15 Denver-Area Eateries With Gluten-Free Options

"Centered around the “build your own bowl” concept, everything in this fast-casual Brazilian restaurant is gluten-free. Five on Black is a great, on-the-go option for those looking for something more than just a salad. Bowls are generously packed with rice or greens, light proteins, and savory vegetable toppers like coconut, roasted sweet potatoes, and steamed collard greens. Some of their tastier sides include puffed cheese bread bites and chocolate chip cookies." - Nisa Sedaghat

Google
Nice quiet spot with some tasty Ramen just off 16th street. I was shocked at how fast the food came out. The broth for the ramen was delicious. Also got the truffle fries which is just a normal bag of frozen fries but the truffle sauce made up for it. Not a lot of ramen choices but what they have is worth trying.

Google
The food was amazing. For a picky eater that only likes ramen with the broth. They quickly catered to the order. The pork broth was rich and flavorful. They normally don’t drink the broth but it was the first thing gone. The Kobe beef burger had a rich beef flavor and the cook on it was terrific. I highly recommend Kyoto Scratch Kitchen for their great food, quick, pleasant service and clean restaurant.

Google
New revamped menu and it did not disappoint! The team mentioned everything is made from scratch, and you can taste the quality in every dish, seriously! What we ordered: *Crab Rangoons, made with real crab *Vietnamese Egg Rolls, extra crispy and flavorful *Korean Spicy Wings, great heat, well-balanced *Korean Chicken Sandwich, the kimchi adds the perfect kick holy moly 🔥 *Spicy Garlic Ramen, bold garlic flavor, al dente noodles, and a rich broth Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well executed. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re craving Asian fusion done right! Thanks team Kyoto!

Google
I will say....my ramen was decent...the tonkatsu pork had a good "bite" to it, it wasn't just falling apart tender which I think is over cooked. I was dissapointed that they were out of the black garlic ramen that I wanted. The chicken ramen was average...chicken a bit tough. For the price, I felt we got a nice portion with a good amount of the toppings. Unfortunately for ramen in Denver we felt it was just average in terms of taste. I gave lowered stars on service...the counter guy taking the orders wasn't very friendly. I also gave lower stars for atmosphere, because it is always strange to be in a restaurant downtown at 630pm and be the only people in it for 40ish minutes.

First visit and my wife and I were blown away. Some friends recommended we give this place a try as the new menu was outstanding. Every thing we tried showed an impressive attention to detail and flavor for an over the counter fast- casual experience. The Mi was the best I’ve had in Denver (surprisingly even better than Vinh Xuong and Golden Bahn Mi!) — complex layers of taste with homemade deli meats that were on point and well-seasoned, all tucked inside bread that had a glassy crunch and a soft interior. The shumai was remarkable, made by hand with a chunky texture that let the shiitake mushrooms shine, avoiding the bland paste you often find elsewhere. The Korean fried chicken sandwich was perfectly crispy with a pillowy soft bun, and the housemade kimchi struck an ideal balance of heat and spice. The tempura fried mushrooms and onion rings came with an aioli that was the perfect complement — rich, tangy, and addictive. Service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and efficient. The restaurant was spotless, comfortable, and prices were more than fair for the quality. Highly recommended for anyone seeking great flavors, warm service, and true value. We’re new fans!

This was a good ramen spot. There are so many trash ramen places and thankfully this was not one of them. I got the Tonkatsu ramen with spicy level spice. I also added extra pork belly for some extra protein. The chili oil on the tables was a tasty addition to the broth. They also sell poke bowls and meat bowls. Give this spot a try if your in the downtown Denver area. The prices were very fair.

Went for the takoyaki but also got ramen. The noodles seemed to be just packaged noodles but were still pretty good. One of the soups (shoyu) was very salty but the other (black garlic) was pretty good and balanced. We got extra pork and at $3 it seems worth it. The other ingredients in the ramen were pretty good and the price was reasonable. The takoyaki seemed to maybe be pan cooked on site. However, this was not the case and they were prepared from frozen. The octopus was a little chewy but overall pretty good takoyaki. The filling has the proper consistency. The sauce was pretty good but a little sparse and it did not come with mayo. There were a few bonito flakes. The price was pretty high for the quality. Overall, maybe a 6/10 takoyaki. Service was quick and everything was very clean.

