Hands down one of the best European spots I’ve been to! The food is solid and comforting, especially the currywurst sampler and the pork shank with perfectly crispy skin and tender meat. The Bavarian Feast for Two is great for sharing. The self-pour wine wall and beer flights make the experience even better. Don’t skip dessert—we had the table-side Bananas Foster. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to.

Google
A rare charming authentic find in these corporate culinary times! Come for ANY reason! Carefully crafted German cuisine - fondue, fluffy Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese, escargot, potato soup, potato pancakes, tangy German potato salad - amazing flavors with subtle use of herbs and spices! Bratwurst, pork shank, veal schnitzel like butter! Casual yet elegant environment - Feels like a neighborhood cafe in Europe. Hearty portions. Unpretentious. Great for date night, 💘anniversary or b-day. 🍷 Great beer and wine options. And bananas foster prepared table side. (Black Forest cake!). Just special!

A great combination of the old and the new cooking traditions. A fine selection of traditional German food, with their own twist. Polite and knowledgeable staff members, who take time talk with you. They sure do load up the plate, so come hungry! Beers were delightful and perfectly poured. It's hard to find warsteiner on draft in the Southeast.

Google
The food was great, we ordered mussel, pork shank and a skillet. The portion was a lot bigger than expected, we ended up take half of them home. The beer was excellent, and I really love the bread there.

Google
I have to say, the service here is incredible. We came to celebrate my wife’s birthday and really enjoyed ourselves. The appetizers were excellent - from the Rockefeller oysters to the potato salad, everything was on point. I did feel that the pricing was a bit high for the quality of the entrées, but overall it was a solid experience.

Google
I was looking for a classic European food restaurant with a traditional atmosphere reminiscent of visiting the old country and this place did not disappoint. Traditional Bavarian and German dishes were on the menu making it hard to choose what to get. I ordered the split pea soup with fresh baked bread and butter. Followed that up with a meat dish that had a few different pork cuts including real bacon and sauerkraut with a bratwurst and mashed potatoes. Somehow I found the room for some Bavarian chocolate cake. Washed it all down with an Octoberfest draft beer. Highly recommend this place and I’ll be back when I’m in town again.

Google
Great food. Good service. Atmosphere was ruined by a large table of two families. “Regulars,” I was told. They must live in the restaurant because the parents, table nor waitstaff would do anything with the screaming toddler when sitting or running around. If you want the food get it to-go. It was our thirteenth wedding anniversary. They seem to not embrace guests that do not dine there daily. We spent around $300 on wine and food. We have not gone back and advise all to find better restaurants.

I ordered pork shank and pretzels over the phone and was told I could pick them up at 6, but I had to wait about 10 more minutes. The server greeting the customer had a stiff expression on his face, as if he was in a bad mood. He didn't even tell me how much longer I had to wait. I wish there had been laughter. Other than that the food was great. The atmosphere inside the store was nice and there was outdoor seating, but most people ate indoors. It was nice to see the other servers also had smiles on their faces.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Kurt's for our 42'd anniversary and it was outstanding all around. Great atmosphere and the food is beyond description. We've been loyal customers for over 30 years and that's why we chose Kurt's for this special occasion. It never disappoints. We recommend the Bistro Salad which includes shredded Swiss Cheese and crisp onions on a bed of super fresh greens and tomatoes. And for entree? You'd have to go to Switzerland for a comparable Wiener Schnitzel! And the steak was cooked exactly to my wife's specifications. I'd give Kurt's more than five stars if that was possible.

Yelp
Let me just say that this is a review that is WAY overdue. When I was younger, my family and I used to frequent Vreny's Biergarten, which was the establishment (which coexisted with Kurt's River Manor) Kurt had prior to moving to this location towards the front of River Green. We always enjoyed the food and great atmosphere that came along with it. Luckily, Kurt's Euro Bistro still keeps the same vibe. My wife, 18-month old daughter and I ate there again a couple weekends ago for our 8th anniversary dinner. To start, we split the potato pancakes and the sausage skillet. This is a great way to start if you want a sample of authentic German cuisine. For my main course, I went with the Salmon L'sace. I've chosen this a couple of times and it never fails to please with its perfectly cooked salmon, bacon and fresh sauerkraut (love the way they cook the sauerkraut here). My wife and daughter both got the chicken schnitzel with spaetzl noodles. The picture shared is my daughter's portion, which I appreciated them accommodating for her. Although we opted for the Crème Brûlée for dessert this time around, I would have to say that our favorite is the bread pudding. It has the perfect hint of brandy in the sauce and is ideal to share. I'm glad I finally got around to this review so I can thank Kurt for all of the great memories over the years. Thank you, Kurt!

