"For elevated Korean barbecue, KyungBokKung has made a name for itself in Korea with over 45 locations and a dozen more throughout Asia. The restaurant prioritizes top-tier meat quality, particularly with its prime beef and wagyu offerings. For those looking for a more well-rounded feast, KyungBokKyung also provides various course meals — three options of traditional Korean meals known as hanjeongsik as well as barbecue options that come with various sides and delicacies, including mung bean jelly salad and beef tartare. Dining here is noticeably more serene than your average Korean barbecue experience, thanks to the sleek interior design, near-silent vents, and smokeless charcoal." - Cathy Park

Definitely a fan of this place. The aesthetics are really nice for a kbbq place. A huge highlight is their wagyu, which was expensive but wow… the taste and texture were amazing quality! And finally on top of my list is the flavored bbq which came out wonderfully! I also got the kimchi jjigae, which was an A in my book. To top it off they gave us that cinnamon/persimmon drink which is a must for sweet lovers

Google
This place has a really cool vibe! Posh atmosphere except it’s odd that the napkins are small, square, paper cocktail napkins. Anyway, food and service are great. The Bibimbop came with lots of banchan, and the kimchi is as good as oma’s. 5 stars!

Google
Surprisingly good, initially thought it was just an overpriced Korean BBQ place but I would say for the experience and meat quality it is worth it. We got the marinated beef short rib for our meat choice and it was so marbled, flavorful and delicious. It’s not cheap it is pricey but if ur in the mood for quality beef, would recommend. Not sure why some reviews say they end the meal hungry, we were full at the end and can barely finish. We had good beers served as well. Bill came up to $100 per person. Definitely a place to treat yourself and indulge in fine dining, they grill the meat for you and cut it. Everything is done in a bougie manner. Service is top notch. Many parking spots. I think one course set can fulfill two people, for those who are not that hungry. One negative thing is we were disappointed of the platter of 9 delicacies, very misleading.

Google
🌸Very classic style, health-based (therefore high quality), palace type of Korean food. I came here with my grandma, mom, and two young sons and the flavor profile for the $80 course meal/person will appease all those age ranges and parties. You don’t go here for taste, but to indulge in the senses and the food as it is in its stillness and presence; it is kind of Japanese in that sense. The course meal is beautiful in its simplicity, with 죽 that’s easy to digest for the kids and the kalbi 갈비 which was the best tasting kalbi I’ve had. The service from the waiters was memorable - quiet and professional but also filled with a buzzing warmth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Surprisingly good, initially thought it was just an overpriced Korean BBQ place but they gave us a surprising amount of beef. Beef was so marbled, flavorful and delicious. Ashley was a great waitress and I feel like it’s been a while since I had such good service at restaurant. It’s not cheap it is pricey but if ur in the mood for quality beef, would recommend.

Google
Their cold noodles (물냉면) and galbi combo is really good!! Probably the best 냉면 & 갈비 I've eaten 🍜🥩. The rice cake soup (떡구) was pretty good too (just like a homemade comfort dish) 🍲. The service and atmosphere is great. Don't recommend the wagyu and spicy cold noodles though. The wagyu wasn't that good and the spicy cold noodles was kind of salty. Other than those, I highly recommend the other dishes!!

First time visit. Went with Korean friend. We had one of their set meals. Per friend, the food was more traditional than other Korean restaurants. It was good but I was not used to some of the flavors. The restaurant was very clean and decor was beautiful. Service was excellent though my friend did all the talking in Korean. With tip, total was -$180 for two and we did not have any alcohol.

Yelp
Great dining experience with important guests. Made reservations for 4 people. The front desk hostess was super friendly and professional. As you walk in, was greeted with very warm welcoming and cheerful music but bit loud to my liking. I loved the clean modern interior. All the seats had private booth, less distraction so you can focus on your guests. Service was excellent. Food came out nice orderly fashion, visually pleasing and appetizing. Love the presentation but the eating plate was bit too small and flat with pedestal so if you add sauces, it would drip over the plate. Marinade BBQ short rib was a bomb, super moist, tender and perfectly seasoned. So end up order extra. We ordered : **Gu jul pan ( nine varieties of veggies & meats with small mini pancakes ) ** Mo deum jun ( varieties of mini pancakes ) ** 3 orders of marinated BBQ ribs ** 2 side of cold noodles soup /1spicy noodles mix Special order of seaweed soup set as complimentary for birthday guest, which was very impressive. Over All experience was wonderful bit pricy but it was great place to bring important guests to make them feel little special. Service & atmosphere was excellent. Want to come back :)

