Google
I ordered a lunch with chicken, rice, and black beans. The food came out in about 10 minutes and everything was really delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the rice was just right, and the whole plate tasted great. It’s a cozy place with a nice atmosphere, and Spanish radio playing in the background adds to the vibe. I also ordered a flan, but I’ll try it later. So far — very happy with this spot.

Dominique M.

Google
Consome de pollo was decent. Al pastor tacos were not it (flavorless). I am pretty shocked at how expensive these chips and guac were…do you see how insanely small this guac is? 😆 unbelievable

Rene O.

Google
I'm still eating while writing this review. I couldn't wait to give props to this place. Clean restaurant, Colorful atmosphere, and delicious food. Definitely keeping this in my favorites list.

Joshua T.

Google
Im a truck driver just passing through on a delivery not far from this restaurant. I took a walk for some flautas, a tostada, and lime fresca drink. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh, the fresca lime drink was amazing. I’ll make this a spot to revisit next time I’m around. I would’ve included a photo of the food but, I think the empty containers speak louder. 😋

Enrique P.

Google
Tacos de pastor were not good at all and too watery! When we asked to switch our meal they said we had to pay again! On top of that, they charge you tip. Unacceptable service!

Vincent S.

Google
The owner is extremely cheap. I ordered a burrito bowl and I asked for a little extra rice and little extra beans so she charged me for the extra rice and extra beans but yet I got the same size burrito bowl. But when it’s the workers that take my order, I actually get a bigger burrito bowl and she’s trying to blame the employees that are giving away her food for free. No it’s that you’re being cheap and charging an extreme amount of money. $40 for a small container of rice and beans and a little chicken, which is a burrito ball and a side of guac and chips. That’s literally robbery. Never going back there ever again. I wouldn’t either, she was actually nasty about it too and argued with me as opposed to be like oh I’m so sorry you know that you’re right let me give you a little extra since I charged you for it. As opposed to saying oh we pay a lot of money for this food. I don’t know how they’re still in business running a restaurant like that. Of course her reasoning for the food being so expensive is that food is expensive and it’s homemade and fresh. Meanwhile, after I got home. The guacamole was already browning.

Google
Authentic Mexican food, all fresh ingredients cooked by the owner. Chillaquiles, tacos de huevos con huevos, carne asada con arroz spectacular.. you also gotta try the tequila flan!! Check it out.

Ingrid

Google
It was my first time coming here but it won't be my last. This little hidden gem is cute and well decorated. The food was authentic, delicious and fresh. The portions are good and reasonably priced. The guac is sooo good, must try. If you're in the mood for authentic, fresh Mexican food give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Been here twice. Awesome service and food. Clean. Big menu. Friendly staff. Updated bathroom. But limited parking. Food so yummy.

Yelp
I came here for lunch recently with my coworkers. We shared the plato fiesta (nacho plate) and I had the al pastor tacos. The plato fiesta was more than enough for four people. We picked steak, chicken, and al pastor as our protein. The steak was the star! It was well seasoned and flavorful! The platter had a generous portion of everything. I would order it again. I didn't really care for my tacos. They were bland and lacking flavor. Next time I'll get the steak tacos. There was plenty of seating available. You place your order at the counter and the food is brought out to you once ready. The parking lot is very small.
google avatar

Yelp
Good place but always is something with the order ! We order from usps and we stop from time to time you'll see why !!!
google avatar

Yelp
The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. The service was friendly. Food is all homemade. Therefore, there is a little wait. If you're ordering food for lunch while working, be sure to place your order ahead of time so you're not late heading back to work! I had the enchiladas with chicken with beans and rice. Although the chicken inside the enchiladas wasn't seasoned, the green sauce made up for it. Their salsas are great with lots of flavor. My goto Mexican restaurant from New Jersey!

William K.

