Robot Cat Servers Are Descending on NYC Dim Sum Parlors | Eater NY

"Kyuramen introduced two robots at its Bayside dining room (also using them at its Long Beach and Cherry Hill, NJ outposts) to cater to parents with young children and to publicize a new summer location; the robots deliver bowls of ramen and drinks to tables, serving both practical delivery needs and promotional purposes." - Luke Fortney

We had the pleasure of visiting Kyuramen for the first time to celebrate my birthday recently. We did call ahead to make sure we could reserve one of the booths, and I'm so glad we did because they were so cute. The decorations alone had us falling in love with the spot before we even had the chance to sit down and eat. The food itself was absolutely delicious. The presentation was lovely and we found ourselves wishing for a second stomach just so we could taste everything. They had this really nice deal for $30 where you could pick an app, a ramen, a drink, and a dessert. I tried the tonkotsu shouyu ramen with black garlic, the takoyaki, the cherry blossom jelly, and a jelly taro drink with the bundle, and my partner got the same ramen but with white garlic, the popcorn chicken, the mango crepe cake, and a coconut boba drink. We also picked up the cute honeycomb app platter, because we truly wanted to try a little bit of as much as we could! So glad we did too, because we loved everything. Really though, everything was delicious!! Our servers were absolutely delightful too! Super quick, attentive, and kind. They recalled that we were here for a birthday when it was mentioned off-hand while sitting down and surprised us with a cute candle and music when our desserts came out. So sweet! Big thank you to the staff for such a fun time. Overall we had an absolutely lovely time at Kyuramen and we can't wait to visit again!

Google
Talk about a great find! Got the Spicy Kyushu Ramen and omu rice as the main dishes and they both were awesome. Chasu melted in my mouth between perfectly cooked noodles and cured softboiled eggs (ajitama). I will definitely be back! (And get the soft tofu with onion dressing, perfect pair with the spice of the ramen)

Google
What a fantastic place to get some ramen. Had the pork bun, was a delight to behold. The pork buns have a sauce on them that’s creamy and the meat itself can be on the fatty side so careful to those with sensory issues, no issue for me. Next up we had a spiced Roman and the regular one. Both were excellent I personally ordered the spicy one with the two types of pork. It was the correct temperature for the broth, I didn’t think it was particularly spicy but I love spicy food. The atmosphere was fun and I felt like I was in a trendy city place vs being in a strip mall in the suburbs. Service was great and attentive. Would recommend and can’t wait to come back.

It's a very unique & pleasant experience visiting Kyuramen on our long travel. The food came very fast, the atmosphere was great and ramens were delicious. Definitely would come again as one of our road trip stops.

My family and I had a great experience at Kyuramen in Cherry Hill NJ. You can make a reservation in a private booth with a cloth door which is nice for family's with young children. It looked like you could comfortably sit 6 adults (there may also be different size booths). The food was good and the service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back.

We got a few things for an early lunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t too busy and we got seated right away. We did a $30 combo special and additional ramen. Popcorn Chicken: 4/5 - good crunch, juicy, would be better with a sauce on the side. Ramen #2 katsuobushi pork ramen: 4/5 - the tuna flakes on top gives the broth a umami taste, but to some who are not used to seafood/fish it can come off as very tuna-y. The pork is giving thick soft charsiu. Noodles are a good texture. Drink: Thai Iced Tea: very sweet, I should’ve gotten less sweet but still yummy. Dessert: matcha pudding - 3/5 - not a super sweet dessert which I liked but I wish the texture was softer. It’s a bit firm to be pudding. Pretty small. Without the combo it would be $5. Overall, a good meal. Will leave full and satisfied. In terms of price point, it’s on the higher end for ramen. ~$50 for two people with the $30 combo.

Google
The popcorn chicken was crispy and fresh. I recommend asking for some sauce on the side with it (we got spicy mayo). We got extra noodles with our ramen, as well. They come in a large bowl with more broth. The $30 combo is definitely worth buying. It fed both me and my partner. Delicious and would come again!

Google
We showed up during lunch time for a party of 5 and all had great experiences. We recommend the pork ramen and the agedashi tofu! The inside is nice & well decorated in a traditional Japanese style. The service was fast and efficient. Would definitely come here again for lunch!

