A Weekend Guide to the Texas Hill Country’s Wine Road 290 | Eater Austin

"A charming European-style wine bar and market just off Fredericksburg’s main strip that specializes in beautifully composed cheese and charcuterie boards and a curated selection of small-production wines. Guests can relax on the patio or pick up meats, cheeses, and picnic provisions to enjoy elsewhere in the Hill Country; the shop is open all day for snacks, lunch, or later bites." - Veronica Meewes

Super cute and quaint wine bar in Fredericksburg! We were out wandering the town and happened upon this place. When we came, a Girl Scout booth was set up inside and let me just say, that’s a genius move. Cookies and drinks are divine together! Kudos to her. Hopefully we get to visit again on our next trip!

As a wine bar, La Bergerie is an island of international flavor. The menu is simple with a selection of wines from around the world and a few of the best from Texas. The servers know what they like and are willing to recommend what they think you may enjoy depending on what you ask for. This is not a restaurant, but a place to come and have something simple and light while you while you come out of the heat. A welcome taste in Fredericksburg. Across from the Japanese Friendship Garden and and Pacific War museum, it’s location off the Main Street gives it a nice quiet atmosphere to relax and enjoy.

Small, boutique wine shop that also offers incredible charcuterie boards and small plates of well executed food. It's our favorite place to source wines that you can't find at your local grocer or liquor store. TIP!!! Check out their offerings of Sparkling wine & Champagne! They've got some gems at really affordable prices. The patio out back is perfect on a spring or summer evening.

Pretty nice little provision shop (and I use the term provision very loosely) that has a nice clean minimal design inside that boasts a great selection of wine and a few beers. They offer house made charcuterie plates and wines. We ordered a large plate that has excellent salami and an andouille that had a wonderful balance of flavors. I thought the wines by the glass were a bit precious for the size of the pour, but the pleasant environment really makes for a great evening.

I have been coming here since they first opened in 2019, but it has really gone down hill in the last year. They served me the worst charcuterie board I have ever had, the presentation and pairing was just terrible. I also bought a bottle for the table but the waitstaff did not come back to refill my glass, or to even check on me a single time. At the end I had to get up and find her so I could pay and leave (still left her a 20% tip despite not waiting on my table at all). I won't be recommending this place to anyone ever again, and I also won't be back! P.S. please bring back the marinated marcona almonds, and balsamic onions since its the only redeeming quality to your cheese and meat boards... and maybe add a mirror in the bathroom

This place is like the Disney Land of adulthood. The food is super well thought out and delectable. The wine is truly to savor, collect and remember. The people who pour their passion into making this place happen are a blessing. Thank you & will come running back on our next visit.

Cute place for wine and cheese. No Texas wines and cheese had the taste of refrigerator and no napkins given. Otherwise, the experience was pleasant with good customer service allowing us to sample different wines before commiting to a glass. The back patio is calm and beautiful.

Outstanding selection of unique wines. The meats are cured on site and the various chutneys exquisitely crafted. La Bergerie is by far one of the best tasting rooms in Fredericksburg.