Yelp
Ordered the steak , rice and beans platter and found the dish was mediocre at best. The steak was tough with little flavor. The rice and beans were average. The plate came with NO garnishes of any sort NOT EVEN TORTILLAS! Anyway the dish was very bland. I would not order it again. On the bright side the young girl taking the order was super friendly and helpful. I would give her 5 stars for her great attitude & enthusiasm

Yelp
Stopped in the other night to give this place a shot and was glad I did! The food here tastes very homemade in all the good ways, definitely more authentic Mexican rather than Tex mex type of food. I ordered a steak burrito and it was delicious. I added avocado and lettuce in there too (I'll probably hold off on the lettuce next time, whatever lettuce they use is quite strong and got super soggy while I was expecting lettuce similar to chipotle that kind of holds up). The steak they use is definitely a decent quality of steak and they charge you accordingly. Would recommend and will come back again in the future!

Yelp
Came during my lunch break for take-out service. Took about 10 minutes. They have indoor seating and also some outdoor seating right on the grass which is casual and great for when it's nice out. The indoors is decorated so colorfully with lots of Mexican style decorations, very pretty and kept me entertained while waiting. Pollo taco- although it looks bland, it was good! but nothing special though. Al pastor- different than the ones I had in Mexico but still good. Carne asada- good also. The green salsa it comes with was the perfect pairing and lime wedges. If you want hot sauce you have to ask for it specifically. Flan de coco- DELICIOUS. star of the meal! Flan with coconut is just the best. I know its expensive but it just might be worth it, and its a decent portion. The guy at the cashier is nice, bubbly, and helpful. He was good at suggesting add-ons (but be careful about the upcharges he doesnt mention)! The bathroom is nice and spacious but the parking lot is not. Probably only 6 spots and the rest would have to be street parking. Taco Special- ANY 3 tacos mix and matched for $10.99. I wanted one carne asada taco which was a $1 upcharge. Total I paid $12 for 3 tacos. Expensive if you ask me. The desserts are $5.50 which is a bit much in my opinion for a mom and pop type place. I feel like they used to be $3/4 but inflation happened. Return? Probably. I'd try some other menu items and definitely the flan de tequila if I'm not on a work break haha. Recommend? Yes, great for easy lunch breaks or casual hangouts with friends/family/co-workers.

Yelp
The place is super cute inside really makes you feel like you are at a small restaurant in Mexico, the staff is super friendly and they have a small parking lot. Since it's called casa de Los tacos I decided to try their tacos. I went for the shrimp, steak, and veggie(zucchini with mushrooms). Unfortunately the veggie one had no flavor it tasted like they just sautéed the veggies on a pan and through them on a taco. The steak was missing seasoning as well and was well done. The shrimp was the best one and I think it's due to the mango sauce it comes with but it does get soggy quickly. I also tried the Jamaica drink it was more on the tart side then sweet. The menu is large and they have a variety of things. Overall the tacos were missing flavor but I would come back to try something else on the menu.

Jay J.

Yelp
I was in the mood for Mexican so I came here and ordered a steak burrito. Be mindful as the prices on the menus are different. The menu in the store I read from said 12 and some change but my burrito came out to 15 and change. It was stuffed with steak (plenty of it) rice and beans. Unfortunately, there wasn't much taste to anything. They use skirt steak which is great but it didn't have any char to the meat. I hate biting into a burrito and the meat looking like it was boiled. I probably would come back again but not order the burrito.

Yelp
Great steak tacos , nice and fresh meat . The rice and beans were also very good . Will definitely be trying some other items on the menu .

Yelp
The best mole i had In my entire life Alma the owner recipe is from three of her aunts and hers combined together. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant where you walk in. It smells so delicious.

Yelp
Yes, this place is great. Full 5 stars good. Prices are fair, the food is incredible, service is fast, ingredients were fresh and the portions were proper. I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Dash N.

Yelp
...been coming here for a while now. The food use to be great, now it's average. The service use to be on point. Now it's a hit or miss. The staff do way too much socializing amongst themselves, they literally tune out the guest/customer. So, yeah; three stars is all I can offer at this time.
google avatar

Miranda M.

