La Casa De Las Baleadas - Review - Little Havana - Miami - The Infatuation

"For a masa-heavy meal that’ll make you drowsy, go to La Casa De Las Baleadas. The blue-and-white Honduran restaurant in Little Havana makes nine different versions of baleadas. Our favorite is the accurately-named “supermega” baleada. It comes with chicken, carne asada, refried beans, crema, cheese, and scrambled eggs. It’s the size of an NFL linebacker’s calf and only $11. Every baleada here comes on a flour tortilla that’s thin but sturdy enough to hold all of the ingredients together. They also make excellent chicharron and cheese pupusas. photo credit: CLEVELAND JENNINGS / @EATTHECANVASLLC" - Mariana Trabanino

Adelita’s Cafe Review - Little Haiti - Miami - The Infatuation

"Adelita’s is a great Honduran restaurant in Little Haiti that works for takeout or a casual dinner. We loved everything we tried here, which includes the pupusa de chicharron y quesillo and chicken tacos, which came crispy and rolled up into little cigar shapes. But, whatever you order, don’t skip the baleadas. The baleada con pollo comes with chicken, refried beans, and sour cream folded inside a thick flour tortilla." - Ryan Pfeffer

My visit to La Casa de Las Baleadas was an absolute delight, providing an authentic taste of Honduras right here! From the moment I walked in, the vibrant atmosphere immediately transported me. This restaurant truly excels in delivering genuine Central American flavors, and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food. The highlight for me was undoubtedly the MEGABALEADA – whether chicken or beef, it was incredibly good and tasted wonderfully fresh. I also savored the pupusas, which were perfectly prepared. To complement the delicious food, I enjoyed their fresh juices and a superb café con leche, both of which were excellent and added to the authentic experience. It's clear that the cooks here put immense care into every dish, ensuring everything is on point and made with passion. Beyond the fantastic food, the service was commendable. The staff were attentive and contributed to a very pleasant dining experience. It's a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the culture and enjoy a meal that feels both authentic and comforting. La Casa de Las Baleadas is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Honduran cuisine. I highly recommend it for its outstanding food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to try more of their amazing offerings!

Google
Everything is good and good service the food is amazing I think is the best valiada in the area the only problem with this restaurant is they are charging you a double tips . You have to check really good your first ticket and then your second ticket . Because the first ticket include obligatory 15% and then the second ticket come with the final payment with the tips include before included in the first ticket . And then when do you say what you going to sign your payment you have the option for 15% through 20% and the second ticket the final payment if you don't know the tips is included they going to charge you double tip. Life happened to me in this last visit in the restaurant they charged me 15% + 20%

Food is not great, prices are so-so. Lack of service and definitely stay away from the “Horchata” not sure what is is but definitely not horchata even after just taking one sip and confronting them about it I was told is a powder drink and they still charge me the $5. They charge a 15% service fee regardless of order, charge a homeless fee and an extra dollar to pay with credit card. Stay away from this place.

Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning with my husband. We ordered cafe con leche and a tostada to start. Cafe con leche was cold and the tostada was forgotten. The waitress forgot to bring the juices and the pupusa. In fact never came back to check on us. The food we got was great so happy with the cooks but the service is terrible. The worst part however was the bill. They gave us two separate bills with things we didn’t order. I left enough to cover my food and the two taxes plus tip so I recommend take notes of your order against the menu and then review the bill. The waitress blamed the kitchen staff for not bringing my food? Kitchen staff is the only good aspect of this restaurant as the food is really good and authentic. I had an enchilada and my husband had huevos rancheros with carne asada. Waitress never apologized for anything and honestly I don’t think she cared.

Google
Everything was great until the bill came. The bill was more then what I ordered, when I checked the menu the prices on the check did not match the prices on the menu. When I brough it up with the waitress she said the manager said they can not change the menu everytime prices go up. They are charging $6-10 more on items. Please make sure you ask for actual price and check your checks.

