Stopped by for the lunch on our first visit. The staff was very helpful and very welcoming. The food was amazing! Everything we had was fantastic, fresh and very flavorful. Highly recommend a stop here.

Google
Nice no frills Mexican restaurant with friendly service and great Mexican food! The pricing was super affordable and the quality of the food made it even better. This place was fairly busy for a Thursday afternoon so that’s a good sign too. Service was prompt and friendly. The ladies here are quite attentive and offered great menu suggestions. Came for the Mole Sauce and it did NOT disappoint so I’m glad I made that choice. Chips and salsa were flavorful and delicious too! Definitely check it out if you’re in the area!

Google
The staff here is incredibly kind. They recommended one of their margaritas and the chicken enchiladas with mole, both of which were delicious. The salsa they provided was very good. My only critique is that the chips weren't fresh and tasted slightly stale. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience, and I look forward to returning someday.

Google
I ate dinner here with a group of friends. We sampled several different dishes. Every dish was well prepared and tasty. The guac was very robust and left me wanting more. They did not have frozen margaritas. However, their strawberry margaritas did not disappoint. The shrimp tacos and chicken chimichanga are a must. The service was swift and friendly. They were very attentive. Top marks. The venue had an authentic ambiance with about a dozen tables. It is well kept and clean.

Google
This was our first time here. We were greeted with a friendly smile and seated immediately. Chips and salsa were delivered to the table. Ordered a half pitcher of original margaritas on the rocks with the guacamole. Delicious! I ordered the steak tacos and a side of beans and also the mole sauce. Absolutely amazing! Husband ordered the enchiladas which were very tasty. Definitely a neighborhood gem. Our waitress was very attentive. We will return!

Google
This is a very nice place for some great mole. OMG!!! Their mole is like Mexican chocolate sauce on a juicy chicken breast. I mean OMG for real. The beans and rice are good as well. We also had their chimichangas which were very large and tasty. The service was fine. To me . . . Their chips taste like really authentic tortilla chips like in Cancun. Their salsa was okay. In my opinion, it didn’t seem very flavorful. Oh well . . . Maybe I caught it in a “not so good” day. We had a wonderful lunch, and I will be going back for some more of that yummy mole.

Google
Great Mexican food Service is great as well

Google
I’m not going to lie, this is the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The rice was mushy, the beans were just not good, and the chicken had no flavor. I’m super simple from my order, clearly, all I got was two chicken tacos with just cheese which I don’t think you can mess up and I could only finish one. It was just not a good experience.

Yelp
Amazing authentic food and a wonderful experience for my whole family. Did make a boom boom in the bathroom afterwards though LOL!!

Yelp
Average...is being nice. I was unimpressed w/ the roll up looking enchilada, and the tacos shells had a stale corn taste and one was a pure crisp. Prices are decent w/ the 2 for $10 lunch specials, but I'm not satisfied on quality of the food. Maybe the dinner portion & quality is a better bet. I don't think I'll ever know.

Yelp
I stopped in for a lunch and to give them a first try! Recommended by friends, who know I'm an Al Pastor junkie, and they told me they gots the goods (fiendishly rubbing my hands together). I went for the lunch special: Taco and Chimichanga, and you know the meat choice. :) It started with chips and not one, not two, but THREE different salsas. The house salsa had a tinge of smoke to it. Maybe some chipotle as a component? It was a good all around topper. The salsa verde had a bit of sweetness to it. The darker of the three had the most heat, and that was my favorite. Maybe a milder Chili de Arbol?? The food came quickly and I ate it just as fast. The Al Pastor was more of a stew type version and not what I was used to/expecting. The rice and beans were standard. The chimi lacked some fried crunch and was more pillowy. In lieu, I give La Case De Alberto a 3.5+. The lunch was 10$ and not a bad deal in today's inflation. In this area, I still have to say Botanas has the Mexican lunch game down on LOCK!

