La Boheme Review - West Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"For years, La Boheme was a quiet, neighborhood standby in West Hollywood, but thanks to a massive new patio in their adjacent parking lot, this French spot has transformed into a boozy brunch powerhouse. Brunch runs Saturday and Sundays from 11:30am-4pm with $23 bottomless mimosas, but they also have specials through the week like daily Happy Hour with $7 glasses of wine and “Community Night” on Mondays, where locals get one round of drinks on the house." - Brant Cox

One of the nicest stores in Santa Fe. I highly recommend taking time to go to La Boheme. The owner is an exceptionally nice person who really helps you find something special. There are so many options, you will not find a store like this in most American cities it's a one-off. The art work is superb and if you want a higher end present this is the store to go to. I would go as far as saying there are highly collectable pieces here that will one day be invaluable.

Google
A really cute shop in Santa Fe that has beautiful clothing, jewelry and tons of great gift options. The staff is incredibly nice, knowledgeable and helpful, not only with their merchandise, but with the rich history of the building. I can't reccomend this place enough if you are visiting or living in the area.

Margaret has an amazing eye and always offers such unique pieces in her shop on Canton Rd! It’s a must see if visiting Santa Fe!

This is a gorgeous store with an incredibly sweet and helpful owner. She was so kind, thoughtful in all details (she told me about her cleaning procedures to keep her merchandise safe - wow - tons of work!) She gave me a gift with purchase, she was sharing chocolate and sparkling water, and I just had such an incredible experience here.

Google
La Boheme is such a magical little place that belongs to a wonderful shopkeeper. There is nothing but intention and love in this store. La Boheme has their own small line of undergarments such as bras, bloomers and slip skirts all made in the most lovely of lovely prints. Highly recommend this shop <3

I own a store in Albuquerque and if I had ever treated a customer the way I was treated in this store, I would be out of business. We entered the store at 10:53, the owner rushed to the door and told us that she was not opened yet, we were already inside the store but she shuffled us out. SHE OPENS AT 11:00. We walked to a couple of other stores and then tried to get in at 11:00 through 11:08. She was inside at the counter, you could see her and she knew we were there but she would not open the door. I tried calling her just to be told she needed more time to open. Won't go back and from some other reviews on Google and Yelp, looks like a few other people feel the same.

Margaret is a fun shop owner, my wife and I always like to pop in and see her new finds. We wish Canyon Road had more stores like La boheme !

Yelp
Beautiful, delicate items. The owner is super nice and very passionate about her craft. A must-visit.

Yelp
Rudest salesperson ever. Visited with three friends and we were ready to shop. I'm shocked at how rude she was and as we left she stood at the door and watched us walk away with a snarky grin on her face.

Yelp
We happily went in this shop and noticed a small book of illustrations that we wanted to purchase. The shopkeeper was obviously busy with someone else, so we put the book back, planning to return after lunch, but as we were halfway out the door, she insinuated that we were stealing the book. Rude. I was insulted. Would never go back.

Yelp
Yesterday, my partner and I drove up from Placitas to go shopping here after it was recommended to us. We walked in through the door, behind two other women, and the sales person became flustered and said "I'm at my capacity now, ugh but I guess you can come in". She created a very unwelcoming space that made us feel we were bothering her. A polite gesture would be to say something along the lines of "I'm so sorry we're at capacity right now, and would be happy to help you both once our customers are finished up." We turned around and left, her loss as we were prepared to spend $$$. Exhausted by the rudeness in Santa Fe these days....

Yelp
Margaret has a particularly great eye for colour and texture. Returning to her store each year when we visit is something I so look forward to. I live in a large city with very good shopping but La Boheme is very special indeed, unpretentious and discrete but very very stylish.

Yelp
I love this store and it's owner Margaret! One of my first stops every time I am in Santa Fe. She carries some great lines that are usually hard to find...Dosa, Auntie Oh, Mata, Garza Marfa etc and great hats from Lola in Brooklyn. Amazingly curated--you'll want it all!

Yelp
My wife loves everything from this store so it is my one stop shop for her birthday, Christmas, anniversary and when I just feel like seeing her smile. The owner is totally helpful and I really like the low key vibe she has going in her store. It is on Canyon Road which is totally beautiful and the Tea House is nearby and a great place for lunch. My most recent purchase was some indigo pillows, I'll try attaching a photo.

Yelp
Great store filled with unique women's apparel and accessories on Canyon Road. My wife loves the owners style picking things that you just won't find in other shops making this a true specialty boutique. A "must" visit while in Santa Fe

Yelp
Eeek. This shop is full of beautiful clothing and textiles, unfortunately the owner is super rude and acted so bizarre. I wanted to buy a pair of earrings that were a pretty hefty price $350, but decided against it because she was so awful.