Google
A friend recommended me this place for their popular baleadas, yet to my surprise when I arrived at the location the lack of hygiene was evident, specially when I was about to pay I noticed several roaches around the bar and between the tables, I immediately let the staff know and they just looked at the pest situation as a normal matter and laughed about it, completely unacceptable!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!

La Casa de Las Baleadas may not boast the waterfront opulence of Miami’s fine dining scene, but true connoisseurs of culinary excellence know that luxury isn’t always about chandeliers and white tablecloths—it’s about authenticity, flavor, and an experience money simply can’t replicate. Tucked away in an unassuming locale, this Honduran gem serves the finest baleadas I’ve encountered outside of Tegucigalpa. The handmade tortillas, soft yet resilient, cradle a perfect blend of beans, crema, and cheese, though I highly recommend indulging in the fully loaded version with eggs, avocado, and tender carne asada. The flavors are bold, unpretentious, and masterfully executed—a testament to the kind of authenticity that Michelin inspectors often overlook. Service is warm, the atmosphere lively, and the satisfaction? Immeasurable. True wealth is knowing where to find the best food, and this, my friends, is a hidden treasure in Miami’s vibrant culinary landscape.

Yelp
I'm convinced that all these 1-star reviews are competitors from surrounding hole-in-the-wall restaurants or disgruntled ex -employees because literally EVERYTHING I had here was delicious. The restaurant isn't much to look at from the outside but the inside is bright & happy & very clean with plenty of tables, a small bar & a counter with typical Central American snacks. The music perfectly matched the cuisine (absolutely hate when there's inconsistency with music & the food... totally throws off the vibe) & our waitress was so sweet, explaining all the dishes I had never heard of. Apparently, my dad had been bringing my son here for years but this was my very first time here. We were seated & of course went with the baleadas (which is essentially a large bean soft taco). We chose the BALEADA SENCILLA & added AVOCADO. My dad ordered a PLÁTANO RELLENO CON FRIJOLES, QUESO Y CREMA & I also ordered the CHICKEN SOFT TACOS. To drink, 2 LIMONADAS NATURALES. Ate every last bite of my huge baleada & took the tacos home for lunch the following day. Will definitely be back soon for more authentic Honduran food.

Yelp
This is the first place I've ever tried Honduran food from. Baleadas are now my favorite thing ever and I'm always craving them. The first time I ordered one for breakfast I kept taking bites of the Baleadas and saying "where has this been all my life". I also have had the Honduran spaghetti and it reminded me immediately of a macaroni dish my mom used to make when I was a kid. I have not visited the restaurant in person. My only real experience is through Doordash, but the food is incredibly delicious and comforting. So happy I tried this place out!

Yelp
Worse baleadas I have ever had. No curtido at all. Platano relleno was an oily mess. Items were also missing from my order. Save yourself the time and order honduran food from another place.
google avatar

Genesis B.

Yelp
Save your money. Nasty. Soggy. Paper thin tortillas. No cheese. Huge chunks of fatty meat tasted weird af. Shells in my egg. Took over 30 mins to bring us 2 baleadas. Should be called casa de las peor baleadas.

Yelp
Not the best place to eat. If you want to hang out somewhere that stays open kind of late and have just one more beer and that karaoke/pool table vibe, this may be the place. The food and service was terrible. They have FAKE CACAO drink! The baleadas were not good either. I won't bother with the rest since they couldn't manage with their grotesque and dry baleadas. The milk with nesquick was $8...
google avatar

Cristian G.

Yelp
Made a mistake and ignored how bad this establishment is rated. Go anywhere else. Chicharrón Pupusa: taste was good, not great. Enjoyed how it came out crispy. However for $8 I thought I was getting two, instead I feel scammed. Mega baleada: size was big as advertised however I was upset it came with scrambled eggs as I made sure to read the description that it didn't. In regard to taste (excluding the fact it came with eggs) I think it was just okay. With so many great Honduran places in the area, I don't mean to be disrespectful but I would never return to this establishment.

