"Why we love it: A Mission Revival property that blends Hollywood history with hang-ten culture The Highlights: - A location just minutes from the secluded Cress Street Beach - A rooftop lounge with sweeping ocean views - Guest rooms designed by iconic surf brands The Review: Once the haunt of writers, filmmakers, and Hollywood celebrities, this historic hotel on the Pacific Coast Highway famously hosted a lobby backgammon game between J. Paul Getty and Howard Hughes in the 1930s. Today, the pet-friendly property maintains its original grace with Spanish-style stucco and domed arches, but 10 of its 41 suites have moved on to a decidedly different sort of California cool. Created in collaboration with iconic skate and surf brands like Etnies, Roxy, and Billabong, the Casa Surf rooms feature hand-painted surfboards, underwater photo murals, and George Nelson furniture, fully immersing guests in Laguna surf culture. For something more traditional, book one of the Spanish rooms, which include wrought-iron accents and ornately carved dark-wood furnishings. La Casa sits just a stone’s throw from Cress Street Beach, where hotel guests enjoy access to chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels as part of their resort fee. Also included in the fee is daily breakfast, access to the nearby Art of Fitness gym and its juice bar, and reservations at the on-site Rooftop Lounge, where you can sip mojitos while watching the sun set over the Pacific. When you’re in the mood for something more substantial, head downstairs to K’ya Bistro, with offers small plates full of Mediterranean flavor."

"Casa del Camino is a boutique, Spanish-style hotel that’s been around the ’20s - but what you really need to know about is its rooftop situation. With its ocean and coastal views, this is the perfect place for a low-key sunset cocktail in Laguna." - Katherine Lewin

This hotel is one that I will definitely stay at again. The location is excellent, you can walk down the stairs to the beach and lots of food places and shops are within walking distance. We rented a car while we were in Laguna Beach but hardly used it because everyone walks everywhere. The hotel has historic character while also having upgraded amenities. The room was very clean. They serviced it very quickly when we left the tag on the door requesting it. The view from the hotel is excellent. We slept with the bathroom window open and listened to the ocean all night. The water pressure in the shower was surprisingly very good considering the building is older. The bed was big and comfortable. The restaurant at the top of the building was good and had an even better view. Two things that I wished they would add are laundry services and breakfast. That doesn't affect my rating though because I was aware of those things not being included when I decided to stay there and made reservations. They did have coffee and snacks/breakfast bars downstairs. It was my son's birthday and I feel like they chose our particular room because it was a special occasion so be sure and mention if there's a special reason why you're traveling there. This was one of the cheaper options price-wise and it surprises me because it's every bit as good as more expensive hotels I've stayed at.

Relaxing stay! We stayed for one night on a road trip in June. We actually made a mistake in our own booking and showed up a day light. The general manager happened to be working that day and was so helpful when it was totally our fault. He helped us get a new room very seamlessly. We got a third floor room with a beautiful ocean view. We had the “Lost” room with a big bathroom, ocean view and king sized bed. It’s really peaceful and far enough away from downtown that you can relax. They also have a great rooftop!

We wanted to stay somewhere close to the beach that would be relatively affordable. This place was it! It absolutely needs some updating-it feels a bit dated. The room was really small and had no view. I understand we made our reservation ~2 weeks in advance but it was not busy season and we were celebrating a special occasion. They did try to accommodate. We were on the basement/bottom floor and it was loud. You could hear the kitchen, the elevator and guests. However, the location of the hotel was excellent. We walked everywhere all weekend and you are a short walk to the beach which was exactly what we wanted! It's nice having the rooftop bar too for a sunset drink. I am not sure if we would stay again, potentially!

Thank you for a wonderful day at La Casa de Camino. The hotel is historical and impeccably kept. The room all those small was extremely comfortable, extremely clean and had olives and necessities that a high-end hotel would have. The location cannot be beat. You are steps from being on the sand. My particular Room had an Ocean view, and I was able to capture sunsets, but also hear the waves crashing each night as I slept. |I will definitely return to the hotel on my next stay in Laguna Beach

The rooftop bar at La Casa Del Camino is an absolute gem! The sunset views over Laguna Beach are breathtaking, making it the perfect spot to unwind with a drink in hand. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, and the service is top-notch—attentive, friendly, and fast. Whether you're here for a casual evening or a special occasion, this place delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great drinks, great vibes, and an unforgettable view!