Yelp
The food here is top tier. Ive probably sampled the whole menu with the amount of time we eat here. EVERYTHING IS GOOD!!! Chips and guac 9/10 nachos 11/10 burritos100/10, flautas 10/10. I tried something I wasn't sure about, a shrimp burrito and it was so amazing! They do catering for large events and I ordered my fiancés birthday party. The food came hot, delicious and it was a hit! Overall an excellent place to eat in Secaucus
google avatar

Yelp
My job loves this place, we order from here all the time. They deliver or you can pick up! There is also dining inside and outside. Where we are located they don't normally deliver, but since we always have a large order they make an exception. Very friendly and always fast delivery. Food is great! Everything I've tried is always delicious. Thanks for always providing quality service with amazing food! Some new pics added

Yelp
You know what bugs me most about restaurant hours? When they publish the hours on their website and then are closed 40 minutes before said time. That's what happened to me at Hal Yamashita. Finding the doors locked and then a cook shaking his head. I walked down the street to find a new Casa Del Taco locale opened up. Now 8.20pm maybe late for some folks on a weeknight but for a culturally Spaniard eater that I am 10.30pm is normal. So showing up 40 min before closing should have been good. Luckily I literally passed the truck on the way over. Had a handful of tacos and a coke and kicked it solo in front of the truck. Folks working were friendly and the food was solid. It was just an unexpected turn from the Japanese food I was expecting. Tacos to the rescue...

Chris D.

Yelp
This was my 2nd time here, and the service and food was so bland. I ordered the beef fajita, took about 20 minutes, the meat looked like it was maybe grilled a bit and the boiled, it was SO TOUGH to chew and had 0 taste. I'm Spanish and I can make better food honestly, the rice and beans were insulting with 0 flavor. I'm surprised, as a Latino that this is flavorless food. I thought my 2nd time would be different, however it was the same exact experience as the 1st time. I will not be coming back, and the staff is just Mid, not really super friendly just ehh like the food. Below average

Cindy G.

Yelp
Very fresh food and their tacos and chicken quesadilla are so tasty . Great service and great prices . There is also plenty of parking
google avatar

Disha S.

Yelp
Such a cute little take out spot! Not much seating indoors, few tables outdoors. A little pricey compared to other local places but large portions and made fresh to order. Their sauces, food and salsas were all delicious
google avatar

Alina M.

Yelp
If you've never been to La Casa de Los Tacos, you are certainly missing out on some amazing tacos! I tried three different tacos, which you can see in my pic: 1. Camarones (shrimp with a hint of chipotle, topped with mango pico de gallo) 2. Carnitas (slow-roasted pork topped with onions and cilantro) 3. Nopalitos x2 (sautéed tender cactus with onions and cilantro) I also got a Chicken Tamale to try which was delicious with a side of sour cream and salsa. Their Salsa Verde is incredible, I would totally recommend getting as much as possible and putting it on EVERYTHING!
google avatar

Darsha M.

Yelp
It didn't look like much from the outside but once you walk in, the place is so cute and colorful. I ordered the tacos special and got 2 chicken tacos and 1 veggie. My boyfriend ordered the enchiladas suizas. The enchiladas came with rice and beans on the side. For the most part the food was delicious but I wish the chicken had more flavor and spice, I had to put a lot of the verde salsa to improve the taste. My boyfriend said the same for the enchiladas sauce. However I would definitely come back and try other items off the menu.

Yelp
The tacos were amazing great service beautiful people top notch will definitely patronize again. Reasonable prices and there are even places to sit and eat. Decor is authentic and food is authentic top notch when it comes to Mexican tacos you'll enjoy it as much as me I'm sure !!

Yelp
Service is quick, polite, and attentive. We cam close to closing and they still welcomed us and took our order for pickup. The ambiance is fantastic. Bursting with color, music, and good TV programs. Food is delicious. Don't miss the carnitas quesadillas! Guac is so fresh and flavorful. As is everything else. Need to try more of the menu.

Payal P.

Yelp
The food was amazing and so well priced. My husband and I both got the taco lunch special, 2 tostadas, and the tres leches. We also brought a bottle of wine and they made sangria for us. The service was great and the people who work here are so nice. What a great spot and I can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
Good food.Portions are huge.Delivery is very late. Chicken enchiladas and shrimp tacos are my favorite.

Yelp
The food and service are excellent!! Great spot for good, wholesome Mexican food. Try the Mole sauce!!

Yelp
This place was on my list of places to try so took a ride up there. I seen the pictures of the shrimp tacos and wanted to try it. I called in the order and the lady told me it would take about 15 minutes. When I arrived I thought the place looked so cute outside. I parked in their private parking lot. I was greeted by a super nice lady and waited a bit because she had a call coming in. I asked the lady how much the homemade juices were and she said $4, so I passed on that. I paid a little over $15 for the tacos with my credit card and left. I got home and dug in. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned perfectly. They were cut into small pieces with some onions. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the type of tortilla that was used. All in all I had a good experience.
google avatar

Emma F.

