The Best Coffeeshops to Work From in Chicago - Eater Chicago

"This Mexican chain opened its first Chicago location in 2019 (it also has a suburban Berwyn shop). The library-like interiors are filled with books by Latinx authors. It’s a spacious and comfortable interior. The food includes pastries like conchas. Frappes are the specialty of the house." - Naomi Waxman, Ashok Selvam

Mexican Chain La Borra Del Cafe Opens First Chicago Location - Eater Chicago

"A Mexican cafe chain has arrived in Chicago with its first location that gives Division Street in Wicker Park yet another choice for coffee. For now, customers can only order takeout from La Borra Del Cafe — they won’t be able to linger inside the modern space and check out the stacks of books from Latinx authors on the bookcases. The menu includes toasts and a few Mexican pastries like conchas and orejitas, as well as frappes, Mexican hot chocolate, and coffee." - Ashok Selvam

A favorite spot of mine to get work done. It’s inviting with its natural lighting and open seating. I ordered a chai latte with almond milk (a perfect drink for Sunday) and a torta de pollo. It was perfectly toasted, and loved the added toppings. My friend got the pesto flatbread which was a great portion, and perfectly toasted.

Great spot with a zen and relaxing vibe. Plenty of room to sit, relax and work. There's a conference room right at the store front, an inspirational wall and community book sharing. We tried the Mont Blanc and Cafe de Olla and they were both good. The Mont Blanc is iced coffee topped with coconut. The Cafe de Olla was a smokey coffee with cinnamon flavor. Both recommended.

I was honestly looking for a place to finish my term paper at. I found La Borra Cafe online and went straight there. I ordered the La Borra Mocha and it was so yummy. Velvety, chocolatey, and smooth. My boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles and he loved them so much he ordered another. It wasn’t spicy at all but very tasty. I’d say the cheese might have needed to be melted a bit more and it would’ve been amazing. Servers and barista were all very welcoming and so very sweet.

Great new addition to the Wicker Park coffee shop scene! Very friendly staff, delicious Mexican flavors, community book exchange, a group meet space, and fresh bakery. Plenty of room to work/sit after COVID restrictions are over. Highly recommend the Mexican hot chocolate :)

I'm going to say off the bat that I love coffee and over the years I've probably been to over 100 coffee shops. (Local not chains) This place had the best Frappe I've ever had. I got the Cookies & Cream but they had a nice variety of options. And the pastries...oh man. When I saw how the croissants looked I was in. Did. Not. Disappoint. They also have sandwich and toast options. (Avocado toast etc) Very nice place to grab something quick or spend some time and relax. There was even a TV w netflix available which I've never seen before.

Wonderful staff, everyone is so nice and greets you every time you come in. Me and my gf have been coming here most days of the week for the past month to do work and we've yet to find something to complain about. Coffee is great, food is great, they even bring the food to you if you're dining in! My favorites are a spiced brown sugar latte with oatmilk and a ham and cheese croissant. 10/10 music too but not in a super distracting way. Overall great vibes, great service, and great food/drink! Love this place :)
