Kusshi

Kusshi is an amazing spot. The fish was so fresh, and the menu had such progressive and creative dishes that still felt well balanced. The staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and it was nice getting the chance to chat with the chefs during the meal. Overall, an incredible dinner and experience. Definitely worth a visit.

absolutely delicious. it was my first time trying this place and i was blown away. the food was beautiful & delicious, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was immaculate. i will definitely be coming back here and trying everything on the menu.

We've been twice in the past two weeks - love it! Is now one of our favorites in Bend! The fish is super-high-quality and innovative in the prep. Service is excellent, casual and friendly. The cocktails have a fun spin on them with inventive uses of pisco and tequila. Want to go back and try more things! While the music has been great, and the restaurant is small, I might suggest adding a dimmer to the main lighting to create a bit more ambience. Wish there was a place to have a cocktail while you wait - or just hang at the bar.

Amazing! My dad and I showed up just before they closed, and the food was absolutely incredible. And the service was fantastic. We got a sushi roll, and then the edamame, as well as pork belly. It was some of the best food we’ve had in a very long time! We will be coming back for sure.

I had to visit Kusshi several times to make sure it was actually as AMAZING as it seemed to be. It was. Their dishes are unique and incredible, packed with Nikkei flavor with plenty of options to pair dishes with what you like best. The tiradito, the sashimi ceviche, the crunchy tuna side, the group favorite Japanese tots…every time it’s been the product of a talented and perfectionist staff. And if you don’t like raw fish, they have classics like lomo saltado too. We are very lucky to have them in Bend.

Best sushi in Bend and finally a place with a good vibe. Loved my time here, crispy rice was excellent, sushi rolls were also great. 10/10 would recommend coming here for a nice time.

Ian has reinvented the art of sushi in a way that blew me away. Amazing. Ben and the rest of the staff were amazing.

Ridiculously good. OH MY GOODNESS! Everything tuna was amazing. Each dish a piece of art and so tasty. Lovely, authentic, laid back service with no pretence. Will absolutely come back. So lucky these skilled chefs are in Bend Favorite sashimi of Bend.

Party of two, we arrived at 8PM (they closed at 9PM) and were seated promptly. Immediately, I knew I was going to like this place. It was eclectic and charming at the same time and I couldn't stop taking in the wallpaper and the fun decor. It was done tastefully...not over the top or gimmicky. But... We weren't here for the decor so onto the food. Immediately we were greeted by one of the servers who happened also be co-owner. She was incredibly sweet, and she informed us that most of the tuna dishes were sold out, but if there was anything we wanted still available, she could get it in right away. we out with two that we wanted to try and our full order included: Cucumber salad Hamapeño roll Short ribs Seared Scallops Hamachi crudo Crunchy spicy tuna Tuna wontons Fennel Lemon tea Every single dish was delightful. My sister's favorite is the crunchy spicy tuna, which comes on top of a perfectly crisp bed of rice. I found it to be not too thick and not too thin... Just right. The short ribs were also pretty tasty with a teriyaki type of marinade, but done ever so lightly that it didn't overpower. The short ribs were cooked tender. I would've preferred cutting shears over a thin steak knife, but we got through it (pun intended). We also were obsessed with the miso cabbage base of the seared scallops. I can't even describe them... It was like if scallop cheesy potatoes had morphed into stew cabbage. I did find the scallops a bit too salty but they were seared to perfection. They were so delicate and melted like butter with each bite. Each dish was fresh and well done. One thing we noticed is that many of the dishes used jalapeño... We could've done with switching it up or not having jalapeño in everything. And, be warned, the Hamapeño is spicy! I might've been reading the menu too fast, but I didn't realize it was jalapeño and wasabi in the Hamachi roll which provided a sinus-clearing kick! Still - very yummy...just- surprising. Service all in all was 5 stars. We interacted with three different servers and all were very friendly, making sure that we were happy with our meal and our needs were met.

My wife and I were vacationing for a few days in Bend with her brother. Plugged the address into my maps app and arrived at the address yet couldn't find it. Kept looking for a sign or something. On the third trip through the parking lot a large pickup truck pulled out of its parking spot and lo and behold on the sidewalk was a little box that had Kusshi on it. The inside is nice but small and there are tables outside. When I looked at the menu I kept thinking there had to be more items than what I was looking at. There was a sheet with the days special items, but not many. Literally no selection for rolls. I have never seen such a limited selection at a sushi restaurant before. We all ordered, my brother-in-laws came out first. Ten minutes later my first dish came out. Another 10 minutes my wife's only order came out. We ordered one more item and waited over 20 minutes for it. I believe there may have been only one chef in the kitchen thus the slow delivery of food for everyone. Our server could care less that it took so long for us to get our meal. It would have nice to have been able to have eaten at the same time. The food was good but not good enough for us to come back for especially since there are so few choices.