Yelp
The food was OK, the prices competitive, the service slow and not very attentive but what really got my negative response was the ambiance and condition of the restaurant. I won't be going back

Yelp
5/4/2021 my first time here, I asked for a soup of mondongo and the lady attending me, gave me attitude from the start worst customer service ever. If you want to be disrespected this is the place to be at. I asked for the soup and it has an option with coconut or without. I never tried it with coco and I asked her for a sample of it and she literally said it's either you want it or don't, make up your mind.

Yelp

NUNCA volveré a ordenar aquí otra vez. Normalmente ellos tienen mal servicio pero esto ha sido increíble. Tried calling for take out at 10pm (they close at 11:30) and no one picked up the phone the first 5 times I called. They finally picked up to say that they were closed, and when I asked for clarification on the time that actually close at, the hung up on me. NEVER ordering from here again. They're usually kind of rude in person but this was just unbelievable.

Yelp
I always passed this spot and Loved how appealing it looked from the outside. So this one early morning the appeal drew me in. I can saw that inside it was nice as well. I was spacious and had a very chilled vibe. Perfect place to watch a game(preferably futbol) or just catch an evening dinner with friends. I had to get a Baleada while I was there and since I cam e so early I got some breakfast as well. I got beans, tortilla and eggs with the Baleada. Its was ok. Nothing great and nothing bad. The food needs some flavor and attention. This Miami so I have higher exceptions for Central American Cuisines here.

Yelp
Came to visit Miami , and found this place in the way. Place was okay looking but food was surprisingly very delicious. The soup my husband got was very flavorful. And baliadas were delicious as well!
google avatar

Crystal V.

Yelp
I have tried eating here 3 times however, I won't be coming back. I have ordered baleadas and 3 soups. Sopa de Res and 2 sopa de Marisco. The food has 0 taste. La sopa de res is filled of hard uncooked vegetables. And the sopa of marisco brings around 3 shrimps only and again filled of vegetables.. the food has no yummy aroma nothing good. The baleadas are huge and get you nasty. Horrible service. Plus they charge you just to pack your items in a bag.... don't come here!!
google avatar

Jeanie M.

Yelp
The food has little to no taste. The soup is not of the quality you'd expect. They charge $11 for the soup and they fill it with plantain. Most places give you one container for the veggies of the soup and one container for the broth. This place skimped out on soup with poor quality veggies and just one container. Not to mention, it didn't taste like anything!! The salads that come with entree, no taste/seasoning or dressing. The salad that came with pupusa was going bad, it reeked. Stay away and take your dollars elsewhere. I hate to do this to a small business but come on man, take some pride in your business and provide quality.

Yelp
The Baleadas are Ok. Nothing to write home about. The service was pretty bad, not a smile, I didn't feel welcomed, they really need to brush up on their customer service. Also, they took forever to bring me my check and weren't even busy.

Marisa B.

Yelp
Love the food I've ordered several times and have absolutely no complains the food is so delicious
google avatar

Yelp
Thank you Miami for introducing me to baleadas. A baleada is a delicious Honduran sandwich in fried dough. It is a mixture of an empanada, taco and burrito. The baleada had an almost adobe tasting sauce, black beans, and cheese. This baleada also came with hot spicy slaw like concoction on the side(use this). I ordered a baleada(huge), pupusa with chicharron and chesse with a coke total $6.50. The food was awesome and the service fantastic. Kinda scared to share this gem on yelp. Thank me later. En vivo Honduras!

Yelp
Absolutely the best Honduran food!!!! The owner is not only beautiful, but she is nice and funny. She explained the difference in the food and was so NICE! We will be back!!!

Yanina A.

