If you’re looking for an exceptional sushi experience, this exclusive restaurant is the place to be. The food is nothing short of spectacular—each roll is a masterpiece, combining fresh, high-quality ingredients with perfect craftsmanship. Their signature rolls offer innovative flavor combinations that are a delight to explore. The service is equally impressive. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to recommend dishes or sake pairings to enhance your meal. The ambiance is elegant and serene, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience. Despite visiting on a high and busy eve, we were amazed by the impeccable organization and efficiency. The food arrived surprisingly quickly, a testament to the professionalism of the staff. Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or just beginning to explore Japanese cuisine, Kuro is a must-visit for its outstanding food and impeccable service.

Hidden gem sushi place in the Hard rock hotel. Sushi was fresh, very happy with the quality of uni as well. We sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed the experience watching them cook. They have a great team behind the counter for sure!

This place should be condemned. This is probably one of the worst meals I’ve ever had in the history of meals. We ordered for Appetizers Toro Tartar, Lobster Dumplings, and Wagyu Tacos. The Toro Tartar was nasty whatever sauce was on the bottom wasn’t good at all. The lobster dumplings also weren’t good. The sauce as well was nasty and the lobster meat in the dumpling tasted old and fishy. The wagyu tacos tasted like a Taco pack you buy at Shop Rite. Main Course we ordered the Omakase and the Wagyu Ribeye. The Omakase had 14 small pieces of Sushi for 135 dollars that I could have bought at Wegmans for half the price and would have tasted and looked better. Total waste of money and not worth it save your money. The Wagyu Ribeye was dry and grainy like it was previously frozen meat. It had no taste whatsoever and the sauces were disgusting. I ordered a hundred dollar bottle of Cabernet the highlight of the meal. We didn’t order no dessert we paid the outrageous check of 520.00 dollars for the most disgusting meal in my life and left. I should of left as soon as I saw the place was practically empty on a Friday night. If your a foodie and enjoy tasty good food stay as far away from this place as possible. If they had Zero stars I would have given it zero.

First time in Atlantic City on Sunday and me and my friend decided hit Kuro for happy hour! Best decision and highlight of our first day here! The staff is informative and welcoming. We sat on the bar where we were able to view the chef cooking due to the open kitchen concept they have. It was super cool to see the chefs prepare the food! The happy hour menu was a little small scale and the portion sizes are appetizer sizes but worth every bite for the price! We tried almost everything! Very Fresh fish! My friend said the sushi was the best she's ever had since visiting a resort in Florida.

Kuro is the best sushi I every had been eating it over 30 years even worked at sushi restaurant. The sushi chef Shingo is the best of the best! Also the kitchen executive chef Leslie is great too he even help my daughter 8 years old with the chop stick holders it was amazing the food is exceptional good! The waitress and waiters are great especially Katrina spot on. She makes you feel like you are royal and she is so knowledgeable she knows every plate and drink 🍹 in the restaurant!!! You must visit Kuro at least once in your life then you become a regular like me. 😄😃😃 Katrina in my option is one of the best servers i ever came across this is going on 3 years i am her steady customer!!!!

Google
The food is simply amazing. However, don’t expect to be full when you leave this place. It is just for the experience. Our waiter was good, however, the person who cleaned our table was extremely rude. I was talking to my friend on the table and he rudely told me off and asked me to pass the plate in front of me. I came here for fine dining and not to be told off…

Google
Kuro always earns 5 stars!! The food is amazing. The Wagyu Beef Tacos are to die for. We found ourselves ordering 2nds of many of the dishes like the Lobster Dumplings. The staff is wonderful; very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. And everyone is so attentive. You finish a plate and someone takes it off your table. You take a few sips of your water and someone refills your glass. A manager came by to check on us which is always a nice touch. Our waiter, Tommy, was just a great guy with a perfect personality. Overall a very comfortable atmosphere with great food and great service!

