Google
lovely little sit down restaurant with a super cute interior design scheme. we ordered two pizzas and a pasta. very creative and interesting fusion flavors! i really enjoyed the yakult berry drink and the salmon pasta. would definitely come again, especially if they bring back the previous dessert selection.

Google
This restaurant combines the flavor pallets of Japanese and Italian cuisine in a very interesting way. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing flavors they came up with. I had an Italian meat sauce and a pork cutlet on top that was made Japanese style. The flavors blended perfectly. You must try this place.

This place is a hidden gem, the location was not easy parking, but the interior space was cute and floral, our food was great, we ordered one pizza, one pasta and one fries, it’s enough to feed three people with a fair price. I love pizza, very Italian taste! Our pasta was chewy & juicy!! I believe we definitely want to come again!

Went for dinner- My favorite was the tofu pizza (age), it was a good portion to share and was a good fusion with tofu, soy sauce, and cheese and it was a thin crust. The pastas I thought were fine, the portions were small and didn’t hit as much of a fusion taste as the pizza. The reason why I say it’s not as fusion is because I feel like it was a regular spaghetti dish with a bit of fish roe on top/side. The curry casserole was also ok, lacked a bit of kick in the flavor and was a small portion as well. Other than it’s a really great environment with nice indoor and outdoor seating and a little Photo Booth area with props.

I came in the evening for dinner and was seated right away without waiting. The fusion food was good and different from the normal Italian restaurants. I can see why this restaurant is popular with the unique twist in recipes. While the interior is not very spacious, the ambience of the place is very cozy and had an instagram/foodie vibe. There’s an area where you can take aesthetic pictures.

Pastas were amazing. Apparently the mentaiko cream pasta is very popular. My personal favorites were: - seafood pescatore (bianco): so much flavor in the soup sauce from all of the seafood! - carbonara: lots of umami from the Parmesan (but maybe also tasted a hint of beef? broth) Cooked on the firmer side, but I personally might prefer a little firmer - I will consider asking for al dente next time.

I have heard a lot about this place and it has been on my radar for a while. Went with some colleagues. First of all, this place serves some seriously delicious and great value food for sure! We ordered a variety of food - from the risotto to pizza and pasta. Their salmon shimeji mushroom risotto was so flavorful with strong umami taste. Only surprise and complaint was the serving portion too little/small. I think the risotto and the Mentaiko mochi mayo cheese pizza are the highlights! The spicy cod roe and mentaiko mayo and mochi added to the pizza gave it a uniquely delicious and creamy texture with thin crispy crust that we like. I would come back for these two dishes. We also had their vegetable pomodoro pasta which has good flavor profile but nothing special in my opinion. Service was average. Kept asking if we needed any other order (few times- once not long after we were seated and our food has not been served to us yet?!). I guess the waitress and kitchen wanted to wrap up by 2pm for their break. That was the only complaint I have. Ambiance - they have two outside tables for those who like outdoor dining. Parking can get a little tough in that plaza during day.

Google
A friend recommended this place so I decided to pay a visit. Overall, the food is good. For drinks, I had the ume soju cocktail — tastes okay, but the drink menu lacks creativity and feels like something I could easily recreate at home. We had the honey mustard chicken as an appetizer and the Mentaiko cream pasta as the main course. The pasta was excellent, with a creamy and well-balanced flavor. The fried chicken, however, had a coating that was too thick, which made it a bit heavy.