Yelp
Great place - family owned - wonderful food and margaritas- terrific salsa - terrific staff

Yelp
When the husband suggested we go to La Casa De Alberto for dinner, I'll be honest I was hesitant, I had never heard of this restaurant and he was trying to tell me this was some of the best Mexican food in town. Well.... I'll say it once, he was right!! Don't judge a book by it's cover, not the nicest exterior but an authentic Mexican restaurant feel inside. When we arrived we were instantly greeted and chose to sit at two top table. After we sat and ordered our half pitcher of margaritas we discovered our table was wobbly. The waitress was so kind, she offered to switch us to another table or fix it - so next thing you know she's on her hands and knees fixing our table so we can enjoy our meal. Okay to the food. Our waitress suggested the mole enchiladas and so I took her up on it, even though I'm not normally a mole person (normally a red or green enchilada sauce girlie). All I can say is WOW!!!! The BEST mole I have ever had in my life. I scarfed down the first enchilada before my husband finished half of a taco, he looked at me and knew I was in heaven. He chose to have the pork and pineapple tacos which were also delish but the mole enchiladas were the winner entree of the night. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 We will be back again, and I will be suggesting this restaurant to my friends and family!

Yelp
Excellent food at a great price. The restaurant was very clean. And the service was fun and friendly.

Yelp
My buddy and I had a good Mexican dinner at La Casa De Alberto, a popular neighborhood restaurant. A mixed crowd of Gringos and Mexicanos were enjoying themselves, and Casa de Alberto is never empty. Petra took good care of us, as I inundated her with too many questions. The kitchen at La Casa produces the typical Mexican food but at a high level. There are no surprises, but everything tastes good and seems fresh. The space is clean, comfortable, and the crowd was enjoying a Mexican soccer match on the TV, adding an authentic touch to our experience. There is a large bar that's often difficult to find a seat. La Casa De Alberto is a good restaurant when you crave the familiar.

Yelp
I had the enchiladas mole and they were amazing! I saw this place had good reviews so I was excited to try it and it was so good! The guacamole was super fresh and chunky, just how I like it! We also tried some chicken enchiladas and they were amazing too! You could tell there were a lot of regulars there which is always a good sign and the service was great! One thing we didn't do which I would recommend is check the specials sign right when you walk in, had a lot of good options but we didn't realize it was there until too late

Yelp
Clearly beloved by locals, La Casa De Alberto dishes up solid, no-frills Mexican-American classics and seems to be a mainstay in Walker's Point. I was definitely charmed by the friendly service and homestyle flavors of their food! My friends and I decided to stop by for a quick dinner after several recommendations to check this place out, claiming that it is the best among the popular Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood. La Casa De Alberto is located on National just off of the busier areas of Walker's Point. On a Friday around 5:30, there was plenty of street parking to be found! The restaurant itself is pretty small inside- maybe about 10 tables or so, as well as a bar area, so definitely plan ahead if coming with a larger group or at a busy time. It has all the classic vibes that I would expect from this type of restaurant- many fond memories of sitting in chairs just like the ones here at Mexican restaurants growing up. There are several TVs which could make this a good place to catch a game while eating some delicious and hearty food. Speaking of the food, my friends and I had heard that the mole here is a must-try, so we all ordered mole enchiladas (I got mine with pork), [$14.50]. The hefty plate comes with three enchiladas topped generously with what seemed to be mole poblano. The mole was well-made with a good balance of sweetness and spice. The flavor was very addictive when mixed with the savory rice and beans on the side. The enchiladas themselves also had plenty of pork and cheese to go around. I think this is probably one of the better ones I've had in Milwaukee but I do wish it was a little more rich and flavorful! The portion seems good for a hungry eater, and should be more than enough for the less ravenous. I also had a mango margarita [$6.00] with a Tajin rim to round out the experience, which was a great pairing! The service was very friendly, and they stayed on top of refilling drinks and checking in on us. Our waitress was so sweet and welcoming! The food came out quickly, so we were finished in about an hour- but never felt rushed at all. I heard that this restaurant was opened by former Conejito's staff and the tea is apparently this place is much better... well, I was certainly satisfied with the food here! I will definitely be keeping this restaurant in mind for when I want a casual but satisfying dinner! By the way, the mole enchiladas make great leftovers. I was drooling all through the following morning thinking about them waiting for me in the work fridge :)

Yelp
An old favorite, and they still got it! We used to go here before 2020 and went again for the first time this past week. They delivered and we will be back. The food is delicious for such a reasonable price. The chips and salsa trio taste fresh. I did the a la carte, chicken tostada, Al pastor taco, rice and beans. Everything has great flavor. The staff was friendly and quick. The food was ready in record time. We were easily in and out within 30 min. The space is quaint but it's clean and they have various large TVs with sports games. I love that they have a TV in the back corner by the bar with a Spanish telenovela.