Google
This restaurant will have you dreaming about the flavor profiles and pairings presented in their dishes. I have only been to Kuro twice now and both times I was completely blown away by the food, drinks, AND service. The portions are perfect however the taste will have you wondering if you should order more! The staff was overall delightful, a few members of the kitchen even came out and brought some of our dishes over. I am still trying to process all of the flavors. If you don’t have room for dessert after, trust me STILL GET IT. Our server, Sean was a delight. He held the perfect balance of conversation and appropriate space to allow us to enjoy our meal. He also encouraged us to explore different menu options. This was the best dinner I’ve had in a long time PLEASE GO TO KURO!

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious but pricey for not overly large portions, so keep that in mind! I came here with a group of girls, and we ordered family style. The two dishes that stood out to me the most were the short rib and the wagyu ribeye! The short rib fell off apart easily with a fork and had the creamiest sesame sauce that could make anyone cry. It was that good! The wagyu was also well seasoned and paired really nicely with the chimichurri sauce. I can't stop thinking about that short rib though! Lastly, shout out to the hostesses working that night. We had asked one of them to take a picture, which she gladly did, but she also went above and beyond. She surprisingly whipped out a selfie spotlight and used it to make sure we had good lighting for our group picture!

Yelp
After losing $75 at the slot machines, we cashed in our moola and decided to have dinner instead. I wanted Japanese and this was a no brainer. Oooh la la...this place is ultra chic and sexy. We had the most adorable, bubbly and attentive waitress. Katrina was such a doll, she exudes happiness and it really made our dining experience that much more special. She came by often to check up on us. We started off with some rolls, Eel Cucumber and Salmon Avocado Maki. I loved it, It was fresh and tasty. Next up was the Mushroom Donburi. Omg, if you are a mushroom lover, get this. We ended our meal with their Ishiyaki Hot Stone. The Wagyu was $35 an ounce and you have to order a minimum of 3. I am not a huge fan of Wagyu. I just wanted to try it on a hot stone style of cooking. It was good but don't think it was worth it. Had we not lost $75 at the casino, I would have gotten dessert.

Yelp
This is a trendy Japanese restaurant in the Hard Rock that does a better job at the hot fusion dishes & small plates than it does for sushi. Ambiance is good for a date night and pre-show meal. It's dark & loud, with decent service but not really up to par with other fine dining establishments. Sake list is small, but the cocktails are pretty good. I had the Genjuri & added some extra sake because it was a little too peachy. Premium sashimi & maki rolls were bad to okay. The toro roll was wet & oily & the eel was chewy & overly sauced. We had to send these back. The yellowtail pepper was okay, but it wasn't spicy whatsoever. For $65, the salmon lovers special was very overpriced for 7 small cuts of fish. The 2 pieces of river trout that was included didn't make sense for a "salmon lovers" dish. We also didn't get any soy sauce dishes and had to ask for these after already eating the salmon lovers sashimi since our waiter didn't come by. The short rib and scallop dishes were good, but we weren't blown away by anything except the $300 check.

Yelp
This review is just for the happy hour at Kuro. The happy hour is only on Sundays and Thursdays and it is only for an hour each day when we went to the restaurant we expected there to be a bar however there is only four seats at the very small bar that is in the back of the restaurant so they sit you at a normal table during the happy hour. When we arrived, the hostess was extremely friendly and nice. We had a beautiful table that was circular that was extremely comfortable. Our waiter was very nice and the service was very good. My husband ordered a drink that was not on the happy hour menu it was a Hendrix and tonic and it was $18. I had one of the cocktails that was on the menu, which was very tasty and would order again. We had dinner plans later so we only ordered two small plates to have just as a little bite. One was the negi toro crispy rice and the other one was a Wagyu gyoza. The crispy rice was extremely small and difficult to eat and share it was just a bite very disappointed in this, but the flavor was good. The Wagyu gyoza were very good and I enjoyed the sauce that they were on. Overall, the ambience is great. Everyone that we met that worked there was really good, but the happy hour was not a good deal. We also really enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant. They're definitely other places that I would go for happy hour. I might go back to try the sushi, but it's not at the top of my list.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Sushi is good not as good as I normally have had but it's decent. Service is good and beautiful romantic atmosphere for sure. The appetizers are probably the best thing here for me.

