The 21 Best Restaurants In Margate

"A wine bar and shop from the folks at Bottega Caruso around the corner, La Cantina is a classy little aperitivo spot. Just like its big sibling next door, La Cantina focuses on the simple things done well. Jars of homemade passata line the shelves, thick cuts of speck and pickled courgettes come out on plates, and the offer of takeaway spritzes is almost as tempting as a glass of red vermouth over ice indoors. The menu doesn’t extend much beyond excellent charcuterie and cheeses, but everything is sourced and plated with care." - jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

La Cantina by Bottega Caruso Margate - Review - Margate - London - The Infatuation

I don't normally write reviews but Cantina Caruso needs to be added to everyone's 'go to ' place if they like good food served with an ambience. Home made warm bread topped with home made butter and a silky smoothe parfait were all totally delicious. The difficulty was choosing what to drink with that, but the attentive barman suggested the Beaujolais Nouveau.......which was spot on.

The food was great, like, REALLY great. The chef and the bartender were so friendly and welcoming. Our cocktails were delicious, and the food was so, so good. We had a meat plate, a cheese plate, HUGE olives, stracciatella, beautiful baked bread, and aubergine Parmesan. Would recommend to anyone.

Cute and cosy deli with stools for sitting, drinking wine and chatting with the owners. The bowl of ragu was amazing, so richly flavoured. Would love to visit again and try get into the restaurant around the corner, but a late evening stop at the deli was a great choice this time.

A beautiful, cosy wine bar with an outstanding offering of wine and delicious small plates! Wonderful friendly service and knowledgeable staff - felt like we had been transported to Italy for the night! A real gem in Margate.

La Cantina is a sweet little wine bar in the centre of Margate that's a slice of Italian perfection. Inside at the counter you can order a selection of small dishes along with some carefully selected wines. Then beyond this there are shelves packed with Italian delights that speak of a world where food is cherished rather than consumed. The staff are lovely and if you fancy a dose of sunshine on a gloomy day then La Cantina should be on your list.

Quite possibly the best sausage ciabatta we've ever had. My girlfriend dropped some on the floor and still ate it, it was that good. My life will never be the same again - thanks!!

We were unable to get a table at the main restaurant (Bottega Caruso is a few yards away). Suggested that we might try the more informal La Cantina operated by the same owners. Smaller menu but really high quality and fantastic, friendly service. Lots of products from local ateliers on display as well
