"Happy Hour at La Cabrera Beef is everywhere in Buenos Aires, but there are a few parrillas in town that stand above the rest for quality. Within that category, La Cabrera offers a unique experience. Yes, the focus is on the meat, but the sides almost steal the show—surprising vegetable dishes accompany each entrée, and in sharable portions. It’s typically packed with locals and tourists alike, so expect long waits any night of the week. That said, for those who can live with dinner earlier than Argentina’s customary 9 p.m. or later, La Cabrera offers an early seating they call “happy hour” that’s wait-free and includes a 40 percent discount on all menu items. Google
Genuinely very impressed! They offer a dinner deal with 40% off at certain times, which makes it amazing value. All of the steaks were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The sides were just as impressive, and there’s a lovely selection of wines to choose from. We left absolutely stuffed and very happy. It was genuinely so worth it—highly recommend!

Google
Had a lovely diner here. Was (pleasantly!) surprised by the Happy Hour discount -30% for diner between 18.30-20.00. Service was really good! Food wise it was possible to share dishes or eat half a portion, which was great. Salads as a side dish are also very good ánd huge, so easy to share. Am very pleased that I have visited this place, will come back!

I wish I could give 6 stars! Guys, let’s talk about the meat—what an explosion of flavors! It was the best meat we’ve ever had. Nelson, the guy who served us, was extremely nice. We were so happy to have met someone like him during our experience. He guided us through everything and even helped us keep an eye on the budget. Below are some photos. P.S. The empanadas as a starter? They deserve a special mention too! Absolutely incomparable—quality is quality! This restaurant is like seeing the Colosseum at least once in your life! But we will definitely be back! Thank you and bravo to the entire team!

Google
Awesome experience! This location offers 40% off your total order if you eat between 6:30 p.m. and 8. We got two steaks, a fried cheese wheel, fries, and loads of complementary sides for only $39 USD per person. Our server Nelson did an amazing job explaining and presenting the meal.

Google
We absolutely loved their “happy hour” experience with 40% off! The restaurant’s atmosphere was so beautiful. We loved everything we tried, especially the beef empanadas, and we were blown away by the steak and tiramisu. The service was quick and very friendly. Highly recommend! 10/10!!

Google
I had an unforgettable dining experience at La Cabrera. The steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and full of that signature Argentine flavor. The sides were just as exceptional, beautifully prepared and bursting with taste. Every bite felt like a celebration of quality and tradition. On top of that, the service was attentive and friendly, creating an all-around stellar meal. Without a doubt, La Cabrera deserves five stars. It’s a must-visit for anyone who appreciates top-notch Argentine cuisine. Nelson our server was helpful and explained everything to make our experience amazing!

Google
After traveling in Argentina for 3 weeks, we decided on La Cabrera for our last meal and we were not disappointed!! Wow, it was incredible! From the great food to all the free extras, the friendly waiter and the service, we all loved it!! If you go there, make sure you’re hungry because they aren’t greedy with the proportions and it would be a shame to leave any! Also, be prepared to be pleasantly surprised and amused by the lollipops tree which comes with « la cuenta » and the adorable carousel (it’s a music box!!) which came with sweets when we ordered a coffee. Thank you for giving us a beautiful ending to our fantastic vacation!

Google
We had an absolutely incredible dinner here. Our waiter Carlos was great and steered us in the right directions. We loved the skirt steak most of all. Highly recommend. A seemingly local spot

Yelp
I ABSOLUTELY loved my experience. It's a small cosy restaurant. The service was very good. I loved the visual aid of how you would like your steak cooked. My friend lives in Buenos Aires and she likes to take guests here. I fully trust her. We started with the empanada then moved to two different cuts of steak. There are multiple dipping sauces and all were incredibly fresh. The crème brulee sauce is a corn soufflé. The baba ganoush has a lot of garlic but I'm a garlic lover! The NY strip was about 3-3.5 inches thick and was perfectly cooked. Honestly, a sauce is not needed but it makes it fun. I would say it was one of the BEST steaks I've ever had. All the wine choices were great!!!! A Malbec is perfect! The dessert included two ice creams and dulche de leche in these wonderful light crepes. The strawberry ice cream was basically pure fruit frozen with some sugar. Incredible!

