"La Abundancia Bakery & Restaurant masters the art of quick eats without subbing quality for speed. With a focus on breakfast, this bakery and restaurant hybrid makes a killer version of huevos revueltos (scrambled eggs). Always served with homemade arepas and queso, these scrambled eggs are whipped up to order with fresh peppers, onions, and salsa thrown into the mix. For the offal lovers out there: Try La Abundancia’s higado encebollado, which is braised beef liver served with sautéed onions, rice and beans, and is ridiculous. La Abundancia Bakery is open indoor dining, takeout, and delivery via GrubHub and Seamless." - Tommy Ranucci

Google
i'm not one to leave reviews but heads up, if you pay cash the waitress will just chose her own tip and only give you the change amount she choses. In every other establishment, you leave the tip amount after receiving your change NOT like she did without consent.

Good chicken and bean sopa. The hostess was good, not very friendly but not unfriendly; efficient is a good way to describe her.

Stopped by in the morning and had breakfast (calenta'o) and took some baked stuff home. The music, the service, and the FOOD were all 5 star. Will be back again (and again). Excited to try more!

Google
This place is gold!! Best Colombian I’ve tried so far. Great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Really nice staff and phenomenal food, definitely worth checking out!

Google
My mother and I were in the city and decided to try this restaurant because it had good reviews. We weren’t disappointed. The food and the service were good. The prices are reasonable. The only complaint is that there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. Overall, I recommend this place.

Google
Amazing!! Great food! Really friendly staff. I speak zero Spanish, but we communicated! So much fun. Tilapia was awesome! Fried plantains. Wow.

Google
Delicious food, great prices, friendly staff. There's somewhat of a language barrier but that's not an issue. The food took some time to come, but the wait was well worth it

Yelp
The food was awesome and fresh! The service was good... the lady here is super nice and friendly. Take her suggestions if you're uncertain of anything. The ambiance was nice and cozy... feels like home Everything was on point... Glad we came

Yelp
Delicious food in East Boston! At first, I tried to order take-out via Yelp, but that function wasn't working, so I ended up placing my order over the phone. The person who answered the phone didn't speak any English, but my high school Spanish class did me well, as I was able to place a take-out order successfully. I had the Bandeja Paisa, and my parents each got the Plato La Abundancia. All of our meals were very tasty. The chicharrones had us drooling. Sooooooo good! The portions are a good size, too, so we were able to split half for dinner and the other half for the next day's lunch. We also ordered the tres leches cake and some other items from the display case, which were good. I'd for sure come back here to see what else they have to offer.

Yelp
We came here today ate outside by the road. I liked the option because I had my puppy with me. I ordered 2, 3 chicken tacos, 1 chicken quesadillas and shrimp / rice dish. It was around $50. We waited a bit but it was worth the wait. The best was the fried plantain... I am still dreaming about it. It was so GOOD!! I can eat their fried plantains everyday... yum.

Yelp
Stopped in to look for snacks and hit the jackpot. We picked up some of the fried items. Not sure of the names but the one with corn on the outside and mashed potatoes inside was super, chicken empanadas and beef. The deserts were great. Can't wait to order out some entrees!

Bailee P.

Yelp
Wow. I had the best quesadilla I have ever had from here today. I got the chicken quesadilla and my boyfriend got the steak. They were so delicious and the restaurant was so cute. I can't wait to come back and try the burrito too!!

Anshita S.

Yelp
Always a good experience dining here. My husband and I make sure to eat here when we are at the salon next door. The ingredients are always fresh and the food is prepared right in front of you. The bakery items are very good and their empanadas are to die for. Must visit if you are in the area.

Yelp
As a Colombian, I have to say the food here is absolutely wonderful. We first tried them out during quarantine as we missed eating Colombian food. Not only does their menu have the staples of Colombian culture, the service over the phone to delivery is pristine. They were kind and patient as we decided what we wanted and were accommodating of substitutions. Also, the food is ridiculously cheap. You get a humongous portion of food that can feed 3 people for like 16 with tax and delivery and before tip. My husband, who's British, absolutely loves the food here as well so we've ordered from them multiple times now - no complaints!

