The Best Bars In Berlin - Berlin - The Infatuation

"You’ll know you’ve arrived at this inconspicuous canalside bar on Maybachufer when you see a crowded window lined with shoes and condensation. While the listening bar isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, if you, like us, crave a change from Berlin’s dark smoky spaces, head to Kwia with an open mind (and some socks on, as you’ll need to take your shoes off at the door). The drinks are reason enough to visit this purple-hued Kreuzkölln spot, with fun cocktails garnished with lavender, natural wines, and nightly DJ sets. You don’t come to Kwia to catch up with a friend you haven’t seen in months, so avoid the chillout area and head to the sound room, where you can listen to ambient music sandwiched between the zoned-out bodies of strangers melting into the floor cushions. As the name suggests, this is a queer bar." - olivia ladanyi

Such a special place in berlin, unique soundsystem and atmosphere. With lovingly handcrafted cocktails, best natural wines and a home for many underground communities who organize their events there. A must see before they close!

One of my favourite venues in Berlin. I have experienced so much creative energy there and also unlocked new music for myself. The best tea (try the sweet ginger one!) and cocktail selection. I was glad they had plenty of alcoholic and non-alcohol drinks. The staff are lovely and cool. The atmosphere is relaxed and moody. To have the best time, go in with an open-mind and be present.

This place is like a dream. Shoes off at the door. You come here to chill out, sip amazing cocktails and listen to ambient beats. There's two rooms; one for talking and one for listening. If you like getting lost in the music while lying in a super cute love puddle, this is the spot for you.

My friends and I decided to visit Kwia the other day because of the theme of the place, which lived up to our expectations. However, in the main room, it’s hard to talk at a normal volume due to the music, but in the second room, we were able to comfortably chat and enjoy our drinks. The cocktails are good, though most are priced over €10. The service was great, with the staff being very attentive. Payment at the entrance is cash-only, and on the day we went, they weren’t accepting card payments at the bar either.

if berlin is the bottom of the ocean, dark and fascinating, kwia is the pearl you're trying to find down there. a true ray of light. one in a million curation and programming. shoutouts to the staff, they're all absolutely fabulous. obsessed with the pandan ice tea and pink mezcal.

This is a well served scam 🥲. I really thought is a cool concept, but it's such a bad miss. The girl at the entrance was so intense in presenting the rules, how I am I supposed to relax after that? And where: in a feet smelling living room with cheap decorations? Also the RA event (which doesn't mention any ticket prices) said it was supposed to be an ambient night, music was pretty far from it, really dancey vibes at points. Crazy 😧 🤣🤣

Google
who thought that a cocktail bar is a good idea in a listening bar separated only with just a curtain?! the sound of constant ice shakers is very overstimulating and off putting. if you ask kindly upon entrance to use the back room for chatting, why is the bar and the entrance so loud right by the listening room? has many design flaws unfortunately. it’s also very uncool to charge 10-15 on doors (does it actually go to the artists?!) and then still ask so much for drinks.. not an accessible place however hard it tries..

When myself and some friends found out this place was closing soon, we decided to meet there to show some support. Unfortunately, it was immediately evident why this venue is going away. They have an unadvertised entry fee, which apparently changes according to the appearance of the people entering? Some are charged 10 euros, others 15. And the cocktails are WAY too expensive at 14/15 euros. The vibe inside is practically non-existent.