Google
The food here is to die for. We started with just some appetizers but after trying them we HAD to get a real meal. Everything was cooked to utter perfection. Each plate flavors were so balanced and the sauces tasted like they spent hours perfecting them to heighten the plates they were with. My favorite restaurant in denver. I earnestly cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
I had a great experience! I work nearby so had been meaning to try this place out. Fair prices, clean restaurant, and great staff to work with. You can get a water cup and self-serve. When you go in, go up to the register to order. After ordering, you'll get a number to set at your table of choice to be served. I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen and it was SAVORY and very filling. The broth is rich and the pork is well cooked. Next time, I'll probably order extra egg or pork. I'm also curious about their Tonkatsu broth. Overall, great experience! Really looking forward to coming back for lunch
google avatar

Yelp
I went in and order a ramen bowl & asked for the whole egg, two halfs, in my order. The guy at the register says that will be an extra $2. I asked if I got no egg if he would subtract the $2 from the total, he said no. So if they get to keep the egg half they you're still charged for it but if you ask for the other half of the egg it's two more dollars. The foods good but the service couldn't be worse. Hope the owners get rid of the jerk that works the counter.

Yelp
Went there at lunch time and the line was kinda long! The line moved slow mainly cuz it's very understaffed! The person taking orders at the counter was also the one delivering food to tables! But, he did apologize to me for the delay. Food is good for its price! I got vegetarian ramen and it came with generous amount of tofu and black fungus. My colleague got the regular pork ramen and he said the quality of meat was good. And, we both agreed that there was too much MSG! Good amount of seating and vibes are also lively with upbeat music!

Yelp
The black garlic ramen is good. The pork is quite big and you can choose spicy level which is great. Their service is quite minimal and you pay when you order foods, so you don't have to pay huge tips. Overall, it's great, but I wish they had more comprehensive menu options, because I was there for ramen, but they only had four options.
google avatar

Yelp
You wouldn't guess this ramen shop would stand out given all the restaurants around, but this is a big surprise! Ran into this joint a while ago when it first opened and recently just came back. The black garlic ramen is freaking solid. They do a great job with the broth. Full of flavor, heavy enough, and spice is there.

Yelp
Ramen was amazing! Quick and easy service. Workers are super nice. 1000/1000 would recommend this spot.

Yelp
Really nice folks work here!! The truffle fry aioli was delish!! My husband got the stir fry chicken bowl. He said it was good! The veggies looked fresh and not overly sauced. I had the bahn mi. It was okay. Having just returned from Vietnam, I'm a little spoiled. The bread was a bit too toasted and cut the roof of my mouth. I would have loved a bit more acid (pickled veggies?) on the sandwich and the pork was pretty unremarkable. It was fine, but I would choose something else the next time! I would go back just to support the amazing staff!! It was clean and bright which is also a huge plus.
google avatar

Isobel R.

Yelp
The service was incredible, all the food came out quickly and all staff were very kind. My group ordered crab rangoons to start followed by the tonkotsu ramen and the black garlic ramen. I enjoyed the toppings on both ramen dishes, the pork was delicious, but I found that the noodles were slightly more well done for my preference and the broth was not as rich as I was hoping for. We also ordered a teriyaki shrimp bowl, po boy with shrimp, and a bahn mi sandwich. Overall, nothing extraordinary but all solid food, clean restaurant, and fair prices.

Yelp
While browsing the area during a work trip we passed this location. I made a mental note to come back and visit. We decided to stop in the next day for lunch. Staff are super friendly and ordering was breeze. The shop is slightly open and airy which gives it a nice laid back ambiance. A nice spot for a work lunch. I opted for the Tonkostu Ramen and added Kimchi with a side of spring rolls. The ramen was super flavorful and the added Kimchi really hit the spot. The spring rolls was cooked just the way that I like them. We also shared an order of the Crab Rangoons and Chicken Karaage.

Yelp
Quite surprised not many Japanese restaurants in the Central Business District offered unagi don. Sakura House did not have it, Oishii Ramen, Menya Ramen and Hapa Sushi also did not have it. Found only Kyoto Ramen and Poke Club had it. Since Kyoto Ramen was within a short walking distance, so it was my pick for lunch today. Compared to the traditional unagi don, besides the smoked eels, there were also a few poke bowl ingredients, such as tofu, peas, seaweed, avocado and ginger. The unagi sauce was rich and umami while the other ingredients complemented the taste, flavor and nutritiousness of the unagi don. Satisfied and would certainly come more often. Kyoto Ramen is right across the street from Chipotle.