Yelp
This restaurant is the closest thing to Germany in the area. My husband has been and he said it's just like the food they had there. It's a cute restaurant and I can tell that many of the customers are regulars here. The food was pretty good. For an appetizer we got the pretzel and beer cheese and an assortment of dips. The beer cheese was pretty good! We also got the snails. I've never had snails before but my father-in-law got me to try it. It comes with some potatoes on top and the snail on the bottom. Over all it was like a mushroom with mashed potatoes. Really good! We also got this flatbread that has sausage and balsamic. It was a hit for us! For dinner I got the classic Wiener schnitzel with some sauerkraut and it was delicious. It comes with a lemon, spatzle, and lemon butter sauce. I wish there was a little more spatzles but I was glad to have enough room for dessert. My mother-in-law got the make your own skillet and said that was delicious as well. We all got dessert. I tried the apple strudel and it wasn't my favorite I will say. It's very traditional European apple strudel so if you're looking for something super sweet, it's okay. My husband got the bread pudding and that was really good! My father-in-law got the Bananas foster and to our surprise the owner came out and made it himself. I will say, he is an older gentleman. He didn't really seem too thrilled to be there. He didn't say a word to us. The only thing he did was snap at an employee because not all the fans were on and the employee couldn't tell him why every other fan was on. That was kinda awkward to watch while he was getting ready to make that. Hence why I'm giving this a four star. The wait staff was amazing and they could tell us everything about the menu, but watching the owner treat an employee like that was disheartening. The wait staff honestly looked terrified of him. Considering this is the only place I could find that isn't an hour drive to Helen or Atlanta that has great German food, I wouldn't mind coming back.

Yelp
I really went in knowing nothing about this place so I had zero expectations. Walking in, it's like a cute little old fashioned looking place with alot of knick knacks which I liked the vibe of. I do feel like the look of this place appeals to an older crowd. Our server was less than great. He just didn't seem like he wanted to be there and as first timers, he really didn't answer our questions about the food. He was very indifferent and not very friendly. When we asked if there were cocktails, he did say they have a bar so we can request whatever we had in mind but he didn't have many suggestions and overall the interaction was awkward. We did the $110 three course meal for 2 people and honestly, I don't think it was worth it. We got the spätzle for our appetizer and it was really heavy and oily. The flavor was rich but I wouldn't eat too much because you'll be full fast. I got the Shrimp and Scallops and the pasta was the best part of the dish. The shrimp was good but the Scallops were a little overcooked so it had a slight rubbery texture. I will say yhe dessert did redeem some of this meal because the bread pudding was delicious. It was sweet, warm & fresh and was the best part of the meal. Personally, I wouldn't come back because there are plenty of places that cost just as much but the food is much better and service match.

Anne S.

Yelp
Excellent food, very fresh and nicely seasoned. We were a party of 8 and we were our severs only table and she was great! We were in a nice area to our selves that was nice. The owner was a little grumpy but everything else was wonderful.

Akira C.

Yelp
Service was great. I loved all of the flags that went around the outside dining area & the food was good/authentic. Some things for improvement: -on the menu it shows german sweet mustard but in fact, they don't sell that so they gave us spicy mustard & honey mustard instead - which we obviously didn't even eat. -the spatzle was great but it was swimminggggg in butter (I love butter but would've liked some of it to be drained out.) -the pretzel was baked to perfection minus the amount of salt it had on it & the beer cheese that came with it.

Jesse S.

Yelp
We went to Kurt's on a double date, parents' night out. We ordered apps, mains, beer/wine flights, and even a few desserts. Except for the desserts, everything was top-notch. Our server was attentive, but maybe a bit too talkative, haha. We really enjoyed our meal as it was the best European restaurant I've ever been to. This was one of my top Gwinnett areas meals in the last 5 years. I will definitely be back!

Cindy K.