Yelp
One of best steak we had on trip. Plus points for cutting t-bone and bone in ribeye table side. The level Of disrespect for gringos was palatable and the only place we had any inklings of such attitudes. Other tables got a serving of initial amuse buche - we did not We asked for sommelier and was rebuffed although she visited other tables Menu- wine list was literally too Sammy to read. Main menu was in Spanish and we were directed to. QR code. When it finally opened it required a lot of scrolling AND the offerings were not the same as the menu. It was so frustrating we actually disucces leaving. If you can limit your expectations and jsut order the steak you will be please and at a reasonable price

Yelp
One of the best steak experiences I had while visiting Buenos Aires. We went to Don Julio the night before and were let down, but La Cabrera lived up to the hype. Portions were generous, Malbec was wonderful (DV Catena) and numerous small side plates were brought out at no additional charge. We had the T bone and filet and both were cooked beautifully as medium rare. Restaurant ambiance felt cozy and comfortable and we really enjoyed the wonderful service we were given. Thank you!

Yelp
Officially a tourist trap. We had a weird experience here. Our waiter left without letting us know so we had to ask for help because our food was missing. The steak was good but not up to the hype. We've been getting ribeye consistently and this restaurant was the first one that served a very fatty (more than average) piece. Aside from the service the food just didn't do it for us. The burrata was blah and then the caesar salad had a bunch of mayo on it? Overall, not a good experience.

Yelp
This is easily one of the best meals I have ever had. The interior was quaint and romantic (a little loud, crowded, and hot, but it wasn't anything unbearable). It had everything you'd expect of a steakhouse, but with an almost Italian touch to it? Our server was amazing. Incredibly helpful, quick, had great recommendations, and would oftentimes come around to our table with new sauces to try dipping our steak, fries, and bread in. To start, we had the assorted breads, each of which had its own distinct taste and every one of them was delicious, especially when dipped in the accompanying sauces! After that, we tried their empanadas, which were, again, outstanding (AND THE SAUCES!). I ordered a steak with a bleu cheese sauce over it and I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never had a better bleu cheese sauce in my life. I absolutely devoured it. Once again, the SAUCES that came with the steak were amazing! We had so many sauces at our table by the end that we were running out of room for everything! We had fries as a side and they were perfectly crispy and seasoned. Dessert was a huge surprise. We saw some servers walking around with it, so we had to get it... It was four scoops of ice cream with cones stuck on top. It looked like normal ice cream, but each and every flavor was absolutely amazing. We ate it all up. I cannot recommend this place more highly! Definitely make a reservation if you plan to go. There was a long line outside when we left!

Mike A.

Yelp
Pretty terrific steaks, and service was outstanding.. Cuts of beef are enormous - lomo (tenderloin) and ribeye were each enough for two people (would share next time) but cooked perfectly and were absolutely delicious. Really enjoyed all the amuse bouches, and house wine was tasty and inexpensive. Definitely make a reservation in advance if you go on a weekend. Highly recommended

Yelp
Excellent place to dine!!! We were a party of 45 and the service we received from beginning to end was beyond our expectations!! The food and drinks were amazing! I had the BEST Cesar salad I have ever had in my life at La Cabrera! It had fresh grated parmesan, thick chunks of bacon and the dressing was tasty and they weren't stingy, it was big enough for 4 of us to share. Pricing was excellent as well we all are very well. We had steaks, wine salads and the bill was only $600 USD for all of us!!! Also this place was so cute ambience was great! Will definitely be a place that we shall visit when we return to Argentina.

Yelp
Amazing food at the airport!! Gracias!!! I love this restaurant but didn't have time to go and what a nice surprise and treat! At the airport!!

Yelp
Look at my photos and salivate like Pavlov himself rang a dinner bell while dopamine washes over your brain at the thought of carving up that steak. Your neurotransmitters will do no justice to actually eating the whole thing in one sitting - holding yourself back, purely for decorum, and not grabbing your quarry and foregoing cutlery. Word of advice - show up at 6:30 and be part of the early crowd. You absolutely must be out of your seat before 8 sharp but you literally get 40% off EVERYTHING including alcohol. So.... Queue up early, order the steak, get a bottle - best steak & experience in Buenos Aires.

Yelp
Amazing food, excellent service. It was about an hour wait but it was worth it. Can't wait to go back again. There's a but tho... avoid at all costs to go to the restrooms while you're eating. Doors are see through and it's something I do not want to see while I'm happy about my meal.

