La Carreta

My kind of place. Wish I could give it 6 stars. Awesome food, service and nice low key ambiance. Nice to enjoy a dinner with a cold beer and some music in the background.

La Carreta is truly a must for anybody in the Lynchburg area. Everybody has their favorite location, but personally this one is the best. The staff are all amazing and so kind and generous, they always treat me and everyone I know with such kindness and patience. The food is always fantastic, and so much bigger than you'd expect for the already low prices! I've never gotten tired of La Carreta! Go there, go there, go there!!!

The food tasted good and their service was fast. We didn't have to wait to get seated and there is plenty of parking. Nice place for lunch or dinner.

Had the texicano talavera and strawberry/mango margarita it was a great meal and a great time very lowkey compared to most other la caretta restaurants I’ve gone to I can appreciate that. It’s a cozy and personal experience great food wonderful staff quick speedy service

Sadly, I dont have positive things to say about this service. As I am typing this review I've waited over 10 minutes for the server to collect my payment in a non busy location. The food is good, but that defeats the purpose when your service is bad. I had to physically get up and wait an additional 5 minutes to pay. The fact that I waited 20 minutes to pay for my food is bananas!

I took my step-mom out to lunch, and she chose LaCarreta in Lynchburg. Ours was a late lunch, around 4 p.m., and the place was pretty much deserted. We both chose the combo meal which includes your choice of 2 items, rice, and beans. My plate was a cheese enchilada, and a chicken tamale. I don't know why most of the tamales in VA are chicken, I prefer pork, or beef myself. My step-mom chose a taco, and a cheese enchilada. Their salsa was very basic, thin, and a bit watery with a slight kick. The enchilada was fine, but the tamale tasted stale to me. She enjoyed her meal thoroughly, and had no complaints. The service was fast and efficient. I would not go out of my way to dine here again. Total price for 2 plates, and 2 drinks was $27.72 before tip.

A great place for quality and quick service with your favorite Mexican dishes. We had a large party (16) and our server did wonderfully. Great bar with delicious margaritas.

We love this place. Service is generally quick and the atmosphere is great so we really don't mind a few extra minutes!! The food comes out steaming hot!!