Yelp
very nice setting and great customer service. The menu has many great options. not gonna like the place smelled weird when we first walked in. me and my group all ordered ramen but once our ramen came they all came with a strange smell. making them a bit unappetizing not sure if it was the seaweed or the bowl it came in. i wish i just got wings.

Yelp
Amazing food and wonderful service! Love the atmosphere, the private booths are so cozy!

Yelp
1st visit. Black garlic ramen is nice. Nice location. The fried stuff is a little on the dry side. Will stick to ramen.

Yelp
It took me ages to finally dine at Kyuramen and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and had a short wait for a table. While waiting it gave us a moment to admire the decor, the atmosphere, and multiple displays of artwork created by customers hanging around the restaurant. They have private rooms/booths you can reserve which would be perfect for a group of people, but one of these days I'd like to sit at their bar. Service was great, the staff was friendly, and our food came out quickly (and hot!). I wanted to try a variety of items. Of course I came for the ramen, but the Popcorn Chicken and Pork Bao Buns were also calling my name. My fiancé and I split the Popcorn chicken and let me tell you, it was PHENOMENAL. The crispiest, most flavorful fried chicken I've ever had in perfect bite-sized pieces. It's really a must order. I chose the Katsuobushi Pork ramen because I love pork belly and some heat. It definitely didn't disappoint. I'd order it again but there are so many other offerings I need to try before I do. My fiancé went with the original Chicken Ramen #9. This was her first ramen experience and while she did enjoy it, she's not in a rush for ramen again anytime soon. I tried hers and, as with my ramen, there was lots and lots of flavor. I also really enjoyed my first ever bao bun, but between that, the popcorn chicken, and the ramen, I did have a little too much food. I actually can't wait for my next visit. I'm going to sit at the bar. I'm going to order the Popcorn Chicken again, but this time I'm going with the Omurice. Yes, I have my next visit all planned out because I'm that excited.

Yelp
Never disappoint. My usual number 1 and number 9 bowls. They are consistently yummy. The side of tonkatsu is so crispy and not over-fried. Quick service in your own booth. Seems busy around dinner time as expected.

Yelp
It was a nice experience since it was a first time visiting Kyuramen. The broth is on a saltier side, but overall tasty. The service was good, prompt, and efficient. The space was large enough it did not feel cramped even with enough customers inside.
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
The food is amazing! I ordered the tonkatsu omurice combo and definitely did not take a photo before eating it. I plan on coming back later for the spicy challenge . The people working here is nice and I also enjoy the environment the establishment has. Here's a photo of the matcha!
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Nice ramen place. Staff is nice and friendly, ramen is good. Omurice is good but the fried rice under the egg was cold/room temperature so it wasnt as good as the first time I got it. Appetizers were pretty good except the potato wrapped shrimp those were ehh... Matcha tiramisu was more cream than matcha. Drinks are just ok...has its own boba shop connected to the ramen shop. The shop is clean and well maintained and has booths that can accommodate larger groups. Over all 3.74 stars out of 5.

Yelp
Kyuramen was a great dinner spot for our family. The ambience is so fun! We sat in a "private" booth, which my kids loved. The staff were attentive and helpful, everyone we encountered was great. While we loved the booth, next time we'll sit in the open area so we can see all of the fun decor. The stars were the popcorn chicken and yam fries. We did like the ramen as well. We prefer our broth a bit saltier but that's just our preference. Overall the quality of food was fresh, and well made. Noodles were perfectly bouncy and chewy.

Yelp
Favorite place to eat in cherry hill! Nice environment. Love kimchi ramen and matcha pudding

Yelp
Service, availability/accessibility, and variations are above par. The selections/choices from dishes/ramen/additions selections are very combo orientated to provide a full service Bento of sorts. Rolled in with 2 adults and 3 littles, we were granted the pleasure of getting a booth, less distractions and very intimate, this option was a saving grace! Will go here for this, specifically. All in all, could be circumstances, but the food -- from curry omelet rice to ramen and drinks with/without boba -- the flavors weren't there, for me. Can't really speak too much into it, but I will try again later. Once again, Service/location/ambience was top tier which brought food from a 3 and service 5 averaged to 4!!