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
I went for lunch - party of 1. I had to wait an hour. The waiter recommended the steak chorizo. It was hard to cut and chew. Also, the chimichurri was like mayonnaise. I would not go again. Separately I had a steak at Parilla Pena, excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
absolutely amazing and it's an open secret they have happy hour pricing that starts at 6:30pm, full menu and 40% off the entire bill (including wine). people start lining up at 5:30pm because it's so worth it I ordered wayyy too much food. every table comes with a plate of veggies as part of the meal (like six different ones, including mashed potatoes, sweet corn, applesauce and an amazing ratatouille with a poached egg). that and a big steak is all you need, trust me. although...the empanadas are the best I've ever eaten, anywhere, so it would be difficult not to order them again. steak was amazing, service impeccable even though it was at the HH time. I wish I had discovered the place early because I would have come every week. but I have another week left here and I'm sure I'll be back a few more times

Yelp
Came with no reservations and seated in about 15 minutes. Service was very good and enjoyed the starters, bread and wine. I basically deducted 2 stars because my filet was too dry and that made it difficult to eat. It's a steakhouse and it should be better. Portions are huge, so be careful on ordering too much.
google avatar

Yelp
The wait was very long for walk up, so I would say definitely make a reservation. Food was good but not great. Ambiance inside was very quaint and cute though.

Yelp
We love this restaurant even though it was an hour wait for a table. It's possible to shop in the adjacent Serrano Plaza area which has great prices due to the construction taking place on the Plaza. Once we were finally seated everything was fantastic and we can understand why this is the #5 restaurant in Buenos Aires. Our waiter was really nice with a great personality. He told us that La Cabrera is expanding to places like Miami, Florida and Barcelona, Spain and one of his jobs involved training the staff at these new outposts across the world. We shared a large rib eye steak and ordered a salad and sweet potato puree side dish to share. My wife had a glass of wine and the total bill was 28,000 pesos including the tip or $35 USD. I'm sure that the La Cabrera in Miami is a lot more expensive. Due to the crazy exchange rate this place is really inexpensive right now.

Yelp
I ate here with three other women on the weekend of the Taylor Swift Eras tour, and we were a bit nervous that the restaurant would be overcrowded and touristy. We were pleasantly surprised that was not the case. We had an absolute feast of steak, veggies, salad, bread, and wine for about $100 USD (including tip). We ate during the earlier shift and had plenty of time to finish our food before needing to leave for the next shift. The steaks are HUGE!

Yelp
We had a great time at La Cabrera. The food was amazing! Steaks, fries, sweet bread as an appetizer, Caesar salad. Also a bunch of extras provided to go with fresh baked bread. My only complaint was with the online reservation system which didn't flow through to staff. Luckily I had a paper copy of my reservation or it likely wouldn't have been accepted. The place was packed for an early dinner with walk ups on Saturday evening. A line forms before opening so be ready to wait if you don't have a reservation.

Yelp
Another great steakhouse in Buenos Aires, reservation is a must but can come earlier to put your name down to be on the walk-in list. We went for lunch with no reservation but came in right when they opened and put our name on the list and they told us to come back at a certain time. Afterwards we got seated about 5 to 10 min from the time noted to come back. We opted for outdoor seating, which was nice was able to enjoy the weather. We ordered appetizers of empanadas 4 pieces, half portions of morcilla & chorizo, Tomahawk steak. This was plenty for 3 people, we had left overs. Our table was also served a nice bread basket, and our meal came with sides. The food was delicious and our Tomahawk was cooked perfectly medium. Overall the food was good, but the service was kinda okay, we needed refills on our drinks and it took them a while to check on us, but not sure if it's because we were outside.

Yelp
Hands down the best steak! This place gets packed, make sure you have a reservation or you get there early if you dont have one. The staff is courteous and the servers are incredibly friendly. The ambience is very typical of a steak house, dark with dim lights. I started with a 1/2 chorizo, by itself it super flavorful but when topped with chimichurri it becomes amazing. Then I ordered the grilled tenderloin. I got four large medallions, cooked to perfection (nice and pink) you sprinkle some salt and it will be the best steak you have ever had. Also tried the bone in dry age ribeye, it was flavorful as well.