Yelp
Amazing tacos for reasonable prices!!! I worked right across the street from time to time and always love to grab some of their tacos on my lunch break. The lunch special is $10 for 3 tacos!!
google avatar

Claire C.

Yelp
BEST TACOS I HAVE EVER HAD! Super Yummy never dry. The chips are to die for as well as the guacamole and salsa verde. The decor and vibe in the place is great as well.

Tina V.

Yelp
Great authentic MX food, good service, fair prices - Best I have had so far - enjoy!
google avatar

Christian R.

Yelp
Wonderful place for lunch. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and the portions are fantastic. I order often for my jobs monthly staff meetings and they always do such a good job even with large orders. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone, especially the flautas (they taste so authentic), if you were wondering.

Jimmy P.

Yelp
High quality Mexican food, always friendly customer service. You feel like part of the family when you go here can't recommend it enough!
google avatar

Mary R.

Yelp
Tacos were filling. Had the Shrimp, Steak, Chicken, Al Pastor and Pulled Pork tacos. Pulled Pork was probably the best one. I need to go back and see if the Enchiladas or other dishes are better. Enjoyed the Decor and how you can mix your tacos choices.
google avatar

Priti K.

Yelp
Yelp steered us to La Casa de Los Tacos on a sunny Monday afternoon during our holiday break recently. It was such a nice treat! Tacos are usually hit or miss in the seasoning of the meat to me and I was happy to enjoy lots of flavor in the three different kinds I ordered. I ordered two of the pork and the carne asada. It's very simple and makes a tasty, authentic taco. Chips and salsa is of course, always a nice compliment!! I loved the thick, crispy chips and washed it all down with a Tamarind Jarrito! I also really just loved the decor here. It's colorful and fun and a warm place with lovely service. Worth the drive from Journal Square, Jersey City. It's not too far and you get great Mexican food!
google avatar

Jan H.

Yelp
Just had the shrimp tostadas and limonade - so so good! And the place is cute, staff is friendly and menu is massive. Great place!!

Dmitriy N.

Yelp
If you are serving breakfast starting from 8AM-you HAVE to be ready to serve it 8. First time came and they was closed. Guy wasn't in rush over the closed door. Showed me and wait.
google avatar

Ellen G.

Yelp
The place itself is really cute and nice. The staff was also very welcoming and friendly. Their menu has great options. I got the taco special that comes with 3 tacos. I chose fish, Al pastor, and asada. Out of the three Al pastor was the best. The fish was a close second. The asada was just a bit over cooked. The flavor of everything could be a little better but overall I had a good experience.
google avatar

Marco L.

Yelp
Everything here that my friends and I tried was quite tasty. There is a good variety of menu items to choose from. Drinks are good as well. There is adequate parking and seating at the restaurant. Service is fast and friendly. My only issue with this place is their prices; most of the menu items are overpriced. For the type of restaurant and amount of food you get, the price should be lower. Otherwise, it is a good place to get some Mexican food if you're in the area.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Great mom pop type shot tucked away in secaucus. Burrito plate blew my socks off. Wish it was open Sundays !
google avatar

Ulysess S.

Yelp
I've been going to La Casa de Los Tacos, since they first opened up, everything on the menu is very good, they give you choices of tacos, chicken, beef, shrimp, I had them all, very delicious, even their breakfast is good, I always order the Huevos Rancheros with black beans and a large cup of coffee, hits the spot all the time, the owner is always there and very friendly and attentive, it's been 3-4 years going there and I will always come back, check them out.
google avatar

Jennifer Z.