Yelp
I had driven by this restaurant many times for years and was always curious about it. I finally made the decision to try it out. It looks like they take reservations but since I went on a Tuesday night I decided to take my chances and not make a reservation. We were able to get a table for 2 just fine with no wait. The service here is higher end so it definitely added to the experience. I was intrigued by their Table D' Hote option which was a pre-fixed menu for 2 with 3 courses at $110. Decided not to go for it, but think I will try that next time. Ended up ordering the classic chicken wienerschnitzel, traditional sauerbraten, Kurt's favorite, and banana foster. Ended up loving everything except the wienerschnitzel. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't my favorite since I've had better elsewhere. The European food here is elevated in flavors such as the red cabbage braised in red wine. I've had a lot of red cabbage before but not like that. Could eat that all day. The Hungarian goulash with the spatzle was delicious. And the banana foster was made tableside by Kurt himself which I thought was a nice touch. They even had a enomatic wine bar where you can sample different wines! Walking in the restaurant took me back to Central Europe. It made me think of all the restaurants I dined at in Slovakia and Hungary with relatives enjoying each other's company over a nice meal. It was elegant and made for a nice date night. Everyone dining just seemed happy to be there. I look forward to coming back with my in laws when they visit.

Bruce K.

Yelp
Kurt's has been on my list for a long time and when the opportunity of a date night came up I suggested this one! We came during the weekday and well, we had a bit of a feast. I thought you would need reservations, so I reserved our table. It was pretty busy for a week night so I'm glad I did reserve just in case. The ambiance is more romantic, however there are tables that can seat more. There was a whole separate room that wasn't opened when I was there, but I could see the capacity of Kurt's increase when it gets busy. So for appetizers, we got the big pretzel along with the fondue for two. The fondue was nice as there were a lot of apples that came with it. The Bavarian pretzel was a lot, just the amount. If you love pretzels, for sure get it. The beer dip was tasty. For my main I got the Jaeger schnitzel. I got this knowing that I'll be back to get their pork shank. They did have it when I was there, but I wanted to save it for my next visit. Lastly for dessert... We were so full we couldn't stuff ourselves any longer! So we actually skipped that part of the meal. Overall though, I fully enjoyed my visit to Kurt's and can definitely see myself coming back. If you're looking for a European/German experience here, check this place out.

Yelp
Pretzel: The pretzel and beer cheese combination was really good. Not surprising, it was really salty after several bites. Fondue: I enjoyed this a lot. Some fondues don't have the added alcohol, but this one did. It was a good balance in flavor. Jaeger schnitzel: I'm generally indifferent towards schnitzels, but the mushroom sauce did elevate this dish. Overall, I thought that the schnitzel was a bit salty, but I enjoyed it with the mushrooms and spaetzle.

Jessica Y.

Yelp
I came here for a birthday dinner date night and it was overall delicious with a nice, private ambience! The food was very rich and savory, so prepare your stomachs. Between my boyfriend and I, we split two apps, each got an entree, and split a dessert and we were so full by the end. My favorite dish of the night was the black forest spaetzle - it was super creamy and indulgent. My filet mignon edelweiss entree was also very soft and came with a lot of fun sauces. Everything else was also yummy but salty and heavy - my boyfriend had the schwabian platter which was an insane amount of meat - thick bacon and pork chop and bratwurst. Finally the black forest cake for dessert was nice and moist and sweet. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fancier german food experience!

Sandra P.

Yelp
My first visit here and it was fantastic! It certainly won't be my last. Family owned with unique menu options along with its quaint decor make this a really interesting date night. There were 4 of us so we got to sample a little bit of everything and it was all delicious. The service was personable and just the right amount of help without being overbearing. Kurt the owner had just left but his son Alex made our bananas foster and gave us some history while he prepared the buttery deliciousness! I'm giving Kurt's an A+

Cathy P.

Yelp
Always a nice dinner here and a great place to meet friends. Our waiter was awesome and very attentive. Highly recommend making a reservation.

Kevin L.

Yelp
You don't need me to tell you that Kurt's is awesome. But I just ate at four German restaurants in a week, and reviewed the other three, so I figure I'm on a roll. My family takes me to Kurt's whenever I'm in town, and my parents go there all the time. As other folks have pointed out, the clientele skews towards the grey-haired. Dunno why, 'cause the food is tasty and imaginative, and the staff is attentive and professional. (I was amazed at the reviewer who had a server eat a bit off of their plate before taking it away; I kinda feel like I've been missing out!) The menu is mostly pretty traditional stuff, although "Kurt's Favorite," beef goulash over spaetzle seems a little less normal (and is wonderful, try it!). They mix in specials now and again -- the German flatbread was particularly interesting, with a mustard base, red onions, micro-greens, sausage, and cheese. I've yet to be disappointed by anything I've tried. The beer list is similarly large, with some craft beers and some regular German beers. It doesn't feel like the offerings are super-rare or exclusive, but there are plenty of solid choices. This is one of my top two German restaurants, anywhere (the other is Nachtmarkt [actually Austrian] in Campbell, CA, which appears to have lost their Michelin Star).

