The Best MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Seoul

"There’s a youthful air to L7 Hongdae, which makes sense; this boutique hotel is located in one of Seoul’s most creative neighborhoods, Hongdae, known for vibrant street murals, pop-up craft markets, and a large student population. The hotel’s Blue Roof Lounge, a stylish communal space, reflects that artistic energy with billiards tables, a record collection, and a library of design books." - The MICHELIN Guide

Disappointed!!! I booked family room for 4 nights. First night is ok but we see that toilet is not clean that much. We put make up room at door in the morning. When we come back we found that the room stinks!! Toilet is not clean anymore. We sleep like that. We tell staff at the lobby about that smell and also make new reservation for my friend who come later. Because we want to stay at same hotel. The staff changed room for us and I stay in new room. Every morning we put make up room on door and come back to see it is not clean. Last night I want to use hair dyer. Suddenly I was so shocked! It has men underwear behind hair dyer!!!! It’s not new! We are all women! We will never know if I don’t use hair dyer. It seems housekeeper don’t clean room just take some trash that all! I told staff about that when we check out. The staff ask about picture. I show them. I ask them to go and check. They just say sorry. When I come back to get luggages I ask staff that they found men underwear or not? Staff feel confusing. It shows that hotel don’t check it and don’t do anything. If I come with boyfriend, it will have problem! Good thing is only location!!!!!

Gutted this hotel ended up being rubbish! I’ve got another 5 nights here and I’m heartbroken I have to stay! Firstly, there are some pros and if you're used to lower level hotels such as Travelodge/Premier Inn, this will be fine. It's perfectly clean, the staff are friendly (although the english speaking level isn’t good for a hotel) and the bed is comfy. However, there are many, many other problems. Firstly, the breakfast is quite simply one of the worst breakfasts I've ever seen in any hotel anywhere in the world. As a vegetarian, I rely on the hotel breakfasts when I'm in Seoul to feed me for the day. This could not feed anybody. I got a full refund on my breakfast, and I certainly won't be having another one whilst I'm here. Secondly, there is no room to put your stuff in the rooms. My room currently looks like a jumble sale as I am here for a week and I’m having to do what I can with the very limited space. There is no place for your underwear in general and socks so I’ve had to leave them in a carrier bag, and my bras are out on top of the fridge as there is no other option, not very homely! Generally there is no room to put your stuff! No room for accessories such as hats and no room in the bathroom to put anything but yet there is tons of space to allow for those things with some sensible and easy reworking of the room. Compared to the other hotels on this road that I have stayed in, it is very noisy and you can hear the road pretty clearly day and night, along with an air purifier constantly gurgling away, so if you're sensitive to noise during sleep, this is not the place for you. A small but disappointing thing is also the reading light. There are no bedside lights at all. When you push the button that says reading light, it turns on a massive light above your head, so you might as well have all the lights on. I ended up not reading because of this and will have to purchase a reading light I don’t need. On that note, there are no light switches by the door, so when you come into the room, if you haven’t left the lights on previously or leave your key in to cool the room, you have to turn on your torch on your phone so you can navigate the way to the bedside to turn on the lights. The whole layout of the rooms and the hotel does not make logical sense and it needs seriously looking at. I’m really sad I’ve spent my money here and I’ll not be doing it again. I could go on with more but honestly it’s making me depressed. I cannot recommend this place at all!

Read this before you book this hotel: We paid about 170€ per night but there’s literally no amenities in this hotel!! - you have to pay extra for the pool EVERYTIME you want to use it!! And for whatever reason they only open the pool till October even if the weather is warm/hot so from October on this pool is non existent basically. - when they close the pool, the whole rooftop is closed too at least during the day, the elevators don’t even go to this floor any longer. So you don’t have any open air area available. If you’re a smoker you need to take the lift downstairs every time and exit the hotel - you plan to get a drink at the hotel bar with your date / girlfriend during the day? Forget it!!! There’s a very pricey restaurant inside the hotel on the 21st floor which isn’t worth its money but you can’t order a drink there unless you order food! No joke!! they force you to eat something and then you can drink something. Incredible. - if you want to have breakfast in that overpriced restaurant you have to declare it ONE DAY IN ADVANCE. so casually feeling hungry a morning? Forget it!! You didn’t declare yesterday. Also it’s 15€ the breakfast and it’s just not worth it. - the gym is a joke and not worth it’s name. The highest weight is 14 (!!!)kg and there’s almost no machine. - the rooms are very small for the price you pay. - there isn’t even any hotel lobby downstairs, it’s on the 21nd floor but you never go there because why would you? - they don’t even check you in, you have to do it yourself on a screen not even joking!!! In a nutshell for 100€ this would have been an okish hotel but not for that price. This has been one of the very few disappointing experiences of all hotels I’ve visited so far and I wouldn’t come back here but rather go to any other 4 star hotel that’s in the area.

Terrible experience – hygiene issue and poor customer care We stayed at L7 Hongdae by Lotte and found a large cockroach next to our bed at 1 a.m. The staff refunded the night, but we had to leave the hotel in the middle of the night, pay 400,000 KRW for another hotel, and cover our own taxi at 2 a.m. because they refused to help. The new hotel was far away and caused more inconvenience the next day. Despite contacting them twice, the hotel refused any compensation or gesture of goodwill. For a hotel under the Lotte brand, I expected much higher standards of cleanliness and customer service. Very disappointing experience. Definitely not worth the stress, money, and lost sleep.

This place was trash and smelled like mold. We left and went to the Marriott. They told us we had to leave a review in order to get into our room. So sketchy. If you’re a gen z hype beast I guess this place will do but honestly just go to the Marriott next door - the Marriott next door is so nice and breakfast is amazing.

I had a fantastic stay at L7 Hongdae by Lotte. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the vibrant Hongdae district, surrounded by trendy cafes, shops, and street performances. It’s perfect for both day and night exploration. The hotel itself is stylish and modern, with a youthful, artistic vibe that reflects the spirit of the area. My room was clean, well-designed, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated the large windows with great city views.Staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with directions or recommendations. The rooftop bar was a highlight—great atmosphere, good drinks, and a stunning view of Seoul’s skyline.Overall, L7 Hongdae by Lotte is a great choice for travelers looking to experience the energy of Seoul while enjoying a comfortable and trendy hotel stay. I would definitely return!

Very accommodating staff members. Especially the woman that checked us in. Smells fantastic in the hotel lobby waiting area. Parking was easy as well! Recommended staying here! 10/10

This is not worth the price at all. Room is dirty, the hygiene is poor, and the service is not worth it. The air conditioner is noisy, the bedsheets are dirty, and makes me feel terrible. To protect the environment, using glass cups is the right choice, not just paper cups.
