Was a bit concerned after reading some negative reviews, but as a tourist you have to give the pizza by the metre a go. Really glad we did. Got seated straight away, ordered the metre pizza, you cam have up to four different toppings on it. Drinks were pricey, but that seems pretty standard in the restaurants we've tried. Staff were OK, they were very busy, but would always come straight over and help if you signalled them. Pizza took a while, which I know annoys some people, but we are on holiday, so no bother there. Pizza itself was great, really nicely cooked, almost foccaia style bread, thin and chewy in the middle, crisp on the outside, really excellent flavour. We will definitely be going again before the end of our holiday. Also, any leftovers they box up for you with none of the hassle that you would get in the UK. Finally, a thank you to our waitress, she was really helpful, and if the owners are reading this, please thank her for us.

The pasta was very good, on the limit of al dente but I personally really enjoyed it, the sauce mixed nicely, the mussels were delightful and the presentation was beautiful ❤️ The pizza was similar to other lower end reviews. The different kinds of pizza proposed were very promising but the dough was not the best and the ratios of sauce and cheese were off in my opinion. This is a place with lots of potential but they lose a lot of walk-in clientele that cannot understand the pricing format and the translation of "pizza a metro". We counted three groups of tourists plus us during our dinner that either walked out for lack of understanding or were surprised when they learned they could get a pizza for one. A simple explanation from the waiter or an explanation card could really go a long way.

Great pizza and pasta. Good atmosphere. Service was a little long.

Solid place with a lot of locals. It gets busy from 8pm. The pizza by the meter is a highlight! For smaller groups they also offer a half meter. What's great: you can ask to choose up to three different pizza flavors on the (half) meter and if you can't finish it, take the rest home. Recommended!

If you are staying just outside of the Amalfi coast this place is a must! They offer pizza up to 1M long. Their prices are very reasonable and their food is excellent! My dad and I went twice for dinner during our stay in Vico Equense. Our first night my dad had the puttanesca and I had the gnocchi. The second night we had the pizza. I had the Prosecco both nights and it was truly divine, as was the price. A glass of wine is €3.50. Our waiter both nights was Raffael. He spoke great English and was very friendly. Can’t recommend this place enough. So glad we experienced it. Such a gem!

I love pizza. So pizza by the metre was definitely on the to do list. This place when you walk in looks like the biggest school canteen in the world. It's huge. It has a very industrial vibe and the decor looks like it may have not changed since the 70s. However. What you'll also notice is it is packed with locals. Always an auspicious start. The waiters spoke English and suggested we go watch the chefs make the pizza. The kitchens are open so you can watch the chefs at work which I really liked. As a proficient pizza chef myself this was a highlight as the boxed dough was clearly well rested and pliant in all the right ways. I enjoyed watching them roll out the dough onto a board and craft those long pizzas. The pizza itself was excellent. And good value for money - as it will feed 5 (although we managed one between four.). Wine is super reasonably priced and was also great with a bottle of Prosecco at 18 euros doing well. I wouldn't bother with anything in the menu other than pizza. It's what their speciality is. It's like walking into a fish and chip shop to order a baked potato if you don't. But I also saw that the chefs in the other section were hard at work and the steak they served up for another table seemed decent enough. Service - this restaurant has been open since the 30s I think it says somewhere and some of the staff seem to have also been there a while. Don't expect the fawning and cloying super friendly waiters that some people seem to love on here "we were served by giulio who told us about his childhood on an penumbra of goat farming land and his great love of 18thC theatre. He advised us on the perfect 20€ bottle of wine marked up to €120 to go with our Lasagne ". You may need to be quite Italian in manners to get the bill, but when in Rome… Speaking of Tripadvisor- if I’d have gone on the reviews from there this would have gone unvisited. This is one case where Tripadvisor’s super touristy angle comes undone. I don’t care if it isn’t a bijou exclusive 4 seater restaurant where the owner comes and personally chats to you. If the food is good I’m happy. It's not touristy and I enjoyed that a lot. Don't miss it.

