Kyuramen - Review - Germantown - Nashville - The Infatuation

"National ramen chain Kyuramen has opened its first Nashville location right behind the Sounds stadium in Germantown. Known for its honeycomb-style booth seating and yin-yang ramen bowl featuring two different savory broths, the new spot is also serving a very promising-looking omurice. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

This is a very recently opened Japanese ramen restaurant. I visited last Friday evening and had to wait about 30 minutes, but it was easy enough to take a short walk nearby while waiting. I was impressed with the well-designed interior and atmosphere, and the food was excellent compared to other ramen places.

Google
I know they JUST opened so waiting time was a BIT much (56 minutes is what I waited) but as someone who recently came from Japan I should say this is as AUTHENTIC and DELICIOUS as the Japanese food in Japan. And the price and service were really good. This time around they didn't have alcohol (I was thirsty for a Sapporo beer) but it's okay. They told me in a month or two they might have them. I'll be back for sure.

Me & my fiancé went to try it out we got the chili wings & chili dumplings, by far the best I’ve had! Most definitely would love to go back, our experience was amazing! Also not pictured but I got the lemonade & it has its special little twist (cucumber juice) 10/10.

It was amazing ! Our server Oween made the the night even better with his great service . The food was delicious, the cozy place and atmosphere was honestly perfect . My sister and I had a great time . The food was brought to us in minutes . Will be back soon .

Google
Amazing! Their first week open, very busy and they still were able to seat our party of ten. The service was incredible and the food was really delicious. Best edamame I’ve ever had. Those who ate ramen in our party were thoroughly impressed. If you are vegetarian there are many choices. Ask about which dishes are fully vegan, free of any sauces that might have trace amounts of seafood. They even have gluten free noodles. Family friendly for sure, our teens were having a great time coloring the “wish” tags…as was pretty much everyone else in the restaurant.

I cannot say enough good things about Kyuramen .. but if I had to pick one, it would have to be the service my girlfriend and I received from Rowan. From start to finish, he came in with incredible energy, kindness and attentiveness. I would even argue that he’s been the best server I’ve had throughout any dining experience here in Nashville. We will 100000% be back and we will ask for him specifically!

My husband and I came here on a Saturday night for dinner. They do not accept reservations so we did wait about 40 mins to be seated but that’s expected on a Saturday. We ordered the yakitori, sweet chili wings, curry ramen with tonkatsu and a spicy tonkotsu ramen. The food was delicious and extremely flavorful. Aside from taste, I loved that the food actually came out hot! We had Becca as our waitress and she was great and always made sure to check on us. A fun thing they do is on the bottom of the ramen bowls, you have a chance to win something for free in your next visit and I won popcorn chicken. We will definitely be back to redeem that coupon! Great experience all around.

Google
Kyuramen is more than just a good-looking spot. It’s a fun and modern ramen place with some great dishes like the Tonkotsu Shoyu ramen and the omurice. The service was friendly, the interior had a cool vibe, and everything felt thoughtfully done. I’ve seen some people mention that the broth can be a bit inconsistent, but mine was full of flavor and really hit the spot. The food was fresh and satisfying, and I genuinely enjoyed my visit. If you’re craving ramen with a little extra flair, this place is definitely worth a try.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Kyuramen, and it exceeded my expectations. Although they don't take reservations right now, lunch wasn't too busy, and we were seated right away. The authentic Japanese décor immediately stood out--having visited Japan over ten times, I honestly felt like I was back in Narita or Haneda. We were lucky to get one of the cozy booths with curtains, perfect for a group of three or four. Our server, Becca, was incredible--personable, bubbly, and truly set the tone for the meal. Her service made lunch feel even more special. We started with the spicy cucumber, agedashi tofu, and shrimp tempura. Every appetizer hit the mark, especially the agedashi tofu--perfectly crisp outside, silky inside. For mains, the Sapporo miso ramen and tonkatsu curry ramen were both outstanding: rich, flavorful, and served piping hot. We finished with the matcha tiramisu, which is made fresh every morning--you can taste the difference. It was smooth, light, and not overly sweet. We even won a free karaage chicken for our next visit with their Slurp and Win, which was an awesome added bonus. Portions were generous, pricing was fair, and we left happy and full. Between the excellent service, authentic atmosphere, and amazing food, Kyuramen is absolutely worth a visit--I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Service was great but what a disappointment on the food . Imagine waiting for 1 hour to get a table and you leave without eating?! Yeah that's exactly what happened. The ramen was overpowered by the cloves. I could not eat it. The spicy chili dumplings were good but not filling. The decor and everything else match the vibe... I will come back if they make it and try them again. I really hope they can figure the taste out because well, we need great ramen here in Nashville and Clarksville is just far for me...