Yelp
During my trip to Japan, I thought they some of the best pasta I've ever had. And ever since then I've always thought that Japanese Italian fusion could be really fun! When I found out about La Casa Mia, naturally I got really curious! We got their bacon peperoncino pasta, salmon shijmeji mushroom risotto, and their mentaiko mochi cheese pizza. Both the pasta and the risotto were really good! I wish there was a little more flavor in the bacon peperoncino, but otherwise very good. But the mentaiko mochi pizza was SOO GOOD it surprised us so much. The snap from the sausage, the savory umami notes from the mentaiko, the bounce and chew from the mochi, and the mild creamy cheese. It all worked so well together. I would come JUST for this dish, it's that good. I can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Quaint little restaurant that brings the flavors of Japanese and Italian, together in one. This little restaurant, may be small in size but has big flavors! Plates like salmon shimeji risotto with tabiko or uni pasta are quite the delite. Their krarage chicken peices were ginormous and absolutely filling as an appetizer. Cutely decored like a place with barn style benches against the wall, cute decorative pillows and soft cushions, you can have a nice and quiet relaxing meal with a friend, a date, a relative where you can actually hear each other speak. While i don't recommend large groups, 1-4 people seats well here. They can accommodate bigger as they have outdoor seating. While they focus on quality over quantity, if you're absolutely starving or looking for a big plate of food, maybe save this for another occasion. Menu offers a variety of protein option and can be vegetarian friendly, but limited

Yelp
more like ~3.5 stars the risotto was the best part! super flavorful. good consistency. loved the salmon pieces. the pork cutlet pasta was just okay. the bolognese was super basic. the pork cutlet was a bit oily and had no seasoning. the mentaiko mochi mayo pasta was also just alright. nothing too special. good consistency. this was a good amount for 3 people. we had some left overs. would come back to try their other dishes. it wasn't too busy on a saturday night. recommend making a reservation so you're seated inside.

Yelp
This place is surprisingly really good!! And perfect for Asian tastebuds!! We got the bread, the pasta, and the pizza and they were all sooooo good! We fully enjoyed our meal here :))

Yelp
I've had this restaurant on my radar for the longest time, and I finally got to come here for dinner with my boyfriend on a Saturday evening. I liked how you could make reservations online on their website via OpenTable, as this was super convenient. We also had no issues finding parking in the plaza they are located in. My boyfriend and I decided to order a few dishes to share: 1) Sukiyaki (Sweet Shoyu Beef) Pasta: This was me and my boyfriend's favorite dish that we ordered. The sukiyaki sauce was delicious, and all the ingredients worked well together. I also loved the shimeji mushrooms a lot. 2) Meat Sauce with Pork Cutlet Pasta: The pork cutlet was just alright on its own. Eating all the components together at once (pasta, meat sauce, and cutlet) was the way to go for this dish. The meat sauce had a nice flavor, and I enjoyed it overall. I would say get this pasta if you're a fan of spaghetti with meatballs. 3) Mentaiko Mayo Mochi Cheese Pizza: I wanted to like this item more, but I wasn't the biggest fan of it personally. While the mochi had a nice chewiness to it, I feel like it didn't really belong on the pizza. I really liked the potatoes on this pizza, though, and I appreciated the variety of textures it offered on each slice. Our total before tax and tip was $82. I do wish the tables were a bit bigger, as our food and plates all barely fit at once. However, our servers were very attentive and I enjoyed the garden/tea party vibes of the restaurant's decor. Overall, I would come here again for another date night to try some of their other pizzas and pastas.

Yelp
I visited Casa Mia after seeing a video of this place online, and it looked pretty good. The food was okay, nothing great. I did not enjoy the tofu skin pizza (it felt like it was missing something), but the carbonara was pretty good. All in all, the service was decent (regular service, nothing spectacular), and the food was okay. I personally don't think I'd come back here, unfortunately.