Yelp
Went here on a Friday night with a group of friends, and it was a fantastic experience! The restaurant has a warm, welcoming ambiance, and we were seated in one of their VIP rooms--spacious and perfect for our group of six. We opted for the premium beef grill course, and wow, it was a feast! There was so much food, and we enjoyed every bit of it. Our favorites were the spicy beef tartare and pan-fried sliced beef. For the grill, we chose marinated galbi, beef tongue, and boneless short ribs, and they were all amazing--perfectly marinated and tender. We were pretty much stuffed after the beef course and couldn't make it through the next three courses! Ended up packing the spicy cold noodles and cold noodles to go. The cinnamon tea at the end was delicious, but we were too full to finish it. Shoutout to our server, Yoon, who was super entertaining and kept us laughing throughout the night. Great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere--definitely a place worth coming back to!

Yelp
This is a great place for gatherings, with private rooms available for larger groups. The interior is lovely, the prices are reasonable, and the food was fantastic! Although I wouldn't highly recommend the assorted pancakes, as they were just okay, the fried horse mackerel was incredibly delicious--it was my first time trying it. The braised short ribs were also worth it. We enjoyed so many different dishes, each one a delight. If you love Korean food, definitely give this place a try! Cons: The servers were kind, but they seemed short-staffed. It was hard to get a server's attention when we needed help, even after pressing the bell multiple times. Still, I would definitely go back for the food!

Richard Y.

Yelp
A higher end Korean dining experience-- from the decor, to the service, to the presentation of food and prices. We enjoyed a large group Holiday dinner here. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we appreciated the call button responsiveness. None were in the mood for KBBQ , so we ordered entrees -- the bento boxes were perfect. The galbi, the squid and pork, and the eel were presented with aged Kim chee, jap chae, stuffed perilla leaves, and rice with tamagotchi. The combination of textures and flavors were just so darn good. A keeper!

Yelp
My family and I were pleasantly surprised by the food! We've been before a few times over the past years, were never really impressed, and thought it wasn't worth the price. We went back a few months ago and the set menu was really unique from any other Korean restaurant in OC, and most importantly tasted good too. The fact that my Korean grandma loved it really says a lot. It's a great place to go if you're looking for something a little more upscale.

Rungsima V. T.

Yelp
Very good quality kbbq. The service is great. The best part is you can run errands after eating there, no one can tell that you just had kbbq.

Yelp
Food: Beef Special Grill Course ($69 + tax/tip) - 1) Porridge/Salad/Radish Water Kimchi, 2) Spicy Beef Tartare/Pan-Fried Sliced Beef/Cold Salad-Scallops + Shrimp Salad/Mung Bean Jelly Salad, 3) Marinated Beef Short Rib, 4) Fried Dish/Seasonal Soup, 5) Buckwheat Noodle, 6) Cinnamon Tea, 7) Dessert-Rice Custard w/ Roasted Soybean Powder + Sugar - WOW!!! This was a really good deal, but even more important the food tasted excellent!!! Some of the dishes I've had before like kkaennip kimchi (perilla leaf kimchi) was really good. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. The Marinated Beef Short Rib (galbi) was cooked over binchotan/daimyo (oak branch charcoal). Service: great, personal service in a private room; they cook the galbi for you and cut it up into smaller bite-sized pieces Design: interiors is a combination of contemporary with Korean styling touches throughout; light-to-medium wood tones throughout with paper lanterns Overall: One of the best elevated Korean dining experiences I've had in So Cal. I definitely recommend the course menu.

Yelp
An extremely well decorated establishment that reminded me of Korea! First great impression. My friend and I went at an awkward hour on a Sunday so it was pretty much empty. Service was okay - the server appeared sick and was coughing, yet still served. Another server that seated us was in shambles with silverware and napkins dropping on the floor numerous times. My friend and I thought it was funny and we didn't care too much. With that, I gave it 5 stars because the food was great!! It outweighed everything else. Totally worth the premium price and left extremely satisfied with everything that came out. I plan on going again and recommend you try it as well!

Michelle K.

Yelp
This is definitely an upscale KBBQ experience, especially with the decor alone. When you walk towards the building, the outside is already playing classical music which sets you up for a refined experience. We ordered the Special Han-JeongSik and overall the food was flavorful and delicious. I was so full already halfway through so I had to mentally prep myself to continue after each course. All the flavors are accurate, and I was pleasantly surprised by the textures and tenderness of all the dishes.

