Brand New Eateries to Check Out in Los Angeles - Eater LA

"Try pizza’s lighter cousin pinsa at La Bella Pinseria Romana in Glendale. While pinsas aren’t noticeably different from pizzas at first glance, the dough is made using a blend of soy flour, rice flour, wheat flour, and dry sourdough for an airier texture. Try pinsas topped with everything from lamb sausage to boquerones (white anchovies) and mushrooms." - Cathy Chaplin

Went for dinner then for lunch on a second day both times the food was absolutely delicious ;the pizza is made with an airy dough that is I believe 75% water and the rest is sourdough. It has the best crunch and when you dip it in the fettuccine Alfredo cream sauce, it taste mouthwatering I would recommend this place to anybody and everybody everything is made fresh to order with amazing ingredients that you can taste. If you have the pleasure of meeting the owner Belle she is the sweetest kindest soul !

Visited twice for dinner and once for lunch while staying in Glendale recently. Staff were awesome. Food was wonderful. The bone marrow and the black mussels especially. My daughter is a very fussy eater and insisted we come back as she loved the rigatoni and truffle fries. Would love to come back on a future visit.

So good!! If you’re ever in Glendale make sure you stop in La Bella! One of the best Italian dishes I’ve had in a long time. The portion very generous, service is great and the ambiance is beautiful. I highly recommend and will be back for sure. :)

We went for dinner for the first time yesterday night and we were impressed by the quality of the food. They were really busy with Christmas groups dining there and even with that they offered a good service. The meatballs and the truffle fries are amazing. Pinsas are good too! Thank you. God bless this place and all people working there :)

Google
This is our family's absolute favorite pizza (pinsa) place. If you're tired of the usual Domino's-type pizza joints and want something lighter, healthier, more authentic and most delicious, try La Bella. The dough crust is so delicate, not thick & heavy like the others. And the toppings are eclectic & esoteric for the States but authentic for Italy. The owner, Belle, and her husband have a wonderful, quiet restaurant, perfect to bring out-of-town visitors to enjoy quality Glendale cuisine.

I was craving Italian and we made a stop here with my husband. The food was so amazing and delicious we can’t wait to go back. We got the octopus appetizer and Caesar salad. Then we got the fungi pizza which was the best pizza I have bit into crispy and just so tasty , then we got the fettuccine Alfredo and short ribs pasta and the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. The service was great and attentive our waiter was awesome. This place needs more credit it’s worth it.

Was craving some pizza close by our hotel room and found this spot. Came in close to closing time and they still provided us with great service and quality food!

Google
I don’t recommend this place. I grew up with authentic Italian cooking and this place isn’t even close. Plus they charged $9 extra to add chicken to my pasta and this is what they gave me.

Yelp
This place was sooo good ! Me and the bf got the funghi misti pinsa (mushroom pizza), the alla salsiccia pinsa (oh my god the round soft pork meatballs on this pizza were DIVINEEEEEEeee), the carbonara, spaghetti bolognese, calamari, garlic bread, and key lime pie. They were all excellent but my favorite was the carbonara because I am quite the carbonara lover Maya was our server and she was also amazing. She was impeccable on timing and knew exactly when to come to the table to help us box up stuff we couldn't finish as the courses came so that we could have more space on our table but she also didn't rush us and checked with us if we were still enjoying certain dishes instead of just taking them which is always something that has taken away or detracted from my experience so I'm glad she didn't do that :) she was also so nice and gave us such good energy Overall a very lovely experience. We will be back now :) thank you La Bella Pinseria Romana

Yelp
Stopped by on 12/31 for dinner. Unfortunately was understaffed with only one server but we were not in a hurry as it was an early dinner. They did close early for a private NYE party, though the staff for the party could have helped the overwhelmed single server. Food was good and filling. We shared some appetizers and each got pizza or pasta entrees. The four pork pizza was a little salty, but probably expected. The pastas were all pretty filling and generous with the meats. Ample street parking just read the signs. Meters on Central or take your chances in the neighborhood.

Yelp
It's probably my fifth visit and each time the food was fresh and great. You cant go wrong with Italian food. A lot of tables, nice and cute design. It's very comfy and perfect to spend time with your close people. Definitely will be back and will bring my friends. And by the way, they have a nice wine selection. What else do you need for a great time..