Mark and Jess were wonderful and welcoming to this beautiful and historic place. We've stayed here a few times and each visit is magic. Very kind staff and a lovely place - my favorite get-away in Laguna!

Google
This is a really nice place with super great views of the ocean! We decided to drive down for one day and stay the night. When you wake up in the morning you'll probably see Gandolf the osprey!!! Rooms are a little small but they're really nice. I mean it is an older place. It also has a rooftop bar which is cool

Wonderful stay. Great location historic hotel. Well kept. They even put rose petals and a bottle of wine in my room for our anniversary. Rooftop restaurant has epic views and good food. Parking included just across the street. Roaring fire in the lobby and a friendly person at the front desk. Even their keys are cool little wooden keepsakes!

Denise B.

Yelp
Well, it wasn't what I expected. Looked cool from outside. Coolest part was bar facing street but not open certain days... go figure.... Room, ok. Before had hair in it. Didn't ask, didn't want to know. Probly wouldn't stay again. Front desk staff didn't want to be helpful. Asked about discount it advertised online. Guestbook. They don't care. You don't get the gift card unless you sign up. Complicated. People at front desk wont help. 3 stars tops.

Yelp
This charming, older hotel is in the perfect location in Laguna Beach! We booked a queen-sized room; it is definitely small. The room has one small nightstand, the bed, a small desk along one wall and a little armoire. There is a TV on the "far" wall, with a small fridge which was a nice bonus. The bathroom was super tiny. Under the sink, there was a small cabinet that housed a blow dryer; you could put some belongings there as there is zero room for anything in the bathroom, except for maybe a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste. If you stood up from the toilet, you were right at the sink. The tub shower ran along the length of the toilet and sink. One thing that was a little frustrating was you cannot fully open up the bathroom door because it hit the furniture that housed the fridge. There was an AC /fan unit on the floor that worked pretty decently. Thank goodness, because we had it on the whole time to help drown out the sounds of the people above us. The floors were a little thin, and we were on the bottom floor. The place is just steps from a stairway down to the beach (a rocky beach, but there's still a bench for sitting and great views for the sunset.). The lobby is super cute, And a lot of people would sit there and drink coffee, tea or read. You can buy small things in the lobby, or head up to the rooftop bar, which has amazing views (and gets packed by visitors and locals, so make a reservation!), and while they were there, they were having a soft opening for the bistro that they're opening right off the lobby. There is only a curbside to park out while you check in and unload. Parking is free, but is across the street, about a two minute walk. The lot is super tight though; glad we brought our smaller car. I felt that the communication was where this place shines! Everybody was pleasant to work with, and so helpful. They communicated throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well! They had chairs and towels that we could use for the beach (know they are more of a camping style chair, not a beach chair, but still it was one less thing we had to pack). Many places to eat and shop are just a few minutes walk away. Or jump in the car and head down to Main Beach. I like that they are continuing to make this place better!

Yelp
Had a great lunch experience last week. This quaint rooftop bar and grill provides an amazing view of Laguna Beach while serving up tasty meals and delicious cocktails. Great place to reserve for a couple of friends or that special person on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. You won't be disappointed. Service was prompt and courteous. Will definitely be keeping this in my short list of places to dine and unwind.

Mama S.

Yelp
This Cozy Charming Establishment is a home away from home. The staff are friendly and professional. The Rooftop Ocean view restaurant has great food and a delicious Brunch on Saturday & Sunday. To top this hotel experience off was the kindness of one of the Managers Jim Hall. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay at the hotel was perfect, he was such a delight.. We will definitely be back...

Yelp
This one star rating is specifically for their event team (Rachel) and front desk person (Amber). Both could not care less about bringing business to the hotel. I've called numerous times about wedding services. My fiancé has called as well and not received a call back. We'll be moving on, if they're this unresponsive we don't want to work with them anyway. Next!

Kat S.