Ada Y.

Yelp
I love the Han Jeongsik menus here. It's super filling and so much variety! I am a fan of almost all the dishes they serviced (the ones that aren't is more of a personal preference not that it tastes bad). You do have to make a reservation ahead of time for the han jeongsik or the grill course menu. Just let them know when you text them it's for this option for X amount of ppl. The aunties here that help serve the food are so friendly and helpful although it does also feel super rushed at times because there are so many courses for them to cycle through!

Curtis A.

Yelp
Fantastic KBBQ experience. Felt like royalty with the nice decor and platings. Solid meats and solid side dishes

Yelp
KyungBokKung was such a fantastic Korean dining experience. We had 7pm reservations here on a Thursday for 3 people to celebrate a homie's birthday. KyungBokKung is reservation only BTW and I heard they will turn you away if you show up without reservations. However, we were 30 minutes late to reservation but they were happy to take us. You can order food a la carte or you can choose one of their set menu choices. We were interested in either the BBQ Grill option or the Traditional option. After talking to their knowledgable staff we decided on the $89 BBQ grill option. It included the following and its description: Porridge- This was really good and the portion was small. It was a great starter item. Salad and cold soup- The salad had a sweet light dressing. The cold soup was refreshing. Both were great start items. Pan Fried Sliced Beef- It was served with some greens and raw onions. It was pretty good but I could have skipped this dish. Japchae- The glass noodles were done and seasoned just right here. They were pretty good. Tartare- This was my absolute favorite thing all night. I've never had tartare that was so well seasoned and delicious. We all loved it. Scallops & shrimp- They came out in the scallop shell and was a nice presentation. It was refreshing, light, and delicious. It was also one of our favorites. Platter of 9 delicacies- This was a house made wrap with 8 items for you to wrap. It was served with the most delicious honey mustard tasting sauce. I'm glad we tried it but I think next time I can do without it. It was just so filling and we hadn't even gotten to our meats yet. Meats- For meats we went with their beef short rib and rib eye. Both were really good and the nice waitress cooked our meats perfectly for us. They served it with some salt, pickled greens, and some mushrooms. We really enjoyed the meats. Soup- There was a filling soup that came out that we all didn't care for. It tasted like a mix of grits and baby food. We probably could have done without it. Grilled eel- This was also one of my favorites. We each got two fat pieces of eel. It was fatty and delicious. No regrets. Fried fish- These were also really good. I think she said it was mackerel but I am unsure. It was a flaky white fish that was enjoyable. 3 types of Pancakes- included spinah, original flavor, and spicy flavor. I only had the spicy pancakes and thought it was okay. We were just so full at that point. Cold noodles- It was made with nice buckwheat noodles, egg, and some cucumbers. It was simple yet delicious with more vinegar. Spicy Cold Noodles- This was also pretty good. Just make sure to mix and cut with the scissors provided. Stew- It had a taste of light stinky tofu, which I actually liked. But like I mentioned before, we were just so full to eat more of it. It definitely was well done and delicious though Make sure to ask for their house made kim chi to eat with all your food. They were pretty good. Also, at the end we had some mochi and a sweet drink. The waitress felt bad for rushing us since their kitchen closed at 8pm so she hooked us up with some free ice cream macarons. The macarons were pistachio and the ice cream part was a light coconut ice cream. Yum! The service was excellent although we felt rushed. I thought 8pm for a kitchen closing was a tad early. We also ordered a lot of alcohol which were all good. Our meal was about $100-$150 per person. It's definitely a place to splurge. KyungBokKung is a great spot for celebrating with Korean food. The inside is really nice but has a chill vibe. I like that each sitting area felt pretty private. I highly recommend if you are looking for a spot to celebrate and love Korean food. Parking is easy since they have their own lot.

Lili K.

Yelp
I love how they take reservations via text-they responded right away, too! My baby loved the jook rice dish, and downed a couple bowls the meat is always good here, as well as the japchae, tofu soup, etc! This place is so spacious and perfect for large parties (we came with a party of 7)!

Annie K.

Yelp
Celebrated my mom's birthday dinner here with a tasting menu. We had a semi-private dining space which we were able to decorate which was very nice. Some traditional items and some items with a modern/unique twist. Very unique dining experience for a Korean restaurant in OC. Parking was easy and service was friendly, though the A/C didn't seem to be working and so even with the extra fans they provided some of my guests were very hot.

Tina ..