Yelp
I was very impressed with this place! I visited with my family, and we found the atmosphere to be incredibly spacious and inviting. The decor is lovely, and I appreciated that it wasn't loud, which allowed for enjoyable conversation. Right when we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a staff member, which set a positive tone for our visit. We ordered several dishes: bruschetta, truffle fries, prosciutto di Parma pizza, seafood pasta, and fettuccine Alfredo. The bruschetta and truffle fries were absolutely delicious and surprisingly addictive! The seafood pasta, which included clams and shrimp, was cooked perfectly--not overdone--and seasoned just right. The pasta had a delightful al dente texture. The fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was rich and creamy, making it quite filling. However, our least favorite dish was the prosciutto di Parma pizza. Unfortunately, the dough was hard and chewy, and it lacked seasoning, making it taste rather bland. Overall, the customer service was excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly, consistently checking in on us to ensure we were enjoying our meal. A quick note: there is street parking available, so be prepared to find a spot nearby!

Yelp
We came here for the Italian food and we were not disappointed. It's a nice classy restaurant that's perfect for all occasions. The service is very professional, friendly, and helpful. The food that we ate was amazingly solid. Their bone marrow was my favorite! We would totally come here again! Parking can be a bit tricky but you will most likely have to street park!

Yelp
Wanted Italian and found this place. Figured it had decent reviews so we would try it. Overall, not a bad experience but I wouldn't venture back. The pasta and sauces were decent but you have to ask for bread and when we did, it was dry and over toasted. On top of that the soda is really experience back Fs a can so no refills. I would have liked to known that up front and I would have just gotten water instead and saved myself nearly $5. Also, the portion sizes are pretty small, especially for the cost. I will say, our server was friendly enough, the bathrooms were clean and the place was decorated cute. However, trust, there are better Italian places in the area. I wouldn't waste your time on this one.

Yelp
What an amazing service. From first interaction where we had parking challenges to service and attention to details, to tasty food. Everything was great and staff and manager were very attentive to details. The food was amazing and the flavors mashed well. Definitely coming back on my next visit to Los Angeles

Yelp
Worth the try: try the pinsas, whichever sounds good to you! Tip: pinsa is different from pizza! It's a type of flatbread, a Roman style of hand-pressed dough made from a blend of premium quality flours, rice, soy, and wheat, making it a healthier alternative to pizza. Calamari ($19): calamari fritti, fried pickled jalapeños, piquillo pepper sauce, lemon meyer aioli. Burrata Pinsa ($20): San Marzano tomato sauce, burrata, grana panado (cheese), Calabrian chiles, arugula, oregano. Generous amounts of buratta on each piece. The dough is crunchy. The peppers add a nice touch. Casarecce ($26): short twisted pasta with bone marrow, wild mushroom, veal reduction, and parmigiano-reggiano. A very rich dish. The pasta was nicely al dente, the bone marrow added great flavor. Overall great but wish they added more Parmesan on top. PARKING: Lots of nearby street parking, easily found a spot on a weekday. Could be a different story on the weekend. SERVICE: AMAZING service!! The servers greeted us by our first names through the night and made sure we had everything we needed. Truly made us feel like family here. AMBIANCE: Lovely restaurant in Downtown Glendale. Spacious with lots of tables. Perfect for date nights, groups, or those looking for an Italian fix. My partner and I were craving Italian and stumbled upon this place. Compared to other Italian restaurants nearby, this place is affordable with generous portions. I'm usually skeptical about Italian places, but this place is a reliable go-to spot!

Yelp
Food was great , service was bad /OK . I just moved to the neighborhood and I went to walk over and put an order . As I walking up she is outside. She did not greet me . Rather stood her ground and looking at me daringly . and I asked her if she's the hostess and if I can see a menu. Finally letting me inside . She given weird vibes, asking me why I don't order online , like she's mad to have a customer sitting inside her restaurant ? I think to myself , Well lady because my balcony looks at your store front , and I can do what I want ! I just told her I live across the street , she was very unkind to me , yet when another group of women enter she greeting them warmly , yet giving me that third degree "WHY YOU DONT ORDER ONLINE AND PICK UP " Ok sorr-yyy !!! Phew my business was not appreciated .