Yelp
Caro al pedo. No lo vale tanto en la comida como el servicio. Pero si queres quedar bien con alguien, si lo vale

Mike C.

Yelp
Fantastic meal and service! We heard about the Sunday special seating at 6:30 PM and arrived at 6 PM to get our name in the list. Everyone who arrived early was seated and enjoyed a 40% discount as long as their meal was complete by 8 PM. The steak, chicken, salmon and accompaniments were delicious. Our waiter recommended a great Malbec, which was also discounted. Overall service was excellent. Allow yourself time after dinner to explore this area as there Is great shopping, music and bars.

Cynthia R.

Yelp
save your money! The food was Teresa d the service worse! In our party of four, theee were served dinner and the fourth never got their food until the rest of us were done. We ordered a Caesar salad for the table that came after they removed our salad plates and was lettuce with mayonnaise and Kraft shaker can Parmesan on it. My salmon was cold and bland. The two steaks were ok but not Argentina steak good. Found out the restaurant has franchised which may explain the cheap quality food and poor service now. We booked months ago based on reviews and it's not our first visit to Buenos Aires and won't be our last but it will be the last to that restaurant! Dont go!

Angie M.

Yelp
Make reservations!, the service was top notch! and the food was to die for!, it was great, pair with a nice a bottle of wine!

Aristides C.

Yelp
Excelente. Asado de tira maravilhoso. Bons vinhos. Ambiente agradável, mas um poço apertado. Serviço bem atencioso. Preços adequados ao lugar que pretende ser bastante exclusivo. Vale a pena

Yelp
While this place has a long wait and might be a bit touristy, it is probably the best meal we had the whole time we were in Argentina. While it does appear you can make reservations ahead of time online, we came on a busy Friday night and still didn't have to wait much more than 30-40 minutes, which was fantastic since we couldn't stop drooling every time the waiters would walk by with a sizzling steak. We had a salad (delicious after relatively few vegetables elsewhere) and the dry aged Argentine ribeye, which was absolutely delicious. The sides and the bread were all delicious as well - the eggplant cheese spread as well as the carrot puree were so good I'll be trying hopelessly to recreate them at home for years to come. The value of the meal, given the USD exchange rate, was so good I would have gone back again if my stomach could tolerate it. I'd recommend this place to anyone coming to visit CABA for a classic Argentine grilled meal!
google avatar

Yelp
Decent quality meat with minimal seasoning but great, fresh taste. Not many vegetarian options nor a lot dessert options.

Yelp
Off a recommendation from someone who has visited B.A. This is a place that tourists visit for sure. It's catered to the out of towner but in a way that is certainly charming. We came here to eat that beef so we got the dry aged ribeye and the wagyu choice (the more expensive choice). Still the bill came out to only $50 per person for this with wine which is just crazy in my city. The problem with this was that the meat was not filleted properly and the wagyu had a line of tendon on it that was not palatable until it was cut off by my steak enthusiast. It's good quality for sure but attention was lacking in this department. Felt like a regular meal in my home city of NYC. They have a vast bread selection like some of the classic steakhouses and also have a fun end to the evening in a lollipop tree. It's endearing really but I found better steak in B.A.
google avatar

Yelp
Closer to 5 stars than 4 but can't give it full 5 for a few reasons. Had to wait a little over an hour to be seated which seems to be norm here in Buenos Aires but was told closer to 30 minutes and other restaurants here do a better job of offering drinks and small tapas while you wait in the cold especially. The restaurant itself the main one where we ate was beautiful and the food was incredible. Have nothing but great things to say about the food and overall ambiance. Last reason for not making 5 stars was that it wasn't until the very end of the meal did our waiter warm up and for most of the meal it felt like we were bothering him as we are not 1000% fluent in Spanish.

Kay C.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Showed up during weekday approximately 2pm and were seated immediately. This is my second most favorite parrilla after fogon asado, and at least 5-10x better than Don Julio. I had the Tomahawk Steak which was cooked to perfection (asked for jugoso) and wouldn't have it any other way. My fiend had Bife de chorizo which was amazing as well. Also they took USD in cash with favorable blue rate. I'd highly recommend to check out this place. Friendly service staff, amazing wine option and food with great ambiance. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Doraemon C.