Yelp
I did the wagyu premium course and it comes with so many dishes! Every time we thought the course was over they would surprise us with more dishes. They definitely paced the meal really well, because as soon as we finished one course, the next course would come by. I really liked the service here. Our waiter went out of his way to fill our water cups, check in on us, and he would even trim the burnt parts of our meat even if it was a very small part. The amount of detail and care that goes into the service here is absolutely exceptional. The interior is absolutely beautiful as well. It's a wonderful place to eat and celebrate with others. The meat quality is also insanely good. Definitely must try the wagyu meat here, you won't be disappointed.

Ariana O.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I highly recommend eating their premium Platter of 9 Delicacies. The quality of the meat was so outstanding, the marinated meat was a dream. Shoutout to our server Quan for his recommendations, he was amazing!

Janet K.

Yelp
2nd time eating here for big celebration lunch party eating the Premium Han-JeongSik! The food is very delicious and there are a variety of dishes everyone can enjoy from the Premium Menu. The Radish Soup in the pink color is very refreshing to the palette as we prepare to feast on many different dishes! The menu is very large and A LOT of food! The entire Premium Menu is provided so you don't pick and choose what you would like. You get everything on the Menu from the Tartare, Raw Meat, Porridge (YUM) , Glass Noodles (LOVE) , Braised Beef (WOW the Braised Beef is so tender, soft, and flavorful) and so forth) until you reach the final course journey with a refreshing palette cleansing cold Cinnamon Drink and Mozarella Cheesecake Bites. Service was great as the servers work hard to provide the food on time and put all the dishes away catering to our big party. The first time coming, the service was slow but this second time, the service was rapid fire and foods kept coming out! We left full and satisfied! We really appreciate the wheelchair accessibility at the restaurant too with the parking structure, restroom, and the navigation of the place. The restaurant is very spacious and comfortable. We have elders that have wheelchairs and they approve this restaurant. This is our go-to Korean restaurant to gather for reunions or for big celebrations! Thank you for taking care of us and we will be back soon!

Eric K.

Yelp
A luxurious Korean restaurant with a sophisticated atmosphere and Korean food ingredients. The standard of Korean food is faithful to the basics, and the variety of food is diverse and good-looking, making it a great place to serve guests. The taste of the food seems a little weak... but everyone has different tastes. I praise the very fast and friendly staff for their workmanship. The best place for family or friend gatherings.

Iris P.

Yelp
Third time visiting. Everything was really great and satisfying except for that it is overpriced. Good for some important and formal dinners.

Grace K.

Yelp
Came for a course meal and was served with delicious foods that I've never tried before. The perilla soup was so good! A reservation is required for the highest level course menu which is titled VVIP I think but the other course menus can be ordered on demand! We had a very nice and attentive server and she was very kind to us and explained all the different types of foods and method of eating certain dishes. A bit pricy but I think it's worth for what is given!!

Jolie J.

Yelp
This Korean restaurant is definitely somewhere you can take out of town guests or family who is visiting from afar. Beautiful decor (private alcoves for each table gives an intimate feel to your dining experience). Classy ambience (light jazz playing from the parking lot into the restrooms and the dining area). Prices are very high but is justified by the quality of the food. The side dishes (banchan) were not the typical sides you would usually get at a Korean restaurant (I missed having kimchi), but they were tasty. Pros: Ample parking. Close to Porto's. Elevated dining experience. Decent wine list. Extensive menu. Cons: service was slow and a little snooty, except for the hostess who was very sweet and chatty Note: Asian restaurants tend to have bad service because they are usually understaffed (the exceptions are definitely Din Tai Fung & Kang Hodong Baekjeong KBBQ), so to alleviate this problem this restaurant installed buttons to ring for service.

Caitlin V.

Yelp
I went with my friend to Kyung Bok Kung last week. It was our first time there and it was a fantastic, fun dining experience. We made a reservation beforehand, and if you want a set course meal, like the BBQ Grill Course that we both ordered, it is reservation only. You just have to let them know ahead of time before you get there. When you walk in, it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The decor is beautiful and we enjoyed the ambience. It is definitely upscale Korean BBQ and cuisine. We also liked that we didn't have to cook the marinated beef short ribs ourselves. That was a nice treat. The BBQ Grill Course for $89/per person consists of porridge, salad, radish water, kimchi, spicy beef tartar, pan-fried sliced beef, cold salad, a platter of 9 delicacies, glass noodles with vegetables, marinated beef short ribs, fried fish, seasonal soup, grilled eel, tricolor pancakes, cold noodles, soy bean paste soup, crispy rice soup, and traditional tea. It sounds like a lot of food, which it was, but the portions are small. Some dishes were better than others. Some were too spicy for us. Some just had a weird texture that we weren't use to. We were full by the end, but we still had room for dessert. We shared a Thai Tea ice cream macaron, and it was the perfect end to our dinner.

