I found this place on Vernon and Compton ave in la,ca right by Vernon the city … the food here was very delicious, I came here twice Friday and Saturday.. I was impressed with the service experience here , I definitely recommend this place to my friends and family… the carnitas we’re on fire and the asada burrito was delicious.. like I said I came here twice cause it was fire food and I had to come back for lunch 😋.. gracias La Carreta taqueria…

There were multiple of those tiny pieces of glass in my food (I had the burrito) I had already eaten some before I spotted the first piece All the food was taken back to be on the safe side about the glass (since all had same ingredients). Refunded after pestering, had to after being denied.

The service and food quality are very good is a busy place so expect a Lil delay in getting your food but the tacos and quesa tacos asada are very good I like the doradita one and that's my favorite

Mulitas with the freshly made tortillas are still the best. Menudo was a bit on the blend side, como que le falto sabor. Don't get confused and order the quesadillas, the mulitas is what put this place on the map from when they first started out of a food truck... Enjoy...

we came in on the night before new years eve 2023 and expected it to be busy but luckily for us there was plenty of on site parking available. we ordered the carne asada torta , tacos with al pastor, carne asada and lengua. they each were very good and had a good portion size of the meat. they have a small salsa bar for the toppings and also beans you can serve in a cup. i will note here that there was an issue with our initial order as our torta was input on the order incorrectly as shrimp but we didn't notice until they had made it. they double checked the receipt, asked for a few minutes to remake it and apologized. i'm sure we'll be back in the future again to try some different stuff on their menu.

I rarely do reviews but this one I had too. My husband went and got food. We got 1 burrito de asada, 2 carnitas tacos, 4 asada tacos. I can say these were so booooomb with the red sauce spicy and tasty, salsa had amazing flavor. Green salsa was also good but I like my salsas spicy and red did the trick. But everything was so delicious and definitely going back.

I can't believe the sad truth about this place, the quality of the burrito and mulita aint the same compared to 20+ years ago. The burrito feels so oily and greasey! So sad that the quality has gone down smh I'm not ever going back 😪.

First time customer. Walked and was confused on where to order. Their menu is on a tv but it was turned off. Cashier just stared knowing I was confused she did not give me any direction or say anything. Other customers ended up going in front if me. So I waited in line and she was taking her sweet time taking orders. Don’t recommend this place if you’re trying to grab something fast.

This is going to be a must visit every time I'm in the area. Great and authentic food no matter the choice! The tripa taco is must on the table; I can eat four of those just by myself. They're that good. The burrito is also a great and the seasoning is spot on, plus the salsas have a nice heat to them. It's a small space, not a lot of tables but it's honestly enough to accommodate any parties for a quick bite. In a city with so much competition for a great taco, you cannot go wrong with La Carreta.

Freshly made tortillas. I ordered an Especial burrito which had plenty of shrimp, carne asada and was full of flavor. Loved it.

Only tried their burrito but damn that was tasty. Carne asada no rice. Smokey taste! Definitely going back!

This place *WAS amazingly delicious, tender high QUALITY superb tasting carne asada marinated to perfection, now I don't know if the owners are cutting expenses by buying cheap tough meat with a lot of rubbery nerve endings , tacos are bland and not tortillas are RAW !!! These new cooks probably not Mexican are leaving the raw tortillas tasting like pupusa Dough, the tortas look delicious and like a masterpiece, but one taste is enough to realize even if you drench it in their flavorless salsas , it's just not gonna cut it , the menudo , again super red #40 and greasy which is fine , but tastes only greasy and No flavor !!! New recipes? New cooks ? New meat vendors ? Cmon get it together because we all used to love this place Oh, the HORCHATA was on point !!! Only thing I enjoyed

This is my favorite place for lunch love the food the price and the cleanliness of the place. You can have the unlimited hot beans from the pot always a winner lunch with my co workers at La Carreta . My favorite is chicken tacos big chunks of meat you can see them cooking in front of you , friendly staff always pleasing to deal with. I highly recommend this place for great Mexican food

I walked in excited for the Menudo but unfortunately it ran out when I asked for it after waiting in line. Plenty of parking.

Was introduced to this little spot back when wifey and I were dating. Its still pretty good after all these years. We always get the same thing, Quesadilla de Asada which is pretty much an i overgrown Mulita. Double tortilla, with choice of meat and cheese. Place looks little cleaner now, usually not busy last few times.

Always satisfied when coming here I know it's typical to say that everything on the menu tastes good but for real everything on the menu taste good you can't go wrong with anything you choose I am a vegetarian and I still find something on the menu that tastes amazing and fills me up there Aguas are perfect not too sweet their service is always quick the location is constantly being cleaned this spot has been a Family favorite since the 90s

Seven Days A Week. my little sister had the mulitas de camarón along with an ice cold Horchata. , per usual, i had the mulitas de asada and pepino. We Came Back Twice in the Same Day. lunch and again later for dinner. besitos

Best Tacos ever!!! Everytime I am craving tacos I will make the drive over to Carreta!

Unimpressed, a friend recommended it by saying he'd eaten here years ago and it was very good. So I stopped in, one of the first things I noticed was they had mushroom tacos. I don't remember ever seeing that on a menu and thought maybe it's a specialty of theirs. So I ordered a mushroom taco and a chorizo taco. The food came out quick and was ready by the time I got salsa, cilantro and onions from the bar. I took it to my truck and removed the foil. The chorizo taco was pretty good but the mushroom was like they opened a can of mushrooms, warmed it in a microwave and put it on the tortilla. They were bland and flavorless. Really a big disappointment.

Food is always good here. Fresh tortillas. The meats are always tasty. The service is fast and efficient. Ambiance is great for fast tacos, burritos or etc.