Yelp
Honeycomb platter was a hit! Shrimp tempura was amazing, loved the edamame seasoning. My ramen was okay, it was pretty good I added a ton of cayenne pepper because the flavor was lack luster a bit for me. I have definitely had better ramen but this was pretty good! The presentation is everything!!! The private little rooms are awesome, the staff is great even if you are in a private room and they cant always see you. Honorable mentions was the matcha tiramisu.

Yelp
Great food. Got yakitori and omurice. Both came out out in a timely fashion. super chill staff even though we were there an hour before closing. highly recommend. also pretty scenary and they had a tree where you could hang ema wishes.

Yelp
*Overall Rating: 2/5* *Food: 2/5* The food was disappointing and not worth raving about. I tried the lunch special, which was a decent deal, but the quality fell short. Combo Special ($30) Includes: 1 Appetizer, 1 Ramen, 1 Dessert, 1 Drink What I ordered: - Appetizer: Pan-fried gyoza dumplings - Ramen: Katsuobushi Pork Ramen (#2) - Dessert: Matcha Pudding with red bean The ramen was lukewarm--definitely not as hot as it should have been. It was also supposed to be spicy, but I couldn't detect any heat. Overall, it was underwhelming and not something I'd order again. The gyoza dumplings were standard, but nothing to write home about. The matcha pudding had an odd texture, and I didn't enjoy it. I also ordered a few yakitori skewers, but they were lackluster. The zucchini skewers were the best, though that's not saying much. The scallops had an overwhelming soy sauce taste, and the beef (gyu harami) was overcooked and lacked flavor. - Skewers: - Gyu Harami (beef skirt) - Baby Scallop - Zucchini *Service: 4/5* Service was solid. It was a holiday weekend with snowy weather, and the "seat yourself" setup worked fine. The server was friendly and attentive. *Ambiance: 4/5* The restaurant has a cute, cozy vibe that's perfect for a ramen spot. There's a kid-friendly area in the middle, which is great for families. The semi-private seating rooms add a nice touch and give the space a more intimate feel, if that's what you're after.

Annis K.

Yelp
The beef skewer was a bit tough, but all other dishes were delicious especially the fried oyster.

Yelp

Yelp
Tasty ramen, popcorn chicken, and takoyaki! Cute internal decoration. Our stop-by restaurant every time we go to Philly!

Yelp
We had a great time! The food was good not as god as Rai Rai ramen. I love the private booths and the tea shop! Location is also great! Service was a little slow.

Yelp
The food here is okay. I think it's very unique foods I can't find anywhere else however taste wise I think was fine. The waiters are there to do their job. The are not the friendliest but they are fast and efficient which you can't complain about! The booth is soo cool and very private. If you go ask for a booth!

William W.

Yelp
Nice ramen place. Staff is nice and friendly, ramen is good. The shop is clean and well maintained and has booths that can accommodate larger groups.

Yelp
I loved this place. Although it seemed like there was a long wait to eat here we decided to go anyway and were surprised to find the restaurant only half full. The ramen and the bubble tea were both wonderful and a really great value! We loved the atmosphere and the wait staff. Overall a great place!

Yelp
We arrived for lunch to an empty restaurant. Service was polite, though not friendly. We wanted the omurice, and were disappointed that you couldn't order it by itself, only as a set which included a drink. And you're not able to customize the sweetness level of the drinks because it's already premade. But it wasn't too sweet, until we got to the bottom. I liked the taste the cucumber added to it. The omurice was brought out and the egg omelette was cut, though not in front of us, to the side. Very unenthusiastically I might add. I don't eat red meat and nowhere on the menu does it state that the fried rice has meat in it. But it does include pork. A bit shocking when I spit out the food. I don't like to waste food so I picked out what I could.

Yelp
I come here every week. Looooove it! Very good customer service and food taste great!

