Listen, you're 90% there, this is the restaurant you are looking for. My wife and I have been coming here for several years. We always land on the hard shell tacos and some house margaritas. 101/10 delicious Mexican food with hard to beat pricing. There new queso is an absolute appetizer add on, the regular chips is still a classic winner. You won't be disappointed amigos 🤙🏽

Google
Server could have been more attentive to refilling beverages. The quesadilla was not worth the price. The fajitas on the other hand were delicious. The portions were very generous and great value. Atmosphere was very pleasant.

Google
A very good find for delicious Mexican cuisine. The tamales plate was very good, so were the enchiladas. We had a pleasant server but our drinks were not refilled without asking. The chips and salsa were tasty, we asked for more of both and they were quickly brought out. Portions were sufficient and reasonably priced. I did order a frozen strawberry margarita which was very good, but as I considering ordering a second one, found out they were over $11/drink. Not worth the price. I will recommend this restaurant and would go back if I was in the area.

Absolutely loved this place! The veggie enchiladas were out of this world—so flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. You can tell they put real care into their food. The house-made margaritas were just as impressive—perfectly balanced and super refreshing. Big shout-out to Jamilet, our server—she was so friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Great food, great drinks, and genuinely great service. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
This was a difficult review to leave because they had a number of good qualities but also some I disliked quite a bit. The place had a very welcoming atmosphere, and my party and I were sat down quickly. Some of the items we ordered were packed with flavor, but others, on the other hand, fell a bit bland. The salsa for the chips tasted so much like cumin I couldn't really enjoy the other flavors as much. The molcajete sauce/salsa was, however, well done and packed with flavor. My biggest gripes however was the beans. Those things tasted canned and not like a subtle flavor. It was a punch in the face flavor. Now the nitpicking part was they used shredded cheese instead of a crumble cheese. That is more of a tex-mex thing not authentic mexican.

Google
This place is a gem! The food is delicious and prices are great for portions and quality. The atmosphere is beautiful. I actually picked this place because they had albondigas which is a meatball soup. They also have a vegetarian menu and can accommodate vegan. I’m glad I went. Recommend for sure

We’ve been coming to Casa de Juana for years and have never been disappointed! The food is fresh and always delicious, and the place is spotless. We enjoy the Chile Rellenos, Shrimp Diablo and Chicken Enchiladas, and The Monster Burrito is enough to feed three people. Unlike other Mexican restaurants, the refried beans are not greasy or heavy. Their guacamole is out of this world — chunky and full of fresh ingredients. The restaurant is filled with beautiful Mexican painted murals and furniture, which gives it a festive art-filled vibe. The servers are always friendly and attentive. We’re so glad they’re nearby so we can enjoy the best Mexican food in the Valley of the Sun!

The wife and I popped in after a movie next door. Adorable place! Service was prompt and friendly. The prices were crazy good. We didn't have cocktails and weren't expecting soooo much food for what we paid. We had to take half of it home. There were a few tiny criticisms on the food: I ordered fish tacos, fried but got grilled. No biggie, they were good. They had a crema sauce but could've used a but more but again, no biggie. I'll know to ask next time. My wife got enchiladas, one of each and mentioned the beef was a bit dry, but overall everything was quite good. There was nothing to turn us away just an experience where we know how best to order next time. Our server was great. There was only one other table when we arrived, then she got super busy within about 20 minutes. I'd definitely recommend.

Yelp
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. It's small, but it is beautifully and colorfully decorated. There is an actual bar you can sit at and some evenings there's live music. We always have wonderful service as well. Everything we order there is delicious, including their rice - - and I am the pickiest person when it comes to rice! My favorite thing to order is the Mexican pizza with carnitas. The rest of the family got various items and everyone was happy with their food. They have happy hour everyday including weekends, but their cocktails are reasonably priced even when it's not happy hour. We have been coming to La Casa de Juana for several years and we will continue to come back for several more.

