Google
This place is unique. I went to my son's Navy Boot camp graduation. We were driving through looking for a decent nice place to eat, and we found Wood Tap and Pine. The building is very beautiful from the outside. The food was delicious. Staff was courteous, helpful, and friendly. The atmosphere was great inside.

Google
Our 1st time at L. Woods. It was a cute place. Loved all the room signs & pictures throughout the restaurant. I had the French onion soup to start it was sooo good! For our main meal I have the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, my momma had the 1/2 slab of ribs with mashed potatoes. The food had such a good flavor & soo good. For dessert we split the turtle sundae. We definitely will be back soon!

Google
The place has a rustic cabin decore ,with many pictures of famous people that have crossed their threshold. We had the Prime rib and it was in one word SALTY. Cream spinach good. Apple strudel in one word Sweet. Very busy on an early Saturday afternoon.Appears to cater to suburban tastes. If you’re in the hood stop by.But not a destination restaurant AWARDED 2 YUMS ON A SCALE OF 3.

Google
I do wish we had more time and the opportunity to hit up L. Woods more often. Personally I love the atmosphere and each time we have gone the food has been great and our server was spot on. We had the pounded chicken and filet medallions special and both were delicious. Prices are reasonable and we always seem to enjoy ourselves. Highly recommended!

Google
We sat on the patio and ordered a couple drinks, appetizers, soup, and the daily special. The waitress was lovely. The menu could use something a little more. I didn't exactly get what I was looking for. But the food we did order tasted excellent.

Google
This was my first time here. The service was outstanding, and the place is nice and comfy. The onion soup, the bread and the side of spinach and cheese were delicious, however my rib eye steak was not good. It was average, very dry and it came with some water maybe to try to hide the fact that it was overcooked, it also lacked flavor.

Carrie Katz

Google
We went in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, and were asked if we had a reservation upon entry. As we didn't, the host gave kind of a sigh, and then he seated us in the bar area. Fine, fine, as long as we were seated... The waitress was nice, the food was ok. Nothing was spectacular, while it's not outrageously priced it isn't cheap, and the diet soda was flat. I won't go out of my way not to go here any time soon, but I won't seek out a meal there any time soon, either.

Tom Hutch

Google
Best French Onion soup I've had!! Also, here is a great place for the corn bread and the side beans that come with the brisket. Although, I must add the brisket was just ok as mine was dried out and very lean to the point that it needed sauce to eat.

Yelp
This is a local go-to for a low key night out, when your in-laws are in town or when you want to celebrate. Somehow the ambiance here makes room for kinds of vibes. It's not overly loud and the food is great. They've added some nice appetizers to the menu, their BBQ chicken and salmon dishes never miss and Sunday fried chicken is a must. Service is warm, proficient and prompt, prices are what they are everywhere but at L. Woods you can feel good about it.

Yelp
I used to live in Lincolnwood, L woods used to be the old Bones, which I dearly miss. I went to L Woods during their opening week maybe 20 years ago? I wasn't impressed back then and I am sorry to report that it's pretty much the same. I want to say our server, Flavio needs to be re-trained or not work in the hospitality industry. His general demeanor was that he was doing us a favor by sitting in his section. Very surly and not helpful regarding questions about the menu. We wanted to add points to our Lettuce app and we weren't sure if he heard the code, when he came back and asked him again he kinda snapped. I wanted to talk to the manager but I let it pass. Secondly regarding the food, the calamari was good but the wedge salad was subpar (I asked Flavio if it could accommodate 3 people, in retrospect I'm glad he was wrong because it saved me from ordering another salad). My walleye and chips were good, but my girlfriend and brother said her almond walleye seemed more like a panko breading instead of being almond encrusted. They did say the fish overall was good albeit the breading. The potatoes au gratin was quite average. All in all, L woods wants to be like Wildfire, but it's not even close. I'd much rather dine at Wildfire, food is superior as is the service.

Yelp
I was honestly really impressed with this place! My BF and I were golfing nearby and he's on a strict Keto diet so he searched for a place that would fit the bill, we had no idea what we were walking into but I'm already excited to go back. I had to force myself not to eat it all and that night fell asleep excited to eat my leftovers the next day. I'm also not a HUGE spinach lover but if you like spinach and artichoke dip, you'll be sad when this is gone.

Shih C.