Yelp
It was fairly busy on a Monday evening around 7:30 PM but we got to sit outside. The table was fairly small for how much we ordered so we kept having to shift things around. Nowhere to put my bag (the back of the chairs were too round) so I just put it in my lap. The water glasses (mason jars with handles) weren't thoroughly cleaned since I found a piece of carrot stuck to the side and they smelled strongly of some savory dish which was a bit off-putting. The actual food is excellent though, albeit very salty even for me. Also a lot of saffron put on for some reason. The menu is different from the one online - no grilled wagyu steak, lemon beef tongue, or the nikujyaga potato stew that I wanted to order. They did have items on the menu not shown online though, such as a curry casserole rice dish. We ordered: 1. Honey mustard chicken (appetizer) They used chicken thighs so pretty juicy. The outside isn't too crispy (even the pieces not covered in sauce) but somehow felt "hard" - not stale, but I'm not sure how to describe it because it wasn't really the same as overcooked meat either. Beautifully battered though. It came with spring mix on the bottom so that the sweet honey mustard became a dressing after we ate the chicken. 2. Tokyo style takoyaki (appetizer) Presentation was interesting - each ball came on its own soup spoon. Actual taste was standard - very savory batter with pieces of octopus in it, and covered in bonito flakes and saffron. 3. Kimuchi mochi casserole rice It's kimchi on rice covered with cheese, pieces of mochi, and more saffron. Tasty overall though it's like appetizer-sized - if you had 8 people in a party, each person could probably have just one large bite. 4. Mentaiko mayo mochi cheese pizza This was amazing. The spicy cod roe and sausage went so well with the tomato sauce and cheese. It also came with a side container of ranch dressing but the pizza was so savory already that it didn't add any extra dimension to the flavors. It's thin crust so the dough doesn't clash with the flavors.

Yelp
Came by on a Friday afternoon (around 1145am) with my husband and sister for lunch. They had a few tables going but weren't completely full so we were seated fairly quickly. La Casa Mia specializes in Japanese Italian fusion and I'll be honest, I love Japanese Italian fusion. There are not enough of these restaurants! They have a lunch special available on weekdays as well. It comes with a salad, soup, a slice of pizza, and your choice of pasta. My sister opted for the special and it came with a slice of Margherita and she chose carbonara for her pasta. I decided to get their salmon shimeji spaghetti, which had salmon, shimeji mushroom, butter, soy sauce, green onion, daikon radish, and flying fish roe. I personally really liked the pasta. The texture of the pasta was great -- al dente. The sauce was light but still had a good umami to it. The salmon pieces were cooked well. The flavors all combined quite well. My husband went with their mentaiko mayo mochi cheese pizza, which had tomato sauce, spicy cod roe, mayo, mochi, sausage, potato, mentaiko mayo and greens. We've never had a Japanese styled pizza before so this was our first experience. We really enjoyed it. The mentaiko mayo definitely pulls it all together. It's a thin crusted pizza so it's not mochi bread pizza. There's mochi scattered about with the cheese so you actually can't tell it's mixed in until the pizza cools down and the mochi hardens back up. We really enjoyed this dish! Nothing was too overly heavy or overwhelming. Everything was really pleasant and I would come back for their food.

Yelp
La Casa Mia is one of the few remaining restaurants in the Bay Area serving up "Yoshoku" (Japanese-Western Cuisine). They do it well because I loved everything I ordered, especially the mentaiko mochi pizza, which was chewy with the perfect crisp crust and salty bites of the mentaiko. The pizzas here are big and come cut in 8 slices so they're perfect for sharing. The carbonara is also a delicious pasta and I'd recommend it for first comers. The shoyu beef pasta is great if you want something umami and light. The mustard chicken appetizer was crispy and juicy. I'd come back for the katsu bolognese pasta and mushroom medley pizza. They also have a lunch special for $18.50 on weekdays. Service was fast but I wish they had comfier seating. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Great customer service and reservations are highly recommended. My husband and I went for a brunch date and we were lucky enough to snag two seats outside (it was cold and windy). We ordered: Eggplant parmigiana - this was delicious! Little Japanese eggplants cooked to a crisp on a hot cast iron pan with cheese and meat sauce. It is a small appetizer portion so probably only shared amongst two people. Takoyaki - also super good and crispy! Came with 5 pieces. Meat sauce pasta w/ pork cutlet : 10/10 would recommend and to get again. This portion was quite large and my husband loved it. The spaghetti was cooked to perfection, the pork cutlet on top was good and so was the meat sauce. Uni pasta - lol please skip this. The uni was way too briny for my taste and the mentaiko probably just enhanced it. I couldn't finish it. It was a large portion size as well. Mentaiko pizza: it was average. The mochi crust was good but the cheese topping was overkill. It needed something to balance it out. The chewiness from the mochi crust and the cheese was too much. Overall, I'd come back for a date but maybe try a few other things from the menu! The presentation of food was great!

