We just came here for first time! Sunday Brunch time! Music was poppin! 90s/2000s music. Drinks were reasonably priced! I got a Tokyo Iced Tea. For sushi I got the Ruby! Amazing waiter Fong! He’s excellent !

Google
Delicious! The pan fried gyozas (chefs kiss) crispy to perfection with excellent dipping sauce. We got the volcano, crunchy and spicy mango rolls and they were great! Our favorite was the volcano. I also loved that they had non alcoholic options on their drink menu! I got the Moscow mule mocktail and it was so refreshing and nice. Will definitely come back here.

I came here to celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival with my friend and we happen to have found this place nearby for lunch. The service and atmosphere were great, but the food was quite lacking. I got the salmon skin roll, the Bethesda roll, and the spicy miso ramen and shared the rolls with my friend. The food presentation of the rolls were lacking, and didn’t seem to have any uniqueness to the restaurant. It seemed generic and didn’t reflect its expensive price point. The salmon skin was soggy, and the Bethesda roll was edible. The spicy miso ramen was average, at best. I found the spiciness to be just right, and the idea of eating a spicy ramen during a rainy day was perfect. I was really disappointed to see the chashu topping be over cooked and lack any flavor. Chashu should melt in your mouth and be filled with umami, and it really didn’t have much of a punch and was overpowered by the spicy miso broth. The toppings were a great addition, but I also found there was too much noodles in the ramen, throwing the balance off. Would I come back to this place again? Probably not. Given the price point and the low quality of food served, there are better options in Arlington and the general DMV area for higher quality Japanese cuisine.

Google
Great quality for the price point. The rice to filling ratio was so perfect. I’ve been searching for a while for a sushi spot in this price range for the quality of rolls and fish and this one is it! I got my food for take out and the packaging and set up was impressive. Will definitely be back!

Google
The place seems nice and staff was super helpful. However I was disappointed when I realized the entire reason I went there and the dish I went in for, was missing what makes it special. I was so intrigued and excited to try out their Baltimore roll, and what a disappointment. You can see the photo on their website vs what I got. I either got a wrong roll or they forgot to add the seasoning on it. Make sure you check your order (if it’s a takeout) before you leave the establishment.

Google
Definitely some quality grade sushi. The food was great overall. The presentation in the ice ship was pretty cool for my cold noodles. Sitting on the patio was nice, anytime there is outdoor seating that's a big plus. I'd definitely come back here again.

Google
Pretty good sushi spot, near pentagon mall. Large bar area and sushi counter. Overall some of the rolls were okay and some where a little to warm when served. The spicy tuna sushi to me was to spicy and masked the tuna taste. I really liked the seared tuna belly over rice helped soak up the fatty taste a bit. Service was okay, maybe we had a newer server who didn't know where the uni, and what type wagyu they had but they were quick for service and checked in once. Overall I liked this place Ill check out there other locations as it's a chain restaurant and see if quality changes between locations.

Google
We decided to treat ourselves and get the nigiri and sashimi sushi boat (64 PC). No regrets, the fish was high quality and super delicious. There was a good variety and luckily 4-5 pieces of each so everyone at the table was able to try everything (4 people). We also got the sunset, spicy mango and cherry blossom rolls. Honestly the rolls were just okay, we were more impressed with the sushi boat quality. The rolls were not bad, just not amazing. We also got the agedashi tofu and takoyaki appetizers. Takoyaki was good and very standard, the agedashi tofu used silken tofu and was actually super delicious as well. It had a great exterior crunch and chew to contrast the silken center and the sauce was very well balanced. Would definitely eat here again if I was in the area.

Yelp
This restaurant was absolutely amazing and delicious. Food came out fast and hot. I got the chicken udon and there was a huge variety of toppings. Our waiter was outstanding and very polite. She worked fast and it almost felt like her beautiful personality radiated off her. The restaurant itself (the building) was very clean. They have nice seating and even have a drink bar and sushi bar too. A small and comfy place and it's easy to tell there were some good interior designers employed for this.

Iris W.

Yelp
We came for an early dinner after a conference nearby ended. We were seated right away. Service was courteous and the decor was very cute. Their drink selection is extremely extensive with numerous whiskey options as well as craft cocktails. I started with a soju/lychee/yuzu/mint cocktail was was amazing--sweet, tart, refreshing. Food was fantastic. The fish was fresh and well prepared, some with its own sauce that brought out the flavors beautifully. We tried the chilled green tea soba w tempura. This came with a lightly spiced dipping sauce which was great on both the noodles and tempura. The tempura was battered just enough and fried well. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

Liz H.