Yelp
Hubby & I had dinner here tonight for the first & last time! We got there a little after 5:00. We were greeted & seated right away. The girl who seated us was also our server. She took our drink order. As usual hubby ordered Dos Equis. I ordered Sangria & water. She brought us chips & salsa quickly. The chips were good, but we didn't care for the salsa. It was like no other salsa we've had. It had a spice in it that neither one of us could place. Whatever it is, we didn't like it. Our server came back & said she was out of the Dos Equis, but had the Amber one. So hubby got that. We were right by the bar so we could see & hear her. She acted like she didn't know how to make a sangria. Then she came back & said she was out of sangria. I asked if she had Titos & cranberry juice. She didn't seem to understand, but the other server did. Since we didn't like the salsa we ordered the queso dip. I wish we hadn't. It tasted like only cream cheese. It had something that was too spicy in it for me. It was $9.95 for the bowl & not good. Hubby ordered the pastor burrito big. He loves pastor burritos. He said it was okay. He said pastor is so good and so flavorful if it's done right or even half way done well. He said it was half assed at best. He said it didn't taste like it had been cooked for hours in the sauce. He said it tasted like in was done in a skillet. The burrito was huge. My chicken fajitas were on a super hot skillet. The rice & beans were cold. I ordered no peppers. The onions are red onions. I've never gotten red onions in my fajitas. I didn't care for them. The rice didn't look like rice we normally get. It wasn't good. Service was not very good. They didn't have our drinks & the only food we liked was the chips. We will not be back.

Yelp
Real Mexican at fair prices. Can't understand why it's not completely packed all the time. Still great food at competitive prices

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday lunch here. It was yummy! The drinks were good. Service was okay. The food was tasteful. I especially loved the decorations especially after our recent trip to Mexico! Ordered a tamale plate with double rice no beans and a cup or albondigas.. the tamale order came out with beans and loaded with cheese. It was not labeled on the menu it would have cheese. I had to let them know of my allergies and return it. My bf ordered the Bacon wrapped shrimp Plate and loved it. Drinks were flavorful. U ordered a Carta Blanca Michelada and he ordered a Cadillac Margarita.

Yelp
Jamilet M was fabulous she made me feel so welcome and took care of everything I needed and gave me a discount on a drink! She was absolutely amazing I will def be back!

Yelp
Delicious food, cold beer, and excellent customer service. We also liked the authentic decor and welcoming vibe.

Yelp
The server was friendly and took the time to explain the daily specials. I ordered the Carne Asada street tacos, which were very flavorful. There is a full bar in the restaurant, and they also have happy hour specials. I definitely would be back since my fiance loves Mexican food

Yelp
I've been coming here for quite some time. Love the casual yet brightness of this restaurant. Tonight I ordered a taco salad, with grilled chicken. I was disappointed, as the shell tasted very old and oily and I was given such a tiny bit of salad dressing. I would not recommend their taco salad, but my sisters chimichanga looks delightful.

Yelp
My mom and I tried this place for the first time. It was great. The atmosphere was very nice. It's like Mexico puked all decor in there but fun!! I had the sopes and my mom tried the queso birria tacos for good! Just way too much lettuce on my sopes. He server I don't remember her name it might be Mariela (i think, at least that's what the receipt says) was awesome very nice and patient.