Yelp
Had to meet with my friends and choose this place since it's a fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisine. The place is cute and has a selfie area for social media's post. Service is not that great. Had to wait 5-6 mins to order and it's not even busy yet. Had to wait for napkins because our server forgot. But when we paid our check our server was so attentive for us to leave the place. She said "due to our small dinning." But there wasn't any customers outside. But check out what we ordered.

Yelp
I was looking forward to Japanese/italian but I think this place just didn't do the trick for me. I got the lunch special that they have on Wednesday/Thursday to have an assortment of things. The pasta was probably my favorite of the assortment but probably not my favorite mentai cream pasta. The pizza seemed on the softer side. The soup was flavorful. The salad was a regular salad. Make sure you make a reservation and to come on time. They close early for lunch on Wednesday and doors officially closed at 1:30 so you need to finish by then. They have a really small Photo Booth area near the entrance that may be easy to miss.

Yelp
The food was very flavorful and you could taste every ingredient. The pizza was quite filling and worth the cost. The pasta was slightly small in portion but still very flavorful. I also recommend the truffle fries. Service was very kind and checked in appropriately. The ambiance was also very homey and cute. Great for a date night.

Yelp
La Casa Mia is such a vibe! I love Japanese and Italian food, so together it just makes sense. I love the aesthetic of the place paired with delicious food. I've visited a couple times already for brunch and dinner. The menu is pretty similar but there's lunch/brunch sets which is nice. Pizzas are served during dinner time. The fries with truffle oil are always a must order for me. They're great and crispy usually. Sometimes they can be a little soggy but I like when it's a mix of both. The truffle oil is not too overwhelming in my opinion. It comes with a side of Japanese Mayo which is sometimes what I use to dip fries at home too. Super light and doesn't taste too oily for me. Pastas are super creamy and delicious. The umami flavor for the uni pasta and the mentaiko cream pasta were chef's kiss. The quality in ingredients really makes a difference. I've had the Mentaiko Mochi Cheese Pizza twice but honestly it's alright. It's good but nothing too crazy. I wish the mochi stood out more but it didn't shine for me. I would be interested in trying their other pizzas though. Service is always tremendous! They're great at memorizing each tables orders without the need to write them down. The staff is always very attentive and friendly. Overall, I do recommend trying this place.

Yelp
This place has been on my to try list after seeing it on my Instagram feed. I love a good Mentaiko pasta so I was curious to try it at La Casa Mia. We finally came to celebrate my fiancés' birthday. I got the mentaiko cream spaghetti since I love mentaiko and he got the meat sauce tonkatsu. Both were delicious! His portion was very large and the tonkatsu was very crispy and well done in breading. We also got a pizza to share since we saw the table next to us had one and it looked to be a popular dish. We honestly were super full when the pizza came but I tried a slice. It was interesting with the mochi texture and I dipped it in the sauce that it came with which turned out to be ranch. I think overall it was alright as I couldn't taste the mentaiko that well and it was mostly a cheese pizza to me. Would probably skip ordering this again and just go for the pastas. Overall it was a delicious meal and the restaurant is super cute and decorated like a little cottage. Seating at the table was a bit awkward because of how low the table is when seated in the corner table by the window.