Yelp
We have to do a U-turn to get to this pla. Outside is not that interesting but inside is like another world. They placed us in small cozy room made intimate by Japanese curtains. So special. Our waiter Jaden is so knowledgeable and will suggest some menu items if you are not familiar with their menu. We first tried the delicious and crusty deep fried gyoza dumplings. Then we tried the soft and delicious bao bun. I had the Tokyo tonkotsu shoyu ramen with black garlic with si much flavor. The most interesting is the pork tonkatsu omurice combo for $24.99. We also love the balanced flavor of the chicken ramen. All of it so delicious and flavorful. For desert, we got the mango crepe cake. Excellent in everything. We love this adventure. Thank you Kyuramen.
google avatar

Yelp
So many delicious ramen and omurice to choose from. I love the decor with the tree in the middle. Their popcorn chicken and miso ramen are must order!
google avatar

Gabe P.

Yelp
Really amazing spot for Asian food in the area. Definitely a stand out location in Cherry Hill, which has a lot of great options. Also one of the only places in NJ that has omurice. The place itself is very nice. They have these private booths which are great for a unique eating experience. The service was quick and very friendly as well. The menu looked amazing and had some really great options like curry and ramen as well that I would to explore when I come back. I had the omurice which was great. Also had the pork katsu which was fine right. They also have bubble tea which is awesome. Would 1000% recommend.
google avatar

Chen M.

Yelp
We ordered a spicy tonkotsu ramen, chicken ramen, and a yakitori platter. Food is great, and great service. The place is nice and clean. I'll come again.
google avatar

Marcely A.

Yelp
Delicious Ramen and matcha pudding with tea bean. The green tea is okay but I liked the fresh passion fruit tea. The atmosphere is great staffing is awesome and kind. I will be back and definitely let my friends know where to have a good meal in this area.

Grace L.

Yelp
very good ramen spot to come to. broth was very brothy. also got the bao buns were very good but a little dry.
google avatar

Isabel L.

Yelp
It satisfies the craving but it's not the best tasting ramen I've had. The noodles kinda remind me of instant ramen noodles & I feel it's a bit overcooked and too soft. Service was quick and friendly though.
google avatar

Jo L.

Yelp
Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu black garlic option was flavorful, not salty, perfect gooey egg texture Takoyaki we're good. Lots of sauce on top. Popcorn Chicken appetizers were salty. Doesn't come with any sauce or lemon. Goes well with the takoyaki sauce. There is a boba bar next door. You can also from your seats

Joel S.

Yelp
Service was fast and perfect no issues The food was savory and everything was well cocked Very well lit and decorated place and also nice and private booths
google avatar

Skylar K.

Yelp
My first time trying Kyuramen and it was so good! My boyfriend and I ordered the Takoyaki and Fried Squid tentacles for appetizers which were 10/10. The fried squid tentacles were fresh and the additional lemon for the zesty flavor is perfect. The Takoyaki was also really good I recommend it! After the appetizers, we ordered the Pork Tonkatsu Omurice and the #6 Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. My boyfriend and I completely devoured the both of these dishes. The broth of the ramen was the perfect amount of spice and I really liked the flavor with the bamboo shoots. My boyfriend loved the Pork Tonkatsu Omurice, the pork was so crispy and the flavors with the gravy, eggs, and fried rice went so well together. On top of that, the service was fast and all of the food came out fresh. The place is also clean and really cute! Would definitely be back to try more of their food!
google avatar

Amandalynn W.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! My fiancé got the ramen and I stole a bite. It was incredible and so flavorful. I got a fried chicken rice burger. It was unique and good! They have ramen combos that come with bao buns. 10/10 I would go back. Oh! And the Pam fried dumplings were really good!
google avatar

Cherisse R.

Yelp
As someone who lived in Japan, it was really nice to have an experience that imitated the Japanese ramen shop vibe. The waiters are quick and if you sit in a booth you have a call button if you need anything. I loved the booths especially because it was very similar to how ramen shops were in Tokyo. I haven't had okonomiyaki in such a long time and there was hot and crispy. Not the same size as the Japanese ones but still tasty. The ramen was delicious, but if you're sensitive to spicy I would double check with the waiters, because I wasn't expecting mine to be particularly spicy. Either way, it made me miss living in Nagoya and it's def worth the trip imo.
google avatar

Shifa A.