Laiza H.

Yelp
Amazing food, great service, cozy ambiance. For appetizers we ordered the jumbo pretzel and the potato pancakes. The jumbo pretzel really is jumbo! And the three mustard sauces were so good! I can't tell which one is each but i really loved one of them and liked the other two. The potato pancakes were pretty good also but it had a slightly burn taste. Entree: we got Jägerschnitzel (veal schnitzel, mushroom sauce, German pasta) and it was amazing! Full of flavor and delicious! Our friend got Schwabian Platter and he loved it. For desserts, we got the Black Forest Cake and our friend got the Chocolate Mousse. Everything was delicious! We watched the table next to us ordering the Bananas a La foster and I think it was the owner cooking it in front of them (he looks like the drawing on the menu cover).

Steph B.

Yelp
Bartender is always creatively making great cocktails. Food is good and service too.

Linda P.

Yelp
The food is great... I lived in Germany. Owner still speaks German! Love the vibe. We will be back.

David P.

Yelp
I will start by saying service is top notch. how ever this place was decorated in 1988 and never again. it appears cluttered and dusty. If you are over 60 you will love it here. The shrimp tasted off most likely frozen.

John F.

Yelp
We had been meaning to go to this place for a long time after hearing about it from our friends. With being Oktoberfest we decided it was time. We arrived at 4:45 pm for an early dinner on a Friday without a reservation. We were seated in less than two minutes. The menu has many options to choose from. We started with a pretzel and beer cheese which came out perfectly soft and with three different mustards on the side. For the mains everyone had veal Jager schnitzel. The serving portions are absolutely huge and you will likely need a to go container or four hours to digest everything. We wanted dessert but there was no room. The place has a cozy atmosphere and a fun night at the bar with a pretzel would be a great casual way to wrap up a week.

Debi S.

Yelp
Wonderful food, friendly and helpful staff. The ambience was great, we even engaged in conversation with neighboring diners.

Robyn H.

Yelp
Great food and ambience. This place is a gem! The staff is attentive and the food is yummy!

Belinda M.

Yelp
Another favorite. We love, love, love eating here. The jumbo pretzels are amazing! So many choices on the menu, and in over a decade, we have never been disappointed. The special wine tasting dinners that get offered occasionally are epic. And, need I say that Oktoberfest is a ton of fun. Our very favorite dessert is the table side prepared Bananas Foster. You just can't go wrong with en evening at Kurt's!

Christine S.

Yelp
This place blew me away. From being greeted at the door by the owners, the comfortable ambiance, Kurt's likeness on the wine glass, the AMAZING food, and finishing off with Kurt doing tableside bananas foster. We shared the escargot and the spaetzle black forest starters, and all sampled each other's main dishes - the classic weinerschnizel, the ripchen pork chops, and the edelweiss filet. All were amazing. The filet was cooked perfectly and came with a selection of sauces. Both the veal and the pork chop entrees were HUGE and we brought home leftovers. For desserts we ordered the bananas foster, the creme brulee, and the chocolate mousse. Though the menu describes the mousse with sponge cake layers it was actually wafer layers - light and delicious. Can't wait to go back, I really want to try the pretzel, the pork shank, and the bread pudding.

Scott B.

Yelp
Hands down, the best German meal I've had since living in Germany 25 years ago. I've tried many German restaurants in the last 25 years and this was the best! I had the Schwäbian Platter. The bratwurst was so tender and divine. Same with the pork chops. The bacon was delicious. As were the potatoes. And the red cabbage was exquisite! I will be back.

Mark U.

Yelp
We had a great dinner. The food was delicious and the service by Samantha was exceptional.

Jon B.

Yelp
Excellent food and fast, friendly service. Definitely adding this restaurant to our rotation.

