"Québec’s Coolest Hangout When I say that La Barberie is Québec’s coolest hangout I’m really not exaggerating. I promise! For starters, there is no food on the menu snacks (at least on the day I visited). This is actually not a bad thing because you can just bring your own lunch or dinner and stick to ordering beers. Now in its 15th year, La Barberie wears the crown as Québec’s first micro-brewery. Besides the delicious locally brewed beers, you can even take a few home. They bottle a few varieties and it’s a great way to enjoy your brew both here and at home. They also plant their own tomatoes and other herbs and freely give them away to customers. Above all, the prices are extremely fair. I personally tried their sampler which consisted of with beers (if I remember correctly) and that equals roughly two pints. This was $15 CAD. The crowd is very friendly and ranges from young professionals to middle-aged couples and pretty much everyone in between. More on Bohemian Trails . By Megan Eileen McDonough"

The Best Bars in Quebec City - Eater Montreal

"Drawing crowds for its luxurious side-street terrace and it’s impressive selection of house-brewed beers, Barberie is a pillar and a pioneer for craft beer in Québec that strives to constantly renew and polish its products. It’s Québec City’s only “bring your own food” establishment, too." - Allison Van Rassel

To be clear, 5 Stars for their beer. They offer diverse styles, with IPA only making up a balanced proportion. Traditional beers, aged sours, stouts, and especially chocolate stouts, and more, round out the offerings. Staff were very helpful and were able to help assist us even though we lacked any French. I ordered the mussels and expected a huge Belgian bowl of steamed mussels. Instead, I got a small bowl of pickled mussel meats that were delicious and sufficiently plentiful for my needs. This was my second visit, my first being a decade ago. I do love this brewery and pub.

Mixed feelings. Beer and food are decent, service you tell me: I was there with a couple friends, two of us having beers, and the third person asked for water. On a not too busy day, the waiter told him: you know, water is in self service and the fountain is over there... Alright, on a busy day, I get it, but if the place is not that busy, maybe this guy should remember that the one who wants to make a tip is him, not the client. And we did not order only a couple beers, we had food and snacks too. Normally that grants you a glass of water without having to walk into the kitchen.

Great experience. Relaxing Sunday. Located slightly outside the core old town, La Barberie boasts a huge patio, a large selection of beer and some great eats. Definitely go with the flight if you're not familiar with the choices. I was impressed by the variety. The cacao vanilla stout was a standout. In addition, there was someone to watch the kids while we enjoyed our food and drink. Will be back soon hopefully!

Great place for lunch and beer. Met my daughter there and we had great IPA and white beer. The bartender/server was great. The patates bravas were probably my favorite! My daughter loved the mussels but I like hot seafood..not cold. The pide just ok. Great laid back atmosphere. We took beer home with us to enjoy later.

Nestled in the heart of Quebec, La Barberie - Microbrasserie is a hidden gem for beer enthusiasts. The atmosphere is an embodiment of comfort and relaxation, with a charming decor that exudes warmth. The wooden fixtures and cozy ambiance create the perfect backdrop for an afternoon or evening of sipping on craft brews. Speaking of the beer, it doesn't disappoint. I had the pleasure of trying the Mégafruits Raptor, and it left a lasting impression. The blend of flavors and craftsmanship was evident in each sip. It's a must-try for those seeking a unique and flavorful brew. The service at La Barberie is a highlight in itself. The staff is not only attentive but also incredibly welcoming. They're more than happy to guide you through their extensive beer menu, helping you find the perfect match for your taste. Overall, La Barberie - Microbrasserie is a haven for beer lovers. The relaxed atmosphere, combined with top-notch service and a selection of exceptional brews, makes it a spot you'll want to visit again and again. Whether you're a local or a traveler exploring Quebec, this microbrewery is a must-visit destination for an evening of beer, camaraderie, and pure enjoyment. 🍻🏞️ #QuébecBrews

The beer was fantastic! There is a large outdoor patio and a good amount of seating indoors. I didn't try the food. The sour beer slushies were phenomenal. I've never had anything like it. I think they brewed a sour beer with a few different fruits and then used those same fruits as a puree in the slushy mixture.

If I could give 6 stars I would. Great selection of beer and the small plates approach is well done. The mussels and onglet de boeuf were especially good. Service friendly and knowledgeable. Huge outdoor terrace.

Excellent stop for those with pups (and those without) when heading through Quebec City. Close to the highway, and dogs allowed inside. Nachos and chili hit the spot. We also picked up some of their beers for our apres-ski at Le Massif!