Yelp
Great mid sushi, especially for delivery. We've eaten both in the restaurant and delivery. Not excellent quality like you can find in DC, but great for the price and staying in the Arlington area. Great beers and cocktails! Would probably give it a 3.75 so rounding to 4

Esther A.

Yelp
Not gonna lie this place is actually really really good. I like the service I liked the ambience and I think the restaurant was pretty clean. I would definitely come back and eat the fish again. It made for a perfect dinner and lunch the next day.

Anna C.

Yelp
Although the service was incredibly slow here, the portions of fish were generous and VERY fresh. I also had a green tea IPA which is one of my favorite drinks--I'm so glad they had it in stock!

Yelp
I discovered Kushsi Sushi through a Groupon which I bought on Black Friday. I've dined here a total of three times. The food always takes a while to come out, but it has consistently been good. It is located in Pentagon City, and you can easily find parking in the Harris Teeter parking lot nearby. The ambiance is good for dates or small groups. There is ample seating and no reservations seem to be required The first time, the waiter was quite rude and unfriendly. We were able to use our Groupon, and I used it on a rainbow roll which was the best rainbow roll I've ever had. We also ordered ramen. The ramen was very large and delicious. The second time, we came for happy hour. They have high-top tables for happy hour and there are a variety of items on the menu. We got about five Sushi rolls, and left stuffed! It was a great deal. Wait service was slow but fine. The third time, we got two rainbow rolls using another Groupon. The rainbow roll is just so delicious that we couldn't help ordering two of them. Overall, I would recommend getting sushi here!

Eric C.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem IMO, it wasn't too busy on a weekend night, and I think the whole Pen Row is about to become more of a spot. Sushi was good, the ramen was good, dumplings were good. Service was super quick, which I enjoyed. Will definitely be coming back. I think the only thing I would have to say is to make the spicy rolls actually spicy. Both my rolls were not spicy at all.

David S.

Yelp
We've been coming here since they opened in the spring of 2023 and the food, service and ambiance are all still great. Food: last night we got the edamame, pork ramen and chicken udon and all were fab! The chicken udon in particular is excellent, both healthy and delicious. The edamame makes for a great salty starter. Service: the servers are all great, always give you speedy service, they get the food out quick! Ambiance: Kusshi has a cool modern atmosphere, they play a lot of pop music, the current hits, but the music isn't overbearing and the atmosphere is still pretty chill like you would get at a more traditional Japanese restaurant. So all in all if you haven't visited Kusshi yet put it on your list!

Alison G.

Yelp
As you may or may not know, I have been on a ramen journey ever since I went to Japan and had the best ramen of my life. After one bowl of ramen in Japan, I determined ramen is my favorite food. I am looking to find my ramen fix now that I am back home and I may have found it! Kusshi, stand up, so I can give you a round of applause! The hubby and I LOVED our ramen! When we arrived, a nice lady greeted us and sat us. Our visit was midday on 11/26 and the restaurant was not busy, however it did it appear that there was only one person working the floor, bar and being a runner. We waited awhile and then I asked the person who sat us if we should order from the bar (even though there was no one at the bar), but she said someone would soon attend to us. Shortly after, we were greeted by our server and put it in our orders, I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen with an extra egg and the hubby got the soy sauce ramen. The hubby's ramen came quite quickly and mine came out about 4 minutes later. The tonkotsu ramen was phenomenal, a deep, buttery and porky broth. The ramen was plentiful, well balanced, the pork was thick and overall everything in this bowl was perfect. The hubby's soy sauce ramen was also delicious, but he felt mine was better - it was. The reason for four stars: the service was delayed. Our server was nice enough, but perhaps he was too busy. If it weren't for that, this place is easily 5 stars, heck even 6! I can't wait to go back!

Alan N.

Yelp
Edit: I've updated my review from 5 stars to 4 stars because the menu shows 8 pieces for the bethesda roll, but each order only comes with 6 pieces. Given it's happened each time, I'm assuming it's an issue with their Uber Eats menu, but they need to update that because it's misleading. I've added a picture of their menu on Uber Eats for reference. Authentic and high-quality sushi that's served with an aesthetic presentation. Ginger, wasabi, soy sauce, and chopsticks included. The fish was fresh, alongside the rest of the ingredients. Fire cracker roll had a nice kick to it, and shrimp sumai came with a nice sauce. Looking forward to the next round.