Hannle P.

Yelp
Love the ambiance and the food! Forgot to take pictures of what we ordered. So we picked the $69 per person course & it was more than enough for a party of 5. I would come back with an empty stomach to try out their other options.

Kevin L.

Yelp
We ordered the VIP Han Jeongshik course meal at $65 per person. Each plate of food is pre-portioned for the number of people ordering the jeongshik. The portions were small amounting to two or three bites per item. Everything was pretty good albeit nothing was outstanding. The best dishes were the braised short ribs and the bean paste soup with rice. The service was pretty good except they rushed us to leave at the end, even though we had only been there an hour. The booths are modern, spacious and overall the environment is beautiful. Value-wise, $65 seems a bit too expensive for the amount and quality of food (taste and presentation) offered.

Fan H.

Yelp
Fatty has been eating and taking photos, but lacking on posting, so, we sorry. We tried the Korean royalty dishes at Kyungbokking Korean BBQ in Buena Park. The spot does BBQ for the most part and only serves the royalty menu from Tuesdays to Fridays with reservations. After 3 attempts, we finally went on a Wednesday night for our meal. The staff were friendly and there were 3 tiers of different courses to get on the menu. They were $65 special, $89 premium, and $109 vvip. We picked the vvip which gave us all of the dishes. The dishes came in 4 different waves, and each wave came with 4 to 5 different things to try. Kind of like appetizers, cold courses, hot courses, and carb set at the end. Since we went for birthday celebration, we also got the seaweed soup set on top of what we got. Before we get into how the food taste, we must mention this. While the staff were friendly, they were rushing our courses like crazy. The staff would bring the next course before we finished the course that we were working on. Then he would ask us if he could take away the dishes that we hadn't started yet. It was seriously wtf moment. With that said, most of our food were cold when we got to it. Hence, it wasn't fair for us to give a fair assessment on taste due to the service provided. Overall experience was not good. We felt we wasted $200+ because the rushing service. We were impressed by the variety of the food received, but we would not go back again because we would like to enjoy our food.

Yelp
This establishment is in Buena Park on Beach Blvd near Knott's Berry Farm, Medieval times, Pirates Dinner Adventure, and Porto's. From the outside, it is unassuming, and I've easily driven past it many times without noticing it. The restaurant looks like it's in the middle of a parking lot. Thus, parking is ample. This establishment is my mom's go-to. She loves this place! She says the decor is traditional but modernized and simple. I completely agree! This restaurant is considered upscale as they serve premium Korean food, simulating the Korean royal court cuisine aka Surasang. They serve bbq in courses and a la carte. I usually make reservations in order to sit in semi private cubicles. I have ordered lunch boxes, lunch sets, and a la carte in my previous visits. Everything I have tried here has been delicious. The food tastes clean yet flavorful!

Helen C.

Yelp
I have regrets. I should've ordered the Wagyu cuts and other entree dishes, but I wanted to venture out and do something different by ordering the Special Han Jeongsik ($69 per person). Honestly, the Special Han Jeongsik course was just okay to me. I probably liked a solid 3 dishes out of the 12 dishes that they gave me. Originally, I was going to rate this place 3 stars, but my waitress was so nice. She didn't speak a lot of English but she was patient and kind to me, so I'm giving this place 4 stars for the great service and I haven't tried their premium items yet to unfairly rate 3 stars The ambiance is very fancy and nice. Even the customers around me looked pretty glammed up. I'm glad I dressed up alittle too, even if I didn't do much lol. Parking lot is pretty huge, but idk how crazy it would be during their peak hours I wanna try this place again in the future for their premium cuts, but it'll have to be on a day that I feel like splurging and making the effort to make reservations

Eddie K.

Yelp
this place may be ok for american palate but koreans should stay away as this is not authentic by any means... everything is cloyingly sweet... its too bad as I think the western tourists would appreciate authentic korean flavors. Not coming back.

Ron P.

Yelp
Came here with a reservation for 6. All of us got the naengmyun and galbi combo which was good, but probably doesn't justify the price(?) Had a good time but maybe I'll try something else next time :)

Raquel L.