Yelp
We love this place. We've been here many times. They recently upgraded the tables and chairs which was really needed. This time we came at 1pm on a Monday. There was no one there. (It's always completely packed on the weekend.) Do you see all the empty tables behind us? The waitress/hostess asked us - very severely - if we had reservations and we said no. She put us at the worst table with no umbrella. I got very sunburned. We stayed for a long time and had a wonderful meal and even stayed for dessert and coffee. We ate every bite. At the beginning my lover spilled his water because the table jiggled. The busboy was so friendly and helpful, immediately fixing our table to be more stable with a shim and cleaning up the mess without us asking and bringing us fresh napkins. I took these photos at the end of our meal and still no more customers had come to fill up all the empty tables. Their happy hour starts at 2pm and we left at 2:30, leaving a nice tip even though our waitress shorted us a dollar in change because she couldn't figure out cash. Probably no one ever pays with cash there.

Yelp
Amazing hotel. With great staff. The rooms are so awesome with epic views. The Rooftop Lounge and Casa Bistro are really good.

Shannon F.

Yelp
Worst experience! First of all I don't think their parking lot follows code regulations. When I wanted to leave I did not have enough space and when I asked the front desk to ask another hotel guest to move his car, she told me that the general manager did not allow it. When I asked the man himself to move his car, she threatened me with charges for disturbing a guest. I had to call the police to just be able to have another guest move his car so I could get out of the parking lot!!! Also all night the fan in the room kept making noises Not enough blankets People talking at 3 am in the lobby which I could hear from my room (I think they may have been drunk) If you want your piece of mind stay away from this hotel!!!

Sonny D.

Yelp
We stayed here Thanksgiving weekend 2023. We arrived early and were able to get an earlier check in than 4pm just not the ocean view room that was reserved for us. The room we took was as pictured on their website, small and Spanish decor. My review is on everything except the room as beggar's can't be choosers, right? LCDC was clean, well located for beach access, restaurants and shops. Free parking across the street with reservation parking permit and pet friendly. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Dining rooftop was spot on! The staff, the food & drinks were perfect! The view was spectacular too especially the sunset.

Chris F.

Yelp
The atmosphere and view are obviously insane and unmatched anywhere in the OC. The food was super legit as well, and the staff is always incredibly professional and friendly. Love this spot so much!

Ereka S.

Yelp
Where do I begin! Total vibe from beginning to end....so much culture & the immediate feeling of namaste as soon as I entered the space. The quaintness & decor of our room with the surfer theme was befitting for my daughter...lighting was amazing. But let's not forget we were celebrating birthdays & Phelton made sure it was memorable with the welcome package but most of all the handwritten note sealed the deal! Customer service stellar. View was amazing watching the waters from daylight to dawn was an addition to it all. Dinner was freshly made as well as delish not to mention the rooftop experience while dining; witnessing the sunset was unmatched! Picture perfect. This space has so much culture & character ...pure muse! #mustsee

Nichole M.

Yelp
I was very excited to stay at this hotel but was mortified when came back from beach walk to find my shower full of gunk (see below pictures). When I showed the front desk personnel she just replied yes, Laguna is old and sometimes the pipes back up.

Angel C.

Yelp
Excellent service and superior General Manager - Phelton Calhoun - overall experience with his hospitality and generosity. Perfect place to spend a summer birthday vacation.

Dean P.

Yelp
From the moment we arrived to when we left the staff here was amazing. I was actually packing the car and an employee asked if we needed anything AS SHE WAS GOING TO WORK! Not even on the clock yet... Who does that?? We needed space for our daughter to sleep, and when we checked in? The additional bed was there and room arranged for our needs. Wonderful space near the ocean and friends in Laguna. The Rooftop Lounge was the perfect place to watch the sunset. Our 13 year was perfectly comfortable there early in the evening. Can't wait to go back. Easy drive from Glendale. Prices were spot on as well

Heidi D.

Yelp
Arturo was an amazing server and bartender! Love the ambiance, food and service of Casa Bistro restaurant.

Michael M.

Yelp
No clear unloading area. No central Heating and AC in the building. Broken window in the bathroom that could not be closed. Ancient furniture in guest room. The most uncomfortable bed I ever slept on. Dead telephone. No assistance from management for any of this. I could go on and on about this but I will just upset myself again. Just a terrible experience.