Yelp
I had heard a lot of hype on La Casa Mia but unfortunately, it did not deliver. We came without a reservation and got seated, though it was a full house. It's a pretty small place so expect to sit quite close to others. It felt kind of like we were at someone's house -- which might be what they are going for due to the name? It was also super hot outside and inside.. I ordered takoyaki to start, as well as the mentaiko cream pasta. The takoyaki was decent, nothing special. The mentaiko cream pasta though, was a let-down. Not only was it not hot temperature-wise, but it was also tasteless. When I asked for some salt and added it to the dish, it didn't amplify it as much as I had hoped. It just felt like it was lacking in the umami and depth department. My husband got the meat sauce pasta with pork cutlet which was definitely better than mine, but still overall not comparable to any Japanese & Italian fusion restaurants in Japan, sadly.

Yelp
We came here for lunch on the weekend and were seated very promptly (under a reservation). They had both indoor and outdoor seating and the decoration is cute. We ordered 2 appetizers: the honey mustard chicken - the pieces were quite large which made it a bit harder to eat but the flavor was good especially with the sauce, the baguette slices with smoked whipped butter - the baguette was toasted to perfection and the butter was definitely smoky (niche comparison - but it reminded me of an agarbathi flavor - idk how else to describe it). We got a few drinks but the berry yakult was the table favorite (our server recommended) and the honey lemon soda was good as well. For mains I would definitely recommend trying the risotto (which was very good with a strong fusion flavor), and the menkaito pasta was good as well, my favorite was the mushroom pizza, but we enjoyed all of our mains. Would recommend, for groups definitely make a reservation and this could be nice for a date night as well.

Yelp
Ordered the risotto appetizer that comes with mushroom, roe, & salmon. Pretty yummy. For my entree my carbonara came with a poached egg on top. Pretty neat! His meat sauce was good with pork cutlet. Place is really cute italian and japanese fusion. Made reservations for 5:30pm on a saturday and received food at a good pace. Would come again to try the sangria and soju.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! i havent had the privilege to try their milpitas location yet, but i hope to soon! all of the items on their menu look so delicious and intriguing! i've tried many japanese italian restaurants in the bay and socal and i would def say la casa mia is among the top restaurants ive tried. it is perfect for a date night as the interior is cute as well and the dishes they serve are so nicely plated. i would highly recc the chicken karaage as an appetizer and the mentaiko pasta as well! the service is very nice and attentive! i can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I came here since I was in the area and curious about an Italian-Japanese fusion. The place is nice, really unique like a cafe you can chill at although there's a 1.5 hour limit which is there in case it gets crowded. Food was pretty good, fries were good but felt too little for the cost. I liked the pasta and portion is decent for an Italian restaurant although it's very similar to yakisoba just with Italian pasta instead of soba. I think I would get pizza the next time.

Yelp
Italian and Japanese are my 2 favorite types of cuisine, so when I heard about La Casa Mia from a friend I added this straight to my Yelp Bookmarks and beelined right on over to this place! We lucky squeezed in during dinner time and were able to sit down right away without waiting, which was nice. The inside is very cottage-core with rustic accents and homey touches all throughout. The restaurant has a small market of goods from Japan, too, like little Miffy plates, bowls, and more. We ordered 4 things: - Bread with butter: fluffy and light with a light, whipped butter - Garlic edamame: edamame with plenty of garlic and chili oil - Mentaiko Risotto: salmon and roe in creamy risotto- beautifully plated and tasty, though pretty heavy and a smidge salty (if you like the saltiness of roe, it'll be perfect for you though) - Spaghetti Ragu with Tonkatsu: SO GOOD! The pasta sauce had a nice touch of wine which made it taste quite fancy, and the tonkatsu on top was a great addition. Servers were friendly and kind, and everything came out fairly quickly. Price came to just shy of $90 for those 4 things, which was slightly higher than I thought it would be considering we didn't get drinks or dessert, but all together the beautiful presentation, unique combinations of flavors, and overall quality made it worth it in my opinion! Stop by this place for a cool blend of cultures, especially if you're looking to try something new!

