"A charming lakeside town on Lake Annecy, known for its exciting shops, boulangeries, and cafés. It hosts the annual GlaGla Race and offers stunning views from nearby Col de la Forclaz. Talloires is also home to the two-Michelin star L'Auberge du Père Bise."

"Jean Sulpice, the chef at Auberge du Père Bise, a unique spot steeped in history, where some important moments in French gastronomy played out. The large restaurant building, completely refurbished by Magali and Jean Sulpice, stands on the shore of Lake Annecy, in Talloires Bay, a sort of miraculous Eden with a Corsican feel. His cooking features freshwater fish, aromatic plants from his kitchen garden, cheeses and wild flowers from the mountain pastures and elsewhere, and vegetables and meat from animals reared on the plains." - Georges Rouzeau

We had a lovely stay here! The staff is very kind and helpful. If you don’t want to take a car service the bus station is very close and walkable. The views are just incredible and out of a movie. The room itself was extremely clean and spacious. 5 stars!

We have been consistently disappointed, starting from the lack of flexibility, no late check-out was possible, when we arrived in the hotel on Sunday evening around 21:30 PM. Arriving in the room, we noticed that the wardrobe did not have proper hangers for our clothes, but these hangers that you need to connect with a piece, which is extremely uncomfortable, old-fashioned and not expected in a 5 stars hotel at this price level, our room did not have the normal slippers, (all 3-4 stars hotels offers this in the room) we have to ask and some came after 30 minutes. The shower, I cannot understand how someone design a shower which is completely open, and after you finish, the entire bathroom is full of water, a simple glass door would solve the problem. The food at the 2-star Michelin was a disaster, from a 8 courses menu, 6 courses was basically decorated vegetables, I could eat only a small piece of fish, and a small piece of chicken, and a dessert, leaving the restaurant completely disappointed after paying a 898€ for a lunch, which was absolutely a disappointment. With all due respect to the Chef, he should be more focused and providing unforgettable tasting experiences than bringing a piece of wood as a gastronomic superb product, exactly, as part of the menu, it was a piece of wood. Absolutely ridiculous.

Two Michelin stars — totally deserved! The location, the food, the service, the drinks — everything was just amazing. Sitting out on the terrace by the lake is the perfect way to kick off such a great experience. The 8-course menu comes in this fancy little book that explains the chef’s philosophy. Because yeah, with Jean Sulpice, cooking really is an art and a way of life. My top 3 highlights: The lamb Fennel as a dessert (seriously!) The wine pairing — and not just wine! Congratulations to the Chef and his amazing Team !

Local ingredients prepared in interesting novel ways in the restaurants, luxurious country living, a magical lakeside setting peppered with castles and mansions, and nearby charming old towns.

Turned away by the doorman, who looked us up and down, because we were wearing shorts and trainers. Gave the excuse that the bar was full, which was a lie because we could see the bar from the road. Have the guts to be honest please, if you don’t want our money then say so

Could not rate our stay more highly. We stayed for two nights and the hotel was perfect. The service is exceptional, personal touches and attention to detail were impressive. The staff make this hotel what it is, but the location and facilities are utterly stunning. We had an incredible view over the lake from our balcony, but we were also just as happy sitting on the terrace enjoying the surroundings. Talloires is gorgeous, very peaceful in the morning / evening but plenty going on and so much to do. The complimentary kayaking and paddle boarding were great fun, we spent so much time swimming in the beautiful lake. We also tried the spa (2-6pm with children) which was stunning, and took a boat trip which topped off the day. Our only tip to travellers is that the weather around Talloires seemed to be better in the afternoons once the clouds and moisture had burned off, so save sightseeing for later in the day.||||Could not recommend this lovely place more highly.

We recently stayed for three nights to celebrate our 30th anniversary. It was in our view literally faultless. Our suite was the perfect combination of stylish and comfortable, with a view over the lake to die for. Every member of staff we interacted with was supremely professional, helpful but also genuinely friendly and welcoming. Needless to say the meal we had in the gastronomic restaurant was some of the most perfect food we have eaten anywhere. Faultless!