Yelp
Forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food but we love La Casa De Alberto! It is one of our go to places for quality and affordable food. We always get the guacamole and chips which is delicious. They have wonderful enchiladas as well. The environment is very welcoming and relaxed and the staff is always really nice. They have a great margarita pitcher as well. I highly recommend Las Casa De Alberto!

Yelp
I NEVER WANT TO STOP EATING THIS MOLE!!! I want to jump in to a vat of it and never come out. It is ridiculously good!!! The service we had both times we went was spectacular and definitely enhanced the visit. I truly never enjoyed mole until I had it here and now I can't stop eating it. Been there twice this week! They also have fun margaritas, like the passion fruit Margarita we had and I believe I also saw a tamarind Margarita on the menu. I also tend to judge Mexican restaurants on their chips and salsa and they passed with flying colors. Also! Usually I am not a fan of Mexican rice or beans but I absolutely loved theirs. I personally recommend dipping your chips in the refried beans. You're welcome. They have a good beer selection, and the music is pretty glorious. You never know if you are going to get reggaeton, bachata, banda... But it's a good vibe. It's a small spot so if you are coming with more than 4 people, call and make a reservation - they will be very accommodating! Their prices are so good, too, that I had to give 40% tip to our server because I thought 20% of that bill was too low a tip.

Yelp
Don't let the outside fool you: this Walkers Point joint serves some great Mexican grub. Started out with the complimentary chips and salsa: the green salsa was a hit! The tacos were solid, especially the tilapia and al pastor which had more of a pulled pork consistency which was surprising (in a good way). The steak taco was disappointing though, not much flavor and the meat looked gray and unappealing. The pork chimichanga was really good and came with a side of chipotle sauce that paired nicely. The mole enchilada was huge and packed a lot of flavor, and the rice was cooked just right and was tastier then you would normally expect. The place was bumpin on a Monday night. I guess the locals know where to go for some good ol Mexican and now you do too!

Yelp
After 30 years of going to Conajitos as a tradition I finally had to find another place worth spending my money at. As some employees now work here this will be it!! solid Mexican food!!
google avatar

Arjun M.

Yelp
My dad and I came here and ordered fajitas. They only brought one plate. We Asked for an extra empty plate.... They charged us $1 for the empty plate.... Never seen such petty crap from a restaurant ever in my life. Wow.

Yelp
We LOVE Mexican food, but this is not our cup of tea. The food lacked seasoning, and presentation could be improved. There are really great Mexican Food options in Milwaukee, and we will try a different restaurant next time.

Yelp
Wonderful Mexican food place in Milwaukee. La Casa De Alberto was recommended by a coworker who loves this place. His constant raving about it inspired our team to schedule a lunch and we had a great time. Food: Delicious. We were given 3 types of salsa with chips. My favorite was the mild; it had such an authentic fresh flavor. There was also a smokier salsa and a spicier salsa. We all had different foods. I ordered a taco, a tamale and the most delicious tres leches cake. The taco was decent but not the best i've had; the tamale was very tasty and one of the best I've tasted and the cake was amazing! My coworkers all enjoyed their dishes. The only thing I felt was missing was having horchata (which is such a staple) on their menu. Service: Service was amazing. The server handled our larger table (of 8) well and made sure to get us everything we needed. She was attentive and did a fantastic job. She kept the drink refills going as well as the chips (and they were warm too!) I would absolutely recommend La Casa de Alberto. Note: there is metered parking on the street (no lot).

Joel L.

Yelp
Service is always great. They have some of the best Mole enchiladas I've ever had. We love this place.