Yelp
Kuro on the boardwalk was amazing. We went with the family and everyone enjoyed their meals. It offered a little bit of a flavor difference from the Kuro in Hollywood. Again I ordered about on of every vegetarian and vegan item they offer. For comparison, the edamame are a bit spicier and have a different flavor. The brussels sprouts were spot on and the rolls are always fresh. The ambiance is comfortable yet elegant, the surroundings of the restaurant or nice decorated and elevated a bit also casino floor. Just outside of the restaurant you find our way perfect spot to go straight into the entertainment and excitement. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Our orders came out in a timely manner and was very fresh. It was a very good visit and a very good evening.

Yelp
I made a reservation for two at 6:30. We showed up and got sat at our table within 5 minutes. The hostess was nice. The overall atmosphere was amazing, relaxing, dim lighting. You can see the the chefs making sushi, see the wine wall, and spacious. We ordered spicy edamame (AMAZING), the wagyu lollipops (two bites but so yummy), scallops (the best I've ever had/cooked to perfection), spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, and spicy salmon roll (all sooo fresh and amazing). We got a bottle of Chardonnay for 50.00 (nice selection). Lastly, cheesecake was our dessert. Was light and fluffy...delicious!! The waitress was on top of it. They never let your water get empty and they never let a empty dish sit on your table. I would definitely try! I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I m came by on a Thursday night. Located inside Hard Rock Casino, not too hard to find. This place has nice vibes, intimate, with a candle set in the middle of the dinner table. There weren't a lot of tables occupied and that made it really cozy. They have happy hour Sunday and Thursdays. We ordered a couple of drinks, and the Japanese cheesecake from the HH menu. We ordered the midori sour, shoga, and the soju mojito. I liked the shoga the best. I feel like I didn't taste the alcohol at all... so it just tasted like a variation of soda! I tried the other 2, and I wasn't too much of a fan. Per recommendations from our waitress, we ordered the lobster dumplings (YUM!), beef negima skewers, pork belly (must try!) wagyu donburi. The donburi was mostly a filler, for trying out the other food. She also recommended the surf and turf, which, I'm glad we didn't get because this amount of food was perfect for two along with the cheesecake. The beef negima was meh, it's crunchy on the outside but the flavor was a miss for me afterwards. The pork belly and the lobster dumplings were a MUST try! We loved both, too bad the portion size wasn't bigger. The Japanese cheesecake was okay, we liked the sorbet and the sides more. The fruits, the almond and the white chocolate gave the dessert a nice finish. The bathrooms are shared with the restaurant next door. There's mouth wash and lotion inside too, if you want to freshen up.

Yelp
I had to come back for the wagyu. Wow presented on Hot stone, wagyu $200 for 6 Oz I think. presentation is amazing ! Taste is melt in yr mouth. I'm officially spoiled! Well worth the trip. Service is super friendly n courteous.

Yelp
My recent visit to Kuro in Atlantic City was nothing short of spectacular! The food was exceptional, with highlights including the crispy rice topped with caviar, the salmon avocado roll, and the white fish tempura. Each dish was bursting with unique flavors that delighted our taste buds. We sat at the bar and what truly made our evening unforgettable was Alex. He was super attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic dining experience. Alex took the time to explain the unique flavors in each dish, enhancing our appreciation for the food even more. To top it off, Alex introduced us to some amazing cocktails he's crafting for the restaurant. Of course, we had to try a couple, and they were all delicious! Kuro is a must-visit for anyone in Atlantic City. Great food, fantastic drinks, and exceptional service - thanks to Alex, it was an evening to remember!

Yelp
This place has ruined all other sushi places for me. It is my go to restaurant for any celebrations. The fish is so fresh. All the flavors are incredible. The ambiance is a must see during cherry blossom season in the spring. Treat yourself, you wont regret it!