Bradley L.

Yelp
Fish was super fresh and delicious. Got the Chirashi and have gotten the teriyaki chicken in the past. Both dishes gave a ton of food and was definitely worth the price, especially considering the quality. Took a little bit for our group to get our orders in but other than that the service was flawless and speedy.

David E.

Yelp
Solid sushi option in Pentagon Row (which is apparently now called West Post at National Landing...) Service was prompt. Sushi was enjoyable. You won't mistake it for what you'd get at a high end omakase dinner, but also better than the sushi mills. Price point might be slightly high, but its not wildly off value for quality. Parking is free for an hour in the surface lots, which makes this an easy spot to hit. (Arlington Soccer parents - this is a great place for date night while your kids have a 90 minute practice at Virginia Highlands Park!) We'll be back, though would be back even more often with slightly more competitive pricing. I've seen them show up on Groupon, but the Groupon isn't valid the nights we are nearby. But if the Groupon works for you, definitely worth a try.

Joanne L.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting much coming in but the food was quite good. They have a great selection of specialty rolls as well as regular maki rolls. All the ingredients were fresh and reasonably priced. It took us a bit to spot a server and order during prime dinner time, but otherwise service was nice and the food came quickly.

Cham K.

Yelp
Seared Salmon - 5 Star Wesley's Videos - 5 Star Whole Kusshi Team - 5 Star Ride the Kusshi boat or get lost losers! Jk jk but forreal though, get the Lava roll, Tiger Roll, Kusshi wings, and any of the specialty Nigiri like the seared salmon! If you don't like those then you probably shouldn't be rating anything... respectfully. If you're with your squad, get the Kusshi Boat!

Thant A.

Yelp
We got a table for 4 on a busy Saturday night without any wait at all. That was nice. The waiter was also quite efficient I have to say. He came to us at the right time all the time. He was good at reading the tables. I expect good lighting at nice restaurants with pricey menus. The lights here are too dimmed. It may be a personal preference but the lighting test didn't pass for me. I don't mean bright workshop lights but nice spotlights that highlight the experience. I don't have anything else to complain about for the rest of the decor. It works for a sushi restaurant. But how's the food? The ones that hit really hit well and the rest I have to be honest are pretty average. For a $200 bill for 4 people, my bars are way high up there. Half of the rolls aren't quite at that level if you know what I mean. If you know the right things to order, you might have a different experience. If you already decided to go, you must order the fatty Salmon nigiri. That was really really good. If you're feeling tonkatsu, order the sauce separately. It was wayyyy too sweet but the tonkatsu itself was super crispy yet tender inside. My friend emptied that big plate! The cocktails taste good but I don't really like paying $12+ for drinks personally and I really didn't feel any rum in my Hawaiian Sunrise. If you are on the fence, I'd say skip the cocktails. Will I come back again? I would for the fatty salmon nigiri alone but I'd also be looking up another cheaper option before I make the decision.

Yelp
I visited Kusshi Sushi with a few coworkers on a Wednesday after work. The establishment was very clean and the hostess was very nice. It wasn't packed and parking was super easy in the lot adjacent to the building. Upon arrival, we were seated pretty quickly and were given menus. Our waiter started out very nice and attentive. We ordered the Japanese old fashioned(s) and a variety of sushi rolls. I ordered a side of seaweed salad as well. The old fashioned was amazing. The sushi was OK. I don't think they were "anything to write home about". The menu is very pricey compared to other places in the area. The main reason I took off a few stars is because of the customer service from our waiter. Our first round of drinks were delicious. He confirmed that he made them. When we ordered the second round, the taste was extremely off. It was as if another person made the drinks, but we confirmed that it was our waiter. We were very nice about asking. Not rude at all. We even bragged about the first round being amazing. However, when we asked for our drinks to be redone, he had the worst attitude about it. Then we had to wait an additional 20 minutes to get the new drinks. From that point forward, his attitude was very sour towards us, and we quickly paid our bill and left. I probably won't be back for a while.

Sonya L.

