"The blue and red hand-painted menu on the exterior of B&M Market is the most important landmark on 79th Street. At least, it is to us. Because for decades now, it’s where you could point folks to for the best roti in the City Of Miami, made fresh from a tiny kitchen and wrapped around tender oxtail, chicken, or whatever else is cooking that day." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
"The reason you’re coming to this cash-only Miami Gardens restaurant is in the name. This place makes the best roti we’ve had in Miami, and they do it right in front of you, in the same kitchen they’ve been using for nearly half a century. L.C. is a Trinidadian spot, so you can find a buss up shut and doubles on the menu alongside a selection of roti options like goat, duck, conch, and more. It’s all delicious and available for takeout. But if you’ve got the time, eat there and strike up a conversation with the owner. If she likes you, there may be a shot of rum waiting for you at the end of the meal." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"LC’s is another cash-only restaurant serving Trinidadian-style roti, and if you like a wide variety of fillings, this is the place to go. They have conch, shrimp, duck, goat, beef, chicken, veggie, and potato roti. But you can’t get the duck or goat boneless, so if you don’t want to navigate around lots of little bones in your roti, ask for the meat to be placed on the side. As far as roti bread, it will be “buss up shut” on the menu—they have both plain and a paratha (no dhal puri). The roti here is thin and isn’t as soft or chewy as some of the other spots, but if you’re in the area and craving a buss up shut, stop by to grab some carryout. You can also purchase tamarind sauce on the side, two for a dollar. And if you get a spicy roti, make sure to spend the whole dollar." - yolande clark jackson

This place makes the best roti we’ve had in Miami, and they do it right in front of you, in the same kitchen they’ve been using for nearly half a century. The menu is small and revolves around roti—you can also get doubles, pholourie, and aloo. But if you want a big meal, you’re getting one of the roti options: goat, duck, shrimp, conch, and more. It’s all delicious and available for takeout. But if you’ve got the time, eat there and strike up a conversation with the owner. "LC’s is a cash-only restaurant in Miami Gardens serving excellent Trinidadian-style roti. If you like variety when it comes to fillings, this is the place to go. They have conch, shrimp, duck, goat, beef, chicken, veggie, and potato rotis. It also works great for takeout in case you’ve had enough of being around people after spending the afternoon in a stadium full of thousands of them. If you’re feeling lucky, you might be able to sneak in a few stuffed rotis into the Hard Rock Stadium (or bribe a security guard with one)." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
