Beautiful room with patio, quiet, lovely restaurant in striking distance to lavendar fields in Valensole and even Moustiers. Town itself not much to see/offer but giant grocery/hardware store (Auchan Supermarche) 5 min drive up the road to stock up on for water/snacks/fruit/wine/beer/portable steamer etc. for day trips into countryside. ((Sidebar 20 euro for steamer with Euro plug for future trips with linen shirts !!!...but no need to take on countryside tour. )Didn't use pool but looked amazing. Did garden walk where they grow fresh ingredients for Michelin restaurant which was excellent. Nice Gastropub on premises with excellent food (...to my wife's request for bunless burger/substitution, curt waiter emphatically says" Non!"...fast forward 20mins later, out comes (bunless burger. Lovely pizza place also very near premises. ( do need reservations a day or 2 in advance for all restaurants ). Saw mammatus clouds ( seems to occur near Valensole...Google it). Very little info from front desk but found very accurate website (thanks lelongweekend.com!!! ) with GPS coordinates as to where to go for best Lavendar fields. Only other criticism... they should warn you in advance, that after you sleep, they close the outer shutters on your windows making your room pitch black well beyond sunrise and if you don't know that, the next morning you can break them in your escape attempt to open things. (Sorry! )Overall, a very positive experience, would highly recommend!

Beautiful old building with very friendly service. Impressive tasting menu (we tasted vegetable one). Big very nice and not too busy pool. A very nice enclave!

We spent a night here whilst on a roadtrip driving the Route Napoléon from Grenoble to Cannes. The hotel is very conveniently located just off the main road (but without any road noise) and oozes charm and character. We had a beautiful room facing the garden. It was spacious and comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The furnishings including the bed were all very comfortable and we slept extremely well. Service was impeccable and attentive, the lady at reception was very friendly and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Plenty of small details made this a classy experience, like the handwritten card from the owner and the sweets and tea left in the room in the evening. I had a lovely dip in the gorgeous pool and soaked up the autumn sunshine on one of the comfortable loungers. I also got a nice improvised tour of the interesting building by one of the staff. A perfect halt for anyone driving the Route Napoléon in a classic car as it offers safe off-street parking that is locked by code after 22.00. A small suggestion for improvement: the breakfast could be improved to make it better value at 27 euros per person, such as offering fresh orange juice and perhaps poached eggs. This is a detail, overall a delightful stay and thanks again to the wonderful staff and in particular the lady at reception.

Great place to stay travelling north in France. Small village. Lovely rooms. Choice of restaurants and good breakfast. Pretty pool in gardens

Room was dated and poor shower. Drinks service in the outside areas was poor. The hotel could be so much better with a tiny amount of effort.

Excellent dinner and breakfast, outstanding friendliness of the owner and the complete team, very nice room - all perfect.

We have just returned from 2 nights here. Rather a nice spot to be. Good staff, nice rooms, great grounds and pool. 1* dining isn’t really our thing, so the Bistro was great. All in all a v. Nice stay. The patron even came to see ll the guests were looked after at breakfast. Fine place.

Hotel is beautiful, rooms fresh and delightful, restaurant which runs as 1 star Michelin was awful, extremely poor service, food served cold, meat elements poorly butchered, overall very disappointing experience in the restaurant,