Yelp
We are out of towners who came here based on the great reviews. While this place is popular with locals, we found the food to be average at best, more like a 2.5. Good service, decent prices and sports turned on the tvs, but the food itself was subpar. - Michelada to drink: They pour the beer before bringing it to you, but the michi had too much mix (which was spicy), to the point I was tasting just mix and not any beer. First time ever I didn't finish a michi, because the mix just overpowered the taste. - Beef Enchiladas: There was hardly any sauce on them. I had to add hot sauce just to sauce it up. Rice and beans were bland. - Fajitas: Meat was ok, but the veggies were mostly onion. First time getting fajitas at a place where it didn't come with cheese, lettuce and sour cream with it. - Tostada: Chicken tasted bland and wasn't drained well, so was soggy. - Mole: The sauce tasted sort of bland, without the hints of rich bittersweet cocoa you like to taste in mole sauce.

Yelp
My wife and I had a wonderful lunch here yesterday. We both had one of the lunch specials: she had 2 pork tamales with rice and beans, and I had the pork in green sauce. Both were excellent. P.S., the bathrooms were SPOTLESS, always a good sign! Highly recommended.

Yelp
I went here based on the recommendation of a co-worker more familiar with Milwaukee than myself. So on a Thursday night, I wanted to get tacos or some Mexican food at a local place over something in the Third Ward. I got the Chicken Mole & my girlfriend got the Chicken Fajitas. All that plus a basket of chips & three great salsas for just $29. I really liked the Mole sauce & it was delicious. If I ever came here again I 100% would get the Chicken Fajitas. Wouldn't even need to look at the menu. They looked & tasted amazing. I think supporting the small restaurants is great & so glad my co-worker told me about it.

Yelp
Family run hole in the wall offering tacos, tamales, enchiladas, tostadas and more. The pork taco is my personal favorite and very flavorful. Service is quick and friendly. It is obvious this is a neighborhood favorite. The $10 lunch special is delicious and affordable. They also offer an array of tequilas. Will be returning.

Yelp
Sooooo good! Had the enchiladas with mole sauce and they were very authentic! The sauce is everything and it was delicious My friend had the tacos Al pastor with pineapple also legit What this place lacks in style and decor it makes up for in the flavor. Will definitely be back

Rachel R.

Yelp
Great food as always!!! This is such a great casual dining place - consistently great service
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Great place. The service was impeccable!! The cheesy shrimp enchiladas were delicious (if you like Mole, come here!!!!) and the house margarita was strong!! It's a small restaurant but the food is packed full of flavor. Oh! And you get three salsas!
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
This place is one of Milwaukee's best Mexican spots. If there is tinga on the menu, drop what you're doing and get it!
google avatar

Phillip W.

Yelp
As we bid a final farewell to Wisconsin, I just wanted to pay our respects. In the depressing food desert of Milwaukee -- that some online article recently and crazily rated as one of America's "foodiest" cities! -- La Casa De Alberto was the last place we were willing to spend our dining dollars. Muchas gracias, Alberto's. We'll miss you (but not much else about Milwaukee).
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
Goes in great and comes out easy! It's a two basket o chips joint and tell 'em to keep the margies coming!
google avatar

Liam B.

Yelp
My family came here after finding that Conejito's was closed for the night randomly (not unusual) and we were not disappointed! The interior is not flashy but that doesn't detract from the experience at all because the food and service are wonderful. Everyone had their fill and plenty of leftovers (including Margaritas) to take home. Will be back and recommend to anyone looking for good Mexican food in Milwaukee.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok it's time for a second review because I have lived in Milwaukee for more than a few years now and I have ate at lots of Mexican restaurants around town so I have better idea of what I like. I was going to get out of my comfort zone with Mexican food and get a dish that I wouldn't normally get so I ordered the Al pastor chimichanga dish with beans and rice with a margarita, when in Rome. I had no issues with the service and a nice basket of chips and salsa hit the table right away. I liked the three different salsas with one being a traditional style, one a slight hot salsa and one with mole flavor that we didn't care for. When our food hit the table I had to look close because I thought that they messed up and gave me a burrito, nope it's a monster chimichanga which was nice. The Al pastor chimichanga was very meaty to say the least and cheesey. The Al pastor meat was more like a stewed pork and not a flat grilled chard style which I liked. The rice was not traditional looking but it was good in its own way. The beans were also good with a nice thick smooth texture. This was very good and I'm so glad that I tried something different. Overall I have not had a bad meal here and the Al pastor chimichanga is such a great change because you don't usually see one on the menu.