Yelp
Went here with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and we enjoyed it a lot. We originally were going to do Omakase, but decided against it when we found out it was nontraditional. All the plates were shareable, although they were very small we ended up being pretty full by the end. The pork belly Donburi was very tasty but a little disappointing how there was almost no meat in it. The Wagyu tacos were ok, but the lobster dumplings were absolutely amazing! We also had two sushi rolls which came with eight pieces each, so we were very full by the end of all of this. I put that it was his birthday so they gave us a free little dessert too (even though it said happy anniversary). The service was great and we both liked our drinks as well, would recommend!

Maria L.

Yelp
Gorgeously decorated. Nice decor. Definitely felt under dressed when I walked in MGK attire!! We were told by our server that things come out as they are made and things were made to be shared! So that's what we did! My friend and I ordered: Lobster dumplings: comes with four dumplings and a delicious sauce! Yummmm Waygu lollipops: 2 of them. Great meat. Would have loved a dipping sauce with these to enhance the flavor or perhaps less sesame seeds to really enjoy the flavor of the meat. We also got the beef lolipops which were crunchy, only 2. Spicy tuna roll: good, however at this price point, wasn't expecting the rolls to fall apart. Avocado cucumber roll: good Good experience, would come back and try other items on the menu such as the entrees. Would love to try Waygu beef as an entree-- next time!

Yelp
It was our first time visiting Kuro and we are already planning our next visit. My husband and I visited with his family who have been many times and raved about certain items on the menu. We started with cocktails, which are categorized into 5 categories in the cocktail menu: Sweet, Sour, Umami, Salty, and Bitter. I opted for the ORENJI, which is peach & orange blossom vodka, lemon, st. Germain, grapefruit under the sweet category. As someone who loves a sweet cocktail, it was perfect. Not too strong, and grapefruit forward without being bitter. Since my husbands' family were taking us out on this particular evening, they led the way with ordering. We ended up getting the following (buckle up): Chicken Momo, Wagyu lollipops, fingerling potatoes, pork belly, and beef negima, from the Robata Charcoal Grill, shrimp tempura rolls, crispy white fish tempura, chicken karaage, crispy brussels sprouts, and wagyu tacos. It seems like a lot, but many things come out in pairs of two and portions are relatively small for a group of four. Everything was delicious. We left feeling satiated but not full. My husband and I want to go back and get the short rib and try the chocolate hazelnut bar. We also have to go back and photograph our food. Since we were with other people I kept my phone in my bag and I wish I had secretly snapped some pics for Yelp!

Yelp
I came in here expecting to be blown away, as an award winning restaurant with such good reviews on Yelp, and really $$$$ not $$$. However I was disappointed. First of all, service is fine, they generally know their food and it comes out pretty fast, with nice presentation. The taste is where I'm having problems with. For one, the eggplant "skewer" from the grill section is just a mouth full of salt and then some soy sauce on top. My kidney is going to take a beating. The spicy soup, at my request be made mild spicy, great flavor, enough seafood ish, but the bowl was small; how is it $16? The only redeeming factor in this dining experience is probably the salmon avocado. Nice big pieces in sushi roll, fresh, not infested. The veggie tempura is a huge dish, well worth the money. Dark ambience, great way to fall asleep except the clubbing music playing in the background. I'm not sure if I would come here again.

Dominika F.

Yelp
Reservations are not timely respected, we had to wait 15 minutes before we were seated. The table that the hostess tried to sit us at was horrible, we asked for a different table. If you're looking for a relaxed ambiance this is not the restaurant for you, unless you're having your dinner late. The place was almost empty by 9:15 on a Friday night. The menu is extensive, but the sushi rolls are super basic & expensive. We chose the chef's choice which came out to be a nice option.

Crystal C.