Yelp
After my first review 8 years ago, I think it is safe to say that Kurt's deserves a reaffirmation of 5 stars. The food, and service, have consistently been more than enjoyable during that time. And let me mention again, consistent. It seems so difficult these days for restaurants to stay consistent, which is a shame- but I think Kurt's has held the test of time. A quick fun fact- my neighbor, his first job, he worked under Kurt at the Atlanta Athletic Club over 40 years ago! So, its cool to see how Kurt has been a part of the Duluth area community for so long (as Kurt's has been around for a solid 36 plus years). Another cool thing, is that during the pandemic, they have made a few changes. I get it, they aren't open as late as they used to (which sucks, because it limits how often I can get food there, but I get it), and Kurt hasn't been doing the table side fosters either. However, they have perfected their menu for curbside, and they even have beer and daily specials to take home! I won't lie, I have tried to take advantage of this whenever I can- I bet you didn't know that when available, they have the best fish and chips you ever did try! When I am able to make it to dine in, I like sitting on the covered patio- it gives a more relaxed feeling, and I am usually greeted by the resident cat, Shadow. I am no fan of cats, but Shadow, shes a cute one (pro tip, if you get curbside, bring her a treat!) and I always enjoy her visit! Don't worry, she doesn't jump on the tables or anything, shes more of a "enjoys the smells of the kitchen" type. I also appreciate getting to see for the most part, the same staff- again, with the consistency. Chef Alexander, who has been perfecting the menu for years, always makes the food enjoyable. My typical go to was the Schwabian Platter (AKA meat sweats)- the trio of meats with sauerkraut and mash, but I have been switching it up lately, I mean why not? A few things I have enjoyed has been the sausage skillet (which who ever knew mixing up kraut and onion strings would be so satisfying?), and go figure, Kurt's Favorite (beef goulash with spatzle)- which I should have known how hearty that would be. Along with all of the favorites, you really can't go wrong. It has been a few years, but I have gotten the steaks here and they are always great as well. There is truly something for everyone here, and at every price point too. I seriously have not been disappointed with anything, except wishing that the pretzel dessert they made once was still available (that was more of a science experiment that went well!). Anywho, I could go on and on about all the times I have had a wonderful dine in or take out experience here, but I will run out of space to type. The bottom line, this has been a family favorite for years, and this is officially my favorite restaurant in metro Atlanta- which they well deserve! Not to be missed!

Wen L.

Yelp
TL;DR - Nice atmosphere. The food is hit or miss. I still recommend you to give it a try. Found this restaurant through the Seated app. I got 32% of my total back as reward. If you check out the app please use my referral code: wen31 Walking into the restaurant feels like walking in a restaurant in a little European town. The restaurant is dimmed but the table is well lit. It provides you a calm and warm atmosphere. If you want to sit down and chat with a date while enjoying some tasty dishes, this is the spot for you. We ordered some mussels for appetizer. They are huge with a creamy and buttery sauce. Have at it with the bread. Dipping those bread into the sauce makes me forget about the actual butter that comes with the breads. Unlike mussels from other places, this is not salty at all. I almost want to take the leftover soup to go. Truffle Fries - it was the biggest disappointment. No truffle flavor/taste at all. Stay away from it!! Kurt's favorite - A little bit on the salty end. I would not recommend this dish if you are trying to take a normal amount of sodium daily. Pork Shank - can be ordered ahead. Might be out if late at night. Super crispy on the outside!! The serving is huge. We should not order the second entree. This can easily serve two people. With a big portion meal and a great environment, I recommend you give this place a try!

Sharon F.

Yelp
I wish I could leave more stars! Saturday night, April 6, 2024, was the first time that my husband and I ever went to Kurt's. We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and wanted to try somewhere new. The food and service was EPIC!! I tried one of the specials, Tropical Red Snapper. If they have it when you go, do yourself a favor and order it! You will not be disappointed. Gayle, our waitress, made sure our dining experience was stellar. Will definitely be back!!

Bruce E.

Yelp
We had another excellent dinner at Kurt's last night. The food is ALWAYS good. Last night the person who waited on us, Laura, was on her game. She was gracious, she was professional, she knew the menu, she made our experience very pleasant. Bravo Laura, Bravo Kurt's!

M B.