Yelp
We recently dined at this lovely Italian restaurant and had a wonderful experience overall. The Cozze Nera was amazing! The mussels were cooked to perfection, and the sauces were absolutely delicious. The waitress was very attentive and noticed how much we enjoyed the dish. She kindly offered us more bread to dip My wife decided to go for the Seafood Pasta. The pasta was cooked nicely, al dente, with just the right amount of flavor.  We would have liked to incorporate additional seafood, such as calamari, which could have enhanced the dish. I ordered the Branzino and was delighted to find that I received two filets. The dish was absolutely delightful, with the pureed celery adding the ideal finishing touch to the fish. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and was well-maintained. While there were a few minor areas that could be improved, the food was of exceptional quality and the service was outstanding, making for a truly delightful dining experience. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Not busy at all on a Tuesday dinner time- and I can see why. Service was OK. - Caprese Salad 4.2/5 Different with the pesto. It's refreshing and light tasting. - Seafood Pasta 3.8/5 For an Italian place, they sure overcook the noodles. The sauce is not too creamy and not too tomato-y. Ask for red pepper flakes and hot sauce: add that in. Several pieces of mussels and shrimp. They cooked the shrimp well. - Margarita Pizza 2.1/5 Tastes like cheese pizza with a sad basil on top. The crust tastes good but overall it's a disappointing pizza. Would not get the margarita again. It definitely needed more sauce. - Limone dessert 4.4/5 It's refreshing, light, and not too sweet. It would get a 5 if it tasted more fresh. Tastes like it's been made days before and kept in the fridge. Street paid parking.

Yelp
Wow I'm so sad this place used to be so good when it first opened. They had amazing pizza they would bring out fresh (house bread) with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette complementary. We ordered (Garlic bread) never got it but was on our bill. We ask for fresh jalapeños got pickled I rather them say they don't have any instead of bring out a substitutions. we asked for a burrata pizza instead we got I can't even describe what we got in words but it was not what we expected. we took off a lot of the cheese and pushed it to the side because it was a overload. We ate the pizza anyways because we were starving. When the server came around, we didn't want to make him feel bad so when he asked if it was good, we just said yes it was out of respect. Overall for us personally it was not the same service or experience in taste we have gotten before. we wish the business best of luck and hope it improves for the better in the future.

Yelp
The food wasn't ready when it said it would be ready. When the waiter told me the order was ready, he held his arm up with the bag and had me walk over to him to retrieve the bag. He wasn't even looking at me as he was looking at the order tickets which was MEGA RUDE. I looked inside the bag and it was just the Togo box with the pasta. No napkins, utensils, parmesan, nothing. I wasn't even asked if there was anything I needed or a simple "Thank you, have a good night." What am I paying high end prices for only to receive fast food customer service? On top of that, the food portion was less than what I usually get. Chicken was overcooked. No garnish. And it wasn't even a busy night. I'm sorry but do better. Not coming back.

Yelp
On a mini vacation in Glendale and found this Pinseria on Yelp. Fantastic find! Will definitely be back next time we are in Glendale. We were there for lunch and shared La Bella Salad along with a scrumptious Alla Salsiccia Pizza. Wish we could've added a pasta dish or another pizza, but you can only eat so much, right? Next time for sure. Awesome friendly service from Ben that added to our delicious meal. Always nice to have great service with a great meal. Very nice locale with a cute outdoor seating area as well. Highly recommend this place to anyone who likes pizza!

Yelp
I came here for a holiday work party and I did not expect the food to be this amazing! I'm already planning on coming back here again. La Bella Salad: 5/5 It was super fresh. The tomatoes and dressing paired well together. I also liked that the ratio of salad to dressing was good. Not too much dressing. Gamberoni All' Aglio: 4/5 Mussels: 4/5 The sauce that came with it was really good. Calamari: 5/5 I liked that it also came with deep fried jalapenos too! It came with two different sauce, and the jalapeno in the orange sauce was bomb. Seafood Pasta: 5/5 The shrimp that came with it was a nice juicy size, it was peeled for you up until the tail. Pappardelle (Braised Short Rib Pasta): 4/5 I would give the short rib a 5/5 because it was so tender and flavorful. The pasta and the sauce that came with it was okay. Casarecce (Bone Marrow Pasta): 5/5 I don't know what it was called... But I think it's this one? I really enjoyed the cheese on this pasta! It was subtle, but super sharp at the same time. I was sad I was so full already. But I'll definitely get this again. Funghi Misti Pizza: 4/5 It was toasted really well. Salmon (Risotto with salmon): 5/5!! I really enjoyed this plate as well. This one ran out really fast at our table. The risotto was bursting with flavor. Budino di Pane (Bread pudding): 4/5 It was spongy, not too sweet.