Yelp
Ambiance of the restaurant is modern and upscale sushi fusion. Cozy seatings and big table perfect for big parties. Sushi was good but nothing really stands out. Sushi Rice was good with nice flavor. Fish was ok. Average sushi joint but with a high price tag on. Presentation of the dishes was nice. Soft shell crab tempura maki was excellent. Avo and eel maki was nice too. Spicy tuna and spicy sal are pretty much standard. You can't go wrong ordering the simple rolls here. Monk fish appetizer was ok. Had better ones before. So this didn't blow me away at all. With the price stand point, I have had way better sushi and more authentic taste at Nobu or other hole in the wall restaurant in NYC or Cali. Definitely can't compare the freshness of the fish from Japan though. Anyhow, overall experience was pleasant. The waitstaffs were nice and helpful. Wagyu beef donduri, we chose 6 oz of wagyu beef and they were really thin slices and the hot stone grill was a fun touch. Grilled veggies were delicious. They gave a few different sauces you can dip your beef into. The price didn't match the quantity and the quality of the dish. Over priced! Tasted the wagyu beef, melted in your mouth but again could have been better. I think this review would be a 3.5 star for me. Wasn't mad about the meal but wasn't impressed with the food either. Kind of Meh!

Doc V.

Yelp
We were wary to come due to some mixed reviews, but we were so elated that our experience was top-notched. We were right there before they opened their doors for their evening service. We witnessed a huddle of the waitstaff convening together which gave us a feel that service was of paramount importance. Amazing and professional service and ambiance. Skillfully prepared, locally sourced ingredients and fish directly from Japan. Every dish was delightful, creatively and tastefully plated, fresh and flavorful. Our server, Christian was very thorough and kind. Our first dish was the mushroom salad that was adorned with bonito flakes which was a very "moving" experience. Please don't ask, just order it. We also had the salmon avocado and spicy salmon maki rolls. The spicy seafood soup was very delectable and the broth full bodied. The seared salmon appetizer was alright. I honestly expected more flavor. The chef's exotic sashimi was spectacular. It was a 16 piece masterpiece in every sense of the word. We also had the matcha green tea and the Hana and refreshing sorbet assortment for dessert. We had so many professional and kind servers stop by our table to serve each plate - as if we're introduced to this family of servers. This establishment is a hidden gem. Please come see for yourself!

Dale C.

Yelp
This place is great. The service was amazing. The food is awesome. It is served mostly tapas style but it is delicious. It was just me and I ordered the waygu tacos. Delicious nice flavor and spice and crispy shells. Oh yeah Then came the beef shishito. Skewers of beef and peppers with a very nice sauce. OH Yeah After that came a spicy tuna roll. Fresh. Clean tasty 8 piece roll. OH YEAH Lastly dessert doughnuts. The cherry sauce was the best but they were great.

Yankel H.

Yelp
I went here with a reservation for 6 and this was by far my favorite restaurant in Atlantic City. Located inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, this place wasn't too difficult to find. The atmosphere was friendly and calm. Our waiter was patient, explained everything very well, and made some great recommendations that we tried out. The food was stupendously tasty. Of all the great restaurants I tried while at Atlantic City, this is the only one I will definitely revisit when I go back!!

Fernanda G.

Yelp
The food and ambiance was great, but the service was incredibly slow. The tuna crispy rice was the best thing we had all night, but the server rarely stopped by the table so it made it pretty difficult when we wanted to keep ordering more food. Not to mention, the kitchen forgot to make our table's order of crispy rice until our server went to check on it 20 minutes after everything else had already come out.

Kimberly A.

Yelp
First time here! Ambiance, food and service were ! I came on a sunday and it seemed like a slower night at the casino which i did not mind at all- gave me the opportunity take in the beauty of the cherry blossom trees they put in! Would definitely recommend.

Roro H.

Yelp
Honestly this place is hyped up for abs no reason. Food is a 3/10 and so expensive for such small portions. Sushi was soggy, wagyu smelled and tasted like it was just cut in the back.

Brianna C.

Yelp
had a great time here with my boyfriend!! The food was excellent and the service was great. i would definitely come back again!! i LOVED the dessert

Richard S.