Yelp
Arrived 10 minutes before our 5 p.m reservation and was told to wait outside until 5. Hmm, not a good sign. Waite staff was very nice. Good wine and beer selection but a wine my guest wanted was out of stock. Okay. Food is on the pricey side (over priced I think) and you get only one side with meal. Spaetzle was cold and dry. Jaeger schnitzel was decent but didn't wow us. Since I lived in Germany for 5 years, I guess maybe I expected more from a restaurant with actual German owners. The owner's wife asked us to leave after 2 hours (from sitting down time) so they could seat another reservation holder. She didn't say "If you would like to go to our bar area and enjoy another drink, you're welcome to" She was nice about it, but my husband and I, and my nephew and his fiance, won't be going back. We all drove over an hour to eat here and were disappointed.

Mark S.

Yelp
Always great German and European style food and excellent service! We've been going there for several years. We love to sit in the bar and Livia is always so nice and provides great service!

Craig T.

Yelp
We visited Kurt's Euro Bistro Friday, April 22, 2022 for the first time with our neighbors. This 3-star review has both good and bad experiences. First of all, the food was exceptionally delicious. Everything was hot, seasoned well, and perfectly cooked. Here's where it gets weird... We were the youngest table in the restaurant (I'm 43). Our server screamed every time she spoke to us. I think she was so used to speaking loudly to the older crowd, but quite literally yelled the specials to us. This happened every time she came to the table. On the positive side, you never had to ask her to repeat anything! Our friends ordered fondue as an appetizer. They only finished half because they had both ordered huge meals. The server packed it up for them at the table. Them she used her BARE hands to pack up the apples and bread. As we are eating dinner, I see another server cleaning/resetting a table from previous diners. Instead of changing out the table linen for a clean one, he simply flipped it to the other side! Lastly, our friends went on and on to our server about how good his meal was and told her that she needed to try that dish. He was referring to her ordering her own at some point in time but instead, she says OK, reaches down onto his plate, grabs a piece, and eats it!! The chef at Kurt's Bistro is killing it, but the staff certainly needs some training and etiquette. Might be a while until we return...

Shawna P.

Yelp
Kurt's is a great place for a nice German meal. We always go for our son's birthday. We love the Jägerschnitzel and CLASSIC WIENERSCHNITZEL and smoked pork chops. They never disappoint. My son tried the special, lamb chops, and they were great. Steaks are a good options too. Sides are all good, but love the Brussels sprouts and SPAETZLE BLACK FOREST.

Deborah T.

Yelp
We used to Come here a lot when we lived close by. It was the larger building in the back. Food and service were always amazing. Decided to take the drive last night. Service was excellent!! We both got the schnitzel, one chicken, one veal. Veal was ok, it had a few tough spots and I remember it being thinner, crispier. Both the chicken and veal were somewhat thicker and not as crispy. The chicken was the same, my husband said tender but same texture as veal. The potato pancakes were good. Plumper than normal ? Need a little longer frying. The red cabbage is always amazing!! My husband got the fried lobster tail. He should have gotten the broiled. He wasn't happy with the fried and it certainly is small. We split one dessert as we were both full. The apple strudel. It used to be warm when we got it with the vanilla ice cream melting onto it. It was a cold piece. Can't say I won't ever go back as I just think things have changed some since the move and maybe Covid.

Yelp
I have finally been to the other, well-known German restaurant in metro Atlanta area. I've been to Gasthaus, which was great. I've also been to Der Biergarten in downtown, which wasn't as good. Finally, I checked out Kurt's Bistro. I've always wanted to go to Kurts but living in the Boonies kept me from going. Since I've moved closer, I can enjoy it all I want. Kurt's Bistro is owned by Kurt Eisele. He's been around. He's also into car racing, as you can tell if you go into the men's bathroom. Speaking of bathrooms, the men's bathrooms have photos of racing cars, pin up girls (one girl looks like a young Jane Krakowski), and "classy" nude women French paintings. I didn't go into the women's bathroom, but I heard it's not as exciting as the Men's. Anyways, I've tried their curbside pickup and ate on location in their covered patio. Their curbside is convenient. You can even order their German Beers on tap. They give it to you in a mason jar that you can keep. They do have an extensive beer and wine menu. They have several great German beers on tap and bottles. They even have some local beers that brew "German" style beers. I've tried variety of things on the menu. One of the specials they have is the Bavarian Feast for Two. It comes with a mountain of meat. I think it changes depending the day. But ours came with bratwurst, fleishkase, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and others. Ours also came with dessert of our choice. It was a lot of food and it was good. The brats and the fleishkäse, which is a thick leberkäse (which is German bologna), tasted authentic and delicious. Their mashed potatoes it came with was whipped, creamy, and good. For dessert, the apple strudel is a winner. It is made in the kitchen (not bought from Publix). Most of their desserts are made in house. They also have freshly baked Pretzel platter to start. The Pretzel is soft and delicious. It comes with all sorts of meats, cheeses, and various mustards to eat it with. I suggest trying it out. I also tried their veal Jagerschnitzel. It was nicely pounded and breaded. The mushroom sauce gave it nice earthiness. It also came with spätzle, which are German Egg Noodles. Their spätzle looks boring, but it was great. Their Sauerbraten was nicely marinated and juicy. The flavors were great. It also came with the good spätzle. They have other, great items on the menu. They even have the Schweinhaxe, which is a huge, roasted ham hock. I have not tried it at Kurt's. But if you're hungry and love pork, this is something to try. Their staff are very friendly and do a great job. They make sure you are comfortable and have a great time. Our server seemed to be on top of things. If you're in Duluth, I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service, guesthouse type atmosphere, reminds me of Germany. Ordered the Schweinshaxe in advance, it was amazing. Could feed 3 easily. Escargot appetizer was off the chain!