Yelp
Visited on New Year's Day with my boyfriend and his parents as it's halfway between where we live, so I'm not familiar with the area or this restaurant. It seemed like a somewhat fancier spot for dinner to celebrate the new year and my boyfriend and his father's birthday. Decor is excellent, and we appreciated that they were dog friendly for my therapy dog. Unfortunately, the place was horribly understaffed and this caused a few issues that makes this a place I'd need to try again to actually recommend it to anyone. They apologized and did the best they could, but looking at other reviews this seems like a common occurrence for this restaurant. Our drinks were totally forgotten (thankfully I was able to get someone's attention after getting my meal to get my wine) and there was no one to check on us or even refill our water. The menus were left on the table, and the food came out bit by bit instead of all together. The food was decent but not really worth the price point. I appreciated that the Lobster Ravioli wasn't fishy tasting, which can happen at lower quality places, but the plating left a lot to be desired. It was also lacking some serious seasoning. Seemed on par with Olive Garden to be honest. For nearly $30 I guess I just expected a bit more pizazz. Speaking of, the pizza was actually really good. The dough was so flavorful and they didn't skimp on the toppings. Clearly I should have opted for their signature item here instead of pasta. I also feel like salad or bread is a low cost way to add value to the meal and make it feel like it's worth the $25-$30 price point for personal pizzas and pasta. Plus when you're understaffed it gives your guests something to munch on while they wait... and we waited a good long time for our food. I hate to be the one asking for something in exchange for a poor experience, but there didn't seem to be any manager or authority figure to even apologize for the slow service. Just some understandably stressed servers... Overall, it truly wasn't bad. Overpriced will happen in southern California, and if you stick to just pizza and maybe shell out for an appetizer on a day they're not understaffed you'll be fine. If I find myself in the area again perhaps I'll pop in and see if there are more stars in their future.

Yelp
I've only been there twice but each time I've been blown away. The burrata pizza was exceptional and the truffle fries with the delicious dip was amazing. It's also very peaceful inside. The staff are very kind and attentive.

Yelp
Came here on a Thanksgiving for dinner and the interior decorations is so pretty! We ordered La Bella Salad, Calamari, truffle fries, and broccolini as appetizers. The broccolini surprised all of us - super tender and the garlic flavor is so fragrant! The portions are great for sharing! For entrees, we each ordered a pasta / ravioli and ordered the Margherita pinsa to share. I ordered the Casarecce pasta (bone marrow pasta with wild mushrooms) and it was delicious! Wish the bone marrow had more marrow inside and would be nice if it's creamier but overall a very solid dish! Although it is slightly on the saltier side, it pairs well with the La Bella salad we ordered. We rounded out our dinner with pecan pie (Thanksgiving special) and the bread pudding. Both are delicious! The bread pudding is warm and the texture is just right - not too dense and not too airy! Service is really good as well! Definitely check it out if you are in the area!

Yelp
Overall it's pretty good. They're a bit slow given there wasn't anyone besides us in the restaurant but staff is friendly. I wish they'd work on presentation for happy hour because the pizza was not impressive. The taste was okay, but didn't taste the truffle oil. Broccolini was good, cooked perfectly. The pastas were both amazing and basically saved the meal. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and good for families; there's ample parking on the street. Although we didn't get dessert, they seemed to be pretty authentic Italian items, maybe next time!

Yelp
Went there with my girls we had great time and the food was amazing ! went back with my husband , hair on utensil napkin ! ordered Caesar salad with chicken ! The chicken tasted and smelled so bad ! I told the waiter the chicken tasted bad and it smelled ! He didn't believe me ! He actually tried the chicken from my plate. Then agreed that the chicken was bad . didn't offer to remake chicken ! Asked for the check didn't eat my food , payed and left the restaurant. terrible customer service.