Yelp
Very good service on top of great food. We were more than 30 minute late of our reservation but they still honored it. The meats, condiments are all so delicious. I over ordered but finished everything. Didn't even leave room for the free lollipop tree!
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
10 years ago, this was one of my favorite Parrillas. The service is still lovely. The staff is kind and on top of it. But the steaks was tough and over cooked. I like it medium-rare, which we call jugoso. The Provoleta was so hard we could barely cut through it. The waiter tried another one but it was only marginally better. I really hope they can get it together.

Anne H.

Yelp
Food is mediocre. My steak is almost raw and I ordered medium. It was so busy there is no service. Our waitress was the worst ever had. We have to call multiple times to just order. 3 people sitting by the table she only brought two glasses and one of them was very chipped at the edge. Did the same for wine glasses too. Never come back to check on us. Our food coming in totally different time. I almost finished mine the. My kids meal finally came. My son has to grab the next table's olive oil and vinaigrette for our salad because she didn't bring them to us. Expecting no service when you come to this place.
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
We were able to get a table without a reservation on a Thursday night. I wanted to order a dry aged ribeye medium well. It came medium rare. I had to send it back. Then I got a house Malbec and the restaurant charged almost 4,000 peso. My husband ordered ribs. That was terrible. I am not sure why people are saying steak in Argentina is the best. We tried Don Julio and now here. Steaks are chewy. I can't cut. It has too much fat. For me, American steaks are much better.
google avatar

tori p.

Yelp
First off, without a reservation you're gonna be waiting at least an hour. Portions are huge for the price. Literally a $25 steak that probably would cost $100 in the US. Every dish feeds about two people. Issue with the items is that everything was pretty salty. Service is exceptional. Also, they can't make any alcoholic drinks.. asked for a Cuba Libra (rum and coke) and they couldn't make it. Pretty much a tourist trap.

Yelp
Finally came back after a few years of absence. We came for lunch because we now have a child to consider. We had the ojo de bife, chorizo, morcilla, empanadas, french fries, and salad. The service is always great and this time was no exception. The fries and the salad were great. The chorizo has always been the best I've ever had but this time it was good but not great. The texture of the chorizo left something to be desired. It's fat content seemed really higher than normal. The Ojo de bife was good but not great. The bites of actual meat were great but half the steak was nothing but fat. My wife loved the morcilla. We had some scoops of gelato for dessert that were good. Overall the experience was great but the food was just good. We did order way to much food for two adults and one child. The bill was around $ 120.00 USA which isn't bad for such a large meal with great service. I think maybe the quality has gone down a bit but maybe due to the pandemic.
google avatar

Christopher H.

Yelp
This was worst experience I ever had the waiter was rude the food was bland. I don't recommend anyone get sucked into this experience there are a lot more steak houses in BA with better food and better customer service.

Juan P.

Yelp
Real good steak and the wine and excellent services . High recommended. Super super delicious filet mignon the best, at chile Santiago ..

Yelp
Our friend recommended La Cabrera as THE place to get asado in Argentina. Let our meal be a lesson for any other couple who thinks they're hungry and tries to order two entrees (there was more food on our table than the family of four next to us!!). We WhatsApp messaged the restaurant (lol) to see if they were open New Years Day, and they were, and told us that without a reservation, we should come at 8:40 to get on the list for any immediate second seating no shows or to be first in line for the third seating. Barely missed the second seating but only had to wait 40 min for the third seating, and they brought out sausages, fries, champagne and water for everyone while they waited. PS the Google Maps location isn't accurate-you have to keep going a block. Not only are the cuts of meat huge, but they come with two sets of sides, warm and cold (not to mention the bread, butter and antipasti that are put out at the beginning of the meal). We ordered the Asado, ravioli and arugula + carrot salad. Strangely, the arugula salad didn't come with carrots so it was just.....arugula. By the time we saw everything come out, we couldn't be bothered to ask for carrots, knowing we couldn't even eat half of the food that came out. In typical Argentinian fashion, the meal ran about three hours, as we were put through the mental and physical test of eating short a kilo of meat at 11pm. We had to take the ravioli and a small portion of the meat home, but it came in a cute reusable tote bag. The cherry on top of the meal is the fun lollipop tree that bring out with the check! This was definitely one of our more expensive meals in the city, as food is very affordable in the city, but comparative to American meal prices this was spot on.