Yelp
A hot new ramen place, located literally behind the Sounds stadium. It's a lot smaller than the pictures but it is as aesthetic as the pictures posted by others. Parking is a garage attached and some other public parking lots. The parking garage doesn't have a lot of spaces and since I went on a Sounds game day, it was premium which was expensive! This place does not take rsvp, you need to check-in for a waitlist via tablet, as soon as you get there and put your name down and they will text you when your table is ready. Our wait was around 45min. Seated at the bar top which was right in front of the kitchen. The food was great! The broth was hearty and deletable. Got the yin yang bowl and the veggie ramen, both very tasty. Also tried the matcha tiramisu and if you're a matcha lover you will love it. Our server was nice and tentative. Overall great experience! Also if you finish your bowl (like all of it, soup too), you will see a red marking at the bottom of the bowl which shows you your prize for your next visit. We won a free dessert to use for the following week. You'll see the prize list at your table. I will be going back to try some appetizers and other ramen I've had my eye on.

Yelp
Overall: As a newcomer to Nashville from Cali, I was super excited to try this place and see what the hype was all about! We got the #1 Ramen (2 flavors), the platter, the pork bao(s) and thai tea. Here's the taste breakdown: I LOVED the appetizers - the platter and the bao were delicious. We actually ended up ordering 2 more pork baos at the end of our meal. The ramen itself? Probably a 7/10, but the taste (brothwise) wasn't bad - the noodles just weren't what I'm used to. More instant-y tasting. The pricing was pretty decent, and as a spot overall I would definitely come back for the appetizers, bao, and thai tea. Really happy to have a solid Japanese spot to go back to. Service: Their system is pretty well organized, they have call buttons (we sat in a booth). However, time can vary since I'm sure staff are getting a lot of buzzes. But staff was very kind and friendly. *Also note, we called for wait time - you have to go in person to add yourself to the waitlist. Hope they add an online option for that soon! Ambiance: The decor is really beautiful inside and so aesthetically pleasing. I like the little booths we sat in and they also had pretty cool ones up the stairs as well. It's also right next to the baseball stadium which is really cool (but beware, parking could be an issue)!

Yelp
Becca is the BEST! She set the tone for the night as my husband and I were entering our very first Kyuramen. If yall are there, ask to be in her section. She's enthusiastic, down to earth, fun and witty! Made our dinner soooo much more enjoyable (Becca, if you're reading this, it's Jamie Lee Curtis lol) Food: delicious! Okay, this is strictly my opinion but the ramen game in Nashville has been abysmal (yes I've had black dynasty, Otaku, Two Ten, and none of them have really made an impression) -- however Kyuramen was definitely a hit and so far my favorite ramen spot in Nash! Popcorn chicken tastes authentic to Taiwanese flavors -- yum! Seasoned so well, and my favorite popcorn chicken in all of Tennessee Tempura shrimp was really good, crispy, light, seasoned! Ramen- I got the ying yang (had to try as much as I could for our first time) and best for those indecisive eaters (also me) and my husband got spicy tonkatsu! The flavors were really nice, the noodles were PERFECT (not too soft, with chew!) -- my husband slurped down all of his broth along with mine too. It was delicious! Matcha tiramisu with lady fingers soaked in matcha water (this is the sweetest dessert on the menu and still wasn't overtly sweet) matcha on top was bright green which is a good sign as dark green means baking grade lol My husband and I are definitely planning to go back. We have to try the Japanese curry ramen and they have so much more options that we gotta keep trying! Also planning to go back when our homegirl Becca is working too! Ambience: BUSY! Parking was rough due to Nashville Sounds playing Overall: A vibeeeeee with good food and really wonderful servers!