Yelp
Saw the sign for the Crab Rangoon's and Gyoza and decided to go in. We ordered 2 Crab Rangoons and one Gyoza. We can say this is the best of each of these we've ever eater. High highly recommend them!
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Hot flavorful broth, no thrills place, the pork was a bit tough but had flavor, the noodles were great- just a little too soft in my opinion. I prefer kata over futsu. Overall, much better than Oishi around the corner.
google avatar

Dulce R.

Yelp
Amazing service!! Clean establishment and delectable food. We came after a movie looking for some A/C and good food and we found it. Not being local to the area there were a ton of options but so glad we stopped in. We got the spicy edamame, chicken teriyaki, shrimp po boy and chicken ramen. They were all delicious but the ramen stole the show.

Yelp
FOOD Tuna Poke Bowl without Edamame, Tofu and Ginger - Overall really good. There is a good amount of sauce that makes the dish tasty. The ingredients are given in decent portion sizes for the price. And the tuna was pretty fresh and given decent sized chunks. VIBES Place is pretty spacious with plenty of seating from tables with chairs to more bench type seating. SERVICE The service was ok. It took around 30 to 35 minutes for the food to come out after we ordered for around six people. They also had no salmon :(

Yelp
We were visiting Denver for a few days and tonight at 31 degrees and with snow flurries in the air, ramen was the perfect thing to have... we ordered the shoyu ramen and it was just ok... the soup needed a little bit more flavor and the noodle was a little soft... but adding a bit of the hot chili oil did the job... coming from Los Angeles with some of the best ramen outside of Tokyo , I can get a little critical.... It did warm us up enough tho.

Valerie J.

Yelp
Extremely friendly, food was amazing. Best ramen we've had. Ever. Right off 16th street

Yelp
was in town for a conference and craving ramen for dinner. coming from the east coast where i eat ramen pretty regularly and have a wide range of options, this did not quite hit the mark for me. i do not want to be harsh. maybe it is a regional palate thing or even the altitude. but the broth and overall flavor just did not really taste like traditional ramen to me. friends mentioned that denver's ramen scene can be a bit different, so that might be part of it. either way, it just did not quite land for me.
google avatar

Stewart L.

Yelp
My wife and I visited this really nice place a few days ago. It's right next to Chopsticks. Be careful because you might go to the wrong one, depending on what you want. The black garlic noodles are fantastic. I highly suggest them; they're really good.

Yelp
Stumbled upon Kyoto Ramen last night (Thursday) while walking around in Downtown Denver. It was cooooold so some hot ramen sounded perfect. I walked in a little after 8, (they close at 8:30.) There was one table occupied at the time. The restaurant was clean and tidy. The cashier was friendly and offered recommendations and substitutions. I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen. It arrived at my table pretty quickly. As far as flavor goes, I've had better but it was still very good! The meat was cooked perfectly, so was the egg. I asked for a to-go bowl just in case I didn't finish before they closed. That wasn't necessary. I finished the whole bowl. LOL It's cold outside, slide though and warm up with some hot ramen!

Yelp
This review is only for their chashu pork rice. I didn't try anything else. But I likely won't be back! The rice bowl is as disappointing as can be for any restaurant food - even at the fast food restaurant standard. It was just some rice (albeit properly cooked) with frozen vegetables (the kind that you can find in the frozen section of most markets), very few small pieces of pork, and a ton of salty teriyaki sauce!!! I had to dig under them to get some rice that's not soaked in sauce.... Even at the low price ($11) it was disappointing. Service is efficient- you order at the counter; and the place is clean and nice. But none of that could offset the disappointment with the food - after all, it's why we came to restaurants for, isn't it?

Kate C.

Yelp
The food was so good and the guy was so nice and helpful! I will definitely come back. The chicken karaage was so crispy and the sauce was
google avatar

Ed M.

Yelp
The restaurant was clean and service was quick and efficient. I ordered the black garlic ramen and side order of gyoza, mild spicy. The gyoza was ok, deep fried crunchy and had a nice dipping sauce. The ramen had two nice pieces of pork which were soft but rather bland. The noodles were a bit soft. The ramen sauce was completely lacking. Really watered down and bland. Had a craving for some good ramen but it's the in the soup base. This one looked good but no substance. Sad. I don't come to Denver much and won't come back here.
google avatar

Yelp
Went back, AGAIN. I LOVE THIS PLACE. Every visit to Denver and I gotta stop here for Ramen. Amazing family owned restaurant. Best place in downtown Denver for lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Esteban R.