Yelp
Wow super delicious and tasting Mexican food. Restaurant is super clean and staff was attentive and very friendly so will definitely come back here again next time we are in Milwaukee.

Yelp
Very friendly mom and pop place. Came by on a weekend pre pandemic. Solid food. Would recommend.

Yelp
Far more authentic, IM-somewhat-experienced-O, than the popular spot around the corner. This casa is also family run (or seems it), but you feel like you're sitting in their home. Great value and the salsa trio that comes with the chips is as surprising as it is unique. Fabulous staples and specials alike. Casual, fun, and intimate. Super al pastor tacos. I love this place, but it's hardly a secret any more, so come early or, for a big party, call ahead. The staff is super friendly and eager to please. My go-to for a Corona (or two) after work and dinner with the kids (they love the gum ball machine). Give these nice folks a shot. You won't regret it!

Abso F.

Yelp
Always super friendly and delicious food. This is one of my favorite spots. The ground beef tacos have chunks of potato, which is so delicious!
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Great lunch on a summer afternoon. My wife and I stopped in and were quickly seated and got in our drink orders-Tecate beer and a tasty margarita - both reasonably priced. I ordered 2 chicken tostadas - I didn't think I had an ample appetite for 3 and I was right - two were enough for me! They were the best I've had since I was a kid (about 45 years ago!) when we had an authentic Mexican restaurant where I lived. Great white cheese and tasty chicken on a crisp tortilla. My wife had one chicken enchilada with side orders of rice and beans. All were very good! Chips and salsa come with three salsas - all of which were good, although the green verde was my favorite, followed by the 'traditional' red. Our server was attentive and pleasant, and checked in on us regularly. Will be back next time we're in town!
google avatar

Ophelia M.

Yelp
La Casa De Alberto is one of my go-to Mexican spots in Milwaukee. It's a casual spot offering superlative Mexican eats. What I love: The guac. Each and every time. If you don't care for tomato, they do put tomato in their guacamole, so something to note. Personally, I love it. I often order dishes with chicken and their chicken is wonderfully marinated, flavorful deliciousness. Margaritas! Like your margaritas made standard with mixer? They can do that. Want top shelf tequila? They can do that. Like a purist margarita made with fresh lime? They can most definitely do that. The dining room is super casual and the service is always wonderful. If you're looking for a place with beautiful ambiance, this isn't necessarily your spot. But, if you're looking for a hole-in-the-wall that serves kickin' Mexican eats, you've found it. Get to it!

Yelp
Chicken Mole Enchiladas and margaritas... delicious. Even let us take the margaritas to go
google avatar

Mary B.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch today. Had Enchiladas with Mole sauce, shredded chicken. One of the best I've ever had. Leftovers for dinner tonight. Fully loaded guacamole dip was top notch, fresh as can be. Was there with a friend who's been there a couple of other times. Definitely recommend. Hope to make it back some day.

Samantha R.

Yelp
Great Mexican place. I'm always pleased by the amount and quality of food for such reasonable prices. I think the most expensive entree on the menu is $13. And it's always filling and flavorful. I go sometimes on weekdays after work when I'm craving real Mexican food. The first thing I had to try is the chicken mole. It's not on the menu everywhere, and every establishment does it a little bit differently. I got it with dark meat chicken because that's the best part of chicken. The mole was dark and a little sweet and very messy to eat but delicious. I had a steak taco too though the mole was plenty. I've been back and also tried a tinga special and the shrimp a la diabla. I wouldn't say I have a favorite dish, everything's been good. It's probably a good idea to get something from the specials board though, to try something new and because it might not be available every day. That tinga was awesome. I haven't tried the margaritas, but I often see crowds enjoying them. La Casa de Alberto would be a good place to go with a group of friends or coworkers. Service has always been friendly but not hovering. Great place.
google avatar

Claudia R.