Yelp
This is literally the cutest place ever. There are these cool honey comb spots to sit in. The servers are super knowledgeable and polite. Food was also served quickly. The food was delicious. There are so many cool options. Also the prices are not super expensive. Parking is around but not free. It's directly next to the baseball park so that's fun too. I will go again.

Yelp
Ladies and gents, a new ramen place is in town and it's fantastic. Located right next to the Sounds baseball stadium, Kyuramen is a brand that boasts over 126 locations (on their website). You have to be doing something right if you have that many locations. I happen to see it last week as I drove past the Sounds stadium and made a mental note to come try it since I work less than 10 minutes away. Just know there's limited free parking around that area and parking in the building it's located in is 6$ for the first hour of parking (Metropolis). I love the aesthetic of Kyuramen. I'm not sure if all their other restaurants follow a similar template but the bamboo woodworking incorporated into every aspect of their look is pretty cool. From the windows, to the walls, to the furniture, condiments, and even their check holder. The staff was very kind and Aylen was a fantastic server. She claimed they were only open about a week and they've been pretty busy ever since. I got seated in a private booth for 4 with a curtain. The ramen pricing is competitive to those around Nashville but the variety of the menu is great. You have 9 different ramens to choose from as well as a nice assortment of appetizers. You can even "combo" the ramens with a side dish and a drink for a slight discount! I chose the #2 Katsuobushi Ramen, their top seller, that consisted of braised pork belly, scallion, Katsuobushi (fermented skipjack tuna), shichimi (Japanese 7-spice blend), nori (seaweed), bamboo shoots, sesame, corn, and half a marinated egg. Alongside that, I ordered a single butabara (pork belly) meat skewer. I like that you can order individual skewers because sometimes ordering a platter is too much food when paired with ramen alone. I absolutely loved the butabara skewer. I mean I love my pork belly but this was better than anything I've ever tasted before (or made). It was not overly salty but had a slight tart to it, like a vinegar perhaps? The balance of flavor was perfect. This skewer barely lasted 30 seconds. It had no chance. The ramen was everything you'd expect from a gourmet ramen. Chewy noodles, a rich and savor broth, variation of textures from the different toppings. The broth did have a nice kick to it from the shichimi. The portion is probably right for most people but I easily could have eaten a second bowl. I'm also glad we got a private booth because for anyone who understands Asian culture, you're supposed to slurp your bowl and slurp I did. They even reward you with gift cards if your bowl has a winning stamp at the bottom. Unfortunately I didn't win but my coworker did! I left Kyuramen impressed and will definitely return. The fact that it's so convenient to my work is dangerous. I hope it succeeds!

Yelp
I had a great experience at Kyuramen! I ordered the vegetarian ramen, which came with gyoza-- something I've never seen included with ramen before, and I really enjoyed it. The broth was flavorful, and everything was served within 20 minutes. I also really liked the layout of the space. There were private booths that could seat up to six people, with curtains for privacy, which made it feel cozy and semi-private. The classic honeycomb-style seating looked fun too, though it wasn't open the day I visited. A fun bonus is the random free item promo on your next visit; you can get a free drink, dessert, chicken, ramen, or sometimes nothing, which adds a little excitement. Only downside was the parking. The nearby retail garage (Metropolis-owned), which lists Kyuramen and other restaurants, does NOT offer validation, and it's a flat $25 + service fees for up to 6 hours, even if you're just there for an hour. Kyuramen confirmed they don't validate either. I recommend using street parking.

