"This authentic country inn restored by the owner couple is the epitome of charm. Star-studded chef Anthony Hardy has built up a network he can rely on, starting with his wife Marie for the front of house, and including a handful of local producers for the ingredients. The resulting cuisine combines consummately crafted seasonal produce, spot-on seasonings and flawless cooking. Start with mackerel cooked over a direct flame and organic marinated celery, followed by exquisitely plated French duckling roasted whole and served with glazed carrots, finishing with a chou pastry stuffed with hazelnut cream, both minimalist and comforting at the same time. Pretty terrace overlooking the garden to the rear is heaven when the weather permits." - Michelin Inspector

Visited for dinner this evening. We had a wonderful meal with great service. As someone with a gluten allergy I appreciate how I was able to eat everything I wanted. Thank you. We will be back! Debbie & John

This was a new restaurant for us but we weren't staying here. Loved it and will be coming back if we ever return to Issigeac. This restaurant is the whole package. Thanks for a lovely time

Whilst we don't frequent this fabulous restaurant regularly, we are never disappointed when we do!! The location on the edge of the village is ideal, and parking across the street is available at no charge. Enter the building and a very warm welcome awaits! Our waitress was an absolute delight, and nothing was too much trouble. The menu is not extensive but is fantastic quality and very imaginative. If you are visiting Issigeac and looking for a 5* dining experience, you are in for a treat! Enjoy!!!

We’ve been coming here for years. And the management change has made it even better.

An absolutely wonderful restaurant with the most amazing and delicious food. The staff are helpful and attentive, and provide detailed background to the menu. We will definitely be back.

Went for evening meal and wasn't disappointed. At first the menu seems very restrictive, almost set menu bit you can swap courses over. BUT food and service were exceptional, great location. Just wished the weather could have been better then we could have sat outside.

We’ve eaten here a few times and it never disappoints. Our last menu du midi was absolutely out of this world and good value for money. Service, food and setting all incredible

Yelp
Been meaning to come here for ages and finally made it. Gorgeous restaurant set in a gorgeous old stone building just at the edge of the village. The interior is nicely done up has nice white tablecloth settings, quite traditional French. Food here is also classical French cuisine from the region with hints of flavours from Europe. The menu is seasonal with about 5-6 choices per course. Food here is great and service is also excellent and friendly. My entree of crayfish and dumpling made with mushrooms was really good. My main was nice but lacked a bit of seasoning. The mash was lovely and not too rich and had bits of sweet potatoes through it. Apple tarte was also lovely. If you call ahead vegetarian options are made available and they were quite good about it. Wine list is good with lots of wines from the region and cheese tray was great. All in all a great experience we would happily repeat again. It's good seasonal cuisine at a reasonable price.

Yelp
I contacted this restaurant to make a reservation for my wife and some friends. We agreed per email that I would come to pay the day after. Unfortunately, when my wife arrived, she got told that it wasn't what we agreed upon and "Votre mari n'est vraiment pas sympa" (which means: your husband is really not nice). For the starters, the waitress gave the plate to a guest and asked her to hand out the plates with no explanation. All the guest at the table agreed that the food was really tasty but unfortunately the bad service made it a disappointing experience. After this event I emailed the restaurant with a copy of the original email where they agreed I would pay the day after and never got any answer.

Yelp
we had the most fabulous lunch here. we hadn't booked but were made very welcome. the dining room is very classy, lovely fresh linen and elegant tableware. slight asian hint to some of the dishes. three of us ordered asparagus, scallops for starters and lamb, duck and fish for mains. all were excellent. winelist was a little hairy pricewise, but we found a semi resonably price white which was very pleasant. we'll definitely be returning again and again.

Yelp
Unlike the reviewer above, we have had two disappointing experiences here. The first time, we were put on the terrace, even though it was a cool evening. The little garden looked a bit shabby and there was no proper tablecloth. We were disappointed that the aperitif food consisted of nuts and little nibbles straight out of a packet, but then we had a really good first course followed by a pleasant second course. Having decided that the cooking was probably better than the ambience, we thought that we should try the dining room. When we arrived (it was forecast to be a cold evening..12 deg) we felt a lot of pressure put on us to sit on the terrace again, but eventually they agreed to seat us inside. The dining room is certainly better than the outside seating. The menu looked promising and classy, but this time, each course was, frankly, lacking in taste. We had carpaccio of salmon and then swordfish and neither tasted as fresh and delicious as they ought to have done and the sauces were lacklustre. We were so disappointed and probably won't try it again.
