The lady working the cutting machine should learn how to properly cut and package cheese. The gouda is useless being stuck together and not a single strip of paper between the pieces. Maybe some appropriate training? Edit: I’m surprised by the hostility. A customer shouldn't have to supervise a professional to get usable, properly layered cheese and inspect it after. Expecting a usable product is a bare minimum. Have a good day.

Fantastic OG Italian deli/Importer/cheese maker hidden in plain sight on Passyunk Avenue.. Great sandwiches, cutlets, meatballs, and their own housemade mozzarella and ricotta cheese. The last time I was there, one of the guys called their ricotta Italian hummus, and they have been experimenting with some great flavors. Try the fig or the Calabrian chili.

You’ve had fresh mozzarella, right? You’ve had a bunch of it and it’s been pretty really good. You ain’t never had good fresh mozzarella till you’ve gone here. It’s unbelievable. Unbelievable! And everybody in the store is Philly nice, love these guys. This place really represents old world charm and classic reasons why we love and live Philadelphia.

Others in the reviews have said “you haven’t had fresh mozzarella until you’ve had from L. Manuscos”. I will confirm this is true. And if you haven’t, you should. Got an ‘Old Italian’ sandwich which was phenomenal. But their fresh mozzarella is something else. It is an entirely different class of cheese than what you find at a supermarket. If you’re in Philly visiting or on business this is a place worth building a day around for lunch. Many thanks to Chris and the crew and will be back again soon 🙏

Ordered catering from Mancuso for a party - a hoagie tray and an antipasti platter, both of which were outstanding. The quality of the "Muzz," "Sopresatt," "Proscuitt," and "Mortadell" was top-notch, and the hoagies were on point. W The complimentary pickles, cherry peppers, and long hots added a perfect touch. Chris was very helpful, guiding me through the menu, pricing, and options. He followed up the next day to confirm all the details and pricing, which I appreciated. I wish I lived closer so I could visit all the time!

Everything you could expect from a South Philly Italian Deli. No nonsense- just fantastic ingredients and great sandwiches. All the favorites are here- classic Italian, roast pork, chicken cutlet with sharp provolone and broccoli robbe, fresh sliced mozzarella… perfect example of a classic neighborhood hoagie / sandwich shop.

Freshly made cheeses. Try the one-pound provolone ball. It keeps over a month. Best mozzarella in Philly. Their gourmet sandwiches are epic. Scrumptious olive salad. Excellent selection of coffees, sauces & condiments. Legendary.

“I’ve been going here for years, and I want to congratulate the new owners — they’re doing a fantastic job. It’s the only place I know that has mozzarella just like in Italy. The new facelift looks great. the store has never looked better. Great people, great products, and a true neighborhood gem.
