One of my favorite stumbles I've done in Rome. Beautiful wine, eggplant Parm that was magnificent, anchovy pizza.

Best pasta and pizza in town. Warm service. Cosy atmospher. Lovely venue. You don't want to miss it if you are in Roma!

Wander instead, like a lost poet with a grumbling stomach, into cobblestoned labyrinth of Rome. That’s where you’ll stumble upon La Bottega de Cesare, a place so anti-touristy it might actually judge you for being there. This isn’t your we have 85 things on the menu and none of them are good kind of place. No. Cesar’s got, like, 20 options. Maybe fewer. You either want it or you don’t. Let’s talk about this pizza. I got the one with olives and capers because I believe in strong, salty opinions, and mamma mia, it delivered. The dough? Listen. You think you’ve had good dough? You haven’t. You’ve had bread-flavored regret. This crust is holy. It’s crispy, airy, slightly chewy, and somehow doesn’t sit in your stomach like a rock made of sadness and gluten. It’s not poison like American bread. It’s the kind of bread that loves you back. Every bite tastes like the chef gave up on Michelin stars and decided to win hearts instead. There are no signature cocktails, no QR code menus, and no fake Parmesan. So go. But don’t you dare find it easily. You’re supposed to get lost first.

Perfect lunch. I’ve had many carbonaras and this was my favorite - no scrambled eggs and perfectly seasoned with big chunks of guanciale. Although the tartufo version was not needed. The place itself is small and casual; paper plates and stool seating.

If you’re in Rome and craving top-tier pasta, Bottega Cesare is a hidden gem you can’t miss! 🍝 Tucked away off the tourist paths, this cozy spot (with only about 12 seats) is all about quality over quantity. We had the carbonara and amatriciana, and honestly, the pasta was out of this world – so fresh, perfectly al dente, and well balanced with the sauces. It was our top pick from our trip. The vibe is warm and welcoming, and it’s easy to see why the locals flock here; we were the only non-Italians dining in this intimate venue. Pair your meal with a local wine and you’re in for a treat. 🍷 The service was friendly, though a bit slow at times and it would have been nice for all dishes to come out at once. Highly recommend this charming little spot for anyone looking for a true taste of Rome! 5/5 for food, 3/5 for service.

I'm almost afraid to let the secret out about this little gem. But that would be selfish! We came here on the recommendation of an Italian friend. We're so glad we stopped in! We got the best pasta of our trip and a bottle of very good wine for an incredible price. It's a tiny restaurant with only 12 indoor seats, but it's worth it. The owner is friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious, and it's a great value!

It’s very small place, not very air quality inside. If you want to eat something delicious quickly good place to go. Margherita pizza was very delicious with rich sauce, cheese and bread-like dough. Chicken salad was good too. The service staff wasn’t very attentive and not very polite. I wouldn’t tell it’s a must place to go, but if you come across you enjoy the food.

The best food in all of Rome! We stumbled in here for lunch one day and got some pizzas, not only were they amazing value, they were delicious, fresh and hot. Came back for dinner after having food envy of the pastas coming out and it was our favourite dinner in Rome! The service is great, it feels so local and welcoming, the menu is amazing prizes for the location, and the quality is too good to be true. Absolutely recommend!

We ate here last night and it was a terrific experience. The positano salad was absolutely delicious. The zucchini were blanched and flavored perfectly on a crisp bed of lettuce with a generous portion of flavorful cherry tomatoes and wonderful mozzarella. The picture only shows part of the salad as I only took the photo after eating a lot of it! We also ordered the carbonara and it lived up to its reputation! The gnocchi were delicious as well. I loved the petite size and the tomato sauce got tastier with each bite. Highly recommend! Not for big groups as seating is limited.

By far my favorite meal in Italy! It is a very small restaurant so reservations are very necessary. The food and house wines were absolutely delicious!! I would have eaten there another night if our trip had permitted it. The service was prompt and pleasant
