"La Cafette is a small French spot next to Have & Meyer and around the corner from Four Horsemen. And while those wine bars tend to be packed at 6pm on a rainy Sunday, this place almost always has an open table or seats at the bar. Keep that in mind the next time you’re looking for wine and small plates with a date, and don’t feel like making small talk for an hour while waiting for a host to text you. Start with steak tartare and glasses of French wine, which are $6 during Happy Hour, and if you decide to hang out for a while listening to live jazz, share the tender rotisserie chicken served with potatoes that soak up the rich jus." - Matt Tervooren

Cute breakfast place in Brooklyn. The food was fantastic and it had an authentic French feel due to the French servers and French food. Would definitely come back, the yogurt was amazing and the eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly. Also the French toast was great. Not the cheapest but also not unreasonable for New York. Lots of hipsters, you’ve been warned.

Best experience for brunch, small cozy french restaurant. We ordered the eggs Benedict and french toast. It was unbelievably good. The french toast is a must try. Charles our waiter was very welcoming and did a great job. Definitely Recommended!!

Good small and cozy addition to the area. Super friendly staff. Amazing chicken. Very reasonably priced. They are still working on the cocktails, but those will follow soon.

French food as it’s supposed to be : Homey! Not a fancy overpriced Michelin experience. Great place! I’m French and the menu, the ambiance, the food felt like I was back home! The food is excellent! Thank you for bringing a little bit of France to New York.

- cute little French café with nice ambience; - friendly staff; - good food. Only 2 things to be aware of - espresso not from fresh grounded coffee beans; the eggs of the baked ham, egg & cheese are cooked beyond well-done, and that’s how they serve that dish.

I loved the aesthetic of this place: the music, the decor, and the French theme. I got the French toast and it was amazing. The prices here are a little higher than usual, but they make their meals a work of art. You're paying for presentation, so it makes sense. Lastly, if you know French, this is a great place to hang out. My brother knows French and I don't, but we both had a great time here!

Chicken was juicy, but a little plain. I asked for french fries instead of potatoes and was informed there are no substitutions. I can maybe understand this on a busy night, but there were 6 people in the entire restaurant. The potatoes were dry and not amazing like advertised. Overall I had the impression that they could care less for my business. Definitely not worth $19, I had Joe’s Pizza afterwards!

Enjoyed the happy hour wine & cheese selection! Cheese was delicious but not great value. $20 for four very thin slices of cheese. The vibe was ok! Waiter knew nothing about wine which was a bit disappointing and was pretty rude / inattentive considering it was soooo quiet. I’ve always walked by and wandered why it’s so quiet compared to the restaurant next door.