Yelp
We came by for a late lunch, in between lunch and dinner time. We shared a 15 piece nigiri set and a nationals rolls. Enjoyed both. The spicy tuna used in the roll had a heat but wasn't too spicy. Fish tasted pretty fresh. I enjoyed the assortment of different nigiri that was served. I didn't have a piece I didn't enjoy. I think one was a mackerel and I really like mackerel, because it has a strong flavor, and I don't get it very often. Our server was good. We appreciate that they give you a bottle of water so you don't have to call over a server when you need more water. The restaurant is spacious and clean. My only comment is that the dining room is a little dimly lit for my preference.

Kesanee S.

Yelp
Great food, a bit pricey but better for lunch special, great service and ambiance. If you're like to be there for lunch, please make sure you get that before 11:30 AM.

Hanay W.

Yelp
My first dinner during my trip to Washington, D.C. was this amazing sushi spot! I went to the Pentagon Row location with the closest metro station being Pentagon City! I love the calm energy of the space and how friendly all the staff was! Their menu has a great variety of appetizers, rolls, sashimi, nigiri and some ramen and noodle options! For the quality and portion of food, their prices are reasonable! This was honestly the freshest tasting sushi I have had in awhile. If you're in the Arlington/DC area, I highly recommend trying this spot Miso Soup: 10/10 Cherry Blossom Roll: 10/10 Presentation was great and so was the overall taste of the sushi! You could tell it was fresh fish. The seaweed salad on top was a great touch! highly recommend!!

brother f.

Yelp
Great food!! Coming bakk! Atmosphere was great very clean place. I'm new to the area, so I love sushi and sushi connoisseur.

Andy V.

Yelp
The food here was decent. Started with a crunchy roll which tasted great. However, it was served as 5 huge pieces that barely fit into my mouth. Might be personal preference, but I would rather have 6-8 pieces of a slightly thinner roll that is easier to eat and isn't padded with quite as much cucumber. The tonkotsu ramen was also good, but by no means anything special. The broth wasn't super flavorful and the noodles were pretty think and lackluster. The best part of my meal was the drinks and the service from Fong behind the bar. The Yuzu mule was really delicious and Fong took great care of us.

Cynthia M.

Yelp
Ordered takeout for the first time from Kusshi and wasn't impressed with the food or experience. First off, my husband ordered over the phone and got hung up on twice while ordering. Not sure if it's a problem with their phone or the person taking the order but she also seemed like she didn't really know what she was doing (had to ask for his order twice, hung up on him before confirming the order and giving him a pickup time so we had to call back to confirm and she didn't seem confident in the pick up time so we ended up having to wait a bit after we got there). Maybe she was new so not a huge deal but the process definitely took longer than expected (and the phone issues were annoying). Anyways, onto the food. I got the chirashi and man, the variety was really lacking! I don't know if it's just not as great for takeout because some of the dine-in photos of the chirashi looked pretty good but I was disappointed in the lack of variety. The pieces of fish themselves were pretty big which was nice but there just isn't much to rave about and I think there are definitely better chirashi in the area. When I'm craving sushi it's typically chirashi so I probably won't be back but maybe others have better luck with them!

Kierra L.

Yelp
Today I stopped into Kusshi to place a to-go order. My total came to $18.70 -- I handed the hostess a $20 bill. She proceeded to give me back a dollar. I assumed she was about to hand me the rest of my change but she then turned to walk away. I asked her if she had the rest of my change thinking maybe she forgot, to which she replied "We round up -- your change due was $1.30 so we rounded up to $1.00" 1. That was rounding down 2. How is that even legal? I challenged this and she got an attitude and said, "you want you $.30?" She then opened her drawer and miraculously pulled out 3 dimes. I understand it was $.30 but it was principal. I didn't "round up" when I gave them the money for my food. Disappointingly, the sushi rolls were also sloppily made.

Billy D.

Yelp
One of the better sushi spots in Pentagon City/Pentagon Row. Everyone also raves about their salad dressing. They were out of one of the beers I was ordering and asked for something similar, bartender must've picked the most expensive beer can at $12. a piece, so 3 beers later $36. Kind of ridiculous for lunch, but I still go back for their sushi.

Jacky C.

