"This famous Vashon Island creamery maintains a toehold on the mainland in the Chophouse Row Building on Capitol Hill. It sells cheese, including the gooey bloomy-rinded Dinah's treasured by top Northwest chefs. But all products pale beside the simple richness of Kurtwood Farms ice cream. Churned on-site in Seattle, it's made with Jersey cream and milk, organic cane sugar, and pastured eggs. Yes, you can order farm-fresh flavors, like bay laurel, lemon verbena, and even Sungold tomato jam. But connoisseurs prefer the real deal, straight up. "The taste is pure Puget Sound, it's the grass the cows are eating," notes the Emerald City's columnist-in-chief Dan Savage."
Capitol Hill’s Tiny Kurt Farm Shop Is For Sale - Eater Seattle
"Kurt Farm Shop, the hyperlocal ice cream shop supplied by Vashon Island’s Kurtwood Farms, is looking to sell its wee 285-square-foot storefront in Capitol Hill’s bustling Chophouse Row. The shop sells cheese and neon-yellow bricks of butter for $15 a pound alongside (and sometimes in) the custard, all produced from the milk of the Jersey cows displayed in the shop’s beautiful, cheeky pin-ups." - Adam H. Callaghan
Such creamy icecreams and tastes so fresh like it's been made right in front of you! I loved the lemon verbena and the caramel flavors, will try something else the next time. The shop is located in such a nice setting, love the vibe of the place.

Quickly became my favorite. They have RHUBARB ice cream!! I was so excited when I heard the selection they had. There aren't many choices but the ice cream they have is absolutely amazing. Waffle cone is a must as it was also great tasting. Super friendly workers that give you samples to anything and everything to make sure you're happy with your choice. If you're in Seattle and around Capitol Hill, you must visit this place.

Great experience from beginning to end. Wonderful service, delicious smells from freshly-made waffle cones, and such creative flavors! Szechuan peppercorn, bayleaf, and rosemary were our choices this time around, but what a difficult decision it was! Can't wait to go back! Definitely deserved its distinction as BuzzFeed's best ice cream in Washington.

Super cute space in a boutique alley-like area. I got the Flora's Cheese ice cream scoop and it was amazing - not too cheesy and not too heavy. I love that you can also buy other dairy products as well. If I wasn't travelling and could bring that much dairy on a plane, I'd definitely have brought some home with me!

Go for the ice cream! Not as cheap as other places, but the quality was top notch. Sichuan peppercorn and lemon verbena make a great two scoop combination. I love that their ice cream is slightly less sweet than most other places.

Kurt Farm shop is a bit hard to find-located in a small alleyway (see picture)- but it is aesthetically gorgeous. Not sure it's a well known shop because it wasn't busy when we arrived🍦
-they usually have about 7 flavors! Try the chocolate shortbread 😋 pictured below. You can get a waffle cone for $1.20 more, or just a cup!
-they also sell grilled cheeses/fresh cheese to take home
- there are places to sit and enjoy your ice cream right outside the shop
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5!

The ice cream was really nice and creamy, with a lot of flavors to pick from. They were also running an Apple Pay promotion which gave us 50% off each ice cream, so that definitely helped! Otherwise, prices are on the high end

Good variety of flavors and great ice cream. You can sample the flavors before you decide. They also sell other diary products. Good alternative to Molly Moon.