Yelp
The food, the ambience, the service the staff, the attention the detail everything is still the same from the day they opened. I would highly recommend this place to anybody. We haven't been disappointed in years. Their food is still top-notch. It's a 10 out of 10 or around I can't find a bad thing to say about the place and I only post Reviews and a lot of them will have some criticism but I can't find anything to criticize this restaurant about hands-down Mike drop

Chris B.

Yelp
Wow, what an exceptional meal every time we dine at Kuro. Elite sushi and an amazing menu, can't go wrong no matter what you order. Not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Atlantic City's best casino dining.

David L.

Yelp
Any destination, anywhere you go, visiting a sushi place is always on the list right This was the other place in Atlantic City. The presentation, the scallops, the lobster, the drinks and service were all spot on great

Laurie G.

Yelp
Food was amazing, bar staff, Jesus and Alex, were awesome. Jesus's recommendations for sake, food and port were spot on. Both were engaging yet working busily. I forgot to take pics of the lobster dumplings, but captured the Niwa salad and Wagyu beef. Nice ambiance, great food and service!

Greg W.

Yelp
Any negative review should be ignored, because that California roll eater review does not count. This over the top amazing sushi place rocks. The chef deserves to be recognized. His selection of seafood is impressive. My son and I could eat there multiple days in row. If you did not try the raw octopus you lose. It caught me off guard how amazing it was. Once again the food here is better than some highly rated nyc restaurants. Thanks for a great meal.

Yelp
We were all set to go to Docs Oyster House for an anticipated great seafood dinner. Literally as we're turning into the valet, I see I made the reservation for Docs Oyster Bar in New York! How the hell did I manage that?? AI has a long way to go, else it would have realized I was trying to go from home to New York to Atlantic City in a matter of about two hours. So we wound up here. Despite the run-of-the-mill rye and could have used a touch more of it, our Manhattans were a good start with different flavors that slid across your tongue. Tapas-style shrimp tempura maki and rib eye yakatori were a good start; the rib eye was melt in your mouth tender and the maki presented a range of flavor and textures. I wasn't crazy about the Chilean sea bass entree, that's just my palate and not the preparation as the wife liked it; I thought it was sweet and the sauce covered up the fish to much. I preferred the lobster instead, where the lobster was complimented by a unique butter and an array of veggies. I might be tempted to go 3.80 stars but I can't anyway, so 4 stars it is. Overpriced casino restaurant as expected, but it did provide good food and a nice experience with top-notch service from Jennifer. When I ordered a Kujira 12 year for dessert, we had a quick exchange on Japanese whiskey (primed from our earlier exchange on Manhattans), and how this was the bartender's, who is a whisky geek, favorite. She walks away and the next thing we knew, the bartender was at our table telling us the story of this excellent whisky. We didn't miss Docs.

Yelp
Kuro offers a new-style Japanese menu and is located in the Hard Rock right on the boardwalk. Since we were a large party of 10, we got seated in a private room which I would highly recommend! We absolutely loved the cocktails and the service - our server was so accommodating and attentive to us the entire night. Highlights of our meal included the wagyu tacos which were a hit amongst EVERYONE, the crispy tuna rice - I will never NOT order this if it's on a menu, and the wagyu lollipops. We ordered a mix of hot and cold dishes to accommodate for everyone's tastes, but next time I'd definitely focus on just the sushi - all the fish was so fresh! For $75 per person, Kuro offers something they call "menu mapping" - with this, the server will ask for your food preferences and curate a personal tasting menu within that price range. If you are struggling to get reservations at Nobu at Caesar's or Izakaya at the Borgata, I'd encourage you make a reservation here! The service, ambiance, and food are definitely worth the trip! Yelp
We did not have a reservation. We walked in and we were happily seated. We have been wanting to try this restaurant but never could because it was always closed. We ordered our drinks and they arrived promptly. I just wish there was less ice and more liquor. The sushi is fresh. Very small in size. Beef begins Eel avocado Spicy tuna Spicy salmon Tuna avacado Soft shell crab I feel for the amount you pay for a sushi roll, the roll should be bigger. I love the dishes that the sushi were served in. Our server was great. Her name was Jennifer. She showed professionalism. She had good knowledge of the food.