Yelp
Just had the shrimp mole enchiladas. The mole flavor hit all the right notes, rich, flavorful and just enough heat. Our vegetarians were very happy with their nopales tacos and enchilada. Wonderful lunch spot!
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Nice little quick Mexican bites. When I went for lunch, the small parking lot was full so I had to get street parking (which was full-ish but I got a spot, don't park at the post office!) but there was no line, but when I left with my food, there were like 8 people in line but a couple of empty parking spaces. So my guess is that if you go at a popular time you'll be facing a parking/line issues, but you can endure that. I got the taco lunch special, 3 tacos for $8 and can be different tacos (and there are several options). They make them up fresh, but the wait wasn't that long. They have a few stools at the counter and a few tables and the decor is nice, so it can be a good place to eat in if you don't want to go out. The tacos were packed full of meat and had a light but noticeable amount of spicy to it. The tacos WERE a little on the small side. They come on corn tortillas, personally I much prefer flour which I am not sure if you can switch out or it is what it is. For a lunch, it was tasty and filling.

Yelp
I will admit NJ isn't my regular stomping grounds. My kid is having surgery, and since I'm on this coast, I thought I would ask the nurses where to get some lunch, and they said La Casa de Los Tacos. I mentioned that I'm of Mexican ancestry and live in San Diego, so I've got a very high standard for Mexican food. However, I was very pleasantly surprised to find the offerings at this restaurant. The tacos with cochinita pibil and fish were fantastic. Unfortunately, I don't think they have the vertical rotisserie for true al Pastor/adobada, which comes from Lebanese immigrants to Mexico, so that was a little dry, but when I moved onto the enchiladas de mole, I was allowed to try them with different meats. The mole brightened the chicken, which is a typical protein for mole. However, the mole paired well with the carnitas (pork), and it highlighted the gamy quality of the barbacoa (lamb) delightfully. Overall, I'm quite impressed. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try! The service was friendly and efficient, and the interior of the restaurant is like a love song to Mexico.

Yelp
First time/ last time!!! Ordered some lunch, and was blown away at the price. Two burritos, two tacos, two tamales, and two horchatas. Right at 55 dollars, honestly wouldn't give you 55 pesos! I should have listened to my gut instinct and just canceled my order over the phone. They wouldn't start making the order because it was over 35 dollars. Well if your food wasn't over priced then it wouldn't be so laughable. Your horchata sucks, your salsa has the consistency of jam, your meat lacks seasoning. The list does go on, but not going to waste too much of my time on this place. Buyer beware!!!!!!
google avatar

Barbara M.

Yelp
The owners of this restaurant are so hardworking and so warm and kind. The food continues to be high quality. I especially love the slow roasted pork. And they have added more and more trinkets and snacks and candies and art from their cultural homeland. Today I tried the Yucatán carnitas taco with habanero lime salsa. OMG! it was delicious! I am glad the eatery continues to thrive. Secaucus needs a good authentic taco and Mexican food restaurant. The parking can be tight on peak times but I wouldn't let that dissuade you- it's worth the walk into the joint! The food is amazing! Fresh produce, well seasoned meats, perfectly fried fish, delicious tacos. And everyone is so n
google avatar

Christine G.

Yelp
Best mexican food anywhere! There's a reason it's packed at lunch time. Fresh, delicious not fast food at all. They could streamline there counter operations to be more efficient but it is worth the wait to eat here. Great value.
google avatar

Nena V.

Yelp
Very disappointed, the tacos used to be really good. I went with my boyfriend to have lunch this afternoon, after 20 minutes waiting, we got our food, tacos were cold and the meat had no flavor, also, my tortilla soup no flavor. Don't waste your money, there's more places to get better food, specially better tacos.
google avatar

Jed R.

Yelp
Took a date here the other day. Great ambiance for a smaller restaurant with ornate Mexican decorations throughout. Seemed to have great food without trying yet as there were a number of people coming in and out. I had shrimp, al pastor, and the special pork tacos. Each had a very distinct and great flavor. The shrimp was especially good with the pineapple and onions! My date had the chicken tacos and she finished them faster than I did! If you're in the mood for some tacos and in the Secaucus area, you gotta try this place!
google avatar

Bob E.

Yelp
Yoooooo, the burritos are fully loaded. The quesadillas are drippin with the drip. Tacos are fire. The soup reminds me of going to grandmas for Sunday breakfast with the whole gamy. The serving sizes are definitely worth the price. Pretty much everything you order comes with guac and sour cream on the side....Fo free....ish. Order the steak burrito and tell em Bobby sent you. I don't know what that'll do,But if they do something cool tell me.