Yelp
Since my family has been busy taking care of me from the moment I was discharged from Shirley Ryan, I thought it's only appropriate that I treat them a nice dinner and L Woods did not disappoint. We ordered a fried calamari, cheeseburger, Friday's special (perch dinner) ands full baby back ribs. I was delighted everyone was happy with their order. The burger was juicy and tasty. The fried perch with fries were done perfectly. Calamari was delicious, as usual. And the ribs, was juicy and very well done. I love ordering from L Woods. From the person who took my order over the phone to the staff who make sure the order is perfect packed. Everyone is cordial and helpful. I will definitely order from L Woods again.

Len L.

Yelp
L.Woods is a little bit outside of Chicago city limits. This pine lodge restaurant is fairly large with many tables. I got here around 5pm and to my surprise, seems 70% full. We sat down and the menu is clear to understand with their weekly specials listed. We got the fried walleye fish and chip (Friday Special) for $26 and the full slab of ribs $35. The ribs was moist and tender and the fish fry was made well also. Service was great and parking is available. Highly recommend.

Yelp
1 yr wedding anniversary. Newborn too so had to hit something quick and nice. We always know the food is good here. Had the petite filet and wife had spit fire roasted chicken. This place has been our staple for decades now.

Sheryl R.

Yelp
We had a fabulous evening. Our party of eight received perfect service. The food was delicious and the drinks were good too. I had the walleye fish and chips which were cooked perfectly. Also the creamed spinach and I loved that. Others had the whitefish, the nut crusted walleye, and the salmon. Everyone was pleased with their food.

Michael R.

Yelp
I enjoyed my initial trip to L Woods. Great environment and my dining experience was a good one. Good cocktails-I had the Old Fashioned on special and it was a great version. The brisket sandwich was tasty, along with the au grating potatoes on the side.

Annette D.

Yelp
Such a cozy restaurant. It's quite large but feels like a charming pine log lodge in Wisconsin. Love the vibe and service was excellent. We started with cheese curds and opted for pure comfort food -- cheeseburger, bbq ribs, au gratin potatoes. So delicious. Meats were prepared perfectly and sides were fresh and tasty. Great experience. Highly recommend for comfort food in a warm and cozy atmosphere. (No worries- there are many healthy options --salads, chicken, fish.

Nerina B.

Yelp
It's a rustic western old type of atmosphere. It's very welcoming with dim lighting. The food is EXCELLENT. We ordered the French onion soup it was delicious. Cheesy, great onion broth, delicious overall. One of the best onion soups I have had. I ordered the steak medallions. Wow. The meat was tender, juicy, full of flavor. Garlic Mashed, were creamy, buttery, nice touch of garlic, Delicious. The creamy spinach was really really good. The waitress was really nice and attentive. Overall, food was delicious, atmosphere was nice, waitress nice. Highly recommend this place.

Tim M.

Yelp
Before I get to the food, I want to give a shout out to our waitress Evangeline. Absolute rockstar. Onto the food. Brisket burger was probably the best goddamn $20 burger I have ever had in my entire life. And since a regular burger cost 15 bucks these days, go out of your way to come get this one. Juicy crispy brisket, jalapeños, fried onion straws. French fries I will stop there because that's all you really need to know. My wife had the southern fried chicken dinner. It was decent, juicy and flavorful, but nothing extraordinary. Maybe my opinion is a little skewed, because of how delicious my burger was. Kids had the rib dinner. Better than good. Maybe Great, I don't know, I'm still madly in love with my burger. Kind of a Kitch place. Feels like an old-school supper club. Definitely worth the look

Yelp
We recently stopped in to enjoy the Chicago Restaurant Week offering at L. Woods. We had tried to stop in this past December but the wait for a table was long so we had dinner somewhere else. This time we made a reservation in advance which was a good thing because once again it was a crowded waiting area. Our dining experience showed why. L. Woods is a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. If you enjoy Wildfire you'll likely enjoy L. Woods. There are small differences in the menu but otherwise it's much the same offering. L. Woods is just a north woods themed dining room opposed to Wildfire's supper club. The restaurant week dinner menu offered three courses for $59. Other restaurants offered 4 courses for $59 but L. Woods replaced one course with a choice of beer, red wine or white wine. I don't drink so the waiter was willing to replace my drink with ice tea which I appreciated. The first course was appetizers. There were multiple options. I chose to try the spinach fingers and my husband ordered the calamari. The spinach fingers were like large cheese sticks but more spinach than cheese. Both items were good but enjoyed the calamari more. For dinner I ordered the Parmesan topped beef medallions and my husband ordered the ribs. Each meal came with a choice of a side. To end the meal my husband ordered the chocolate cake and I ordered the key lime pie. It took a while for the dessert course to come out and we soon learned that might have been due to the pie being frozen. It was still hard when I took the first bite so we shared the cake and took home the pie. Each dish appeared to be a full size portion which made the $59 price a good deal. Don't wait for restaurant week to go to L. Woods but do make a reservation!