Yelp
Don't know why this place doesn't have more reviews! The coffee and pastries are inexpensive and a nice, quick breakfast. The cheese croissant, guava pastry, and salty-cheese bread are really good, and the smell of the coffee with milk and sugar is yum. Breakfast is filling for $8-10 and comes with a coffee or hot chocolate. The lunch plates are $10-13 and come with rice, salad, beans, and plantains. The two hot sauces (especially the red one) are delicious and pair well. The waitress/woman behind the counter is accommodating and friendly. I recommend you give it a try!

Tia L.

Yelp
My first experience here was great! I live around the corner and am always looking for different places to eat. The woman at the counter was nice and spoke English well. I chose a chicken burrito which I would give 3 out of 5 stars. The menu states it comes with guacamole and sour cream (and I think salsa but I'm not sure) but they came in little tiny cups on the side. Personally I'd prefer that in there because it's hard to eat while pausing to put sour cream and guac on your bites. The chicken was great quality, not that frozen chicken the people next door use. You can watch them cook your food which is reassuring in this area. The kitchen is very clean. My last thing was that my burrito was cut very diagonal which makes it hard to take your first bites and keep everything in. But over all I will definitely be back to try some more things, I'm curious about the breakfast!

Bond J.

Yelp
I've eaten here a couple of dozen times. I love the meat lovers breakfast burrito but the last time I had it it wasn't as good as usual. I'll give them a pass. The chairs are too big for the tables here. Definitely an oddity.

Yelp
Came in for lunch with my mom. We had some ribs, potato salad, rice, and soup. Was not a fan of the potato salad or ribs. The soup was amazing though!! I also had Lulo juice. Lulo is a fruit. A bit sweet/tart with smooth consistency. They had an array of colombian options, empanadas, sweets, pan de bonos, etc. Will definitively come back!

Yelp
Fish soup was delicious, and huge bowl with tons of fish; beef plate was a large steak, and tasty. Well worth a visit, try the native dishes!

Yelp
Arrived in Boston early(5am) Sunday, 5/26/19. Skimmed Yelp for somewhere unique to grab some breakfast near Logan airport. At first I decided to try Mi Rancho. A Colombian breakfast felt like it would fit the bill. I showed up at 615am to find the doors still locked & nobody there. According to the store sign & Yelp, its supposed to open at 6am. I saw another place next door. La Abundancia. Yelped it, saw it was also Colombian. And open. It's a very small and unassuming spot. Nothing fancy about it. A handful of tables. There was a Spanish radio station playing. Lady at front said hello & handed me a menu. I did notice. Aside from one guy coming in for a coffee to go, I was the only customer there. Maybe Sunday early mornings are typically slow? I'm not sure. I chose the Calentado. Steak, egg, rice & beans. She asked if I wanted tomato & onions in the eggs. And corn arepa with cheese on side. I said yes to both. Added some hot sauce & it hit the spot. Next time, I would like to try some of that wonderful pork with the chicharrones attached to it. I was sad they did not have any guava pastries, roscones. Would have loved to take some to go. Still, I'm very satisfied to have found this place to dine.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! I got the American breakfast and everything was cooked to perfection. The only problem I had was the the waitress was very unwelcoming because I did not speak fluent spanish. She seemed confused as to why I was there. Also, not really a bakery more of a breakfast place.

Chris P.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic. Can't recommend enough. Had a chicken burrito that was jaw-droppingly good. Makes me miss Los Angeles so much. Will definitely come back here. It's pretty rare I give 5 stars, but this place really earned it. Excellent service, plenty of seating, delicious food, local family-owned type place. Only downside is CASH ONLY. Still a great place though.

Rodney D.

Yelp
As abundant as the name suggest. Cheap, delicious and abundantly portioned breakfast which come with either a medium coffee or hot chocolate. Didn't try the hot chocolate with mint but eager to next time we come!

Andy C.