Jonne A.

Yelp
How on earth is this the room we got ? Versus what's online. False advertising. We ended up leaving mid night because couldn't fathom sleeping in this room. The front desk said they also upload imagery of their "Spanish style" rooms online, which although is of the last images shown on booking, are regardless way better than this shit room we were given. We asked to be moved to something similar to their online options and they said they had nothing available- when we checked online that was clearly false

Erica K.

Yelp
The exterior is beautiful, the location ideal, rooftop bar and view is too notch, staff were great, the inside of the room is where they lost me. The bare minimum of maintenance is made here - for example, the bathroom faucet was literally falling off. If the rooms were improved they'd get at least another star.

Brad S.

Yelp
Friday afternoon at the rooftop restaurant with a view of the ocean was awesome. I was impressed with the quality of the food that just added to a great experience watching the sun go down. The hotel has an eclectic feel to it, and I'm looking forward to my wife and I staying for a weekend getaway.

Michelle H.

Yelp
My husband and I just stayed at La Casa Del Camino for a staycation and ate at The Rooftop restaurant for dinner. We loved it so much that we went there again for lunch the next day! I'll share some of the things we experienced while there: The entire hotel has a historic vibe throughout, but in a classy way. The lobby is very cozy and it even has a private courtyard area. We stayed in one of the Spanish-themed rooms, which was clean with a little ocean view. It had 1 queen bed and typical things you need (robe, hair dryer, safe, iron, toiletries, mini fridge, etc.) When we arrived, we parked at the free lot across the street (about 1 block, you can see the hotel from the parking lot). We walked over to the hotel and then it was super quick and easy to check into our room. We used a phone app and got into the rooms digitally, which was convenient. The staff were very kind and welcoming the entire trip, which always makes an experience better! We did make dinner reservations at The Rooftop for 6:30pm, but walked around the town and did some shopping beforehand - the hotel is in a great location for that! Once at dinner, we were sat immediately and the waitress was quick to take care of us. We sat right against the glass and had the perfect view of the beach, mountains, and sunset - the ideal dinner spot. For dinner, we ordered: 1. Fried Brussels Sprouts (SO GOOD, I will definitely be back for these - one of the best fried brussels I've had and I basically hogged the entire thing of these). 2. Ahi Poke (great portion and loved the chips it came with too). 3. Fried Coconut Shrimp (very good, it came with 6 so we each ate 3). 4. La Casa Burger (my husband ordered this and I went to have a bite... and then I ended up eating more than a bite because it was SO GOOD). 5. Tiramisu (SOOO good - I was worried it would be a lot more rich and I'm glad it wasn't. It was cooked to perfection and so yummy!) I ordered the Berry Mojito and it was SO good that I ordered 2. He ordered the Thousand Steps IPA (he loves IPA so of course it was good). The sun went down as we ate dinner and they had heaters all around, so we weren't cold. The staff even offered everyone a warm blanket just in case, which was very thoughtful of them to do! The entire dinner experience was amazing. Afterwards, it was so convenient to go back downstairs straight to our room. It was quiet the entire night and a really comfortable stay. When we woke up the next morning, there was complimentary coffee and some breakfast items near the lobby area. We checked out at 11:30am and were able to leave our bags with the staff members in the lobby while we went back up to the rooftop for lunch! We made reservations for 12pm but they were able to get us in earlier. We sat against the glass again and got great views of the ocean and got to see so many dolphins! For lunch, we ordered: 1. Cheese and Charcuterie (I'm a huge charcuterie fan so I knew I'd love it -- they had the perfect mixture of sweet and savory and the honeycomb was the perfect cherry on top - highly recommend getting this). 2. Thai Chicken Salad (it was a great portion for 1 and wasn't too heavy at all). 3. Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (this is what my husband ordered and he loved it). 4. Creme Brulee (this was the perfect amount of sweet, not too heavy, and so delicious. We ate the entire thing in less than 2 minutes LOL). For lunch drinks, I had a berry mojito mocktail (the berry mojito was so good the night before and I wanted it without the alcohol), and it was so good. He ordered the Island Old Fashion and thought it was so amazing that he ended up drinking 2. I will definitely be back here and recommend it if you're ever in the area!