Yelp
Birthday lunch was great. Had the chopped steak with onions, mushrooms and baked potato, along with the white fish and broccoli. The meals were great, very tasty and the service was spot on

Gamaliel E.

Yelp
The rustic vibe at this place is on point from the moment you step inside. With the log cabin aesthetic and cozy feel, it's the perfect spot to escape the city grind and kick back with some solid eats and drinks. We started our crew off with some kid-friendly chicken tenders for the little ones. Can't go wrong with those crispy handheld crowd pleasers to keep 'em fueled. My wife went with the walleye piccata which was a total win - flaky, delicate fish in that bright, lemony caper sauce that hit all the right notes. For my main I opted for the roasted mahogany chicken and a half slab of meaty baby back ribs. That bird was cooked to juicy, flavorful perfection and those ribs were straight-up fall-off-the-bone bliss. Definitely didn't leave hungry! Drinks were on point too. Their cocktail list is stacked with all sorts of tasty craft cocktails. I went with a Mai Tai, and then a Paper Plane. Both drinks were made very well and balanced. The waitress was on point and steered us in a great direction with our selections. We will definitely suggest L Woods the next time we have an occasion to celebrate to warrant the short trip.

Yelp
Every thing here was great!! Good, Service, Ambience!! Would definitely recommend this place!!

Deberal W.

Yelp
Tasty food. Good menu choices. Visited here this Memorial Day weekend with my family. Everyone enjoyed their various dishes - fish and chips was delicious. My 98 year old mom really enjoyed the chicken breast with capers and mashed potatoes. Our waitress was very attentive

Brianna P.

Yelp
We had a group of six and needed to reserve a table, even for a Wednesday evening because this place is always packed. Our server was great! I'm always glad to see more interesting options on the kids menu, our son enjoyed the pounded chicken and our daughter loved the kids ribs. The old fashioned cocktails were also great. The prices are on the high side since you have to get sides for your meal a la carte. They almost lost a star because of the 3% charge for "keeping their prices low" which is stupid. Charge what you're going to without a fee please! Still worth a trip!

Iris P.

Yelp
As Elle Woods wood say "Too perfect for words!" Tried L Woods for the first time and got the shaved brussel sprouts salad , pork ribs , spinach and avocado salad , L woods chopped with chicken , & a Mahogany roasted chicken the dishes were very yummy and the service was quick and nice! I didn't go inside really but it looks like an older bar vibe and the patio was GREAT!

Ann M.

Yelp
Had another excellent meal there this past weekend, and wanted to add a few pictures. Our server, Evangeline, was amazing, as were my filet and au gratin potatoes. And the dirty vodka martini was perfect, too. We were there on a Sunday, so my husband had the Sunday special, fried chicken and garlic mashed potatoes with coleslaw. He gave his a thumbs up, too. I'm an old time supper club fan, so I love that vibe that I always feel when I'm there. Oh, and I used my birthday dollars and some rewards dollars to take $25 off of our check. Such a deal! If you're not already in the Lettuce Eats rewards program, and you visit a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, be sure to join. You get birthday dollars every year, on top of the points program.

Yelp
This is a catchup review. We've had the pleasure of dining at L Woods many times over the years. Always a delight. We've enjoyed the fish fry, beef ribs, fried chicken, prime rib, burgers, steaks and their fabulous chopped salad. A wonderful bar too! I can honestly review that on each visit we have never been disappointed, always left satisfied. The decor and atmosphere are fun and soothing, comfortable and laid back. You really can't go wrong.

Keith E.

Yelp
L. Wood is a restaurantaurant! Been there for decades! Classy Joint!!! Food has already been great. The service has always been great!

Marie T.

Yelp
I cannot give you a complete review. 1st time at L. Woods smelled pretty nasty like old musty smell or basement smell. The restaurant was crowded. We were seated dinnerware & table were dirty. Decided to leave I've always heard great about their food. Maybe another time

Janette A.