Yelp
I used to love the way they cook ....but honestly the last couple of weeks their food has been like s***, and today is the last day I am eating in there.... meat was uncooked and nasty, I am so disappointed. I would also like to add when calling back to give them an update that the food was uncooked lady was rude and said it wasn't her fault (like c'mon at least apologize) I had worked in restaurants before and I know how hard it is, but at least acknowledge you guys made a mistake.

Yelp
This restraunt is much more than baleadas. I the Sopa Marinera. The soup had some body to it, enough to satisfy, but not enough to overpower the seafood. The fish that was in the soup had a slight fishy smell when in the spoon, no smell was in the remainder of the soup except for the delicous seafood. Even though the fish did not taste bad, it cost them a star for this review. My daughter and son in law had pork nacatamales which were perfectly prepared. They are listed on the menu as an appetizer, but could easily be a cheap quick meal for an average size appetite. We shared a beef baleada. It was again a large size and could be a meal for a light appetite. My daughter had the Sopa de caracol. She was still talking about how good this was the next day. The waitress was attentive and the price for three with a couple of beers was $51. We ordered way too much food and could have feed five for this tab. I would recommend this anyone wanting to try authentic Honduran food.
google avatar

Gaby O.

Yelp
The baleadas are delicious but don't order them with meat, meat comes out very hard! I would suggest ordering a bigger meal if you're appetite is screaming for help. The service was great other than that but our only problem was the meat.

Gabi G.

Yelp
So yummy, love their baleadas. They did take way too long though. Maybe call in advance

Yelp
The service was so bad. The woman barely came to our table or even our side of the restaurant. None of the servers came to our side for us to ask for assistance or more water or check if our food was ok (which it wasnt). We had ordered 3 Horchatas and the waitress returned and said they were out only 2 left. My husband asked, "doesnt your restaurant make more though?" She said every 30 mins and shes sure we wont want one in an hour.....uhhh....YEAH we drove 30 mins because a friend wanted to try this place out, YEAH we wanted it all that's why we went to a restaurant. It's so obvious they just didnt want to make more yet. Every time was a different server, I'm not sure who was our main main one. On top of that, the food took long and they brought all our plates at separate times. The area is ehhh at night, maybe not the safest... but I'm willing for a good eat! The parking is HORRIBLE. THE worst parking section, cars park anywhere and just leave their trucks/cars and go inside idk how long and just block other cars in. My faith in that restaurant helping us locate who was blocking us was none. Not to sound like I'm expecting a lot but holy shit they were not giving a care about where they leave their car and how the other cars got out. My husband used to work in a dealership so hes so comfortable moving cars in extremely tight areas and he couldn't fit our car through. They need to organize so much here. From their service, to their parking! The food was ok. Oh and btw, for the crappy near-none-existent service, 15% tip is automatically placed on your receipt. So NO WONDER they dont care about earning any tip. There are so many good Honduran restaurants just around the corner, no way I'm bothering to come here nor recommending that experience.

Yelp
OMG, the best experience here is that the passion of the stuff, especially Jessica! We enjoyed a lot here. The coffe is good, the fried eggs are perfect. Really had a wonderful morning time here. I love the stuff here, you just can't help feeling happy! Yeah!

Yelp
This restaurant is on my way back home from work. I've passed by hundreds of times, and always thought 'I want to go there someday'. I finally did! I wish I have done it earlier. The only bad thing about this place was finding a parking spot. We went on a Thursday, the place is big and it was almost empty, I was scared at that moment, then a really nice girl helped us ordered our food, her name is Elizabeth, she was very helpful. I couldn't decide what seafood soup to eat; they had like 4-5 different options. She told me I should get the 'sopa marinera' and i did, she asked me if I wanted coconut milk on it, I had no idea, so again, she told me it was better with it so I trusted her and I'm so glad I did, the soup was delicious!, really, one of the best seafood soups I've had. It had all kinds of seafood (crab, shrimp, fish, octopus, and calamari). It came with rice and tortilla, but I didn't eat that because I wanted to make room for my baleada. I ordered an egg and chorizo baleada, and it was very good (even better than my favorite baleada spot.. I guess I should call it my former favorite baleada spot). My husband had chicharron de pollo with rice and maduros, and he told me he loved it. I left the restaurant, with a bigger belly but with a happier face :) . I will definitely be back for more.