Yelp
[The ultimate steak tour in Buenos Aires] [TL;DR] - Advantages: No wait if you arrive at 6:30pm. If you finish your dinner before 8:00pm, you can get a 30% off your entire bill. - Since the steak is served on a sizzling pan, you better eat the steak fast or you'll be eat well done steak at the end. - Even though it comes second to Don Julio, it's on the same level as them. [Overview] After somehow convincing my wife, we recently completed a week-long tour of the best speciality steakhouses in Buenos Aires. I sourced the list with a combination of Google Maps, Yelp, Trip Advisors, and some food bloggers. Overall, the restaurants we visited and ranked are below: (The links are listed at the bottom and the details are listed on each of the restaurant's profile) 1st: Don Julio 2nd: La cabrera 3rd: Calden del Soho 4th: Santos Manjares [Details] La Cabrera, is definitely on the same caliber in terms of the overall steakhouse dining experience. But it was edged out by Don Julio for the taste. Don't get me wrong though, La Cabrera has a few advantages. For one, there is no wait if you arrive for dinner at 6:30pm. Secondly, they have a 30% off the entire bill including food and drinks if you can finish and get the bill before 8:00pm (Yes.. Bottles of wine are included in the discount). Initially, I thought they just artificially raised the price only to offer the discount, but the regular prices are comparable to all the other steakhouses already. [Food] When you first sit down, they provide a tray of olives and a bread basket of interesting variety of sauces. We ordered the Ribeye steak and the mash potato and Asparagus sides. The steak overall was a great quality of meat. However, given that the steak is served on a hot plate, the steak continues to cook and unfortunately the last few pieces were fully cooked and not as appealing. [Service] The services was good, but not amazing. Also the layout and decor has more of an intimate and casual feel. [Price] The ribeye was approx. 1,247 ARS ( $21 USD). The side dishes are average 375 ARS ($6 USD) [Stars Breakdown Key] - Food - Up to 3 stars: (Given for the quality of the steak) - Service - Up to 1 star - Overall Experience: Up to 1 star [Actual Stars Breakdown] - Food: 3 Stars - Service: 1 Star - Overall: 0.5 Total: 4.5 Stars . (Rounded up to 5 stars) [Links] - Don Julio - https://www.yelp.es/biz/don-julio-buenos-aires - Calden del Soho - https://www.yelp.es/biz/calden-del-soho-buenos-aires - Santos Mangares: https://www.yelp.es/biz/santos-manjares-buenos-aires

Yelp
Great place. Be there before 1:00 pm or make a reservation because it will get busy. The line outside was super long. Any steak you order will be amazing, it's a guarantee. Leave some space for dessert. It's worth it. The service is spectacular, super friendly and courteous. I'm Jos t sure if the speak English though.

Nadia S.

Yelp
This has been our favorite steakhouse in Buenos Aires thus far. The steak was cooked to perfection and the service was fabulous. My partner and I can together and elected for the larger portion of Ribeye and pasta; however it was much more than we could eat. Next time we'll opt for smaller portions. Based on recommendation from previous Yelper, we stopped in for early dining beginning at 630. So happy we did.

Yelp
Buenos cortes de carne, porciones grandes, calidad y calidez en la comida. Para repetir

Yelp
We had a good experience here especially coming right at 6:30pm for their happy hour (30% off everything). You just show up without any reservation for the happy hour because technically the restaurant doesn't open until 8pm and that's for rsvp only. The line does get long so get ready to be there a little before 6:30pm. We ordered the skirt steak and beef churriso, both are at 400g each otherwise you'll struggle to finish the meat. Very good cut and juicy steaks. If you don't know how they cook rare or medium rare here ask for a picture of the steaks. Honestly I think the quality of meat is better at Don Julio, however the happy hour price here makes it very worthy. Don't forget to pair your meat with a Nice glass of Malbec. Service is excellent.

Yelp
Extraordinary dining experience. I can't imagine how it could get much better: the grass fed steak was bonkers delicious, sauces were nice touch, provolone appetizer was incredible. Excellent atmosphere, I felt like I was in another world. There was an hour wait but not a big deal, we just grabbed drinks next door, was a-ok with me. The service was a little inattentive, but not to the point where I'll deduct any stars for it, but they could improve on it. La Cabrera, you're the da' bomb.