Yelp
Great Drinks, Great environment.. I came the other day in order to grab a room for my buddy's wedding. I read of few of the surrounding area reviews and La Casa Del Camino had the best ratings within the budget I wanted to spend for one night. Reservations were simple since I did it online and I had no issues with confirming or with online check in. I did however ask for early check in and requested a specific time so the groom could use the room to change for pictures and the wedding. I was told upfront that they can't guarantee an early check in because it's dependent on people checking out earlier than usual and staff being able to clean the rooms. I thought that was very reasonable and they assured me even though it was almost out of their hands they would do their best in order to accommodate me. As the date came I was contacted by staff ( sorry I didn't keep the email) and asked if any room was acceptable or I had to have the room I booked. I told them I'm flexible and that as long as the groom was able to get ready at the specific time it was no problem. I was even asked if they could do anything to perhaps make the occasion more special which I was pleasantly surprised about ( A+++ Customer service) but declined as things were already in motion at another location. My apologies for all this fluff, it's been awhile since I was able to review somewhere. =) Let's get to the nitty gritty.. Hotel overall : 5 stars Great customer service, upfront with what they can and can't do. Hotel staff acknowledges you right away and takes care of you in a timely fashion. They take as much time as needed so you understand everything all with a smile. There is Elevator access, Street access, but the hallways are a little cramped. I'm 250lbs so the elevator is a 2 person with little to no luggage. Hallways I can walk freely but a wheel chair may be a bit tight.. not impossible.. just possibly tight. Room: I do believe I was put in the first available which was an accessible room. BEST ROOM EVER ! It was an Ideal accessible room with plenty of space to move around with a walker, wheel chair etc.. the shower had a rain shower head, regular shower head , and a smaller shower head removable for those sit down situations. The tile was aged, the caulking was old and the fixtures looked a bit tattered but in no way was that a bad thing. It added to the overall ambiance of the place and I wouldn't have changed a thing. Air conditioning in the room is not wall or central but rather a portable with exhaust vent in the wall which does an excellent job of cooling. Now, the only thing that has a thorn in my side is parking.. Parking is just up the street to the right. It's not clearly marked and fills up pretty quick. I managed to get a spot but when you see the parking it's pretty cramped. When you check in though you have parking on the side of the hotel to drop off or check in so you don't have to haul everything across the street. Temp Parking is on CRESS St. on the side of the hotel. Hotel parking is located up Cress St. on the right hand side.. it is on the Corner of Cress and Glenneyre St. Overall, Heck yea I'll come back even if I can't find parking. The hotel is near everything fun and if for some weird reason you don't like their bar there is another bar next door so yea.. LOL Cheers !

Yelp
Our AC unit never worked had staff try to help on check in but was unsuccessful. Garbage truck came at 7am right under our window twice ! We had opened windows with hangers to keep open cause windows didn't stay open- we had no AC so opening the windows was the only option had to use hangers to prop open cause they were broken - when garbage man came - Smell was horrible - and trash dust flying into our room - horrible to be jarred awake like that on a Saturday morning - we asked the hotel clerk for a late check out and he was un empathetic To our disturbance at first said no absolutely no late check out and then my husband came over and he reacted differently gave us 1 hour - we spent in the restaurant upstairs and left. Overall I don't think we will stay again for the price we can stay at one of the better hotels it's too bad cater it's such a cool hotel. If there was more attention to detail and the cleaning it felt very unkept and neglected. Definitely should contact city to schedule trash day on a different day or after 9am !

Terri B.

Yelp
If you're in Laguna Beach and you want a great breakfast/brunch place, head to the roof at the La Casa Del Camino. The view is incredible. We had omelettes and Bloody Mary's. I like mine spicy , but they make them mild as well. You won't be disappointed. Hunter took care of us and was very attentive. Thanks for a great start to the weekend.

Connor D.