Yelp
Great ramen spot to try out. The chicken ramen I ordered was pretty good, the only thing is that the chicken was a little hard to eat but overall good spot to try it out. The service was really nice and the ambiance was good too. I'd come back! The Takoyaki was delicious!
google avatar

Anne J.

Yelp
Fast and fresh. Wish I had realized that Poke bowl's fish was in a gloppy sauce, even containing corn kernels. Will ask for unadulterated fish next time. Chicken ramen bowl had nice selection and amount of mushrooms.
google avatar

Nancy G.

Yelp
My colleague and I came in for lunch. When we arrived there were quite a few empty tables. Since you order at the counter first, we knew we'd be okay finding a table. Depending on who is behind the counter, you might be ordered/told where to sit. Everyone who came in and was a party of 2 had to sit in the middle column. If they didn't listen the "ramen nazi" would tell them to move. Aside from that, the food is excellent! I had a tuna and salmon poke bowl. Everything was fresh and extremely filling. My colleague had the chicken ramen and said it was extremely flavorful. We also shared gyoza that was tasty with just the right amount of crisp. We arrived at 11am by 11:30 the place was packed. A little on the loud side so know you won't be having any business meetings here.

Kyle B.

Yelp
Great food and quick service. I had the chicken ramen and it was delicious with a good portion
google avatar

Janet D.

Yelp
I really should review them-like right now. I've been raiding their grilled squid menu for a while since moving in to d/t Denver. It's a walking distance to me( you don't know what walking distance is to me ) . Its a whole squid mind you! Grilled to perfection! I make sure that Adam D orders something to make up for my one track-minded squid They have other dishes too that of course I tried as a cover for my obsession with this grilled squid. . Poke Bowls are fresh! Ramens are yummy! Staff is always helpful and the place is clean! Well lit and easy to get to either you're driving or walking So yes, I highly recommend them!

Kristal B.

Yelp
The food was not only amazing, but Francisco was one of the kindest servers I've encountered. Highly recommend. We got the chicken teriyaki bowl & the garlic chicken ramen.
google avatar

Premila M.

Yelp
Decent place near downtown. They only have one vegetarian Ramen on the menu and it's simple and basic. More tofu and mushrooms and no other veggies. The spice level is good and good portion size.
google avatar

Dennis B.

Yelp
Awesome!!! I have eaten here many times (almost everything from the menu) and it is always a great choice. Their ramen is the best I've had in Denver, priced fairly, and the staff is always super nice and accommodating. The manager Dominic seems to know everyone, so it's really got that neighborhood feel. Lira has frequently taken my order and she is always terrific and pleasant. The broth is delicious. I love the black garlic and shoyu versions, as are the rice bowls (I really like the beef Hawaiin BBQ and teriyaki), and the Poke bowls are always fresh and filling. Go with the triple Poke bowl! All in all, it's always a great experience. Quick, delicious, fairly priced. What more can you ask for?!
google avatar

Ronnie T.

Yelp
I have heard many good things about this spot since i've been in Denver, and I must say that I could not wait to try this spot out. I walked into a spacious restaurant that was filled with the aroma of garlic and deliciousness! I ordered the Miso Ramen as my main course, and requested for it to be spicy! I then ordered an appetizer of fried chicken wings. My food came out and I dug right in! I started with the fried chicken wings, which were well seasoned and crisp to the bite! They were actually so seasoned, that they did not even need to have any sauce with them! I then took a nice delightful bite into the miso ramen and I could taste the warm notes of miso, with the fresh toppings and tofu! The miso soup was very flavorful and energizing! The dish made me feel very rejuvenated after eating it! I also enjoyed the spiciness a lot too! This place has a variety of ramen dishes to choose from, the service is quick, and the flavors are on point! Cheers to good eats!

Kittet Y.

Yelp
The food was so awesome and the service was so great, I highly recommend eating here, and the place is nice and clean!
google avatar

Shanna R.

Yelp
I've been walking the frigid snowy streets of downtown Denver and was getting hungry, cold and tired! Stopped at the right spot!

Golden E.

Yelp
The food was so good, I've been to multiple places in the area and they charge 5.00 extra for worse Ramen! Reasonably priced, and more than met my expectations, the guy running the counter was super kind and patient; the view from the dining area is nice and they play good music; my partner and I left satisfied and so did my wallet!

Amanda M.