Yelp
Get the Mexican pizza is enough for two to share at Great price and good margaritas. As someone who lived in Mexico City this is a good spot

Yelp
Went during happy hour and sat at the bar. The bar was small but quite comfortable. The service, chips & salsa, and happy hour margaritas were great. After asking what food they had for happy hour (guacamole, nachos or cheese quesadilla), we decided on the nachos. They came quickly and the toppings were delicious. However, the chips are not the same as we had with the salsa. Instead, they were a round Tostitos type of chip which was disappointing. Next we decided to try the queso fundido. This is not a creamy melted cheese blend, but rather cheese that has been melted. So as it cools, it basically had to be cut into pieces. We wanted to love this place so we might try it again but order something different.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
We went because it's a fun atmosphere and the food was good. This time the food was soso. The cheese queso came out cold and not melted. They took it back but it came back cold and was not very good. The shrimp in the tacos were good but there was a bitter flavor maybe from the cabbage. They did make the kids a Pins Colada and a Strawberry Daiquiri. That was nice. Service could have been better. They never came to ask if we wanted refills on our drinks. It was a big birthday celebration. They did bring 2 churros that were very hard. We drove from South Chandler. Where do we go for good Mexican food now?

Yelp
That was a great surprise of a place because from the outside it just looks very unassuming but step inside and aye Caramba ! Very Colorful decor, friendly staff, great food prepared fresh. They greet you and sit you as soon as you walk in, the order is prepared fresh but arrives pretty fast. It is excellent Mexican food (especially their fajitas) and their Happy Hour Margaritas are gigantic. The only star missing is because we went on a weekend once and the fajita was not as fresh and good as usual (dry chicken, almost raw vegs, almost felt reheated) but hopefully that was just a one time letdown...

Jana K.

Yelp
We loved the food. Service hot and sooo tasty! Great service. Multiple servers checked on us throughout our dinner. We love our happy hour Margs! We will make the drive for you! But please come to the West Valley!!

Yelp
Really enjoyed that atmosphere super fun was clean and nice very well. Done for a Mexican restaurant. Great for a date or with friends or family, service was good.

Yelp
It's been several months since our last visit, and one bite in, realized we missed the authentic, homemade flavor. The food is exceptional. Service is great. I recall it can get busy at times, which requires some patience, but today was perfect pace. The place is decorated with a fun splash of Mexican culture, and the music is classic. Highly recommend trying - I think you'll become a fast fan.

Yelp
We have been coming to Juana's for several years. It is our favorite Mexican Restaurant. We have enchiladas or burritos. Recently we discovered the Mexican pizza with carnitas or chicken. Margaritas are delicious. We usually eat too many of the chips and salsa before the main meal ! Flan if you have room! We often bring out of town guests to experience this brightly decorated intimate restaurant! Great service!
google avatar

Mia N.

Yelp
Appreciate that this place is kid friendly! They have good kids meals that come with either taco, burrito, or quesadilla and a side of rice and beans and a churro for dessert. They also have happy hour specials from 3-6 pm. For my entree I got the three street tacos that came with a side of rice and beans and a bit of guacamole too. Everything tasted good and the cost was right too!

Yelp
Today myself and my husband went for lunch and found this little hidden gem by accident. The service was amazing and the food was even better! I am not a huge fan of Mexican food fan, since I don't ear meat, but they had so many vegetarian options !! Thank YOU ! The Cadillac Margarita was great and the beer came with a ice cold mug, which is my husbands favorite ! The cream jalapeño sauce is a MUST! I am definitely going back soon ! Happy hour is 2-6 they said ;) Finished off with some fried ice cream - Perfection!

Yelp
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant! The decor is festive and colorful, and the service is friendly. The food is fantastic! On some nights there is live music--the musician there in our most recent visit was excellent.
google avatar

Ariana M.

Yelp
Yummy Mexican spot we just tried for the first time tonight. We would definitely come back when we're in the area! The only thing we didn't like was the up charge for a creamy jalepeno sauce for $3 on one enchilada.

Yelp
A couple of hiccups on orders but they quickly rectified the error. Great atmosphere and great food.