Yelp
I just came back from a stay at the hotel and was pleasantly surprised with how nice it was. Yes, it is an older hotel but that is part of the charm! The room was large and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable I laid down to watch TV after I checked in and fell asleep for 2 hours! The staff were always attentive. The hotel is just steps away from a lovely beach which was not very crowded. They even gave us chairs, umbrellas, and towels for the beach! The rooftop bar/restaurant had great food and an even better view of the ocean. The lobby bar is also nice and they have live entertainment almost every night. It was such relaxing weekend. I can't wait to go back!

Alli J.

Yelp
Where to even begin. As you can see from my profile I really try to only write negative reviews rather than positive ones if I feel people should be warned about how awful a place is! I've never stayed in a motel 6, but this is how I'd picture one to be. My fiancé (now husband) and I came to stay here for Valentine's Day and to elope in Laguna Beach. This had not only been expressed to front desk staff, but even if we were not coming for a special event I'd definitely expect the rooms to be clean. There was a thick layer of dust covering every single surface in the room we checked into and sticky spots on the flooring near the foot of the bed and desk. The lady at the front assured me I would have a partial beach view but you couldn't see anything out the window other than cars parking on the street and large bird of paradise plants-which is fine, but honesty would have been preferred. The rooms were nothing like photographs online decor/size wise, but they also failed to mention some of their doors from the hallway to room do not close all the way ( even when locked) as their is a gap from years of warp leaving excessive light coming into the room at all hours of the night. The ac/heater didn't work in our room, our room was stocked with two towels for a 3 night stay for 2 guests. There were stains on the throw comforter at the end of the bed and spider webs in the shower and spiders in the shower curtain. The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows so worn and flat that you might as well have slept on the floor. I was originally thrilled when I saw online they had down pillows as that is what I'm most comfortable sleeping on, but these must have been 10 years old. Even after getting more pillows they were so worn and warped and misshapen there was no way to comfortably sleep on them. After multiple times of expressing my concerns to the front desk staff via their text system and in person. Upon checkout, they acted as if the issue had been resolved and kept claiming they had sent me a text message but I never got one from them on my end and even showed the girl at the desk my phone. She said that sometimes happens when they send long messages through their system. Then, she was essentially upset that I would even come to the desk to speak about my concerns when she "had already texted me" knowing I likely didn't receive her text (I didn't) because she had even said sometimes when they send long texts through the computer they fail to go through. I asked why someone hasn't tried to call me and she said they are not allowed to call guests.. even when I'm asking for a manger to call me? And that I wasn't in my room all day so no one could speak with me... well I'm not sure about them but I'm pretty sure the majority of the people spend their vacations outside of their hotel room and are out exploring the city all day or laying at the beach. After checking out their manager texted me again after I said I was available for a call to resolve this issue.. they could only offer to have us come back for a night on them (no way will we be back) or half of what we paid for our reservation! Which would have been a totally great way to express sorrow and sincere remorse for our awful stay, but the manger could clearly see that I had used hotels.com points and membership perks to significantly lower my nightly rate and bought during a flash sale so the refund he was offering of half of what I paid for one night would not even pay for a dinner date and since the refund would not issue back any hotels points promos I would not be able to get a similar deal elsewhere on our next trip.

Yelp
Loved our stay here! Came out for my birthday and Manager Gonzo made it an extra special memorable one for us, thank you! Exceptional customer service with a cosy comfortable room for a reasonable price. We will be back with our parents and kids soon.

Michael W.

Yelp
Avoid this place! It may be one of the oldest hotels in Laguna Beach, but the hotel service is bad. We arrived, two of us for our honeymoon, and the room had only one robe and the front desk refused to give us two robs even thought we were newly married and the room was for two people. I offered to buy the robe and they said NO. Also, there was a major problem with noise from another guest that disrupted our entire nights sleep one night and the from desk promised to credit us and then once we left the hotel they refused. Finally, they tell you nothing about the hotel such as having to let them know when you want the room cleaned and even when we did ask for this service, they failed to clean the room. We did not find out until the third day that there was a free bus to bring us into laguna and surrounding areas even though the stop was across the street - so we wasted money on Ubers. The room had an air conditioner that was on the floor, and the room was hot, and it took all day for the AC to cool the room.

Ina B.