Yelp
Crazy lady who owns this store. We opened her door st 7 minutes to 11 am, she rushes over and grabs the door and says we don't open until 11. WHAT?? So we walk around until 11 am, went back, waited outside for 10 minutes at least, would not open the door. Had to catch the train back to Albuqueque. Spent thousands of dollars in Santa fe during Indian market on jewelry and clothing. I guess she doesn't need sales. Extremely poor behavior for a shop owner.

Yelp
Drove all the way from Albuquerque and they were closed although this information was not available anywhere. In fact, their Instagram was touting their being reopened. The woman who was IN THE STORE completely dismissed me and suggested that I ought to drive back the hour from Albuquerque the next day. I thought that small businesses were struggling but I guess not this one.

Yelp
This lady is a bit of a whack job. Wanted to go in her store today, Walked through the door at 10:52 and she rushed out from the back and told her she doesn't open until 11 o'clock. I may just leave and lock the door behind h walked through the door at 10:52 and she rushed out from the back and told her she doesn't open until 11 o'clock. I may just leave and lock the door behind us. We Went to a couple of more stores and went back in at 11:05 she still had not opened her store Even though she knew we were standing outside, she would not open the door. I knocked on the door and she never came to the door. I have no idea what her issues are I called the store and she told me that she needed a few more minutes. Consequently we left and probably will never go back.

Yelp
I really liked what I saw through the window (simple,Bohemian clothes in earth tones - some that appeared to be organic shibori linen, my fave), but I had to leave almost immediately. The owner/shopkeeper, a slender lady in her late 40's or so, let out a HUGE audible sigh, got up from her seat, and began nervously tapping on her table, watching my every move as I took a couple of steps towards the rack of clothes hanging beautifully on the east wall (closest to the Brigitte Brüggemann studio next door), begging to be browsed/adored. Maybe she's a naturally anxious, jumpy person, but I personally felt racially typecast, and the unwelcome feeling was enough to have me almost run out the door. This marked the low point of very first trip to Santa Fe, which was otherwise stupendous.

Yelp
The rudest shop keeper I've ever met. And I live in New York! Said hello and she said "should I know you or something." in her 40's, slender. Should really train your employees in a nice store like this.

Yelp
STAY AWAY! I was in today at 12:45pm for all of two minutes and had, without a doubt, the worst retail experience of my life. The employee/possibly owner was extremely rude, and ugly (both in manner and form). My wife and I went into the store, were courteous and correct, and yet on the way out were berated by the clerk because evidently my wife was "drenched in cologne". The clerk/owner? is deeply disturbed, and as a long time resident of Santa Fe who tends to enjoy the "colorful" people of the City Different, I am fine with unusual types. But... I am genuinely concerned that the person working at La Boheme is so obviously insane that she is potentially dangerous to herself and any unlucky person who is near her when she finally goes postal. There are just too many places in Santa Fe to buy the items La Boheme sells to deal with a rude psycho. p.s. my wife had on "Jo Malone" in a normal amount applied a few hours earlier. But again, it's not about that.

Manon B.

Yelp
I've visited this little boutique twice during my last stay in Santa Fe during the Folk Art Market. I bought 4 pieces of clothes that i enjoy since. I receive many compliments. The owner is kind and she made great suggestions. I connected with her easely. If you like bohemian looks it is the place to go. As i was reading the negatice comments for some who visited this store i must say i was supprised. But, as a psychologist i know there is always interpretation and projections in any interpersonal interactions. If you like the boho style, please go and enjoy yourself. I look forward to my next visit.

Elena D.

Yelp
Nice shop but very unpleasant owner. I would not shop here again because my experience with her was unnecessarily rude. I suggest she hire someone else as the front-room presence as she is neither kind nor friendly to her customers.

Shannon J.

Yelp
The "service" and "professionalism" of the owner (Margaret) is directly inverse of the good quality of the inventory. I've been in a couple times where she's not so much as acknowledged my presence. Happened to my hubby as well when he stopped in to look for a gift. After being condescended my last visit was the final straw. While you'll find nice things, you won't find nice people so it's not worth it. I will never go back and refuse to give my business to a shopkeeper so disrespectful.

Yelp
Great shop on Canyon Road with cool women's clothing, jewelry, bags, baskets, etc. A nice respite from looking at all the artwork. Owner is friendly and very helpful. Can't wait to return

Yelp
This has become one of my fave shops in Santa Fe! The owner was super sweet and helpful! Def check them out.

Yelp
A carefully and very tastefully edited store. Beautiful clothing, texiles, unusual ethnographica, and magnificent antique Native American and Latin American jewelry. The owner is kind and very knowledgeable about everything there. La Boheme is on my short list of places to recommend to Santa Fe friends and visitors, alike.