Yelp
Really great spot for lunch. Not too busy, but very nice lunch. Food was great and salsa tasted fresh. Quiet place to grab a bite of your in the neighborhood

Yelp
I live close to La Casa but never visited it until last night. Los Sombreros has been my go to casual Mexican restaurant for a long time, and although La Casa is a different style of Mexican restaurant, it was darn good. The guacamole appetizer was so good with the mango and cheese adding an interesting texture and flavor. I had the chipotle chicken which was smoky and tender and delicious. My wife had a combo plate which was also really good. The space was comfortable and cleaned and the prices were very reasonable. My only gripe, our server was quick with the drinks and appetizer, but took a long time to take our dinner order. Other than that one blip, the service was good. We will be back again!

Yelp
Ordering: Our experience with La Casa de Juana did not start well. We placed our order online through their website. About 10 minutes later Bf received an email that the restaurant had not picked up the order and to give the restaurant a call. Well Bf tried; the line kept ringing. Finally he called a different number which was the Ahwatukee location and they took several minutes to confirm the order had been received at the Tempe location and that it would be another 15-20 minutes. By this point it'd been 30 minutes since we placed our online order. When Bf finally made it home from picking up the order he informed me that they had cancelled the order when he got there and he had to pay again. The order was not ready in the allotted time frame as it takes about 10 minutes to drive there. Food: Large pork Mexican pizza ($10.95): They were not joking about the size; it was packaged in a large pizza box! The Mexican pizza was a thinly layered pizza of beans, cheese, pork, pico, cucumbers, guacamole, and sour cream. A unique appetizer and generous portion. Beef taco salad ($10.95): The taco bowl was crisp and light. I was not expecting shredded beef but it was good. I didn't receive the dressing I ordered (chipotle ranch). Veggies were basic but fresh. Ribeye quesadilla ($11.95): The quesadillas start at $5.95. Ribeye was an extra $6! While the quesadilla was large and the bits with ribeye were rich and savory, the problem was the ribeye/cheese portion; definitely scarce with the ribeye, especially for the extra $6! Overall I would rate La Casa de Juana as average. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again; there was many better options.

Yelp
Cilantro cream chicken never disappoints! Great service and authentic atmosphere; nice place to stop in for lunch or dinner

Sandra T.

Yelp
Food and atmosphere is always good but service is always poor. It would be helpful if they added a hostess and bartender, at least for dinner hours.

Bill K.

Yelp
This is a nice place to be, with very friendly servers, reasonable prices, and some good food. The decor is simply amazing. My wife had the carne asada salad, she loved it. Another had the chicken chimichanga and enjoyed it. I opted for the chicken mole which came with two cutlets (a decent amount, but not a lot of meat). Mole is either very good, or very bad. There's no in-between. This wasn't very good. But worse, the chicken was very rubbery. It actually made a noise when chewed. It was quite awful. At first I said we'd never go back (there are lots of really good places where we know we'll have a good meal with good service). Maybe we will. I can tell you that the texture of the chicken was so bad that I was upset about it for hours. I was grossed out, but felt I had to eat it. But I can say, my wife's salad was really good, and I think the chimi was really good, but the diner couldn't appreciate it. This place has one of the coolest decors of any restaurant I've ever been to. We took pictures using it, and so did other diners during our visit.

Yelp
Love this place! So glad we took a chance on it. It's in a strip mall. The mall right now is decorated in MAX Christmas lights! Made us feel very festive. It's quite a small space, only 20 tables or so. Live music on weekends, it was loud, but not annoyingly so. Very family oriented. The husband got the 3 cheese enchiladas in red sauce. He is an enchilada aficionado, and cheese enchiladas are his go to. He was very happy. I got the chile rellano chimichanga. Saw it on other reviews and decided to take a chance. Wow!!! Crispy tortilla wrapped around a poblano pepper oozing Oaxaca cheese (its like a melty mozzarella) with oh so savory shredded beef and topped with a creamy white jalepeno sauce! Delicious!!! Also had a cheese crisp to start which was very crispy and perfectly melted cheese, although not the most flavorful one we've had, was still good. Chips were ok, salsa has great fresh flavor. Entrees were so good it made us forgive the fact that the plates were not hot and rice and beans were almost cold. Beans had good flavor, but they do not use lard, only vegetable oils. Rice looked great, but not a ton of flavor. Service was very prompt and friendly. It was fun to watch the family next to us that had several kids dancing in the almost non-existant lobby to the live music. Prices were very reasonable. I didn't try the margaritas, but they looked great. Overall great experience! We will definitely come back!!!