Favorite Taqueria ever! Clean restaurant, fresh tasty food, and quick turnover after ordering and they even properly label your burritos if you buy more than one. Free beans to fill up on, grilled onions if you ask, homemade tortillas that don't break easily, good quality of meat. Gets busy after the work day is over and during the weekends but I've never had a problem finding seating when going with one other person. If you don't speak Spanish there is always someone on the shift that speaks English as this is a predominantly Spanish speaking restaurant.

The salsa and Al pastor tacos are good. My mom like the carnitas tacos over the Al pastor though. The tortillas are handmade. The food gets cold fast so you need to it eat it right away. The Jamaica is a little too sweet, but still delicious. The service is fast. Toppings are unlimited. The outside seating is really cute as well.

Love this place. Have been coming here since 2017-2018 and I've tried alot of things and always leave satisfied. But recently I came and tried the chicken salad and I don't regret it. The chicken was flavorful and the veggies were nice and fresh. It came with like a spicy ranch dressing and it was so good. Will definitely be back for this again.

Amazing food! When you have a hankering for tacos, do yourself a favor and try this spot! Service is quick and attentive, all tacos and mulitas are made with freshly made tortillas. They also don't skimp on the protein on whatever you get and by the time you're finished grabbing the toppings from the free topping bar, your food will be ready. They also have vegetarian options so there's something for everyone to enjoy!

What can I say, Amazing mulitas haven't had better, I wish there were other locations thought.

I enjoy coming here the mulletas are great, there tortas are good as well. One thing you might want to ask them to cook your tortillas well because if they lightly cook them and you are taking food home they will fall apart. They provide outside seating covered shaded.

La Carreta is a great taco spot! All their meats are well done and keep you wanting more. I seriously need to stop myself from getting too many. They have home made tortillas that make the tacos so much better. They have a station with onion, cilantro, beans, radishes, and salsas. The salsas have so much flavor! I end up getting a little extra. You have to ask for the grilled onions and peppers. Yum! Aside from the tacos, I've tried the tortas and they are very well made. Again, a must try! Hope you try it and leave full and happy.

Been coming here for over 10 years. Great food and friendly staff. So glad they came out with the jr burrito, regular one is too much food for me. Adding both the red and green salsa on the tripa, just delicious!

Todo muy rico y fresco. Ordenamos Alambre de Carne Asada y otro de Camarón. Los dos estaban deliciosos, llenos de mucho sabor. Ordenamos agua de Tamarindo y Horchata las dos muy ricas. El lugar está grande, muchas mesas, patio para comer. Los precios súper razonables.

Very delicious. Tortillas are homemade and the salsas are bomb!!!! I got a mulita de asada super good love this place. You can sit inside or outside and the restaurant is very clean.

I love this place soo so much! I wanted to spend mother's day here at my favorite place. The food was great as usual. The burrito especial is A+ and so are the cabeza mulitas. All the staff is super awesome except for the cashier. For some reason this guy is always in a bad mood and has a horrible attitude. Oh well I hope he has a good day at least once. I'm still coming to my favorite restaurant!

One of the best taco places in Los Angeles. Authentic as you can get. Best part are the mulitas. 2 hand made corn tortillas and in between whatever meat of your choice. They even have shrimp and vegetarian options. Their flour quesadillas are pretty good too. Tacos are reasonably prices. They have a salsa bar with onions, cilantro, red and green salsa, limes, and fresh beans. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Parking from 12 PM to 1:30 PM is pretty packed. There is street parking but it's limited. They also offer frescas.

Good tacos are life. The decors are on point too! La Carreta is a gem that serves great tacos and all other sorts of deliciousness. Here's a place I hope never changes. They got some awesome tacos for cheap and even include fish and shrimp options, which are not as common in most taco places. If asada, pastor, lengua, etc. tacos aren't your thing then they also have burritos and breakfast burritos too. Honestly, what couldn't you get here? Just grab some good company, some cash (they do take credit card but have a $0.25-0.27 charge), and good food.

I have come to this place ever since they started from when it was a carreta and I've seen them grow their business and they maintain a good quality of food and great flavor all around. I love this place

My wife ordered to try them. Out the food is great but the service sucks I when to ask why they we're taking for ever finally they remember she placed in order saw the time in the receipt read 3:49 pm got the food 4:20

They aren't stingy with the meat!! Glad it's finally open like always expect to wait but also right now everyone and their mom are coming cause it's been so long so expect to wait longer than before. It's popular but now it's popular and reopened.

Been coming here since a kid (2004) and I must say the mulitas will always be my to-go! The hand made fresh tortillas are the best! Wish they sold them by the pack lol.

So I ran into this place on accident! I was recommended to go to La Corrina but instead I went to this place. I must say it was still a great experience. The staff wasn't sure if I spoke Spanish. But I called my order in Spanish so it was a little awkward to say the least. I ordered the chicken quesadillas and they were excellent! Along with that, I had a coffee. I was not very pleased with the coffee because it was weak and it just wasn't that great. The tortillas were made by hand and you could see that may come and then put them directly on the grill I love a homemade tortilla. The fresh miss of the cheese in the chicken in the bell pepper was a great combination, especially paired with their green sauce. Overall I definitely would come here again.

I love this place! I look for an excuse to go around la carreta so I can make a quick stop there. Food is delicious! My favorite are the asada mulitas and the horchata is good too.

Very disappointed, I placed a phone order. 2 min. After I called to add more items to my Order. The cashier didn't even let me finish explaining how I wanted the order when he hang up . I got there and those items were not even on the order and the order was all wrong!! First of all, customer service! That cashier wanna act like if he was the manager or the owner!!!

Amazing spot. Never lets me down. The mulitas are what keeps me coming back. Tortillas are hand made, salsas are delicious , and the place is extremely clean.