Yelp
Despite their name, I came to Kyuramen mainly to try their pork katsu omurice. Of course, their ramen was delicious and 10/10. I genuinely think you cannot go wrong with any of them. The omurice combo was a culinary and visual experience which entails numerous staff coming to your table to cut and plate your omelette rice with curry or demi glacé sauce. Even though it's pricy, I thought the food was very very good. The service provided by our waitress was incredible. The restaurant itself looked really cool inside, but the honeycomb tables were blocked off (maybe for reservation?). The only thing I didn't like was the parking situation, which is $20 an hour in the garage nearby. I would suggest street parking and walking if possible.

Yelp
Ramen was good overall. They all kinda taste the same with minimal variation. The spice levels are good for someone who really enjoys spicy food. Noodles are nicely firm but great texture. Service was great too. Ambiance felt very Japanese and the decorum feels cozy and Asian. 10/10

Yelp
We checked out Kyuramen during their soft opening and were pleasantly surprised. Nashville has been seriously lacking in good ramen spots, and this place fills that gap nicely. We went with the Supreme Combo B, which came with drinks and made for a great value for two people, especially if you're hungry. I had the Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen, which was exactly what I want in a classic bowl: rich, flavorful broth without being overly salty One of the fun parts of the restaurant is the private booths, which give off a cozy and intimate vibe. That said, the curtains made it a bit tricky for servers to deliver food, but the table-side call button (a nice nod to Asian dining culture) made things a lot smoother. Parking can be tough. There is retail parking in the building, but it was full, likely because of the Sounds game nearby. We ended up parking at Bicentennial Park (free and a short walk), so it worked out. No wait when we arrived, though note that they don't take reservations yet. They also have a fun challenge: if you finish your ramen bowl completely, you get a chance to win a free menu item on your next visit. Sadly, we didn't win. We were so full from drinking all the broth, especially with drinks and sides.

Yelp
Amazing little place tucked away beside the left field line of the Sounds Stadium. Quick friendly service. I recommend a supreme combo.

Yelp
Disappointed with the service. We ordered four small appetizers, a ramen bowl, and two drinks. One appetizer never came after 45 minutes, even though I saw our server bring the same dish to two tables who arrived much later. My husband finished his ramen and we were still waiting. She also never brought my drink and didn't refill my husband's Coke. At the end, she gave our check to another server instead of handling it herself. We spent $90, and the food was just okay -- nothing worth the poor service. I understand the place was busy, but that doesn't excuse forgotten items and no apology. I would've appreciated honesty over excuses. Won't be coming back.

Yelp
Just checked out the new Kyuramen in Nashville and honestly -- this might be the best ramen in the city right now. I had the combo deal with tonkatsu ramen, popcorn chicken, Thai tea, and dessert. The ramen was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly chewy, and the pork tender and well-seasoned. The soft-boiled egg was beautifully done -- jammy in the center and full of flavor. The popcorn chicken was hot, juicy, karaage-style with great flavor and a dipping sauce that tied it all together. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive -- especially impressive for a brand-new opening. The semi-private booth seating adds a nice, relaxed vibe to the whole experience. Nashville's been needing a ramen spot like this. I'll definitely be going back soon.

Yelp
Good food, but plan ahead. I called ahead and was told they had a table for us, so we arrived 30 minutes later. When we got there, they admitted they hadn't even entered my name until that moment--putting us four tables back in line with a 45-minute wait. For a Thursday night, that was frustrating and avoidable. The food was good and ultimately worth the wait, but not if you're hoping to get seated quickly. Definitely plan ahead and avoid last-minute visits.

Christina H.

Yelp
The food was very tasty. Since it was a soft open not all of the menu options were available. Kind of disappointing since you advertised specific dishes and the. They aren't available.