Yelp
This restaurant is closed on Monday's. Came here to meet friends. This Korean Bbq restaurant has a la cart items on their menu and is not your usual all you can eat. They actually cook it for you which is a nice change. The quality of their meats is exceptional. It's not fatty and just good red meat. The sides that comes when dining here are different as well. You will have your kimichi, but the other sides are different. The ambience of this place is pretty classy and really enjoyed dining here. The staff is very nice and attentive to their customers. Reservations is recommended. The one thing that was really a nice touch is that they have a bell on each end of the table for you to ring if you need your waiter/server. Wish all sit down restaurants had that. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Samantha S.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is beautiful and enormous. Lots of tables in the front and private rooms towards the back. I came by for a one year old birthday and they supplied all the decorations. Service was amazing, they cook for you and their staff was very friendly. The quality of the meat was top tier too. I would have to say this was by far the best Korean BBQ I've been to.

Eunice S.

Yelp
I always have been wanting to introduce my friends to a true Korean traditional meal someday because there is more than Korean BBQ in Korean cuisine and my mother recommended this place. The restaurant is very clean, beautiful and chic. The front desk moves the line quickly. We had a private room, which holds 8 people and it was nice and roomy. If you want the course, you have to make a reservation and let them know which course you would like the day before. You cannot walk-in and order a course. Also, please note that if you reserve for four people, all four people have to order the same course. You cannot split to two different courses. The server was very nice, thoughtful, kind and fast. I didn't let the restaurant know that our party was celebrating my birthday and she brought a birthday table that has three side dishes, rice and a seaweed soup. It made the day more special. All the meals were well balanced. None of them were extremely spicy, salty or sweet, which gives me an idea that they don't use MSG. You might think it's not enough but you will get full by end of the course. Overall, wonderful experience and I can't wait to bring my family next time.

John V.

Yelp
Kyungbokkung offers a tasty tour of Korean cuisine in a cozy setting. The dishes, like bulgogi and spicy tofu stew, are well-prepared and flavorful. The staff is friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience. While portion sizes could be a bit bigger for the price, and some dishes lacked a bit of punch, overall, it's a great spot for authentic Korean food lovers. We were walk-in so had to settle with the a la carte menu, would definitely come back with a reservation to try the presets.

Sarah P.

Yelp
I came here to celebrate my grandma's birthday. The food was so good. We got the marinated eel box, galbi, and neungmyun. The eel was so good and juicy. I also loved the galbi and neungmyun was tasty. The side dishes were also delicious. Everything was seasoned so perfectly and I would definitely come here again!

Robyn H.

Yelp
Delicious! Ive done the sets and the a la carte and everything has been good quality and a good amount of food. If you do the set be prepared the EAT! I can never finish the whole set. Sad its getting more popular because i want to be selfish, happy for them for getting more business

Johnny L.

Yelp
The food was great! We ordered the beef grill course with the marinated short rib, boneless short rib and an order of beef tongue. Had no issues with any of the dishes that came out. Loved the interior and ambience. Wasn't loud so a really nice place for a date. The service was great! He let us take our time and asked us if we were ready for the next course did not rush us at all. Spent a good 2-3hrs there. Would definitely be back.

Kathy T.

Yelp
We booked a private room here to celebrate my son's 100 day (baek-il). Plenty of parking and service was amazing -- I appreciate that they let us come a little early to set up and they didn't rush us when we were taking pictures. It was easy to communicate via text as well for the reservation (phone # on website). We ordered their BBQ Special Grill Course for $65 per person, which is a coursed meal with bite sized dishes. I thought it was going to not be enough food, so we were expecting to need to order some a la carte dishes but it ended up being very filling! Everyone really enjoyed the meal and the quality of the meat. The perilla soup and fried shrimp were especially tasty! It was the perfect place to host our 100 days celebration with family. The room could accommodate up to 16 adults. We were able to fit a small 4 foot table for the decorations in between the two tables that could seat 8 each (not moveable). I highly recommend if you're looking for quality food or even looking to host a small event.