Yelp
First time here! I would definitely come back! I ordered the Polipo for an appetizer and was cooked to perfection! I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was delicious! Service was a 10/10! The restaurant is very cozy and I love the Christmas decorations!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was blah , we waited for our waiter ( I believe she was the owner) to chat with her friends/ relatives at the next table for a while then she got my order wrong. She was giving more attention to people who are Asian or from that area. Won't be coming back for sure.

Yelp
Fabulous as always! We went for my birthday party of 12 at 5 pm and everything was excellent! Our server Maya was outstanding and friendly! Our food came out timely and delicious! Bread pudding dessert was unbelievable! Thank you to the chef as well! Amazing as always!

Yelp
Great food, beautiful decorations and spectacular service. Our waitress was sweet and continuously checked on us. I ordered ravioli and it was covered in a wonderful sauce. I would like to return to try their other dishes!
google avatar

Cathleen H.

Yelp
The casarecce is so good with the bone marrow and mushrooms but it is a bit salty. Meanwhile the pasta is creamy with mushrooms which my personal favorite . I would definitely come back to try other dishes tho. Our waiter was patient and quick in our orders. The ambience of the restaurant was charming and elegant and would make a good birthday dinner or date night.

Yelp
What an amazing restaurant!!! The food is exceptional! The service is outstanding! Belle is so kind and so accommodating. Incredible! We hosted a dinner for 20 there last Thursday evening. We could not have found better food and service. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Everyone loved the food, and we had a tough crowd to please! The pasta dishes were so delicious! The rib eye was cooked to perfection, and the salmon rissoto just melted in our mouth. The salad was exceptional, and pizzas were amazing. Needless to say, we ate a lot of food and drank excellent wines. We were there for hours. Highly recommend this gem! We are headed back soon from Orange County. Well worth the trip for those driving further. Mange Bene!!

Yelp
I visited La Bella Pinseria Romana for a takeout order but I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the food & customer service. The pappardelle didn't have any sauce, was underseasoned and the noodles overcooked with a bubbly texture. Not sure what happened here but I was disappointed with the lack of flavor. What makes matters worse, the service was equally disappointing. Despite calling in my order and being informed it would be ready in 25 minutes, I waited over an hour at the restaurant while continuously waiting for updates. I was almost given the wrong pizza until I told the front staff that this wasn't my order. I understand things can take longer if the restaurant is really busy, but there were still lots of open seating. Overall, my experience at La Bella Pinseria Romana was a bit of a letdown. While I understand that mishaps can occur in any establishment I left feeling dissatisfied and discouraged to come back.

Yelp
We came in on a saturday afternoon, around 2:00 PM, we were greeted and seated by the only girl working at that hour, We order and everything seemed to be ok, when we odered the Mussels appetizer and it was amazing, entrees, we ordered the short Rib Pappardelle, and the Proscuitto Burrata pizza. The Pappardelle was ok, the meat was a bit dry but the sauce was good and th epasta was cooked properly. The Pizza was one the best I've had. When we ordered Entrees we ordered a glas of Sparkling Wine for my wife, when the galss of bubbly was dropped off, thats when we saw our waittress last, she just dissapppeard, not only on us, also on the rest of the staff. at that time theres was now an other waittress on duty and had a few tables opf her own. I asked the other waittress to check the prosecco because it was flat and warm, it seems we got just regular chardonnay and to top it off it was room temperature. The waittress on duty straight up told me that no one knew what had happened to the other waitress, that she thins she went home, but that she was never told to take care of us. I found it very odd and rude. There was no manager around to talk to, at this point we had been waiting for a togo box and the check for at least 30 minutes. We finally got the check, paied and left. The other waitress seem very irritaded that I was asking to get boxes and my check, I understand she was busy, but at the end of the day the staff should be looking out for all costuimers not only the one in their section, if youre receivng an hourly wage, you are obligated to look out after the restaurants best interest. I probably give them an other chance if im in the area, because like I said their food is great. Cheers!

Yelp
Thank you so much for the excellent service and the great food. The set up for the birthday celebration that we reserved on a rainy Sunday is well accommodated. We all love the food and everything here. We will surely come back! This place is a hidden gem, highly recommended to everyone!

Kimberlee B.