Yelp
Really delicious!!! Best chicken and rice in a while!!! And their smoothies... out of this world... and somewhere in Pura Vida world... I'n definitely going to be back!

Dan G.

Yelp
Came here one night after dinner as it was the only place open. My friends and I each got a piece of tres leches cake which was really yummy of course. This bakery has a set up where you could go and relax with a friend of coffee and dessert....or not.

Todd S.

Yelp
Good Colombian food at a fair price. Service is fast and friendly. We like the pandebono bread, Cazuela de mariscos (seafood cream soup), and the chorizo. you won't be disappointed. Neighborhood is a little weird, but it's in front of a police station, so what more do you want?

Andrew B.

Yelp
Hands down the best Columbian Cafe I've been to in my 1 year living in East Boston. Coffee from Columbia, authentic Columbian dishes, a menu in spanish that I couldn't read! I couldn't ask for more! I had a waitress order for me, she me got a version of huevos rancheros with red beans and rice for lunch. The plate was huge, everything tasted fresh. the staff is super nice and willing to work with white guys like me who don't speak spanish! I highly recommend and will be going back SOON!

Maria C.

Yelp
My mom was getting her hair done at the salon next door so in the mean time I decided to come here and eat. It is a Colombian restaurant I ordered the "camarones con crema" it was amazing!!! It comes with about 6 shrimps covered in this white seasoned cream with a side of white rise and plantains. The plantains did seem a bit to greasy but nonetheless delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and so pleasant to talk too. I love getting to know different Hispanic restaurant and learn about their foods. And who doesn't love a Colombian accent! Cmon!!!!

Justin S.

Yelp
GREAT FOOD. I always make sure I'm ready for lunch when I'm in the area. Have been here 3 times and can say the food was delicious every time. The server Christian also made a few suggestions that weren't on the menu, for example a fruit smoothie that was so rich and tasty. 5/5 hands down

Yelp
I've just started a new job in East Boston, and there are SO many places to eat here! Thus, I expect to be very busy on Yelp. My first stop, La Abundancia was recommended by some co workers. This place just opened a few weeks ago, so everything is sparkling clean and new looking. It's only half a block from my office, and the coffee is great! Win! I came here early in the morning with high expectations, after all, it's run by Colombians, and I was not disappointed, I'll be coming back regularly. In fact, I came back for lunch. It's raining and I didn't feel like wandering around too much. I got the Chicken Sudado, a classic Latin American stew like dish, it was today's special and it was delicious! Served with rice and a small side salad for $8.50. One of the guys I work with happened to be sitting at the end of the counter when I sat down, he had the Lentil Soup which he said was great. The staff is a little weak in the English speaking department, which is fine by me, I was hoping to brush up on my Spanish while assigned here. After all, East Boston is 70% Spanish speaking, so they tell me.

Uday S.

Yelp
Great ambience and authentic colombian food. Seating on the lower side, esp for big groups.

Jonatas S.

Yelp
CREDIT CARD is accepted, I don't no if this is a recent option or not, but I went today and used my Credit Card. This place has one of the best bunuelos I've had, colombian bunuelos are the best,. The place is clean, friendly, it has a simple cafe menu, it's not a full restaurant per se, most dishes are a variation of meat with rice plate of the day. it has an open kitchen where you can see your meal prepared on the spot. It has many drink options.

Ria S.

Yelp
When I heard about yet another Colombian restaurant/bakery opening in East Boston, I could only roll my eyes. However, I was pleasantly pleased with this bakery/restaurant. I buy my breakfast breads here and they are great. It's a cute bakery that closes late, which is great. Good overall.

Henry L.

Yelp
Went there for the first time today. It is an attractive place which looks very nice. There is a variety of goods that taste nicely. It is a gem. It is too bad that it so far away, otherwise I would be a regular. The women running the place are extremely kind and nice. There is a mix of food including Latin food. If they moved closer to me I would give them more. The only complaint is weak coffee.

Melissa Z.

Yelp
Their rice and beans are yummy yummy yummy! Service is great. Ordered breakfast here once, but I usually order rice and beans