If this is the university of pizza, someone needs to fire the professor. Pizza by the meter was the worst pizza I have had in Italy, by a long shot. I'm not sure if we got the "tourist special," but it completely lacked flavor and ingredients. Pizza capricciosa lacked any olives. The ham and artichokes were barely there. The other varieties we had were also lacking ingredients. They all tasted of the same bland taste. The crust wasn't the worst, but a meter or crust is hard to justify for $35-40. I believe this has become a complete tourist trap. It may have been good at one time, but now it appears as an overpriced shell of a pizzeria trying to serve other dishes. It is 100% gimmick and 0% flavor. It was so bad we didn't even want to take the pieces we didn't eat. They like to appear as a bit higher end than what they actually are. If your craving pizza, save your money and go to a better pizza place. Anyone who recommends this trap for someone wanting pizza should not be trusted. The only reason to go here would be if you have a large group (they have a lot of seating) that all want to sit around and eat bad pizza (or order something else here).

We came here for a metre-long pizza and we were very surprised by the level and price. The pizza was great, you can have up to 4 types on one pizza. They have great service, we were served by Gennaro the waiter and he was absolutely perfect.

Yelp
If you're lucky enough to land at Pizza Metro, sit down and stay a while. The staff treats you like family? kind, quick, and full of heart. The pizzas came out like art, each one better than the last, and the Chianti? It hugged the soul. The room hums with good energy, all warm light and wood ceilings, like a place built for laughter and long meals. We left full in every way that matters.

Yelp
Filet was tender but overcooked. Brocollini was salted unevenly. Service was super slow, but place looked very nice.

Yelp
Pizza is a meter long! We got 2 kinds of pizzas on one, warm winter and Forest something. It was delicious, quick and clean atmosphere. Bathrooms are nice. Service was great, friendly and was able to order without knowing Italian.

Yelp
As an American we are used to over sauced soggy cheese heavy pizza's. That's not this place! The pizza is about a yard long and has so much depth of flavor it's hard to describe/compare to what we get in the US. Not only do they know how to make perfect pizza, they have a very lengthy menu of other Italian dishes and during our 3 week trip, we ate at Pizza a Metro the most because of the variety. I didn't have a single dish that I was disappointed from nor did we receive poor service from any of our waiters. We got a little nervous once because we saw our waiter walk out during the middle of our meal, it it was seamless!

Yelp
For the record, we did the take-out option, which saves you a bit of money (although the prices are reasonable regardless) BEST PIZZA OF MY LIFE. We did a margherita with sausage and mushrooms and the depth and richness of flavor in their ingredients must be the secret to a pizza that blew me away.. and I've had a lot of very good pizza in the States. A bonus is you can watch them make your pizza through the glass wall.

Yelp
Pizza in Italy what can I ask for more. But pizza in Napoli, pizza mecca of Italy and best and biggest pizza restaurant. I need to claim this place as an unexpected bucket checklist. I thank the taxi driver for introducing us to this place. I would fly back to Napoli just for the pizzas.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, this restaurant is so freaking good. It's big too inside. It sits in an unassuming location. But once you step inside, it's beautiful. I like the interior. It looks circa 1980s with the dark wood and glass facing greenery. The facility is all very clean. Our waiter was a no frills kind of a guy. He was to the point. We ordered the appetizer sampler plate and a half a meter pizza. It was plenty for two. It was such a good deal too. The appetizer plate was gigantic and tasty. We had such a feast. I as really surprised by their generous portions. Our octopus salad has some sand in it. Although the waiter never apologized, he didn't argue and brought back another plate of octopus salad. I was satisfied that they corrected the mistake. The food was so delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here.

Yelp
Loved this place. They are actually know as university for pizza and have a huge variety of pizzas available. They made us 2 pizzas in one. It was huge and delicious. The food was great and the service was awesome!