Yelp
This is by far one of my favorite rooftops in Laguna Beach. Small space with giant and spectacular sunset views. Due to city ordinance they are only open until 10pm so plan accordingly and make reservations, it gets busy!! Drinks are delicious and very different, I enjoyed a couple, thanks to Hutch for his recommendations. My shishito peppers were on point, although I would remove the mayo aioli they add to it. A nice surprise for dinner was the Brazilian Moqueca, wow! Similar to a ciopinno but this one has a creamy coconut milk finish, interesting and really good.

Kelly D.

Yelp
Amazing! Hillary, Phelton, Rachel and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and our many guests when we booked the hotel for our wedding in Laguna Beach! The location, staff, , rooms, service and food was incredible! We love this place and it will always hold a special place in our hearts! It our home away from home!

Janice G.

Yelp
We just spent the weekend there. It was beautiful, clean and relaxing!! It was the perfect getaway. The view from the rooftop lounge was amazing. The costumer service was great too. Thanks so much. We needed that break from life!!

Yelp
May 2022 - Went on a Friday afternoon around 6pm. A reservation is a must! Food/Pricing - 8 cocktails, 1 appetizer, and 3 entrées was about $240 total for us. Brussel sprouts were solid and overall everything was good. The chicken pasta was just okay though. Service/Ambiance - Beautiful sunset view from the rooftop. Service was attentive and friendly! The only thing was that our table was way too small for a party of 4 and the bar stool style seats are super not comfortable. There were high chairs with backings but we didn't get those to sit on. The table barely fit our drinks and food but that was after we had to ask for them to take away our waters so that everything could fit.

Yelp
The place is dirty and smells like a public bathroom and walls are paper thin. I wouldn't be surprise if they have a cockroach infestation as well

Yelp
I stayed here for my birthday weekend and I cannot recommend it enough!! Not only was the hotel exquisite, the staff was so wonderfully helpful and kind. The hotel is right on the water and is so incredibly cute. Each room is so different and unique. The room was very clean, the beds were super comfortable, and the view was perfect. 10/10 weekend

Yelp
I liked this hotel a lot. I stayed here for a solo surf trip and it was perfect for what I needed. Super close to a little cove beach which was really secluded and good for a little photoshoot if you're an Insta model haha ;) Most things are walking distance, with lots of restaurants and bars close by. The downtown area is a little far to walk but there's a shuttle too. Parking is interesting...it's across the Pacific coast Highway and the lot just fills up sometimes so two nights I ended up needing to find street parking. Service is excellent here. Everyone was so friendly, and I ended up getting really sick my last day there so they helped me easily extend my stay by a day. I was on the 3rd floor and there is quite a bit of noise from the rooftop bar so if you're taking a nap and a light sleeper you might not fare well, but it's a fun rooftop bar! (I'll review them in another review separately) The lobby was really cute too and just the whole theme of the hotel really makes you feel like you're on vacation. Check in/out was easy, and yeh everything went for the most part! Will stay here again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
My friend and I stayed at La Casa Del Camino and had the best time. Check-in was breeze and the staff were all SO friendly and accommodating. Love the rooftop lounge. You get incredible views of the Pacific while sipping on very well made cocktails as well as the best coconut cshrimps! There's a very cute Spanish restaurant (Comedor) on the property. Definitely make a reservation there. Fun vibes and lots of tasty tapas.

Yelp
Super cute hotel. It's not sparkly and new but that's not what is important in historic places. It's clean and the rooms are well kept. There's a lot of activity so it's not real quiet. The roof top bar has fabulous views, good food, and good drinks. The service was great from hotel to rooftop bar.

Yelp
July 3rd my friend and I came to the restaurant on the first floor to see our friend DJ. A man approached us claiming he was the manger. He showed us where the bathroom was. Shortly after he welcomed himself in the bathroom where he pinned us against the wall and proceeded to put his hands on us after we screamed. There was no security at this facility and by the time we called the cops the man had left. I hope this is a lesson to the hotel that their guests are at risk for something like this to happen again. When we confronted him in the lobby, where I took a picture, he doubted we were of age to be at the bar. There was no one to turn to. There was no one to hear our screams. We deserved better than this.