Starr D.

Yelp
Modern, hip atmosphere, great service More like fusion Japanese foods rather than authentic JP cosine. Lobe the wagyu on hot stone, def top grade, super fatty. Sushi cut length was good, with the right amount of over hang on each side of rice. Sake selection was great, from smooth dry to cloudy strong then slightly sweet. We had a great experience, will return.

Jennalyn B.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was amazing. Service was great. I know this place deserves more words. But just. Just go!

Grasielle C.

Yelp
Me and my husband came for dinner at the sushi bar; the first experience was so incredible that we came back again last night. Even though we were staying at another casino, we made it a point to get dinner here due to our experience with Shingo. Shingo is truly amazing at his craft and made our dinning experience unlike any other. With his knowledge of what he's preparing to just talking with us about our traveling plans; Shingo was personable and inviting. Shingo didn't have to convince us to come again but there we were hahah. I also put in a reservation next month when we come for my sisters birthday. I'd be lying if I said kuro isn't on my mind when I think of why I want to go visit Hard Rock. Sure, the gambling is fun but knowing that I'll FOR SURE be having a great dining experience makes going that much better.

Tinamarie S.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Food came out VERY quickly. Ambiance was sleek yet patrons were dressed VERY casually which took us by surprise. We had dressed up for dinner based on the pics of the restaurant. (perhaps Kuro should adopt a dress code). We had Tuna sushi, chicken dumplings (crispy and coated with broiled panko). Our vegetable tempura plate had plenty for two but the highlight was the Teriyaki grilled Chilean Seabass! Moist and charred on the outside brimming with umami! Our server was very attentive, knowledgeable and talked us into dessert, which I typically skip at a Japanese establishment. We had the Japanese donuts with 3 dipping sauces and the seasonal sorbet trio (the mandarin was amazing). We would definitely dine here again.

Yelp
Kuro creates an intimate and cozy ambiance that provides a wonderful dining experience. The cocktails are unique and flavorful and do not disappoint . The dinner menu offers a variety of delicious options to choose from. In addition, the servers are attentive and helpful.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice now and have not been disappointed. I completely forgot to add reviews and well I have to say better late then never. Lets talk about the most recent dinner. Dinner for 3, made reservation, we were seated within a few minutes. Great decor and ambiance. Started off with the cocktails the Hachi was very interesting, a tad bit much on the black pepper but was great none the less. Orenji was sweet and delicious notes of orange, grapefruit, I feel I didn't really get peach flavor as it didn't leave an impression on my mind. For apps we ordered the crispy white fish, karaage and shrimp. I think every visit the crispy white fish is a staple for me, not too much breading, it nice flaky cooked just right. The garlic aioli from the karaage and shrimp was bangin, good amount of chicken and shrimp provided. Had the wagyu lollipops and the tacos before but didn't really leave much of an impression. Main course was shared with wagyu donburi, Chilean sea bass miso and lamb kare, the lamb stood out for me, it was the right temperature, well seasoned, on point. Side of brussels sprouts, could have used a bit more char on these puppies. Also added on sushi rolls and sashimi. Shrimp Tempura rolls are seemingly always a good choice, salmon roll and otoro pieces. If you love tuna, the richer tuna belly is the right choice. It was like a piece of art, and a rich buttery melt in your mouth piece. Finally dessert after all that food was a shared Hazelnut Chocolate Bar, presentation was beautiful, raspberry and chocolate was delicious.

Yelp
My husband and I had a great experience dining in here as the food and service were amazing, EXCEPT that we were taken advantage of by the server, which is what this three star is given for. We were introduced the menu mapping option to start with and were told the price range was typically $60-$100 pp. We trusted our server to surprise us with her choice of food so we did not look at the menu at all - and we did mention we would love to have otoro. We ended up receiving a bill of $183 pp. While I don't doubt a menu mapping option can go up high in cost, the message from our server was deceptive. We had the thought in mind that the price will not rise much above $100 pp. Regardless of the above, I would give a five star to the food here as every dish was not disappointing.