Yelp
Great place to reminisce Japan! Love the vibe and decor, food is on point! We ordered the chicken Gyozas, pop corn chicken, potato shrimp, omurice and chicken Ramen. Service is amazing and we sat in a private booth. My favorites were definitely the gyoza and shrimp. The Ramen could have used a little more kick to it. But the absolute show stopper was the mango crepe cake ! Definitely coming back here!

tom p.

Yelp
Nice restaurant with Plenty parking spaces and very fast services and foods with very reasonable prices. Love the private booths.
google avatar

Richelle M.

Yelp
We were super full with good food (all of us big belly after) ahahaha with a complete Japanese ambience and good service. A must try place. Yummy

Nesiah M.

Yelp
Super cute inside with prompt service! Food is delicious as expected, would totally come back!

Emma Z.

Yelp
A nice place with private cube/rooms available. Service is pretty quick (when for lunch). Tried their bundle - one ramen, one pork bun and a matcha pudding dessert. The pork bun was disappointing- lots of bun/dough, small piece of braised pork, and mostly fat. Not much texture or flavor contrast. The ramen was pretty good, bouncy noodles soaked up the soup (got curry) and paired with crunchy bamboos and sweet corns. Good portion of pork katsu, still a bit crispy on the outside, very dry juicy and tender inside, perfect with the curry. Disappointed with the matcha pudding as well - very rubbery outside, the flavor was just okay, very artificial and store-bought... So don't get the combo and just go for the ramen. Maybe the other apps are good, didn't get to try...

Giovanna Y.

Yelp
Not only do the place super aesthetic and pretty the service was incredible and super helpful when picking ramen but the food was out of this world ! Recommend this to anyone for any occasion! Will be returning! 10/10!
google avatar

Roy C.

Yelp
Pro: Crazy good ramen! This relatively new Cherry Hill entry into my ramen world hits all the markers in terms of flavor, service, decor, and overall enjoyment. Call ahead to reserve a private table (more of a booth for your party) and enjoy! My highlight was the Black Garlic Tonkotsu broth in the Black & White Couple bowl! It's not often that I suffer from order envy, but what I ordered came in a close 2nd place to my company's selection. That's not to say my food was bad; the Sapporo Miso broth is a winner too! And I enjoy the "split bowl" concept of the Spicy Couple bowl. It's a great way to enjoy two flavors if one is feeling indecisive. Bravo! Con: No complaints here! Bottom Line: Kyuramen is my new Cherry Hill favorite for ramen!
google avatar

Retna S.

Yelp
Finally I had the chance to try omurice. I highly recommend taking a video of how the egg flows over the rice when it is being cut. It was an interesting experience. I was told that the demi glacé is the more popular. The glacé didn't have flavor, next time I'll try curry. Takoyaki and okonomiyaki were served with plenty of bonito flakes that were moving when they were served. Takoyaki balls were really hot so I recommend to wait before them eating so that you won't burn your mouth. My husband picked #6 Kyushu spicy tonkotsu ramen. I tried it and it was really spicy. Unless you love spicy food I wouldn't recommend it to those who don't like a lot of heat in your food because the heat dominated the flavor so I couldn't savor or give my opinion on the broth. Food came out fast. Waiters were courteous and refilled our water. The restaurant has beautiful art work and mural. I The wooden tree is a nice centerpiece. Plenty of seatings and on the right section there are some booths for more privacy.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
This place is still as great as the first time I went! I'm so happy we got one of the private booths this time as it really adds to the atmosphere. Since the last time we went they've added a feature that for an additional $6.99 you can make your ramen a combo meal and you will also get a Thai iced tea and pork bao bun. The bao bun was soft and the pork still juicy. My ramen was flavorful and spicy. They are also still running the special where if you check in you can get a free matcha pudding or mochi. Our waiter checked in on us so there was no need to use the call button in our booth and the food came out promptly. I wish we still lived in the area as this would be one of our regular spots :)

Yelp
Absolutely feel like love with the food, service and atmosphere. Amazing Ramen and Chicken Bites. Highly recommend coming to this place. Also if you want a private booth, please get a reservation before you walk in