Yelp
Finding a good sushi spot in the area shouldn't be this hard. Fortunately, I stumbled upon this spot and this is now my go to spot for good sushi. I had the following items: Seared Spicy Salmon Roll ($16.50) - It is amazing that all you do is sear part of the salmon to make it unique, and that slight difference makes it tastes phenomenal. Spider Roll ($14) - These rolls were massive. I am a soft shell crab fan and this with the overload of tempura crunch and eel sauce makes my taste buds dance. Service is pretty decent. Friendly staff members, although at times I had to wave someone down. Looking forward to trying other specialty rolls on their menu and possibly other non-sushi items on their menu.

Pam I.

Yelp
Great place for socializing. Also, great sushi and drinks with friendly staff. I'm fortunate to have it in my neighborhood without having to go to DC for sushi

Esha Z.

Yelp
I called this morning and asked if the sushi rice or eel sauce contained mirin, sake or other alcohol, and she went to ask: they confirmed they use sushi vinegar, no alcohol :) so this is friendly for Muslims and others who do not consume alcohol. It was nice out today, so a couple friends and I went for dinner and wanted to sit outside; we were greeted as soon as we walked in and sat at the bar for about 15-20 min since he told us we'd have to wait for a table if we wanted to be seated outside. I never go out after work tbh so idk if their workload was considered busy , but like many other reviews said, the service is pretty slow. I got a mocktail with pineapple, coconut cream and cranberry juice. One friend got a lychee cosmo and said it was really nice. I wish the drink menu was available online! I ordered the rock shrimp - so crispy, the sauce was spicy, it arrived to the table hot, and overall delicious. My favorite part of the entire meal!! My friends and I ordered rolls to share and ended with a fried ice cream. The fried ice cream could have done with more ice cream, the coating was really thick but still yummy! The service is slow but staff does check on you and they bring the check out quick at the end, I would probably go again because the drink and appetizer was good, and sushi itself was decent.

Victoria S.

Yelp
A wonderful place in NoVA to get fresh sushi and well-prepared Japanese cuisine. The staff members from those who greeted us to those who served were very friendly and accommodating. Our drinks were replenished often, and we were checked up on during the meal (if we were enjoying or needed anything else). Food was beautifully presented. As for the food itself it was top notch. We love the seared fatty salmon (had it at other Kusshi locations). This one was just as yummy (nice surface caramelization with a melt in your mouth quality). The a la carte rolls I had were also great (perfectly cooked and seasoned sushi rice with fresh veggies/fish). My companion liked his unagi as well (no picture).

Sam N.

Yelp
Not much of a Japanese experience. Very loud hip hop and Latin music (why?), hard to talk. More like a bar ambience. The server was very attentive and quick. Chicken katsu was ok, but why drench it in sauce rather than serve the sauce on the side properly? It was goopy and thick like it had escaped from Panda Express. The tempura was ... deep fried shrimp and vegetables. It did not have the delicate crunch of tempura. At least the batter was not too thick. The portions are insanely large- easily could be cut in half and sold as a complete meal. Aside from the music, it was comfortable and attractive, and in a nice walking district. I probably won't be back until I've tried everywhere else in Arlington.

Lexi L.

Yelp
Amazing food doesn't have to be expensive or excessive but it does have to be ON PURPOSE!!! I decided to grab sushi on a whim cause I was craving it. Kusshi leaves so much to be desired ESPECIALLY for the price. It was the middle of the day and I ordered 2 hand rolls, 2 specialty rolls and the Nutella dessert roll. I've honestly had better sushi from the base commissary. There was no love put into these rolls, they simply filled the order, the sushi was covered in sauce but there was no seasoning or cohesion. Don't just cut off a piece of cream cheese and shove it in a roll, whip that mess up with some kind of seasoning and add some depth to it!! I spent quite a bit of my hard earned dollars and live fairly close but ALAS, I must continue my journey for a great sushi plug. I wanted to love this place, leave a wonderful review and return many many times but no dice.

Bella J.

Yelp
I would say it is a decent place, 3.5 stars. 1. Food: okay. - Their sushi options are not that good, but not bad at all! - bento boxes look good, the chicken was good, but I didn't like they filled up the section with useless stuff like some weird pickled stuff. The rice was not of good quality, the mini dumpling and spring rolls were decent. - miso soup was actually good - excellent dressing on salad 2. Drinks are fun and good Their 'picked' sakura drink was interesting. Don't eat the flower despite it says 'pickled'! 3. Ambience: outside seats are awesome inside: I hated the smell, I kept sneezing the whole time. I couldn't even get to the bathroom without sneezing non-stop. whatever was the smell, it was allergy inducing for me. I think it is a decent place if you happen to be in the area.

