Great little Italian restaurant two blocks from the CIBC theater. Perfect spot for pre-show dinner. The ambience is cozy & warm and service was outstanding. We had the Caesar salad salad, which was very good and mushroom pizza with white sauce was fantastic! Cocktails were excellent as well. La Bella Trattoria is in the Kimpton Grey Hotel with a street side entrance. They do excellent job servicing theater goers/locals as well as the tourists. We’ll definitely be back!

This review reflects the exceptional commitment this restaurant demonstrates in creating memorable experiences. Their attention to detail was evident from the moment we made our reservation, during which we included a small note indicating that the dinner was for our engagement. Upon arrival we were seated promptly, and Marcus provided exemplary service throughout the evening. He offered thoughtful accommodations, including a serving of pesto to accompany our bread appetizer, which added a refined touch to the start of our meal. The fig plum prosciutto pizza was outstanding and generously portioned, easily shared between the two of us. As a final gesture, we were presented with complimentary champagne and chocolate cake, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed and deeply appreciated. Although we were simply guests, the staff made us feel truly celebrated on our engagement day. The experience was exceptional in every respect.

You need to go here if you're ever in Chicago. Amazing food. The calamari was excellent, perfectly cooked, not over done. Lamb chops were excellent, penne pasta was very spicy but also flavorful, everything out group had was excellent. Val the server was attentive and entertaining without being overbearing. 10/10 recommend.

What a place, what a team! Our party of six, on vacation in Chicago, wanted Italian food. We picked La Bella Trattoria but had trouble booking a reservation for six. We then booked two reservations for groups of three. When we arrived we explained to the host our desire to combine our groups. The manager Guy stepped in to take charge and said he would find us space. We were quickly seated at a large table near the kitchen. We had a great view of the action in the kitchen. Our server, Roberto, took great care of us. Water, drinks, our orders, everything. Roberto suggested we get a bottle of wine to save money because if the number of glasses we were getting. He also brought us an order of meatballs, on the house, while we decided on our food. Roberto also had the kitchen make a side salad for me even though it was not on the menu. The food was wonderful. Portion sizes were perfectly sized. And oh so very tasty. We all enjoyed our entrees and our deserts. From spaghetti and meatballs, penne arrabbiata, ravioli with steak, a meatball sandwich, chicken Alfredo, lemoncillo cake, cannolis, sorbet to, and dessert wine. From top to bottom we were taken care of like family. I plan on coming again the next time I am in Chicago. Thank you.

Went here on Tuesday for my birthday dinner. The food was really good especially the crispy ravioli. I got coffee because it was so cold out and it was perfect. My brother also got an espresso martini and said it was amazing. Had their tiramisu for desert and it was perfect. A bit pricey but worth it.

We enjoyed breakfast here. The steak and eggs are excellent. The breakfast potatoes are one of their specialities. They smash small potatoes and fry them until crispy. The breakfast sandwich is huge. Everything was delicious.

Google
Unbelievably good experience at La Bella Trattoria! Service from all staff was amazing, they made us feel so welcome, and Paula our server - she was fantastic! So attentive and helpful. Food was amazing which can be clearly seen from some of the pictures here. Would definitely come back here for great service, good vibe, and amazing Italian food! The fig jam & prosciutto pizza.. wow 🤩🤩🤩

We started with a Caesar salad and the garlic bread and were happy with the presentation and flavor. For a main meal, the steak sandwhich is a must. My husband ordered it medium-rare, and it surpassed our expectations. It is definitely worth the price. I ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo, which was good. But after taking a bite of the steak sandwich and perfectly crispy Tuscan fries, the flavor did not compare. We ordered tiramisu for dessert. The presentation and flavor were also lovely. We weren't aware this was in a hotel at first, but we were thoroughly impressed and plan to return to try other dishes. Great service and ambience.

Yelp
4 Stars for a solid breakfast, attached to The Gray (Kimpton Hotel), with really friendly service. Note: We were there for a late Saturday brunch, but saw some folks come in looking for pizza and they were told that lunch options wouldn't be available until after 2pm that day. It's not noted on the website (lunch only available after 2pm on Saturdays), so worth mentioning! The space is beautiful and clearly has recently been renovated. There seemed to be a semi-private dining area encased in glass walls, but otherwise there were tables and booths and an attractive bar. We got the breakfast sandwich, which comes on brioche bun, filled with scrambled eggs, american cheese, arugula, and a chicken sausage patty. It came with breakfast potatoes (doesn't mention it on the menu, so happy surprise!) and they were SO GOOD. Crispy exterior, well seasoned, YUM. I got some poached eggs and wheat toast on the side and both were solid. We also got oat milk cappuccinos and it was good. Overall, a simple and flavorful quick breakfast.

Yelp
Came at around 5 pm on a weekday and was seated pretty quickly. Service in general was pretty quick but the dishes were a bit plain in taste. This is a chill spot to visit if you have an itch for Italian but i wouldn't plan an anniversary or date here for that reason. Attitudes from servers were also pretty mixed.

Yelp
Cute spot inside Kimpton Grey hotel downtown. Modern clean interior, kind staff, great for a weekday business lunch! Food was good and nice portions.

Yelp
It was fine, pretty standard but out of orange Juice, out of soup, and they don't do wood fired pizzas on the brunch menu.

Yelp
My best friend and I came here for happy hour and got peach martinis for a great price! They were delicious at the atmosphere is great. We had Paola as our waitress and she was so nice and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, and the bartender Roberto was awesome. He took care of our group of 6 like a rockstar. Thank you for everything Roberto!

Yelp
Great Spot for a wonderful meal. We sat at the bar and Roberto was fantastic. Great recommendations for a starter and dinner. We had the calamari for a starter with a nice Italian White wine- Blange. It had some effervescence to it. The Chicken Parm was delicious and the penne arrabbiata was great with a nice heat to it. Go say Hello to Roberto!