The food had amazing flavor with every bite. We got several plates and they were all great will definitely go back. The drinks are amazing as well.

smaller dining room with outside seating, this spot is big on small plates. Had beef heart and chicken skewer which were divine, spiced and cooked perfectly. Also had the Causa limena and tuna wanton, artistically presented and delicious. Best kept secret, for now.... I'm looking forward to another visit soon.

I'm almost hesitant to share this because I truly believe it's one of Bend's best-kept secrets... so let's just say it was terrible--definitely don't go But seriously, if you're a Bend local, do yourself a favor and make this your next date night spot. Nice service and ambiance! Tons of gluten free options, all marked on the menu. Everything was fresh and balanced, and the menu had a lot of variety. Bonus points for bagging their own tea.

The food was delicious! I didn't know what to expect but I would consider it an Asian fusion. There were strong Spanish influences in the menu. Everything we ordered tasted great and very flavorful. Not a large drink menu, limited sushi options. If you are willing to try something unique and enjoy Asian food check this spot out. Pretty small inside, Best for 2-4 people at most. Also a little hard to find in the complex as there was no sign.

I may have just had a mouth-gasm! The kushii roll is pure heaven. The pollo a la brassa is tender and juicy, and the potatoes that come with the dish are amazing. Order the Kuroushi sake to wash all this delicious down. Service is on point and highly attentive. I would fly back across the country to eat here.

Incredible! We moved here from Seattle and have been missing high quality sashimi and ceviche. This place delivers. We couldn't stop ordering more and service was quick. The short ribs, crunch spicy tuna and all of the ceviche dishes were things we would re-order. We also loved our cocktails - the mezcal special and the pineapple pisco punch. Our only mistake was not asking for a spoon to scoop the sauce. Cannot wait to come back!

Walking in this restaurant gives you a nice welcome. Service is friendly, very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was fantastic! The presentation gives you a sneak peak into what you're about the experience. Each item had an experience of flavor with a great fresh feeling. Highly recommend this establishment!

Excellent service. They offer beautiful creative and delicious dishes. It's Japanese with a Peruvian twist. My children even loved the dishes including: tots, dairy free black sesame ice cream and sushi. We will be back!

Friendly service, amazing happy hour food choices and delicious overall. We love coming at 4pm when they open for happy hour. We think this place has the best sushi in Bend. So fresh, aesthetically pleasing and exquisite taste. I used to live in Japan so I know good sushi when I taste it. Highly recommend

Went to Kusshi for the first time and it was excellent! Absolutely delicious, perfect food. We did all share plates for the 4 of us and it was fun tasting so many delicious bites. The cocktails were superb. Service was great - can't wait to return!

I can't believe I didn't come here sooner! Fresh fish and unique Japanese/peruvian flavors. The sushi rice was nicely flavored with good rice. Don't miss the crudo! Service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The sushi chef was taking great care with the ingredients. Casual small space with good acoustics. I am definitely going back!!!! Thanks Kusshi!

The food was fresh, presentation was excellent, and service was great. A chef friend told us "this gives Joe Kim a run for his money". The hamachi carpaccio was insanely good. The jalapeños guy be it a kick, and the sweet fresh butteriness of the hamachi made me feel like this tuna was caught hours before we ate it. Definitely will be eating there more.

The nori on both rolls ordered by my husband and me was so tough it could not be chewed. I took the nori off to eat just the rolls' filling only to find the "sticky" rice was more like "glued" rice. There were many ways the server could have handled this but taking the items off of our bill was not an option, nor was there an alternative offered. Since it was later than I normally eat, I downed a protein bar that I keep in my purse for emergencies such as this. We will not return to dine on Kusshi's less than spectacular cuilinary offerings.

My wife and I had an exceptional meal here. Arguably the best meal we've had in Bend in several years. Thoughtful and balanced cocktails on a list that wasn't over crowded. Service was knowledgeable and provided insight when needed without being intrusive. The setting was eveything I want from a restaurant of this caliber, assorted glassware that matched each cocktails needs, diverse plates that were simple but highlighted the plating and a simple yet artfully decorated space. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly, the fish was cut skillfully and all dishes had a level of refinement rarely/if ever seen in our town. Its clear the kitchen is focused and operating at a level that will bring them accolades soon. Exceptional dining experience in all regards!
