Kurulu Bay is a lovely resort with beautiful scenery and great food. The local staff in the restaurant were really sweet and smiley.
As a well-travelled, couple in our early 40s, we noticed that the crowd here is mostly under 35 and mostly digital nomads with a hippieish vibe. While we appreciate different crowds, the tone also felt a bit serious—there wasn’t much laughter or joy around, aside from the friendly locals working at the restaurant. We were also one of the very few, not sporting the baggy pant look. The management staff were kind and polite, and definitely follow an alternative lifestyle.
We were also a bit surprised that yoga classes aren't included and come with extra charges, which is unusual for wellness resorts we've visited. Plus, the pool areas weren't really set up for anyone looking for a solid swim.
Would we go back? Probably not, but it wasn’t a terrible experience—it just wasn’t really our scene. Different strokes for different folks, and for those who vibe with this place, it might be just what they’re looking for! Still giving it 4 stars as there was nothing wrong, maybe it’s just me being a traditional grumpy Yorkshireman who likes a ham and cheese sandwich every now and again.