Yelp
What a treat! Randomly chose this place and it was a hit! The meatballs were the "best ever" according to my dining companion. I had the excellent funghi misti pizza (maitake, shitake, crimini, micro greens, mozzarella, fontina, grana padano, truffle oil) on an incredibly light crust with the best combination of crunch and chew. Highly recommend the broccolini starter. (Blistered broccolini, garlic, crushed red pepper, olive oil) They ran out before my order came, but our server brought me a taster. I would have happily devoured an entire plate. There were so many things on the menu that sounded delicious. While stuffed, we couldn't resist sharing a lovely creme brulee. Attentive service, quality ingredients, nice atmosphere. (Side note, the pizza leftovers were just as good reheated in the toaster oven the next day)

Richard W.

Yelp
The food, atmosphere and owner were all amazing but some of the waitresses need to work on their attitude and learn patience.

Yelp
The food was very good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I would come back again.

Yelp
Every time, we've been here...and it's been quite a few times; we've loved everything we're ordered. The food's excellent, along with the service and presentation. We also like the decor of the restaurant as well. It's just a great spot, serving up great food, and large portions.

Yelp
EDIT: Got a message from owners within minutes of posting review below. Apparently, it was an unusual night, with two cooks not showing up for work with no heads up. I appreciate owners reaching out, and I promised we'd give them another try, next time we're nearby. === Went there for the first time today, on a whim, after spending the day at the LA Zoo. Our 4-year-old wanted pizza, and the adults wanted good grown-up food, and this place seemed to fit the bill. Indeed, it's a beautiful place, with great ambiance, and kid friendly. The waiter who greeted and served us was great. And the food was great! My kid had the pepperoni pizza, my wife the Carbonara, and I the Bone Marrow pasta. And we split the mussels appetizer, which was absolutely delicious! However, and why this review has 3 stars and not 5: I don't know if it was just tonight or if it's always, but the kitchen was EXTREMELY slow. The place wasn't even crowded, especially not at 5pm when we arrived (hungry). And yet, between the time we ordered our entrees and the time they arrived, it was a good hour (!!). Including my 4-year-old's pizza. Even though we'd clearly said to send whatever was ready out first, and not wait for the entire ticket. By the time the food arrived, we were starving and ready to go. And just swallowed our food as quickly as possible, not enjoying it as much as we should, or as the food deserved. If this is a constant issue, then it's a big problem and something to truly consider before visiting. If this was a one-time thing, there should've been better communication - someone to give us a heads up of the delay, or explain what was going on. Or someone to help better expedite the plates. And a great idea would've been to maybe offer a small salad, or bread, or cheap champagne, or anything really that would be quick to assemble and not require an oven (and not expensive), while guests waited, to keep them distracted and fed. Instead, I caught myself looking at the kitchen of the waiter often, without realizing I was doing so. The waiter did notice it a few times, but did nothing - and I don't blame THEM for it, as it wouldn't have been their decision, but the manager's. And yet, despite the terrible kitchen issues, I have no idea who the manager is, as they never came to say hi. Will I be back? I'm not totally sure. The food was fantastic, but the incredible delay in getting it out - I'm not sure I can survive it twice.

Yelp
I had family visiting town and took them to lunch here. The restaurant looked busy but the hostess sat us quickly in the patio. Unfortunately being in the patio meant being neglected. It took more than 45 minutes to have our orders taken. I repeatedly had to go inside to ask where our waiter was. At a certain point we even offered to pour our own waters since we were sitting outside during a hot day without any drinks for 45 minutes. To be honest, we should have left without ordering but my family was tired and hungry from traveling. We ordered a bottle of wine and they brought out glasses, but left us again for another 20 minutes. Honestly, drinks should be the quickest thing to do. We again offered to grab the bottle of wine ourselves to serve -- we understood the restaurant was understaffed. It took another 30-40 minutes for our food to arrive, staggering one by one. It was pure chaos at my table with my niece and nephews crying from being hungry. If the restaurant was behind and understaffed, they shouldn't have sat us down to begin with. They continuously left us in the dark on the wait times. I wish they were honest so I could have had a better lunch experience with my family elsewhere. This was the worst dining experience I've ever had in my life. All in all, management and service needs work. Their food is good but not worth how poor their service has gotten. Visit this restaurant at your own risk. -- UPDATE -- The restaurant reached out to me after reading my review and offered a refund. I was very surprised and am glad they reached out to help fix the situation. I truly hope they work out their staffing and service issues because their food and wine selection is good. I spoke very highly of them to my family because I did have a great experience before. I will definitely come back to give the restaurant another try.