Yelp
This restaurant is located in a very unassuming strip mall. Once you enter the place though, it is bright and colorful with Mexican decor. I have not been in a place this decorated in a long time. It is like if you took every Mexican decor you could think of and barfed it all over the place, it would look like this in the most charming way possible. I have not had Mexican in a while and usually go to taquerias if I do so I was looking forward to this. I started with a margarita on the rocks and it was fine. Not really very strong. I ordered the pastor burrito as it is my favorite meat and I honestly would say that it tasted nothing like any pastor I have previously had but it was edible at least. The rice is a different kind of rice. It's green and I assume it is cilantro rice. All in all, I don't think I would come back given the number of much better Mexican options here in the Phoenix area and almost on every street. But if you are nearby like we were and wanted something close and easy then this is a good option. I just wish the food were better. Service was good.
google avatar

Christina P.

Yelp
Loved this place! Great food, lots of options. Service was good, they didn't check on us but I also didn't mind that. Never got drink refills, but we were fine (some may care about this). Loved the quieter ambiance! Super cute decor.

Melissa J.

Yelp
Great food. I had the veggie burrito and I couldn't event eat half of it, took the rest home for lunch the next day. So delicious!!
google avatar

Michael J.

Yelp
From the other reviews, I thought it would be better. The food was OK. The service wasn't great. Coming from Colorado to Phoenix. I have to tell you I expected more in a Mexican food restaurant.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
OK, I was in ecstasy after eating here the day after Christmas. We just happened to be in the area and I love Mexican food more than I loved my ex-husband before our divorce so my boyfriend and I came in for an early dinner and we were both amazed over how adorable the restaurant was decorated it was like eating at a small restaurant in Mexico beautifully decorated. Our server was super friendly and attentive when it came to checking if we needed anything. Now to the crazy good food ever since I was a little girl growing up in Los Angeles I can always remember loving tamales I can eat the things for breakfast, lunch or dinner and since I moved here to Phoenix it's been super hard to find amazing tamales until I came here. It was a no brainer to order the beef tamale combo with red sauce the masa was super moist not hard at all and the beef was very juicy and tender it was amazing a must order item when eating here and since it was a two item combo my 2nd choice was a Chile Relleno and that was also cooked to perfection with a good cheese to Chile inside. The dish came with your traditional refried beans and rice that were good. My boyfriend and I both love civiche so we split a shrimp civiche tostada and he ordered the chicken tortilla soup I had a few bites of it and it was really yummy. Nice bite size pieces of veggies, tender shredded chicken, slices of avocado and some freshly made tostada chip strips to give it a nice crunch. I can go on for hours about how good the food is here and if you're from L.A. and having a hard time finding real Authentic Mexican food and you're now living here in Phoenix make the drive to Tempe and from what I saw they do serve alcohol so I highly recommend eating here.

Yelp
Don't let the strip mall fool ya!!!! In my neighborhood, this is one of the top Mexican food places that we frequently visit as the strip has quite a few good spots. We've had the enchiladas, tacos, burros, you name it and still return pretty frequently. Yes, we typically come as we get the fliers in the mail to save on the entree's but still find ourselves trying other things in addition to saving money. The margaritas are solid and the fresh chips and salsa that come to the table are good. Feel free to ask for another salsa upfront but they'll keep you refilled with ease. Side of guacamole to go with is good, but depending on what you order, you can just wait as you may have some guac with your entree. When you come, try and get an actual table (and admire the artwork). The booths are comfy but the last 2 times I came, I had someone on the other side of my booth chair figidity like crazy and I had to get up and say something to them. (Because they are connected)... then again, I have a bit of OCD but it annoyed the crap out of me... It didn't take away from my meal but a helpful tip.