Yelp
The only vegetarian item has most likely not been tasted. The broth just tasted like hot water with a little oil in it. The tofu was cold silken tofu and they were out of eggs. So, it was hot water, oil, ramen and cold flavorless soft tofu. Oh, they sprinkled some corn in there-but that was the only veggie. Some of the worst ramen I've ever had. I really wish they would taste the veggie options rather than just have them as here is the one veg option that we never tasted. So bland. I will say, the women working there was working hard and seemed really nice. But, this meal was just so bad. It's really sad to me when the vegetarian option is such an afterthought. Very little effort went into it.

Gabby S.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was nice. It was cleaner than the place next-door. Frankie was very nice. Just wish they would have gave us more chicken in our rice bowls other than that the food was very good.
google avatar

Harry H.

Yelp
Sorry to say that a chef needs to learn how to make ramen again. YouTube can give you a lot of help to you. Cup noodles or Instant ramen is better than here. Noodles are still hard and even didn't try to mix soup. I tied miso ramen. No umami or dashi taste. One of worst ramen I paid to eat. Sorry I can't even give one star. This is tough words but this is for you.
google avatar

Jimmy M.

Yelp
Ramen was decent bordering on good. It's not legit Japanese Ramen though. The soup flavor was good, the noodles were decent, a little more Chinese style though. Unfortunately the Chashu (roasted pork slices) was bland. If a friend asked me to meet them here for dinner, I wouldn't turn them down. But if I was picking the place there are better Ramen places around.

Bobby N.

Yelp
Excellent ramen broth and service. There was an unexpectedly huge crowd but service handled it amazingly. Great work and thanks so much!
google avatar

Shelby G.

Yelp
Delicious ramen stop close to the mall and downtown hotels. Seating inside is limited, but does the trick. Would definitely come back when in the mood for ramen.
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
The only positive if that the food was ready super fast. It was the worse ramen we've ever had. We orders the black garlic, veggie and tonkotsu ramen and all of them were mediocre at best. The meat was tough and the portions were small for the price.

Safe B.

Yelp
The ramen here really was not good nor was the price worth it. I had the spicy black garlic ramen which I was told was popular. The ramen broth lacked flavor, the 2 small slices of pork tasted stale and certainly not fresh, and the $2 boiled egg was overcooked. Noodles appeared to be tasteless and did not complement the ingredients. Service was fine, place was clean but no where close to ramen that you would be used to. You're better off with microwave cheap ramen as that would have better flavor and adding your own chicken or pork to it. Quite disappointing. Will not go back here.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
I've been a ruined by having Ramen in Japan and making a very flavorful dish at home. I am often disappointed when trying Ramen and this place didn't disappoint. Their broth had a nice little spice and was not bland at all. The chicken had some char from being cooked in a grill. I would come here again.

Ashanti B.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I had the Seafood Ramen and my Partner had the Tonkostu Ramen. We also ordered Chicken wings that came out piping hot/fresh!
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Picked up ramen from here for lunch the other day. Inside was fairly busy at lunch time (around 12pm) - but my order was ready very quickly. I went with the tonkotsu ramen - and didn't make any modifications to it. The broth was very rich and flavorful, and the bowl itself was packed with yummy goodness (pork, mushrooms, boiled egg, bamboo shoots, sprouts, and fresh green onions). You can also choose your spiciness level -I went mildly spicy and it was perfect! Looking forward to coming ask and trying more of the menu!

Mikayla H.

Yelp
The food is so delicious. Amazing flavors made fresh to order. Very polite and friendly staff. It was quiet as far as customers but a nice relaxed environment. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Rose L.

Yelp
Tried multiple ramen dishes... in a span of 3 days. (I had help, don't worry.) 1) Shoyu ramen 2) Tonkotsu ramen 3) Black garlic ramen 4) Seafood ramen The soups have all been great, the noodles cooked well, and the meat is super tender. The workers are so dedicated -- the main cashier man told us that he lived 1.5 hours away and drove there when we had that big snowstorm last week. So much respect.
google avatar

Alice C.

Yelp
We wanted to find a ramen place on 16th street. And this was nice, definitely your solid ramen joint. It wasnt mind blowing but definitely not bad. I would come back again. The black garlic ramen, they give you actual small cloves of black garlic which I personally loved. The ramen was on the spicer side when you want mild. You get corn in the black garlic ramen which I loved! They karaage was great and they chicken was already very flavorful even without the spicy Mayo. The gyoza was ok they were just deep fried nothing special.