Yelp
Unfortunately, both my wife and I got food poisoning from eating in this restaurant. We are very disappointed when we called the restaurant to report this the person who I talk to was rude and unprofessional. She really could not care.

Yelp
Finally tried this place because for the past few times when I passed by, it was closed. My bf and I tried the tasting menu which was 65 per person. It came with 4 appetizers, robata sampler, rolls and dessert. We also ordered the shrimp tempura and we were stuffed. We end up brought leftovers home. My favorite was the robata samplers and the chocolate hazelnut bar. The skewers were very tasty and well seasoned. The chocolate hazelnut bar was not too sweet but well balanced between crunchy nuts and smooth chocolate. My bf's favorite was the crispy Brussels. It was sweet from the honey soy and topped with yuzu bites which was well balanced too.

Yelp
Located inside Hard Rock Hotel, this restaurant has Excellent food, service and vibe! We were celebrating my Moms birthday and Sean took excellent care of us - thank you Sean! We did Menu Mapping, which means that the waiter will ask for your food preferences and will deliver maaaany tasting items based on them. Starts with $75 per person - was nice to do for a special occasion! The food brought out was delicious and plentiful - I was full about half way through the meal but kept eating because it was delicious! Not good for my body, but my tastebuds thought otherwise at the time :) The highlights were Tuna Crispy Rice, wagyu beef tacos and sea bass - make sure to try! Dear Fellow Traveler, thank you for reading all the way through this review, I hope it was helpful :) if you have questions about the restaurant, want to see more photos and videos or just want to say Hi, feel free to reach out to my Insta @daria.newyork Cheers to good people, magnificent places and unique experiences!

Yelp
We stopped in here before a concert at Hard Rock and had the best meal!! We ordered way too much but we wanted to try a bit of everything! We did the Brussel sprouts, crispy tuna rice, mushroom salad, salmon bowl, vegetable tempura, grilled potatoes, a spicy salmon roll & a spicy tuna roll. Also, dessert - I got the chocolate hazelnut bar and my bf got the fluffy cheesecake - both were fantastic! Service was also top notch - friendly, made recommendations, checked in on us often! Overall just a wonderful time - highly recommend!

Yelp
Yes, Kuro is expensive but the sushi (as well as the drinks) are stellar. This is some of the best and freshest sushi I've ever had and was certainly worth the price. In addition, the cool, almost cave-like atmosphere is oddly welcoming and the service was fantastic.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time at Kuro on Thursday evening. We went to celebrate an early father's day for my husband and tried their happy hour menu! We loved all the food off of the menu (the sushi, tempura and gyoza were fabulous!). Our bartender Alex was beyond attentive, kind and knowledgable. He really went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience! We also got to have a front row seat of the sushi chefs making the food in the kitchen! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a delicious and fun meal!

Yelp
It was a wonderful Japanese dining venture. Food was amazing. Small portions just like real Japanese dining! But all prepared to show kuro's love for their customers: fresh, and tasty. Our server, Katrina, was so helpful with excellent suggestions. We ordered the scallops based solely on her recommendation and it was out of this world! Katrina returned numerous times to our table to take care of our needs. It was a smashing dining experience at kuro's. We had dined at kuro previously, here at AC, as well as at Hollywood, Florida. Katrina is definitely the best server with her caring and very pleasant demeanour.

Yelp
Came for dinner and our server was Christian. He was beyond amazing from beginning to the end. He had excellent recommendations and made sure everything we ordered was to our liking. Not only was the food DIVINE but the service provided by Christian made this a truly 5 star experience.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my dining experience at Kuro! The tuna crispy rice was hands down the winner of the night! It is an absolute must have!! Everything else was delicious as well! The beef and eggplant skewers were so soft and full of flavor! The white tempura was good but not a must have for me. The 12 spice salmon sashimi had such an interesting flavor to it! The beef tacos were a hit as well! If you're in AC, would recommend dining here!