Yelp
I went to a B-day bash last night and was not too impressed. My friends had rented out the whole place. The location has no parking; so you need to find somewhere on Central Ave. to park. The venue itself was also not too special; an average banquet hall at best. There were about 10 tables arranged with about 10 guests for each. 100 guests is probably the max capacity, leaving you with 12' by 12' area for dancing. The servers were nice but they were over their heads. They forgot our order and had to take it again They forgot to bring us dessert and coffee. We had to remind them again 45 minutes later. We had to constantly remind them that we needed cream for the coffee or utensils for the desserts. They brought us ice cream with no spoons; imagine that. Maybe they are much better in their restaurant setting. As far as food - the Calamari batter was burnt but luckily the calamari was not overcooked. Salads were at room temperature. The Caesar was wilty. I did not try the bruschetta. It was a fixed menu with your choice for the main entrée. I chose the branzino which came with a tablespoon of some puree spread thinly on the plate with two fillets of the fish on top. It also featured 5 tiny (dime-size) braised tomatoes. It needed more veggies. The fish was pan-fried with practically no seasoning. The best thing I had was a small slice of their mushroom pizza that they brought out as part of the 1st course. It was flavorful and perfect. I might one day order that pizza for takeout but I don't plan to return anytime soon. Overall Rating Location and Venue B- Parking C+ Service C+ (Nice servers but over their heads) Food B- Overall C+

Yelp
Excellent service. Our server Maya warmly greeted us and saw to our every need. Food was huge portions. Tasty. I loved how you can hear the chef making your dish. We will be back. Thanks to everyone there. It was good.

Yelp
We had an incredible experience hosting a private party here! Belle, one of the owners, was absolutely lovely and so accommodating. The food was outstanding--delicious, beautifully presented, and perfect for our group (we were so hungry that we forgot to take pictures of the food lol!). Our favorite dishes were the CASARECCE (what a beautiful presentation with the bone marrow, wasn't our first choice as a bit outside of our comfort zone but Belle asked us to try it and it was phenomenal), RIGATONI AMATRICIANA (but with pink sauce & and spicy Calabrian Chili - get extra on the side!), SUPPLI LA TARTUFO (not normally on their menu but made special for us) and FUNGHI MISTI pizza (best mushroom pizza I've ever had!). The staff was not only attentive but also very so friendly and sweet, even Belle helped her staff too, handling all of our requests with ease. They truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that our guests were happy. The combination of excellent food, top-notch service, and warm hospitality made the event unforgettable. I highly recommend La Bella Pinseria Romana for any special occasion or private event!

Yelp
This is the worst place to dine in Glendale!! We've tried this place a few times and the service gets worse every visit. The last visit really was one of the worst dinning experiences I've ever had. We were sat and after placing our order we were told many things we ordered were not available. So we ordered what we could and waited.....and waited... 45 minutes later we got 3 of 4 drinks ordered, no utensils , napkins or plates. Finally 1 hour later 1 of 4 plates arrived. Then we had to wait another hour for our other food. But only 2 plates came (1 still missing) finally fed up I went to ask a lady working there where our food was and she tells me "oh we don't have that today" !!! What ??!!!?! I asked for our check because I couldn't wait to get out of there but that also took more waiting. I will not be coming back and will not let anyone I know go there.