Yelp
I am surprised by the rating. I am guessing it must be the service. We ordered takeout and the guy who took our order was friendly and helpful. No problems there. Now on to the food - it was HANDS DOWN THE BEST PIZZA EVER. When I watched the pizza maker put ingredients on our pizza, I was skeptical. I felt like the ingredients were not enough - I was wrong. It came out just PERFECT and tasted so fresh and full of flavor. I am not even super big on pizza but I loved it so much. Lower your expectations for service in Europe, or you may have a bad time, unfortunately.

Yelp
Best pizza in town with a special "home made" charme. Don't miss it whenever u are around. By the way: you can order in meters

Richard C.

Yelp
Best pizza we have had in Italy yet. We ordered a full meter pizza for our family of 5. You can choose uo to 4 different kinds with the full meter pizza - which gives you a good variety. It was DELICIOUS!! We also ordered the fried mozzarella as an appetizer which was also excellent. We took what we couldn't finish in a takeout box with us. Our server was polite, attentive and spoke very good English - the service was great!! Definitely reccommend this place. We went for lunch but on Friday nights they have live music.

Yelp
This place serves what it's name is - pizza a metro. Pizza is ordered and prepared by the metre! You wouldn't think 2 young adults could eat half a metre of pizza, but they can, and we did! The wine list is not great (like most restaurants in Vico, unfortunately), so perhaps stick to the Nastro Azzurro Service is a bit of a shocker and is very old style - waiters wear waistcoats and bow ties, with black, faded trousers. The restaurant is massive, so once feels a bit like eating in a canteen. The pizza is good, but it's not the Roman style pizza that westerners are after - it's the original Napoli-style of spongy pizza base. Provolone is out of this world, however Worth a visit, just to see how many metros you can consume!!! Recommended.

Yelp
Great experience. Loved the variety and see through pizza making. I arm not a fan of Napolean style but but if you do, this is a must try.

Yelp
Fast-paced service. Fun vibe. Cool to see them making the pizzas. Very tasty food. Moderate pricing. Would recommend this.

Yelp
Pizza is my thing. When we visit Italy (about five weeks per year) I have one nearly every day. This is the cream. Pizza by the yard! Pages and pages of options. We get enough to last for couple days of leftovers. Staff is fun bunch of old timers who you know have been there for years. Would love to see this cavernous place rockin in summer~ we are always first in door when we visit, kind of embarasing but they always make us feel welcome.

Yelp
First visit to Pizza A Metro. Food was okay. My biggest complaint was the woman's bathroom. It was filthy. One stall was out of order. The other stall had a broken seat cover holder which was just laying on the floor. Toilid paper just sitting on top of the dispenser. The worst was the sink. It was disgusting. The bowl looked like it had never been cleaned. I've seen cleaner gas station bathrooms. If they can't clean their bathroom, makes me wonder about their kitchen. We sat out in the patio. Furniture was really dusty. I've sat in patios at many restaurants. Most restaurant7s clean their patio furniture. Staff was nice but could not answer any of my questions regarding the food. She had to go in kitchen to ask. I asked if she had tried a couple of dishes and she hadn't. There might be a reason why she doesn't eat there. Sadly, we won't be visiting again.

Yelp
My sister and I are both gluten free, and the gluten free pizza here we both agreed was one of the best we have had in Italy! Not the typical gluten free frozen pizza crust you get at some places. We went to this restaurant twice, and each time the service was pleasant and the atmosphere very relaxing.

Yelp
This place overcharged us. They gave us a more expensive wine then made us pay for it when it was their mistake

G B.

Yelp
Poor quality, cold and outrageously expensive pizza delivered or more correctly thrown at you by surly waiters. Service was appallingly slow and the restaurant was maybe a third full. Decor reminds me of the 70s and it has all the ambiance of a barn. Easily the worst restaurant I have ever been to.
