We recently checked out a fairly new spot in Cary called La Buena Vida. Overall, we had a really good experience.
First off, I absolutely loved the interior — it’s super stylish and unique. It feels like a fresh design for Cary and probably even for Raleigh in general. There are some other Mexican spots with similar vibes, but this one definitely has its own twist. The dishes, furniture, and decor were all beautiful. Even the bar setup and drink presentations looked cool.
We didn’t try the cocktails this time, but I definitely plan to go back just for that.
As for the food, I had the fajitas — and I’ll be honest, I really liked them, but I’m also just a fajita fan in general. Hard to go wrong with those. So nothing mind-blowing, but definitely tasty.
Our daughter got a mini pizza from the kids’ menu, and she loved it. I tried a bite too, and it was surprisingly good. It came with some roasted potatoes — not fries, more like rustic-style — and they were delicious.
My wife ordered some fancy meat dish with bones (I don’t remember the name, but we got a pic of it), and she was a bit disappointed. Not because of how it was cooked — it was more about the dish itself. It looked big, but there wasn’t much actual food on the plate. That’s more on us than the restaurant.
One more thing I really liked was how they designed the menus — especially the cocktail menu. Everything had pictures and was really nicely laid out. Super creative and fun.
All in all, we’re planning to come back again — next time to try the drinks and enjoy the whole vibe even more.