Yelp
Perfect dining experience at La Bella! So happy we found this wondeful Italian restaurant at the last hour and La Belle exceeded all of our expectations. After a visitation and viewing service at Forest Lawn at 7pm, 16 of us decided to have dinner together. A last minute decision and we were having trouble finding a restaurant that can accommodate us without having to wait over 1hour.... until we phoned La Bella! The gentleman kindly indicated that he can accommodate us with 2 tables of 8, and that the tables will be ready by our time or arrival in 15 mins. Yay and THUMBS UP! Upon arrival and coming to La Bella for the first time, we were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant's nice, clean & modern decor, it's roominess, and the clean open kitchen (we always love to see open kitchens at restaurants). Our tables were ready and fully set upon arrival -- Thank you La Bella!! The 16 of us orders a variety of dishes... from drinks to appetizers, salads to pasta, meat plates to desserts... All dishes were excellent and cooked with perfect flavors. My favorite: Caesar Salad, Bone Marrow pasta dish, and their tomato salad... YUM! I especially appreciate the friendly, fast and efficient service . The waiter was thorough during our entire dinner and never missed a beat. Great food, wondeful service, and a super nice restaurant. we will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
I just had my daughter's baptism reception there yesterday. This place is the absolute best Italian food in the Glendale area! The service was amazing. They were quick to attend to our needs and was very knowledgeable about the menu! We had a huge reservation for 50+ guests and we ordered a pre-set family style menu that included apps like Bruschetta, Black Mussels (absolute must!) , Calamari, La Bella Salad, and Prawns (absolute must). We ordered the Funghi Misti as a pizza option and it was delicious! For our Pasta we had the Fettucine Alfredo, Short Rib Pappardelle, and Sea Food Pasta!! All amazing! Lastly we had Chicken Marsala and Salmon Pesto to finish out our dinner! We were all so stuffed and satisfied! Lots of take home for our guests which they were so excited for! The Owner, Bell, is wonderful and such a pleasure to work with! Would definitely be back here not just for special events, but every weekend perhaps!! HIGHY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE IN TOWN!!

Yelp
Friendly service and delicious food. I originally phoned in a reservation but due to traffic had to switch to a pickup order which the employee kindly accommodated and even had the kitchen hold on making our food a bit so it would be fresh when we arrived. The restaurant is clean, bright, and tastefully decorated. We ordered the casarecce (bone marrow pasta) and pappardelle, both of which are heavier pastas due to the richness of the sauces, and were amazing. The pasta is fresh and tender and sauces are flavorful. The pappardelle pasta belts have a great unique bumpy texture that catch more sauce, and the amount of tender short rib is delightfully ample. The bone marrow - "the butter of the gods"- is rich and has a great presentation, though with more breadcrumbs than i would like. The wild mushrooms help to add texture. We also ordered the margherita pinsa, which was like a Naples style flatbread pizza and a nice flavor variation to the rich pastas (although plain bread would be a better complement). Getting the pinsa at happy hour (3-6pm I believe) gives you (what looks like) half a pinsa for half the price, good if you don't want the whole thing. Parking is all street, I think. We found parking pretty easily on a weekday evening. I would come back to try the spaghetti and meatballs and fettuccine alfredo.

Yelp
Good pizza, but small portions. Had ordered this for lunch. One of the better pizza joints in Glendale. Would recommend!

Yelp
Was craving carbonara and this place is close to my apt and not super expensive compared to other authentic Italian places nearby. I didn't even know this was here. It has good romantic vibes and our server Francisco was fantastic and very helpful with both the food and wine menu. Will definitely come back to try more of their food.

Yelp
Ordered take-out Sunday evening, and to my surprise the reviews are actually right. This place has good food, perfectly seasoned. Classic recipes done right. We will be eating here a lot more.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner celebration with a group of 13 people. I made sure to make a reservation in advance due to our party size and I was glad they were able to accommodate! Pretty interior and setup. I liked the concept of being able to see the chefs cooking while being out in the open. Why the 2 star rating? Service was incredibly slow and unorganized. Since I had made a reservation in advanced (around a week or more ago), I was hoping they would be better prepared. However, it took almost over an hour for our food to come. And even when it did come, it would come in batches before we would have to wait another 20-30 minutes more for the others. People were eating at different rates and some finished way before others got their food. One of my friends who received his food in the last batch, had his order messed up as well. He ordered a chicken fettuccine alfredo but when it came, there was no chicken! We told the waiter right away and had to wait an additional 15+ min for a side order of chicken. By the time it came, his dish was no longer hot. On top of that, we got our appetizers during the middle of our meals when it was supposed to come before the main course. Do not get me wrong, food was great and the server was very nice and apologetic but there was a lack of preparation and organization. I felt bad for my guests who had to wait so long for their food. It also was not a crowded restaurant so I could not justify the slow service. Based on other reviews that I've been reading, this is an area where the restaurant should work on. Maybe this would have been a different experience if it was for a party of 2 only. So please reconsider if you are planning to host a large party.