PJ D.

Yelp
Food is authentic. Service is very familial. Prices are reasonable. Ambiance is welcoming and cozy. We enjoy going there
google avatar

Tom A.

Yelp
Food was good they lacked in service some had to ask for water refills and salsa. We will definitely go back but it's not really in our area. Don't be afraid to try it based on that.

Susie M.

Yelp
Stepped in to order take-out on a Sunday night. No one greeted me except a huge sign, "Please Wait"...so you wait and you wait and you wait. They are so short handed; they need at least one more server-person on the floor. What they make the one gal do is criminal. After waiting, I ordered and waited outside. It was too crowded to even want to stand in the front. Disappointed no chips or salsa???? Huh? oh, another five bucks if you want that to go. The food was mediocre and very dry, with little green sauce; not sure about what kind of cheese, if it is real cheese or packaged shredded. It might be higher rating if I sat inside, got chips and salsa, and if the enchilada was hot and steamy, smothered in sauce...but, it fell short of acceptable tonight. I might come back for Albondiga soup this week, as that is my favorite. Hard to understand why a restaurant doesn't have enough wait staff.

Nelly L.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Mexican food I recommend going elsewhere. Good service the waitress was friendly and brought out 4 meals fast.
google avatar

Esmerelda V.

Yelp
The horchata was delicious! I also had a Chile Relleno Chimichanga with extra jalapeño sauce, not pictured, delightfully flavorful and not too spicy. Great customer service. Will be going back

Stella J.

Yelp
Now this is my opinion. Everyone has a different taste for different food. I just did not care for this. So if it sounds good to you go give it a try. Might end up being a fav of yours. Mine not so much. Staff was friendly.
google avatar

Merary B.

Yelp
Me and my partner waited to be seated for 10 minutes so we decided to leave because it seemed like they were overwhelmed on a Monday night. When we entered our car a couple came in and there were seated seconds after arriving. Anyway, I won't return to this place again.
google avatar

Shawna B.

Yelp
Went here during a break between a double feature at the nearby theater. We literally had 40 minutes to walk there, eat and get back. No problem! The service was excellent and efficient, the food was good, good prices and plenty to eat! I got the stuffed jalapeños which I really enjoyed, my husband got the beef enchiladas that were also quite tasty. The house margarita was pretty good too.

Demerie E.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our dinner and margaritas! Great spot with excellent and attentive service!
google avatar

Andrew G.

Yelp
Happy Hour and decent beer selection. Get the guacamole and chips to stay healthy. Good salsa too.

Penny L.

Yelp
Nice shopping center, and nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. The server was really nice when we went in December. I had the shrimp fajitas. My only complaint on the shrimp is that they left the tails on. The rice and beans were just average. Yes, I'd go back and try other things on their menu.

Cullen M.

Yelp
Father in law is angry he had to share his fried ice cream! We will be back for his birthday to get his own!

Yelp
Decent neighborhood Mexican food. Like how Starbucks used to be, the to-go orders often get something wrong - i.e. a missing side. Last night our order was 100% so maybe they're on top of their game now. If you live nearby, they occasionally send coupons and have some daily specials. Also, yummy tortilla chips and salsa at the table to gorge yourself on if eating in the restaurant. I've been here and orders takeout many times. Just tried the taco skillet and it was very tasty. I think it is new to their menu. I have also gotten their cilantro cream chicken more than twice. Located in a shopping center with other well-rated neighborhood favorite restaurants, Juana's doesn't disappoint.

Yelp
Casa DE Juana was great!!! Service was excellent and the food was too. My husband ordered Chimichanga it was huge a day delicious. I ordered fajitas and the fajitas were sizzling and also delicious.
