The Best Bars In Berlin - Berlin - The Infatuation

"You’ll know you’ve arrived at this inconspicuous canalside bar on Maybachufer when you see a crowded window lined with shoes and condensation. While the listening bar isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, if you, like us, crave a change from Berlin’s dark smoky spaces, head to Kwia with an open mind (and some socks on, as you’ll need to take your shoes off at the door). The drinks are reason enough to visit this purple-hued Kreuzkölln spot, with fun cocktails garnished with lavender, natural wines, and nightly DJ sets. You don’t come to Kwia to catch up with a friend you haven’t seen in months, so avoid the chillout area and head to the sound room, where you can listen to ambient music sandwiched between the zoned-out bodies of strangers melting into the floor cushions. As the name suggests, this is a queer bar." - olivia ladanyi

This place is like a dream. Shoes off at the door. You come here to chill out, sip amazing cocktails and listen to ambient beats. There's two rooms; one for talking and one for listening. If you like getting lost in the music while lying in a super cute love puddle, this is the spot for you.

One of my favourite venues in Berlin. I have experienced so much creative energy there and also unlocked new music for myself. The best tea (try the sweet ginger one!) and cocktail selection. I was glad they had plenty of alcoholic and non-alcohol drinks. The staff are lovely and cool. The atmosphere is relaxed and moody. To have the best time, go in with an open-mind and be present.

Very underwhelming. Starting off with the not so optional “contribution” fee of minimum 10€ at the door, unannounced on any socials. Call it what it is, that’s an entry fee. The staff was very unpleasant and unhelpful, not even giving us any explanations while we went to them to ask for some context on the place and the event. Nothing. Good natural wine and cool lamp on the listening room, but also, the listening room being separated only by a curtain from the entry and bar doesn’t help making it silence and ruins the experience. Whatever experience it might have been anyways

My friends and I decided to visit Kwia the other day because of the theme of the place, which lived up to our expectations. However, in the main room, it’s hard to talk at a normal volume due to the music, but in the second room, we were able to comfortably chat and enjoy our drinks. The cocktails are good, though most are priced over €10. The service was great, with the staff being very attentive. Payment at the entrance is cash-only, and on the day we went, they weren’t accepting card payments at the bar either.

Meh.. honestly i was so disappointed. I wanted to try this place for so long and oh man i can’t believe it - the lady at the entrance was 0% helpful, we asked if she could explain the concept/space to us as it was our first time and she did not care to explain anything - when we then asked the bartender she gave us so much attitude. Listening experience was not the best and the other artists were talking and laughing loudly in the silent room while someone else was performing. + everyone else were on their phones. Decoration was lowkey giving cheap with the drapes as doors and smelly feet ambiant scent Also they ask for 10-15€ minimum contribution + super expensive drinks.. Not worth it.

This is a well served scam 🥲. I really thought is a cool concept, but it's such a bad miss. The girl at the entrance was so intense in presenting the rules, how I am I supposed to relax after that? And where: in a feet smelling living room with cheap decorations? Also the RA event (which doesn't mention any ticket prices) said it was supposed to be an ambient night, music was pretty far from it, really dancey vibes at points. Crazy 😧 🤣🤣

i came here to say our whole group ( international multi culture and heritage maybe also the only ones there from around the world l) got off with the disgusting feeling these people are trying to be so “inclusive” they are racist in that kinda woke way that makes you go 🤢 For some reason also no one in the comments says they ask for 10-15€ just ot enter and Beer costs 5€ , and the space is tiny with no smoking area … Nice idea , not well executed in our eyes at all and left feeling horrible coz some of us had dreads and they took us for questioning if we have black heritage if not to leave.. with out thinking about indian , or native american and many other cultures who have dreads that some of are from , tired off this bullshit it was the classic ick woke problem vibe

This place conceptually is really nice, and is very pretty inside / hosts interesting music. I really enjoy the idea of it, but in practise, I can’t get over how damp & smelly it is inside. I would love to come here regularly if there was a good dehumidifier & the pillows were washed regularly. This feels really particular to put in a review but It really bothered me both times I visited and felt like the one thing that got in the way of the whole cozy vibe. When you visit, wear thick socks.