Yelp
Service was wonderful from the host to the server. Ordered Parmesan crusted 8 oz. Steak medallion, cooked perfect medium rare. Had the peach sangria, so tasty and refreshing. The atmosphere was beautiful & comforting. Will definitely be back

Nancy K.

Yelp
OK I've been here 1 million times but I did go for restaurant week with my boyfriend because it's such a good value! This time we sat in the back room, which is much more of a dinner club type of feel. I started with a Caesar salad, followed by the burger and chocolate cake. my boyfriend got the French onion soup which was delicious as well as the burger and chocolate cake for dessert. We decided to split the dessert but we thought it was so delicious. We ate it before we took a picture.

Yelp
I live in Chicago, and I was going to be visiting my parents to celebrate Thanksgiving in Arlington Heights. I decided that it was easier to order a pre-made dinner than to buy the ingredients and cook. I wanted something that came close to tasting homemade. I decided to order L. Woods Thanksgiving for Two dinner (times two), and I am glad that I did. It was wonderful. Pick-up was at a pre-determined time, and could not have been easier. They had a huge truck holding all of the orders parked right outside the restaurant. They were very organized. I complimented the woman in charge and she was delighted that I noticed...and she said that she took pride in being organized. As usual, at least in my experience, Lettuce Entertain You restaurants always have the best people working for them and the best service. The dinner included a huge portion of pre-sliced turkey breast (that tasted like real turkey...not processed) mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, rolls, whole cranberry sauce, gravy, and apple cranberry strudel. The reheating instructions were easy to follow, the portions were generous, and everything was absolutely delicious. I could not have purchased the ingredients and made this dinner for price they charged...so that was a big plus. And just like I had hoped, everything tasted fresh and homemade. I thought that the strudel was an unusual choice for the dessert. I am a baker, and to have a more traditional dessert choice, I made a homemade pumpkin pie with an all-butter crust. But L. Wood's strudel, with a hot caramel sauce, was really delicious. If you need carry-out catered food, I highly recommend L. Woods. It's wonderful! And of course, their eat-in restaurant is wonderful, too...I have eaten there many times.

Brie G.

Yelp
L. Woods is great! Make a reservation as it's alllllways busy. Love that there's a (free) parking lot and that it's part of Lettuce Entertain You. The veggie burger and pulled pork sandwich are my favorite entrees so far. The shaved Brussels sprouts and kale salad is becoming a regular share plate. I had a nice Pinot Noir from Oregon last visit. Sadly the Gamay tasted like it had been open for a bit too long (oxidized). Beers and cocktails have always been solid. Chocolate cake? Delicious. Overall, we really like this place! I'm excited to sit out on the patio this summer!

Lenny G.

Yelp
For the price, the food was not as good as expected. A little mediocre and I was expecting slightly better on the burger. Service was exceptional and the ambiance is quiet and can be casual to fancy.

Cindy S.

Yelp
Best wait staff I've ever seen. Even people in the hospitality industry agree. We ordered the lunch beef stroganoff which was very good. Our server, Meghan C was very quick but didn't rush us at all. But she was observant and was quick to take care of us . After we paid and tipped for our meal we were chatting and Meghan continued to fill up our drinks . So welcoming !! Although the food is great, I will go back for how well we were taken care of . There is a 3% surcharge automatically added that doesn't go to wait staff that they can remove if you ask . I would highly recommend their lunch specials . Very filling and delicious .

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Made our reservations open table to secure seating. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was great. Now let's talk about the food, the ribs are my favorite!!! They have the best taste and the sauce. Definitely will continue to come!

Amy K.

Yelp
Only reason I can give this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is because something happened with our ticket and we had to wait over an hour for our food to come out. Besides that the servicer was very nice and the log cabin feeling made the ambiance a warm welcoming feeling. We had BBQ chicken which was crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside. Garlic mash potatoes were very tasty. Mac n cheese was a side of gooey goodness. Brisket sandwich was very tender and flavorful. Both burger and fried fish sandwich were delightful. Old fashioned and whiskey sour were top notch. Out of all 3 desserts which were wonderful my favorite was the chocolate cake.

Greg S.

Yelp
I'd like to speak to someone higher up than the insensitive manager i came across today. Smart mouth. Disappointed after many years of good service.

Christopher K.

Yelp
I've never had a bad meal or experience here. Great service every time I've gone, with a wide variety on the menu. From sandwiches to full dinners there is a dish for whatever you feel like dining on. Daily specials nightly, with a great Prime Rib dinner on Saturday

George S.