Yelp
The food was amazing! My family and friends got the Beef Premium Grill Course, and we all loved the spicy beef tartare, marinated beef short rib, and the kongchee with tea! Everything was delicious, and we were all full by dessert. The waiter was very patient and nice, explaining every dish with detail. The environment was very welcoming, and the ambience is pretty eventful but you do have private dining. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes Korean BBQ! Definitely would come back here again

Yelp
kyungbokkungusa is a great place to discover Korean bbq in traditional way. They have beautiful interior design with many traditional Korean royal style, and I like their table set up which is great privacy for each group of customers. They have many menu options, but we chose Wagyu Premium Grill Course meal . Which had a lot of food . The set included pumpkin porridge , salad , and kimchi . Personally I loved the porridge a lot that was a great appetizer for start a big meal . Next the cold dishes were pretty nice with unique flavors . And the main star of the night was the wagyu , the meat quality was great , and the taste was incredible. However not much meat as I expected for the price of the set menu . But all the grilled dishes came after the meat were nice, and all the soups choices were over loaded my stomach. In the end , the traditional cinnamon tea really helps the wash out and great start for mochi dessert . Overall, they meal was a nice experience and great way to enjoy Korean bbq

Yelp
Not an AYCE. Pricey and more upscale than your typical Korean BBQ joint. I'm all for quality over quantity and the meat quality here is good but not the best we've had out of all the Korean BBQ restaurants we've been to in SoCal. I guess if you take in everything else like their fancy cutlery, stoneware, charcoal grill, uncommon unique banchans, gourmet rock salt, and impeccably clean environment... one can argue that their price is justified. Service is average but should be above average at a place like this where we're spending hundreds on dinner. A major complaint is some of the waiters here do not respect personal space. They get way too close for comfort that you can literally smell their perfume/cologne, personal body odors if any, and even down to the smell of their hair products. I can probably even guess the shampoo our server washed her hair with... she was THAT CLOSE. It was ridiculous and rather annoying. She did not respect our personal space. We don't want her hair, dandruff, or dead skin cells falling into our banchans or over our meats either. If she feels that her arms are too short to reach over the grill, perhaps she should work the front desk or work elsewhere that doesn't require her to "reach". She wasn't wearing a hair net or face mask, which is fine, but if you're going without... make sure you're keeping a good distance from the people especially the food that they plan on consuming. We managed to finish what we ordered because we don't like wasting, and we would have ordered more if the server didn't make us lose our appetite. Not to mention, she has "accidentally" elbowed one of us and stepped on a foot. IF THAT doesn't tell you she was overstepping the boundaries... Please train your staff to be more conscious as well as the importance of "personal space" when serving or dealing with customers. While some may not have a problem with it, I'm sure there are others like us that actually mind but don't want to be mean about it. There needs to be some sort of PROFESSIONAL RESPECTFUL boundary that needs to be set with every staff server. Almost forgot, our waiter never showed up after pressing the service button a few different times. We had to flag her down while she was on her way to a different table. Don't know if the service button was working or not but each time we had to get someone's attention or ask the water server to call for her. The only times she showed up was to tend to the meat and bring dessert after. On another more positive note, the sweet Black Front Host really impressed us. We heard her speak Korean pretty well. Usually the majority of the staff are Korean so it's refreshing to see some diversity that we don't see often in these types of establishments. Don't get me wrong, I'm not down with the "DEI" thing but I can still appreciate diversity whenever I see it, especially since I am a minority POC myself. Anyway, I like the Host a lot as she is so sweet and always smiling. A happy friendly person up at the front helps a great deal. The banchans were unique and not the typical ones you see at most Korean restaurants but I felt like they were lacking in flavor and substance. We had better banchans at less expensive AYCE restaurants which says a lot. The soup we got was delicious and we really enjoyed it a lot. I also like their side salad which had the perfect amount of dressing that wasn't sour, too sweet, or overpowering. The meats were decent but we had some pieces that were a little hard to chew. FYI, there are no meat sauces to dip your meat in. You have their gourmet rock salt to flavor your meat if needed, unless you order your meat pre-marinated. We were at 3 - 3.5 stars for this place but given the experience we recently had, I have to give them 2 stars. I really hope they speak to their staff about 'respecting space'. How can we eat comfortably with someone constantly in our space? We may or may not return because there are plenty of other nice and less expensive 4-5 star Korean BBQ restaurants we love that do not create such annoyances during our dining experience.

Yelp
Dont get the hype of this place. Reserved for premium BBQ dinner for birthday celebration. My sister's porriage was bit sour than mine and my mom's. Japchae was so dry so none of us touched and sent back and no server were asking whats wrong with the dish. That is definetly not $$$ service. It was nice of them bring seaweed soup and the dessert for our birthday girl. Have some good foods but not the best.

