The day we had our lunch reservation, it rained heavily in the Lake District. Considering the cancellation fee, we struggled through the rain from Bowness to Amberside, but unexpectedly, it turned out to be a delightful meal. It was even one of the top 3 dining experiences of our whole UK trip. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Lake District. The restaurant's service was very friendly and professional. Based on recommendations, we ordered various appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Each dish was very satisfying. The Pigeon Breast was cooked like steak, juicy and sweet. The fish, Mackerel, was not fishy at all but with a good flavor. The dessert was a mousse with gingerbread, which I found to be very distinctive and delicious.

We had a beautiful meal with you yesturday evening, by far the best meal we have had in the lakes to date. Lovely staff, food very well presented, and allergies taken into consideration. Wine recommendations with each meal went really nicely with the meals we chose. Lovely atmosphere.

We received vouchers to dine here for our engagement and it was a lovely little treat. It is an A La Carte style menu with matching wine suggestions and there are plenty of options for everyone. All of the courses were beautifully cooked and presented and the staff were lovely! The only thing that didn’t wow me was the dessert and I love a good pud but overall the experience was 5*

A wonderful evening with top class food and excellent service. The staff were so helpful with food and wine choices for both one vegetarian and one meat eater. We would definitely recommend booking well in advance to anyone visiting Ambleside. Can’t wait to try the sister restaurant ‘The Stamp House’. Children on the next table, happy and content. Good atmosphere and chatty between tables. Good friendly ambience. Would recommend to all family and friends. Well deserving of our five stars.

We had a superb meal here. Warm and inviting restaurant with great atmosphere and fabulous food. The staff went out of their way to tweak certain dishes to cater for our dietary requirements. Would highly recommend.

Everything was 5 stars. It was our wedding anniversary so decided a treat was required. This exceeded our expectations. We chose to go with the wine pairing for each course and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I would definitely eat at Kysty again. We had a great night and we so well looked after by the staff. The food was truly incredible.

Hidden in a small alleyway away from the busy streets of Ambleside we discovered an hidden gem for culinary delight ;-) Bistro has a charming atmosphere and amazing staff providing a top notch service to guests. This was accompanied with amazing dishes that we enjoyed fully by us and our kids. Pre dinner snacks and bread were well presented and super yummy !! Venison and Fish mains were super yummy see photos. Accompanied by a good wine and local gin selection. Great evening out with delicate and well prepared food. Definitely will be visiting again in our next trip in Lake District Well done chef and team.

This is a hidden gem. The ambiance is lovely and the decor, tableware and furniture was modern rustic and charming. The food was out of this world. The amuse-bouche were delightful and a lovely touch. All courses were absolutely delicious, so well presented and all components perfectly complimented each other. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, not pretentious, but classy. The staff were friendly, explained each course well and were attentive. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit and can't wait to go back again.