Yelp
Visiting from Florida we try to make L Woods a stop each year. Not disappointed last night. The Beef Ribs are outstanding and we have yet to find comparable anywhere in the world! Two orders shared for 3 of us with the L Woods salad. Healthy Lake Michigan water and no alcohol check was $100.88 after we requested the "3 percent restaurant surcharge" Removed from our check. Preferred to give our $ to excellent accommodating server and staff. Ample parking. We got triple Lettuce points in scratch promotion.

Grace C.

Yelp
L woods is a great restaurant. My friends and I like to meet up here for dinners sometimes. As we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away. They had nice music playing and our table was nice and clean. We all had a great time here. I tried their prime rib for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. They also have a nice selection of cocktails to choose from, and I had a couple from their special cocktail menu and they were all good. The chocolate cake for dessert sounded very enticing, but after my meal I way way too full. Next time I will surely be trying that out!

Adam K.

Yelp
Most people crave it. A cocktail, cheese curds, a steak or fish, and a dessert. Big booths, warm lights, wood paneling, photos of people great & small - and taxidermied fish. That is what L. Woods delivers. The place is full of interconnected small dining rooms and when we went on a Saturday night was packed, but not too loud. The cocktails are limited but good. I had to order a Hamms beer. The cheese curds were ok. The filet mignon was good with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The coconut cream pie was good. The service is the real star. Friendly, attentive and the right amount of interactions. This is a Lettuce Entertainment restaurant so they are good at thematic venues. L. Woods delivers a solid performance.

Nadiezhda M.

Yelp
When I went to visit my sister she took me to this amazing restaurant. The food was delicious and their drinks as well. I can't wait to go back and try another meal from their menu: the service was excellent and the ambiance was relaxing.

Rick F.

Yelp
Expensive...not sure the chef ever went to a Wisconsin Fish Fry. Service was excellent

Alex G.

Yelp
The food is LOADED with sugar. Way too sweet. From the tomato soup to the sauce served with the brisket.

John M.

Yelp
Part of the LEYE group, as soon as you walk in you feel as if you are in a Supper Club. Deep earth tones and wood paneled walls brings the feeling of nostalgia and warmth just like the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Prices are not cheap but the quality is not lacking. We started with Frank's Old Fashioned which was delicious and made with High West. They have 4 different Old Fashions to choose from. My wife had the Red Sangria which was flavorful and loaded with fresh fruit. We split the Iceberg Wedge salad which was served with maple glazed thick cut bacon ,red onions and cherry tomatoes. The lettuce was crisp and cold and the blue cheese dressing was very creamy with chunks of fresh blue cheese. My wife is Gluten Free and even tho they offer many food choices they do not print out a menu. You have to look it up online which was a little surprising. We had the broiled whitefish with roasted vegetables and half slab of BBQ ribs with baked potatoe. Both were fantastic. I asked to try their Spicey Devil Sauce on the side with the ribs and it was not too spicey for me. Both portions were just enough to satisfy our appetites. We would definitely go back and maybe try one of their burgers as many customers were having them. FYI..if you want to use your "Dollars Off" from LEYE points, you cannot use on a Saturday.

Denise A.

Yelp
Consistently good food, cocktails & service. Love the chopped salad, ribs & fish offerings

S.K. R.

Yelp
We had meals delivered and they were among the worst I've ever eaten. The fried cauliflower was greasy, the french fries were limp, stuck-together overcooked, and basically inedible, and the rest of the food was tired. The only edible part of the meal was the onion roll. We have eaten at the restaurant and had meals there that were fine. We will never do their delivery meals again.

Dan P.

Yelp
The wife and I went here on New Year's Day after a long walk. The food and beer did not let us down. The bread came to us warm, which is always nice. The wife ordered the buttermilk fried chicken (Sunday special). I tried this and found it to be delicious. The breading is well seasoned and the chicken cooked appropriately. I had the barbecue chicken and Ribs combo with a side of mashed potatoes. This was a massive amount of food, which I appreciate since it was not inexpensive. Got my worth. My one minor complaint about is that I found the barbecue chicken just a touch dry. I also had the lentil soup, which was good. Salty and well seasoned. The service was good and the restaurant occupies a nice space. It was a bit cold inside so we wore our sweatshirts throughout the meal. We will be back here to try other entrees.

Ivan M.