Yelp
10/10!!! We made a reservation for 7pm on a Friday and were seated right away. Baguette Slices: we were so surprised by how delicious these were. Super light and paired really well with the smoked whipped butter. We got all 3 refills!! Honey Mustard Chicken: crispy and so moist! Carbonara: fresh, chewy pasta with a creamy, umami sauce. Insanely good. Meat Sauce Mochi Pizza: the mochi added the perfect chew. Comfort food with such a fun twist. We loved every dish we tried. Next time around, I think we'd get one of the salads or edamame to balance out all the heavy food. We can't wait to come back and try the rest of their dishes!

Yelp
Food: delicious, many great looking options. We got Japanese beef potato and cheese stew, came in a skillet and was kinda dry for my taste but it has a sunny side egg in it which makes it extra creamy good. I got the mentaiko pasta with the seafood sides. The seafood came with clams, 2 mussels, 3 scallops and 2 shrimps. I think for the price that was very fair. My bf got a sukiyaki wagyu pasta and he said it felt very homemade and he liked that the pasta was fresh, the wagyu was cut against the grain, it made it a bit harder to chew for wagyu. Service: the servers were very nice and accommodating. Last call was at 8 though so be prepared to be there on time for ur reservation. I got a Berry Bliss drink and asked to put soju in Ambiance: Very much bistro, seats closer together type of vibe. Be prepared to have ur neighbors hear ur gossip lol. Don't pick the booth side if u don't like to crouch hella to eat. Personally i think they could've better sittings/chairs. Overall, I would come back

Yelp
An overhyped cute place that serves mid Japanese - Italian dishes with good services. The decoration is definitely worth the hype, very cute and cohesive in terms of design, but it's relatively small and if you come in during dinner, having a reservation comes in handy. The servers were definitely awesome though, they were attentive, friendly, and professional in their works. However, the foods were not that great for the price they come with. We got uni pasta and salmon risotto, they were both too salty and risotto were overcooked. The good thing was the uni was at least fresh and tasted good. If you're not going for the wines, just skip the beverage, they were not good nor special. Parking might be difficult during certain hours due to the market in the same plaza, otherwise it should be easy to find a free parking here.

Yelp
Pretty packed on a Sunday night so we ate outside in their little parking lot patio. Had to get my seat cushion because the tailbone was hurting on these hard seats. Same seats inside. Briing a jacket for after the sun sets. Takoyaki - 6 served in soup spoons - good crisp, very warm, little piece of octo Salmon mushroom Risotto - best in show - wifey says it was her fave Uni pasta - wifey liked it - pasta was well cooked and good serving size - I felt like the uni was a bit fishy but wifey says it's always like that Mentaiko Pizza - like the thin crust and fast firing - mentaiko cream was served separately - mochi was like potatoes - I think I would get the margherita next time Dessert pizza - def a bit strange bc it's just cheese pizza with fruit, chocolate syrup, and unlimited whipped cream from the can. - would have been cool if they left the can. - I liked the cheese pizza thus my margherita tights above Dbp said he was not a fan of these leftovers

Yelp
I would give it two stars for food since it was salty. I don't find it tasteful although the service is good.

Yelp
We came here on a Thursday night. We made a reservation a couple days before hand so we didn't have to wait. They have a weekday special of $6 appetizers, only the fries and takoyaki. 10% off pasta and $2 off the pizza! The dining area is very small, maybe like around 10 small tables inside. The booths were comfortable and had pillows. One of the tables have a party of 5 and they had to squish into a table made for 4. The service was overall just okay. There were only two of them serving, bussing, and food running. I am not sure if they intended to do that, but it just seemed a little bit too unorganized and stressful. Now about the food we ordered! mentaiko mayo mochi pizza- my favorite thing there! It was served very hot and there was a cheese pull with every bite! The mochi added a nice chewy texture along with the cheese. The crust was good and the flavor was there. Although it did taste like a normal cheese pizza with a little chewy texture. The big pieces of sausage were okay, but they didn't really need it. carbonara- very underwhelming. The yolk was overcooked, but overall, the pasta was bland. Had to ask for salt on the side which made it a little better. It was very creamy and the noodles were cooked well, but the flavor was just not there. yakult berry- sour!!! It tasted okay after the ice melted a little. Tastes a lot more like yakult than berry. tokyo style takoyaki- the flavor was very overwhelming and there is a lot going on. I like how they plated it though! Each takoyaki was served on an individual spoon. baguette slices- can refill up to three times! I think the bread was very simple and I enjoyed the whipped butter on the side.