Chloe S.

Yelp
Ambiance here was very fitting for the restaurant and the area. Service was . Servers were very friendly and helpful in explaining foods to you and giving suggestions. The food was top tier!

Jonah W.

Yelp
I came here for dinner on a Wednesday night with a group of 4. We were decently hungry so we decided to go for the 64-piece sushi and sashimi boat. At nearly $160, I'm not sure I can say it's the best value. But in terms of taste and quality it definitely delivered. There was a great variety of fish types, with each kind of sushi/sashimi coming in sets of ~5. Everything tasted fresh and most of the sushi had a light coat of various kinds of sauces, which I thought added a lot. Split between 4 people, it's not a crazy amount of food (I could have eaten more) but it's probably enough for a dinner. Our server was super friendly, and while it took a little while to get our food, it was understandable since we did order a sushi boat. While we were waiting for our food they were quick to bring our drinks.

Mia C.

Yelp
Update: Have come here 5 times in the last year and ordered 3 times on UberEats. It just gets better each time and I'm never disappointed. The quality of fish here, the friendly wait staff, and the Asian-representation on the drink menu all make this my top choice in the area anytime I want sushi. Everything is fresh, fairly priced, and the people who work here go above and beyond. The presentation of the food is also beautiful. Definitely come!!

Tyshon W.

Yelp
I've been here many times, and haven't been let down yet. Service is always on point (I always sit at the bar) and the place seems attract people who generally are there for good drinks and a good time. This time I've decided to write a review about this place because of the One Piece themed drinks they are currently running. I've only tried the Luffy and Nami, both were good, but the Nami was overall better. On top of drinking these themed drinks, they come garnished with items you'll recognize by character and pirate treasure! Lastly, I won't spoil all the fun, but you may notice the recipes for some of the drinks look familiar . Anyway, had a great time as usual. Recommend trying the chicken katsu curry (not on the menu with curry), their tonkotsu ramen, shrimp appetizer (get the sauce on the side) and a nigiri sampler!

Sheila P.

Yelp
We ordered takeout. The time for delivery was pushed back multiple times but overall we found the sushi to be very tasty. I liked that the spicy tuna roll was chopped.

Lily S.

Yelp
I got delivery from here and ordered a variety of items to get a good feeling of whether i'd come back: - Fire cracker roll - inedible. Drenched in spicy something w a gross bitter after taste. - Bethesda roll - tuna salmon and avocado. I enjoyed. - Crunch roll - left something to be desired. I think it would have benefited from some eel sauce. - cherry blossom roll - a fancier Bethesda roll. I could take it or leave it. - yellowtail roll - classic. No complaints. - they also included a small side of seaweed salad as well as some sort of white sauce (in addition to the spicy mayo I asked for). Overall - I do think the fish is pretty fresh and would order again but I'm going to stick to the plain rolls.

Tammy L.

Yelp
I had the vegan ramen. It was a little bland. My friend ordered the Kusshi noodles. It was good but too salty. Service was good.

Kathleen S.

Yelp
Stopped in to this cozy spot in Pentagon Row for a quick bite on a cold evening. Menu had plenty of options for sushi and non-sushi lovers. I opted for the Dobin Mushi Tea Pot Soup ($9) with clams, mushroom and salmon in a seafood broth served with a slice of lime to squeeze in before enjoying - yum! Service was friendly and prompt (even with a large party of 12 or so seated just before us!). Our group also enjoyed a few negiri options (fatty tuna, octopus), ramen and super satisfying Japanese pickles! Look forward to returning next time we're in the area.

Yelp
Pictured are their octopus dumplings and spicy tuna avocado ball. The octopus dumplings offer an interesting twist on a traditional dumpling. The octopus have a smoky flavor. I wish the octopus within the dumpling had been more tender; however, the dumplings were still great. The shaved onions also offer a really cool aesthetic to the dish (as they appear to be floating on the dish- check 'em out @Faceless_food_). The avocado sushi balls are also delish. They're happy hour is amazing! I highly recommend their lychee martini. Location: there are tons of shops and eateries neighboring Kusshi. There are also family friendly activities that are typically accessible in the center of the shopping area. Parking: There is a neighboring parking garage in the event you drive.

Yelp
Sent me the wrong roll and found a huge piece of plastic wrapping in it. Bit into it and could have been so much worse.