Yelp
KyungBokKung has really gotten better as the years have gone by in terms of taste an quality! Two years ago this place would have been a solid 4 stars but I would definitely put it at a solid 4.5 (minus .5 because some of their dishes are just way too sweet like the water radish kimchi, the shrimp, seaweed and cucumber salad, and pickled sesame leaf). POSITIVES -Quality - y'all quality of beef has gone up! I had the flower beef, unmarinated short rib, and a whole bunch of other cuts I can't recall but they were all really great quality. -They cook your meat for you here! -They have a special traditional birthday tray with seaweed soup, rice and traditional ban Chan that comes to the birthday girl which was really sweet! NEUTRALS - There's a good amount of parking but not really enough for the entire restaurant when it's the weekend at dinner or other popular times. Unfortunately there's no other options for parking that's nearby so just be sure you come early enough to snag a spot! - Super minor but the hot tea was not hot at all - like very lukewarm tea NEGATIVES - The beef tongue was a letdown - a little too thick so it was a bit chewy - Some dishes are just unnecessarily sweet still (which was my main grief with this place previously) Overall this is one of my favorite places to get Korean and has gotten better so if you haven't tried to recently, I would highly recommend checking it out again - I was pleasantly surprised!

Yelp
High-quality Korean food and impeccable service! This place is perfect for a special occasion and offers a wide variety of delicious Korean food for all age groups. They take reservations through text message and the entire process was very easy. I let them know the date, time, and party size and that we were not doing the course menu. The ambiance of the restaurant is upscale with moody lighting and has separate "rooms" where the tables are sectioned off with these beautiful wooden separators, so it was nice and private. My grandma is not a huge meat eater so we ordered everything a la carte. We started off with 2 orders of the marinated galbi and the fried croaker. Honestly, the amount of banchan they give you is more than enough for a sizable appetizer. Each banchan was also seasoned perfectly. My dad raved about the marinated galbi and it was really delicious! Perfectly tender and just the right amount of sweetness - we obviously had to order some naengmyun to finish the meal off and eat the remaining galbi with. The service was fast and attentive, and our waitress constantly came in to check up on us and refill banchans as needed. This place is definitely on the pricier side so I'd probably come back for another special occasion or holiday. Next time, I'll try their BBQ course menu since that's what they're most known for.

Yelp
KyungBokKung serves Korean banquet food. I ordered the prefix set, which was $65 pp. Comes with beef tartare, soup, salad, noodles, and choice of meat. They cook over live coals, not gas or electric, which is a very cool experience. It is such a great experience and I would definitely come again. Lots of others also ordered the prefix set. However I wish the beef tartare wasn't so spicy, but that would be my only complaint.

Yelp
Food was good but not spectacular. Their set menu partakes in unique Korean delicacies that you may not be able to get everywhere. Service was fine and the interior is nice. Overall solid try

Yelp
Whenever my in laws side of the family gather for meals we usually always eat here in one of the private rooms with reservations. There's usually about 18-24 of us each time. We've never had an issue with scheduling because we are regulars here. Food is always high quality and consistent. We love their attention to detail with every little side dish that comes with the set meals. The staff are all very respectful with excellent noonchi. If you're a particularly picky person when it comes to restaurants this is your place to go. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
We were visiting for our Disneyland/Universal vacation, and I was in the mood for some good Korean food that puts Korean food in our area to shame. I found this place when I looked up "royal Korean food" because I wanted to try some unique Korean foods. We found this place and another place in LA. Decided to stop here, because it was closer to our hotel and kids were wanted to eat right then and there. The vibe is modern, and service is attentive and frequent. We ordered the red crab bibimbap, beef tartare, naengmyun, galbijjim, mung bean jelly, and ribeye bbq. The bibimbap does come with seaweed soup, and to note, it comes with fake crab meat. But the real treat in this bibimbap is the crab puree which is the gray paste. It's super tasty! It adds the most perfect salience to the bowl. The galbijjim wasn't super salty or sweet like most Korean places. In fact, all their foods weren't oversalted or sugared. Yay! Tasted more homemade than most places I've been. The ribeye which I wish we couldn't bbq at the table because it was too small was really good quality and yummy. The mung bean jelly salad was really refreshing. The naengmyun was more for my daughter but was really good with thin noodles and ice. It was what I remembered when I ate naengmyun as a kid. They gave us pieces of cheese with injeolmi powder (soybean) which was to die for at the end with our bill. I want to come back for full bbq experience... if we ever come back to OC and maybe also try the courses (wish I knew I needed to reserve meals ahead of time!).

Yelp
Traditional Korean preset menu. More than food this place is about atmosphere and ambiance at a premium price. Service is good. If you're Korean you can go to your mother's house and eat the same food. That being said, be prepared to go to McDonald's drive thru after eating here. Iykyk