Yelp
Kurt's is the best! Fantastic food & service. I had my usual wienerschnitzel with spatzle - always delicious & potato pancakes. Wife had NY strip steak, cooked perfectly (medium rare), "the best steak she ever had", in her words. Must have been 18 oz. although the menu says 12, brought half of it home. We shared a wonderful BLT Butter Lettuce salad. Topped this off with scrumptious Black Forest Cake. The perfect dinner to celebrate our anniversary! We'll be back to Kurt's often.

Yelp
Kurt's is one of those rare restaurants that has gotten better with time. When I moved to Atlanta years ago, there was a good German restaurant in Sandy Springs that closed when the owner/chef decided to retire. When I discovered Kurt's (at a different, though nearby, location), I wasn't impressed and for a number of years I felt that I had to go to Huntsville, AL for good German food. (Why Huntsville? Think rocket scientists.) That's not necessary anymore, since Kurt's is now about as good a German restaurant as I've found anywhere. For an appetizer meal I sometimes combine the Bistro Salad (not your usual salad!) with the Spaetzle Black Forest, a rather unusual preparation. The giant Pretzel (with dipping sauces) seems to be the most popular appetizer. For an entree, well, I've always been a sucker for Sauerbraten and Kurt's does it well, though they put the meat on top of the spaetzle and red cabbage, which is a bit unusual, and I usually ask for the cabbage on the side. I should point out that the red cabbage is the best I've ever had anywhere! You must try some regardless of what you're ordering. And they serve the Sauerbraten quite quickly, so if you're in a hurry it's a good choice. An interesting alternate choice is the Kurt's Favorite, which consists of beef goulash on top of spaetzle, which I think of as the German equivalent of spaghetti with meat sauce! I had the Jaegerschnitzel once, and I found the breading to be too thick, but based on other reviews I think I just caught them on a bad night, and I should try it again sometime. Usually there is no room for dessert, but I've had the Apple Strudel and Black Forest Cake once each and they were fine, though they seem a bit pricey when compared to the rest of the menu. Service has always been just fine, though you sometimes have to ask for bread if they don't serve it automatically. As a sports car owner myself I really appreciate Kurt's love for sports car racing, which is apparent in the framed pictures that appear throughout the restaurant. Reservations are a must, and depending on weather you may have a choice of eating on the patio. And make sure to take some of the excellent mints on your way out the door!

Yelp
This place is phenomenal! I ordered off of Uber eats (the Bavarian feast) and could not be more pleased. Everything was fresh, well wrapped to go, and tasted amazing! Seriously, I could eat this all day everyday. I will absolutely be a regular costumer! Can't wait to try it in person!!