Yelp
Overall pretty solid new sushi spot. Prices were standard or a little below what I typically see in the DC area for speciality sushi rolls, and everything was prepared quite well. We ordered the Sunset, Baltimore, Crunchy, Maryland, Spicy Tuna, and Eel & Cucumber. Of those, I felt that the best were Baltimore ($10 with real crab meat and Old Bay-- can you tell I'm a Marylander??), Maryland (California with lots of spicy tuna on top), and Crunchy (also $10; really great texture and mix of seafood and cucumber). Service was good, and ambiance was fairly nice as well. We came in around 5:30 on a Sunday and were seated immediately.

Yelp
Expensive and meh. I feel like this captures a lot of Pentagon Row restaurants, which is TOO bad because it's so close to me! Expected more and better food options, now that Amazon is here. The first time I tried their rolls was at a soft opening. Fresh and nice. But perhaps they were putting on a front because they were new. I was excited and invited my partner for another go. The second time I went was a different story ... The rolls were just OK, but exorbitantly pricey for what you get (you need more extravant and unique rolls or fresher/ quality ingredients to justify that) This time we also ordered a soup which was the biggest surprise and let down of the night. FLAVORLESS broth. I almost thought it was a joke!! I could make this with hot water and a dash of soy - and not much else. Don't order the udon. You'll be dumbfounded. Our server also did not seem to fit in with the place... If you're going to charge these prices for a weeknight meal, the service better be good or at least decent. This was something else... Our server was wearing a super grubby hoodie and holey jeans while serving us one of the priciest dishes in the Row. Sure, it can be ironically? But his demeanor was also "meh" personified. He kept on sneezing/wiping nose with sleeve (ew?) while waiting on us - and also didn't answer any of our questions about the fish. He seemed so apathetic about what he was serving. Picture the shrug emoji live! It would've been more disappointing, if it wasn't so ridiculous!!

Yelp
Amazing ramen with a great atmosphere and service from the employees. My friend got sushi and dumplings and loved it so much he had to get seconds. Highly recommend if you're in the Pentagon City area.

Yelp
I really enjoy coming here. The customer service is top tier and the establishment is always clean. The food is always amazing and fresh. This was my sister first time here and she enjoyed. We had three different types of sushi, dumplings and the soft shell crab. Is used my Groupon deal ($15.00 for $30.00) worth of food and drinks. If you're looking for great sushi in the dmv this is the place to be!

Yelp
We came here only for happy hour and it was overall a good experience! The place wasn't too busy and we got sat right away! All rolls were very good for the price, nothing too fancy or special.... all the happy hour rolls are pretty basic! We ordered 2 of every happy hour roll ($5 each!) and 1 crunchy roll. My favorite roll was probably the spicy tuna roll (the bottom right roll in the picture) bc to me it had the most flavor! And my friends favorite was the crunch roll (middle left in the picture). All rolls tasted good for the price!!!! I would love to come back and try some of their more exotic rolls that are apart of their regular menu!!

Yelp
Had a bad experience before but decided to try it again. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The service was slow, which was the same complaint during my initial visit. The service was awful. The food was good but not worth the trouble unless you order takeout.

Yelp
I decided to come for happy hour. I got salmon maki, spicy tuna maki and a kirin. I think it's a pretty good happy hour deal, especially for the area. Service was good as the bartender was great and attentive. Kusshi is on the pricier end so I'll probably come back for their happy hour again. Happy hour on weekdays 3-6pm at the bar (no holidays), with food and drinks being $10 and under (sushi is $5). The parking lot and parking garage gives 1 hour of free parking.

Yelp
I'll start off by saying I want to give this place another chance but in person. Got take out for dinner one night and the food was ... fine? The price is relatively high compared to other Japanese places around the area. I will say they are pretty generous with the cut of the fish, but it was oddly a little warm. Not sure if it was because of the drive home, but it made the meal feel a little off. Also what we got for takeout didn't match some of the dine-in photos. Will want to try again though as it seems dine-in might be better.

Yelp
UPDATE: stomach pains 2 hours later. I'm unlucky with the raw fish... I know eating sushi has this risk. --- Ordered a rainbow roll and 9 piece nigiri sampler for delivery, food came pretty fast and was well packed. The rice had great texture and well seasoned. Fish tasted really fresh, I'll be so happy if I don't get any stomach issues. Definitely will order again!