Alex A.

Yelp
Being from Honduras, I crave baleadas--which is not a sandwich. Its a flour tortilla filled with refried black beans, sour cream, Honduran white cheese and a fried egg; if you order it with steak or pork, that's an additional buck or two. There are also some things which I hate about these Honduran restaurants. (All of which are owned by some kind of rightists from Honduras.) They don't let you order beers without ordering food!! Until Garifuna Flava moved into the southside of Chicago I didn't think I'd be able to buy sopa de caracol anywhere else, but the sopa de caracol at adelitas is great. Aside from the beer issue, the food is good. Viva Fidel!

Astrid M.

Yelp
THE WAITERS ARE RUDE. Especially the waiter Mary, plus there are roaches here. Zero stars
google avatar

Carolina C.

Yelp
This is one of the best, if not the best, Honduran Restaurants I've ever been to. The baleadas are certainly the best I've ever had. You must try the Platano Relleno, the Pupusas (I loved chicharrón con queso), and the Sopa de Caracol. The owner is super nice and the staff is very friendly. I will definitely come back!!!
google avatar

Anthony A.

Yelp
CUCARACHA (ROACH) ALERTOverall the food good was good my and causing ate 2 breakfast with carne Asada (beef) i think i was very Good Tasty And a enough portion. But when I saw the roach in the table it made me throw up but I didn't. Very disappointed with the cleanness of the restaurant. They apologize but didn't took responsibility of the problem, I still paid for my plate.

Jose A.

Yelp
Horrible service waited 45 min food yet to arrive it was 9:00pm 12/7/18 and nothing saw another come in 10 min after and get there food at 9:35 went to and ask for check for drinks and left never coming back. The messed up part it was practically empty. Don't recommend eating here. Would rate 0 stars if I could .

Jessica F.

Yelp
This place is dirty and the service is horrible. The food is reheated and there are way better places than this in the area. I actually gave this place a second chance because of a friend and the experience was actually worse than the first time. Same horrible service. I wish I can give this place no stars..
google avatar

Maria P.

Yelp
Don't ever go there. It's just gross!! There were roaches all over the place!!! I was disgusted and I didn't even eat. You could see the people eating there and the roaches on the floor, ceiling, doors. I was amazed on how this place is still open!!
google avatar

Julio C.

Yelp
I've been to many Honduran places in south Florida and I have to say this one is an eye opener. The ambience was great good energy felt almost if I was at my Abuelas eating a baleada lol. The servers were very nice and aside it from being a weekend which was jam packed I have to honestly say their effort was given to a 100% definitely one restaurant you have to go and check out . Ooo can't forget about that amazing horchata they make. :)
google avatar

Marjorie R.

Yelp
Can I write a review with NO STARS?! That's what place deserves!! Just had the worst experience! I ordered food to go and person (who took my order over the phone) didn't even check if the food I order was what I actually getting. So when I called telling him, they got my order wrong. He tells me that he would give me a credit of $0.50. First of all, in the restaurant industry if they get your order wrong they will ask you to come back and they will give you what you order and maybe more! Secondly, I over paid! The baleadas cost $2.50 if it you want it with carne it will cost you a dollar more. Well I excepted to eat my baleada con carne and what did I get a plain one!? If I wanted to get a plain baleada, I would've gone to Los Paisanos! They are $0.50 cheaper and they taste WAY better!! Adelita's Cafe, you jus lost a customer! The worst part is that I live so close by! THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I WILL EVER VISIT THIS PLACE! Oh and you could keep those $0.50!

Yelp
very very good baleadas y banananita i like this place is cheap and have good good food very nice