Yelp
Oh boy! We were back in Germany for sure, only a few thousand miles west. In Duluth, GA on the nice end of Peachtree Industrial Blvd. The decor is gasthaus, just like you will find in Germany. And, of course, it is German owned and operated. Start out with beer of wine. They have a number of European versions that you can try. The menu is extensive and comes to you as a book. Take your time, as we did, sipping our carafe ($12.50) and munching on potato pancakes ($8.75). The offer Wienerschnitzel, Ripchen Smoked Pork Chops, Sauerbraten, lots of sausages, spätzle noodles, steaks, trout, shrimp dishes and crab cakes. Quite extensive. But it had been a long time since I had feasted on a Pork Shank "Schweinehaxe" ($34). A bit expensive, but it was as big as my head and baked crispy. The pork was super tender and it came with whipped potatoes and an au jus. I couldn't eat it all, but I sure tried. It was so, so good. I ordered a side of sauteed spinach ($4.50) which was a nice break going well with the heavy pork and beef entrees. Wife had Sauerbraten ($21), her favorite, and it met her fussy standard. This is pickled beef roast, spätzle noodles and braised red cabbage. She loves all three items so was very happy. Believe it or not, but as stuffed as we were, we did order Apple Strudel ($7.50) with extra whipped cream (shane). To our satisfying delights we did finish it. Yum, yum. What a great experience that you all should try. Everything was excellent and when we get back down there, we will certainly return.

Yelp
Best German food south of Helen GA. The staff is friendly and very professional, the food is great, and the red cabbage is a must side. The German Beer selection is outstanding. Great place for a special occasion.

Yelp
Huge fan of this Authentic German restaurant. Unassumingly tucked away in a suburban strip mall. Staples such as schnitzel and bratwurst are delicious. Soft and delicious pretzel. Bedside bananas flambé. Great beer and wine selection. Wonderful service! Love the very European decor and atmosphere. It's all tasteful and not over done. Enjoyed the patio for the first time, with my unruly children. The staff was kind and gracious. We love this place and highly recommend to anyone looking for good quality German food and a wonderful atmosphere!

Yelp
From being warmly welcomed in at the door to the wait staff (Laura) to the beautifully plated food. We had a wonderful evening. We started off with the burgundy snails topped with whipped potatoes and my brother ordered potato pancakes. I have never had snails served like this before! They were so good and the whipped potatoes just added an extra layer of flavor. I'll definitely get again. The potato pancakes were served traditional style with sour cream and applesauce from what I could tell. (My brother reluctantly gave me half of one) It was quite tasty. I only make them for Hanukkah so it was nice to have. Would order again. I couldn't decide what I wanted and ultimately chose the jaegerschnitzel and a half carafe of Riesling. The spaetzle was extraordinarily good. The veal weinerschnitzel topped with mushrooms was excellent. My partner ordered the NY strip (he loved it) and asparagus. He was pleasantly surprised his dinner came with roasted stuffed tomatoes. He had the Warsteiner Pilsner. He said the asparagus was prepared perfectly and that the beer was ice cold and refreshing. My daughter chose the lamb chops anglaise and selected the side of roasted garlic mashed potatoes. She really enjoyed her meal. She seems to order lamb chops wherever we go out. My brother chose the classic chicken weinerschnitzel served atop spaetzel. He said it was the best he'd had. The overall experience was 5 stars. My partner and I will be returning for a date night. We definitely want to try the other offered menu items. Looking forward to sitting out on the patio with wonderful food and drinks!

Yelp
Us and another couple changed our dinner plans and decided to go to Kurt's. Only I had been there since they moved years ago from their Rivergreen location aardvark thst was back when it first opened. The parking lot is rather small but the restaurant itself isn't terribly large either. They do have patio too. The hostess was borderline rude when we said we didn't have reservations (? We didn't know that was necessary, but now we do). We were told we could sitt at a high top at the bar, which was fine with us. Ordered the pretzel which is huge and delicious. I ordered the vegetarian pasta which was large and very good. Everyone ordered a different meal and all enjoyed their dishes. Our servers were nice and attentive.

Yelp
I usually go to Duluth for Asian food but always noticed Kurt's when searching on Yelp for something different. We got a group together to give the pork (knuckle) shank a try. Service was slow, but friendly. The owners kept stopping by the table to say hi to the one year old baby sitting with us. I ordered a .5L of the Franziskaner Weiss, which is one of my go-to's. For $6.95, I'm not complaining! We ordered a few things to share like the potato pancakes but the big star of the show was the pork shank! It was huge! The skin was crispy and crackling while the meat inside was tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes was creamy and smooth and went well with the pork. It's a lot of food for $30! I definitely will be back for more pork shank and weissbier!

Yelp
Food is amazing, service is terrific, and it's great for a date, with cozy booths. I'd say it's definitely worth the trip!

Yelp
Delicious food, fantastic ambiance. The spaetzle is so delicious - buttery, cheesy, unctuous. I don't eat a lot of pasta but this was heavenly! The venison dish was superb (it was a special but worth!).