Yelp
Live in the area, always drive by and see the parking lot full on almost a daily basis. I had take out a very long time ago and it was very average, however I always wanted to stop in. Finally did and the food was good but very average nothing that would make me feel like I want to pack the parking lot. Not sure what the attraction is maybe it's the ambiance, old schoolish... or maybe it's the over priced average menu items. I mean come $22 for an average portion of 1/2 BBQ chicken. Very overrated and over priced. I had to eat all my sides and bread to get my moneys worth. I'm sure the chopped steak is the Thursdays meatloaf special!

Eileen B.

Yelp
I love coming to this place. Always a great meal. We came for restaurant week. Had the fell French onion soup, medallions and chocolate cake. We also had ribs, Calamaris and baked potatoes. The house red wine was delicious !!

Laura M.

Yelp
Great food with family for Mothers Day. 1/2 slab baby back ribs were delicious. One of our favorite restaurants!

James K.

Yelp
L Woods is the best! They specialize in comfort food. However, we just had BBQ Baby Back Ribs with baked sweet potatoes. Perfect!! The service was excellent. The waiter was there was when you needed him otherwise he wasn't a bother.

Rachel K.

Yelp
I haven't been to L Woods in a few years, but last Saturday the family and I made the venture out there and had a wonderful night! My parents live in the suburbs and my brother lives in the city, so meeting here was a perfect middle ground. We arrived separately, so my parents and I checked in for our reservation and waited at the bar. I am new to liking beer, so the bartender allowed me to try a few before ordering a full pint - he had a great selection on tap! After a few minutes at the bar and my brother's arrival, we were seated at a table in the back. The restaurant was packed so it was a little loud, but it was really quiet with just 6 tables in this room. I believe this room can also be rented out for private parties. We had a wonderful waiter who let us take our time as we ordered and enjoyed the onion bread (with super soft butter!). For appetizers, we got the crispy cauliflower which was lightly coated in a delicious buffalo sauce with ranch on the side and my parents shared the Shaved Brussel Sprouts salad which was great! For dinner, I had the barbeque Plank Salmon (cooked perfectly, btw) which was surrounded by mashed duchess potatoes and buttered sweet corn. My mom had the Barbeque chicken with a baked potato, my brother's girlfriend had the Shaved Brussel Sprout salad with chicken on top, and my brother and dad each got skirt steaks - one with mashed potatoes, one with a baked potato, and we added an order of creamed spinach as well. Everything was flavorful and delicious and almost all of us went home with leftovers. we ended the night with some key lime pie and the apple strudel!! The key lime was delicious and soooo cold - possibly too cold? and the apple was warm with this incredible caramel sauce on the side (and we added some ice cream as well!)

Andrew M.

Yelp
Amazing food and great atmosphere. This is a great restaurant for the family. I've had most of things on the menu and have not been disappointed yet. Delicious BBQ and classic Midwest fares such as cheese curds. I personally love the pounds chicken in lemon cream sauce with capers. It has the right balance of sweet salts and sour. The have daily specials that go fast and are always the meals of choice of everyone that comes in.

Melissa S.

Yelp
I have eaten here multiple times and my experiences have widely varied. The most recent time was very good. My friend and I were quickly seated despite having no reservation. Our server was great, ambiance was great, and the food was very good: we split a caesar salad and a crab cake appetizer, which was the perfect light lunch with just the right amount of food. We also had a specialty cocktail, which was okay but very watered down. The bill was very reasonable for what we had. I am sure I'll return again soon.

Mark H.

Yelp
Nice dinner in the North Woods of the North Shore We have been coming here for years. The staff and atmosphere has lost a bit of its former glory. We checked in at the front desk, had a reservation and had requested a quiet table , we got seated next to the bar. The front desk staff were neither welcoming nor friendly, no smiles, no hello how are you , no eye contact. That's a serious problem because that is the first point of contact in a restaurant, it happened again with the couple behind us, they almost walked out. Anyway we went back and got a quiet table/booth in the main dining room and then we were fine. The prime rib was spectacular, it always is, never had an issue with this, smooth, perfectly cooked medium rare, nice and lean, just fabulous!! The baked potato was way over cooked, like cutting through leather, how is it possible to mess up baked potato? The skirt steak was fantastic, rare, smooth, just perfect. The server was excellent, attentive, friendly, focused. The service was way too fast, dinner came halfway through salad and we were rushed, but I understand, you need to move tables to drive profit, just slow down a bit. Drinks were excellent.