Yelp
My first time at this restaurant, I would recommend this place 100%. My Argentinian friend took me here and the atmosphere is authentic, the portions are huge, ideal to share and delicious. I have the tenderloin -lomo-. Four pieces were delivered on a hot skillet. The waiter was super polite and brought us bread, a variety of dips, side dishes and salads. They were all made with different ingredients from the Argentinean traditional cuisine, like batata, zapallo anco, a Malbec mousse...everything was deliciou

Yelp
What a sham this place is. I can only suspect it once had its glory days, however it is very clear those days are long gone. First, this place is a factory. Pushing tourists in and out and acting like they hold the greatest gifts of mankind in their hands - arrogance abounds. Second, the wine (1/2 bottle) was mediocre. So bad I sent it back and had to convince the server to let me give it back "as it was opened". It was bad, and usually I'm one to just sit quiet and drink the consequences of my bad choices. Second bottle was slightly better, but marginally. Third, the food is overpriced and the entire service concept is just odd. I ordered a steak. The meat itself was actually nice (that's where they get my 2 stars from) but the sides were just odd. All those little dishes of sauce and other stuff - it was like a Korean bbq. I ordered a side salad and what came out was an enormous plate of lettuce and tomatoes with some red onion on top. The myriad sides and sauces actually came out 5-10 minutes after my salad and steak so I spent the first 5-10 minutes eating undressed salad. Fourth, the service concept is completely lacking. During my meal the servers began to stack cleaned glasses from the kitchen on the empty tables around me (presumably getting ready for closing) while I felt like I was dining in their back storage room (my table was at the window in a prime location). It was rude. Service was arrogant, as mentioned above. The servers were to busy making a spectacle like it was parilla Disney to actually care. And two servers made a special point to remind me they the tips were not included. (The menu makes an odd mention of how the servers are not to push for tips, but they definitely do. Odd how the menu is trying to police staff behavior.) Don't go here. Define decline from what was once a Top 50 restaurant to a cliche tourist trap.

Yelp
Was told by many people that this was the place to go in BA for an authentic parrilla experience. Heard that they have a discount during their happy hour between 7-8 but didn't realize that the entire meal had to be ordered and eaten between 7-8. We arrived around 7:20 and got a table quickly, ordering is relatively fast since the menu is pretty classic and straight forward. On to the food: Appetizer- caprese salad and empanadas: salad was fine, ingredients weren't super fresh but passable. Carne empanadas had a great savory filling with chunks of well seasoned meat in a light sauce, but the empanadas had not been drained properly and were still too oily from the fryer. Bread with butter and chicken pate were also on the table while ordering- all 3 were ok, nothing special Entree- split the rib eye and sirloin strip- both were cooked properly ( a nice medium rare), the rib eye was definitely more tender and flavorful. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like the steaks had been allowed to rest prior to serving as the juice came leaking out as we cut into the steak. The steak was served with great mini sides of chimichurri, salsa criolla and pickled vegetables. Also ordered a side of mashed potatoes- pretty awful, very watery, have had boxed spuds with more flavor/better texture Dessert- we got to pick from a lollipop tree as dessert is not allowed during happy hour Overall the empanadas and steaks were flavorful, if more time had been spent to ensure they were ready to be served, there probably would be another star added to the score... If you want to check out the happy hour, be sure to get there right at 7 to ensure enough time without feeling rushed. The happy hour discount is 40% off the entire check so definitely worth it if meat is the primary goal

Yelp
Unimpressed. Overrated. Went here on a recommendation of an American friend and was sorely disappointed. The caprese salad lacked basil and didn't come with a balsamic vinaigrette reduction. The tenderloin (lomo) was undercooked (asked for punto/medium) and it was rare. Lacked any real flavor as well. I was very much looking forward to a nice Argentine steak and left disappointed. I've had so many better steaks in the US. The service was OK. Will not be coming back.

Yelp
Even with their Happy Hour Discount the prices are higher than just about any other Steakhouse. The portions were huge but the quality was average. All of our food came out at the same time including the steaks and the salad. This place was very touristy and over hyped. The salad was plain. The filet was good but way too much, like a pound of meat. The tomahawk was terrible. It was raw, tough, and had fat everywhere. There was a large cubierto which i do not recall seeing listed on the menu unless that was the "entertainment fee" mentioned on the menu. The service was mediocre.