Yelp
I ate some great food here last night! Two fish tacos with sides of rice and beans was a decently sized portion that left me feeling comfortably full. Our server was attentive but we did feel a bit rushed to order and finish eating. I'd come back!

Yelp
Delicious Best in MKE Everything from the beans to the meat to salads have a "grandmother made" feel

Gary S.

Yelp
This is the first time that my wife came to the restaurant, and she was somewhat skeptical beforehand but once we sat down, the service was impeccable, and the food was sensational, highly recommend it
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
A-mazing margaritas! We got ours on the rocks and were not disappointed! They're pretty strong, yet go down sooooo easily, which is dangerous. We went in for an early dinner, with a big group, but we didn't have to wait. They add an 18% to groups 6 or more, which I'm surprised isn't 20%. That's what we generally tip. Anyway, food was really good. Our whole group ordered an array of things and everyone housed their food. I got the steak fajitas, very yum. Guacamole was good, but could have used more seasoning. The service was prompt and friendly.
google avatar

Frank D.

Yelp
Low key, friendly neighborhood Mexican bar/restaurant. The chips you get when you arrive are seasoned in a way different ( and better!) than most other places. Was disappointed they didn't have queso, but the pico was great. I recommend the poblano pepper entree, picture attached. Service was friendly and price was reasonable.

Patricia T.

Yelp
I love the food couldn't wait to get home from florida first place I went to. Nothing that good in florida
google avatar

Yelp
The overall best Mexican food restaurant in Milwaukee. Located on 7th & National in a small storefront, the top shelf margaritas, guacamole, chicken mole, shrimp in chipotle cream sauce, and any of the tacos are incredible! Service is always friendly and efficient. Worth stopping in for a visit to see for yourself.
google avatar

Yelp
This Mexican restaurant is clean and the food is amazing. They follow all Covid 19 precautions very seriously. The wait staff is extremely friendly they have chips and 3 types of salsa on the table. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with green sauce it was amazing and their guacamole is so very fresh. Their margaritas are amazing also. I highly recommend this restaurant abd have been back twice.
google avatar

Augie R.

Yelp
Nice, tasty, casual place for affordable Mexican. The dining room is attractive but no-frills, the service is friendly, and the food is good. The restaurant was opened by former employees of Conejitos, and I think it improves upon the former's food (although I have to admit I was never a fan and haven't been back to Conejito's in over a decade.) The menu offers the expected mix of Mexican specialties at reasonable prices. Serving sizes are generous. We didn't love the guacamole, which we felt had a much-too-strong taste of lime. But other than that, our dinner selections were all good. The place is small and very clean, and the service is friendly. La Casa De Alberto is a great option for affordable dining in Milwaukee's near south side.

Kerri J.

Yelp
Excellent food & service! Love the bean dip and guacamole. Great margaritas. Don"t miss out!

Yelp
Stumbled across this place when I was jonesing for Mexican food and went to my beloved YELP app. La Case de Alberto had great reviews, so we gave it a whirl. We parked on the street but I am told if you drive down the alley just to the right of the restaurant, there is a parking lot behind the building next door. It doesn't scream Mexican Restaurant from the outside but it is some of the best Mexican food inside! We were greeted by a very friendly hostess when we walked inside and seated right away. The place is small so tables are very close together. The teenager was in heaven when they brought him chips and salsa! The salsa was so fresh and blended perfectly...not too spicy but just enough kick! I ordered the chimichanga and the boys ordered quesadillas. The food came out fast and hot....and delicious! My chimichanga was HUMUNGOUS! I couldn't eat it all so I took it home for lunch the next day. As much as I loved my food I have to say the boys quesadillas were probably the best I have ever tasted. When the teenager can't finish a meal you know the portions are big! Their prices were very reasonable...all 3 of ate had drinks for 27.00 (that includes a beer).....that is a deal! It is a family run business which I love and they seem to have a great local crowd. We will definitely make this one of our stops...the teenager is already asking to return.