Yelp
We came here for a work happy hour and had such a great time! The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food and drinks were delicious. This is a great spot to watch the sunset too. Highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Customer service seems to be a lost art these days but not here! Little hidden gem. Don't let the old bones fool you! The rooms are nicely renovated. Ocean view while lying in bed. A few steps from the hotel is a direct path down to the water with a little private beach area. Roof top restaurant, a quick walk to downtown. Plenty of things right here but the best part about this place is the customer service. They text every day to check on you as well as asking if you need anything as you enter and exit. We requested ice and we had it delivered to a room within minutes. We will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Beautiful and romantic cozy room with an ocean view. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for a Laguna getaway. The front desk team was so accommodating for our stay, they truly made my birthday visit special. The beach is about 30 seconds away, and many great restaurants and bars are only a 5 minute walk. Try the roof top around sunset too. I hope to go again soon.

Yelp
Had a wonderful stay! Beautiful room - right off the beach. You can borrow beach towels and umbrellas too which is a huge plus! The Rooftop dining was amazing as well - every food item was delicious. The hotel staff was super sweet and helpful too. 10/10 stay, would recommend!

Yelp
It is always good to stay at Casa Del Camino. The empolyees are friendly and want your stay to be excellent. I will certainly return for anther stay. The restaurant and rooftop bar are most enjoyable.

Yelp
My wife and I were married here and loved The Rooftop and the ambiance of the hotel. We spent many afternoons looking over the ocean on the rooftop and having good food at the happy hours in the downstairs restaurant. Unfortunately, something has happened in the last year to this place. The rooftop food is terrible and the drinks nowhere near the quality they once were. This last weekend was the final straw. We tried their new tapas restaurant since we love tapas and were hoping for some type of redemption for the hotel. All I can say is YUCK! The tapas menu didn't even have standard items such as Patatas Bravas or Pan con Tomate. We tried the octopus and the Gambas Al Ajillo. The octopus was cold, tough and chewy and the shrimp overcooked. The only redeeming quality was the toast that we managed to stomach with the Ajillo sauce. What a disappointing result for what was once a standard recommendation for all our visiting friends. No more. I hope the accountants and penny pinchers can get out of the way so someone can breathe life into this now lifeless destination.

Yelp
Great small boutique hotel right in the heart of Laguna. Excellent food and amazing location!

Yelp
We stayed here on a Travelzoo deal and really enjoyed it overall. The dal waived the resort fee (whatever that is) and included a bottle of wine, which I very much enjoyed. Free parking was in a lot about a block away. It's a lovely place, the staff were super friendly (including front desk, rooftop restaurant, and cleaning staff), there were free snacks and coffee/tea available for most of the day), and we felt comfortable at this hotel, even though the room was a bit small.

Yelp
This hotel is so cute, it's on the corner and you can see the ocean from the rooftop bar. I forgot to take a picture of the room. It's very quaint and clean. The hotel itself looks like a throwback from the early Laguna days. Once you go outside the room, you can hear the noise from the restaurant downstairs and the bar upstairs. It's definitely lively and fun!

Yelp
Rustic feel in the midst of Laguna flare... We stayed here to celebrate a Thanksgiving get-away. Such a delight from the service, to the quality of the rooms, art decor, rooftop bar, & location, location, location. This place gives you walking distance to the beachfront. Be cautious, high tide at night. 5 minutes driving distance to downtown Laguna. Beautiful memories with great delight. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Reserved a spot for my husband's birthday (Tuesday night). 5:30 PM and the place was hopping! Did not feel crowded. Nice view of the ocean and sunset, umbrella covered tables. Server Jacob did excellent for his first night. Tropical Mojito was so refreshing! Calamari, light so as not to fill us before our meal. Service was a little on the slow side, but possibly because there was filming for a tv show happening this particular night. Penne with Shrimp, Salad with Chicken. Comfortably filling!

Yelp
I absolutely love this hotel! I stay here every time I'm in Laguna. It's small and quaint. The rooms are older but full of charm. Try to get the surf rooms, if available. They are rooms that have been designed by local surf companies. So cute! Plus it has a rooftop bar/restaurant. Very well priced. Highly recommended!!
