La Baita is a small but classical Itlian restaurant in Chingford. the owner Piero, has been their for donkey years and im sad to hear that is retiring soon. The food is a treat, paticular note goes to the creamy carbonara, proper italian garlic and bread and very sweet strawberry ice cream. As mentioned before, its small but the tiles with images of some of the stunning Itlians towns and the lamps make a very cosy, unformal feel. The restaurant is of course not without its famous visitors, there are scores of photos and autographs all over the place, and recent visitors include Sir Alan Sugar and Sid Owen (who sadly, didnt get a table) the only drawback is its not that cheap, but i think for the friendliness and food, its sure to be worth it.
