La Calaca is one of those places that truly captures the spirit of Coyoacán. Located inside a beautiful colonial house, the space feels warm and full of character from the moment you walk in. The architecture alone is worth the visit, with its traditional details and cozy layout that invite you to slow down and enjoy the experience.
The service is excellent:attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The staff makes you feel at home while also offering thoughtful recommendations on both the food and cocktails. Speaking of which, the Mexican cuisine here is outstanding a must have is the guac with chapulines. Their cocktails are just as impressive, I loved the mezcalita de jamaica.
One of the highlights is the artwork. Several murals by different artists, such as Cocolvu decorate the walls, giving the restaurant a vibrant and authentically Mexican vibe. The colors, imagery, with lots of calacas and catrinas all over the place make it stand out. La Calaca truly is a spot worth returning every week.
