422 restaurants, including 2 new Two Starred establishments, spotlighted in the MICHELIN Guide Tokyo 2023

"Opened by a couple from Kagoshima who moved to Tokyo to promote the appeal of local Kurobuta pork, Kurobuta Tonkatsu Horiichi is a unique tonkatsu restaurant that also mixes in Kagoshima ingredients." - MICHELIN Guide Asia

I usually dont do food reviews but had to. This place is amazing and its the best tonkatsu I have ever eaten. First the chicken was so soft and tender simply amazing. The pork was so delicious including the ground version. This is michelin star quality and you get what you paid for. Ingredients are top notch. I hope michelin doesnt find this place because it will become impossible to eat here. I went right when it opened and about 10 min later the place filled up and a line started to form. Now I have a reason to come back to Kagoshima!

I’ve learned that if you’re going to eat tonkatsu in Japan, you must try Kurobuta tonkatsu in Kagoshima! The inside is juicy, the outside is perfectly crispy, the umami just explodes, and the fatty parts of the meat melt away like high-quality beef. If you want to experience the true flavor of Kurobuta, I recommend choosing the rosu rather than the hire

The texture of deep fried chicken is so soft and tastes liked the fish. Further, the pork filet is so succinct even it is deep fried. Don’t scared of the queue as it is worthy to wait and pay a visit. You will buy the coupons to redeem your set at the front door. The deep fried chicken is in the deluxe set.

I visited Kuroda because they had great reviews and was pleased to find that those high reviews were deserved. As I read that this restaurant can get busy after 6pm, I arrived just before 5:30pm to find that they were already open with only a couple other customers inside. I was able to walk in and select my meal with the ticket machine. The restaurant has an English guide posted next to the machine which made everything easy. The staff immediately greeted me when I walked in and displayed a very happy, pleasant, attitude. The open kitchen concept was neat as I was able to watch some of the work being performed to prepare the meal. The atmosphere was pleasant with some modern pop music playing at a low volume. The restaurant was very clean and all necessities are available at each seat. I ordered the Pork Cutlet Meal Set as my primary goal was to eat some delicious Tonkatsu. I did view other patrons getting the Mix Set and that looked delicious as well. My Tonkatsu was delicious. I'm by no means an expert, but I would find it hard to believe that there are many restaurants out there that can make it better. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

This restaurant has great food and staff. Choose your meal at the ticket machine at the door (the set that includes courses of pork, chicken and seafood is great), take a seat and get served some delicious food. You get to watch the busy professional staff carefully prepare your food behind the counter with care and attention. I have never eaten such tender pork. The server came out with each course, told us what it was, and served it with great timing between courses. This was a highlight meal during our trip here. I hope to come back sometime.

I went there around 6pm. There was a queue with 10 prople and more joining after I was in. I waited for 15 minutes. I ordered the top grade asdorted set meal with rice, miso soup and salad at JPY 3200. It includes chicken tenderloin, pork tenderloin, pork loin with some nice fat, Japanese whiting and a big spawn at the end. They are served one after another, not being served at once, which is good as you can enjoy them in the best serving conditions. They are punching above their weight. I highly recommend them at your visit to Kagoshima. A great family-run restaurant.

Tasty tonkatsu. Sharing is not allowed so it is not recommended for small/light eaters. Only go when you are hungry and can eat a good portion of rice + tonkatsu. Price is decent.

The black pork was nicely done. Was still juicy with every bite. Service by all was very nice. Attentively topped up dishes. Explained in detail about how each dish should be eaten. Kind and polite. Open kitchen and able to watch the chef and crew in action. Hopefully have time to be back
