La Bastide en Gascogne - Relais & Châteaux

What a gem!! We recently spent four magical nights with friends at La Bastide en Gascogne and left wishing we had booked a longer stay. Tucked away in the serene French countryside, this stunning property offered everything we could have hoped for—and more. From the moment we arrived, the service was nothing short of impeccable. Whether it was arranging a private wine tasting, providing local shopping recommendations, or ensuring there was always exquisite food and wine at our fingertips, the staff went above and beyond with every request. The level of attention and care shown by every member of the team truly made us feel like honored guests. Our room was elegant, beautifully appointed, and perfectly air-conditioned—ideal for relaxing after a day in the sun. The pool was an absolute highlight: cool, refreshing, and surrounded by the peaceful charm of the countryside. Evenings were a delight, with dinner served to perfection—each dish more delicious than the last, complemented by a wonderful selection of local wines. We’d like to extend a special thank you to Mimsy, Damian, Kim, Helen, Maddie, Elissa, Mari-Ange, Christophe, Ennis, and Matteau. Your warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail made our stay truly unforgettable. La Bastide en Gascogne exceeded all our expectations—we can’t wait to return!

Amazing location with a warm and welcoming team. Beautiful room and a great salon with an open fire place. Excellent menu and an entertaining service. Breakfast was solid and good but no comparison to the diner level. Spa was okayish, clean and great service, but more limited than I expected.

We spent 2 nights in la bastide and really enjoyed it. This place has a slightly informal vibe at times, but in a way that doesn't take away from high quality experience. Even the simpler room was lovely, and our dog was welcome throughout. We didn't realise when booking how much space there was around the property (both in and out) to just chill out. The restaurant is definitely a highlight - we had dinner there twice, and both were excellent (despite a little mix-up regarding a special dinner). A second highlight is the staff who in general were very warm and sweet, with an extra shout to Maddie (both at dinner and breakfast) whose cheerful attitude was contagious, and Luciana who took great care of us at dinners (for example providing a mosquito spray when we had a table near a hedge). It's small touches like this that show you care and preparation in the team. On this occasion we didn't visit the village but it's very near for those who want a bit more variety for food.

Such an amazing place! My wife and I love spending a night there once in a while. Lovely staff, beautiful decoration with a lot of taste, and 5 star bedrooms. Looks like they're having a horseflies problem this summer that almost ruined our sunset drinks, but well that is countryside after all :)

Good starter and amazing Hereford beef main course. The atmosphere and decor are stunning. I wish they had a wider selection of deserts. I would highly recommend and will be back!

We had a relaxing stay at La Bastide. The hotel is part of a larger more medically focused complex where people come to enjoy the benefits of the natural thermal waters. The hotel is separate however and that shouldn't put you off. Large comfortable rooms with huge bathrooms. A lovely fireplace to sit and enjoy a post dinner drink. A nice outdoor pool with bed around and a lovely restaurant. What's not to like? We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as it was expensive at €26 per person. There are shops and cafes 5 mins walk on the Main Street of the village. We bought a bag of mixed croissants for a couple of Euro from the local Boulangerie which did us for breakfast and lunch. The little cafe at the very start of the village does nice coffee and croissant for a couple of Euro also. Lovely hotel. Definitely worth a visit. Rooms were good value compared to our Relais & Chateau hotels in the area. The only slight disappointment was that the spa area open to hotel guests is very small with a steam room and large jacuzzi only. There are some treatment rooms. Outdoor pool is good though. €€€

Great room ,#6, good bathroom. Chincy with the bottles of water. The tap water is fine but my wife prefers bottles. The first is free you pay for the rest. Breakfast was included in our package. It was ok.