Yelp
Oh La Casa Mia. In theory, I wanted to love you so badly as a blend of my two favorite cuisines (Japanese and Italian) but in actuality, you sadly fell short of my expectations In an unassuming parking lot, La Casa Mia surprisingly had all of its tables reserved on a Tuesday night so only counter seating was available which I did not mind. At first glance, the flowery decorations on the window sills and colored walls seemed to make for an interesting theme while coming in. As it got busy with reservations, it also seemed slightly short-staffed as only one server was helping to serve food and seat everyone. Many unique items on the menu caught my eye, including a dessert pizza. We settled on the sukiyaki pasta, mentaiko mochi pizza and eggplant parmigiana. The eggplant parmigiana came out fresh and hot with good flavor. The sukiyaki pasta was good but I've tasted similar at other restaurants. My vote for the mentaiko mochi pizza - skip it. It was not hot, the flavor barely tasted of mentaiko and I didn't taste the mochi either. Overall, for its price tag averaging $20+ per dish, I would say that the dishes are not justified by their prices. However, I would be willing to give this place one more try given its potential with the eggplant dish and unique menu items

Yelp
I've been to this location as well as the Milpitas location and they're both very solid. This at the time, my friend and I got the risotto, the mentaiko pasta, the mustard chicken, and the meat sauce pizza. The flavors didn't disappoint, but I do think the pasta was slightly overcooked. The meal wasn't cheap, but it also wasn't crazy expensive. I definitely think if you haven't tried Japanese-Italian food that it's worth. One complaint I do have though, is that, but table space is kind of small.

Yelp
La Casa Mia is a Japanese/Italian fusion restaurant. They offer a lot of great dishes. I would highly recommend the salmon and mushroom risotto but I'd recommend it as a appetizer or something to share rather than a main course because it's a fairly heavy dish. I'd recommend the mentaiko pasta and the baguettes as well. I'd highly recommend making a reservation or going early (around the time that they open).

Yelp
A new experience I was skeptical when I heard about a place specializing in Japanese Italian fusion but this place actually makes tasty food! We started off with the mushroom pizza which was stacked with tons of umami flavor. Would have liked a little more undercarriage but the edges were nice and crispy. For the mains, we tried their uni pasta which was very reminiscent of a seafood pasta. The uni and tobiko complemented nicely. My fav was the Wagyu pasta with pork cutlet - it's like chicken parm but better. Katsu was crispy and juicy. Prices here are very reasonable for what you get. Excellent service as well

Yelp
I'm so glad I finally made it to this place. It was delicious! I made reservations for lunch on a rainy afternoon. I know they get busy, so definitely make that reservation. It was right at opening and not too packed yet, but when we left, it was definitely more crowded. My friend and I shared a pasta and pizza. We wanted to try uni pasta and mentaiko pizza, but she is pregnant, so definitely next time, we're going to give those a try. The meat sauce pasta with pork cutlet was so good, though! The pork was crispy but juicy on the inside, and the pasta was delicious too! They just went well together. The mushroom pizza was amazing, too. We both love mushrooms, so this was definitely a great choice for mushroom lovers. So much flavors, and the crust was just right! We brought some leftovers and just needed to pop it in the oven, and it was still as good! I will definitely come back here and try other dishes on the menu. I'll probably go for dinner since their menu is a bit different compared to lunch. The place is small but super cute, and the staff were attentive!

Yelp
Came in for dinner on a Sunday night. We sat at the couch area with many cushions this time- it was quite nice! They've updated their menu and there are quite a few new options. We got a Beef & Potato Stew to share, Carbonara, Spaghetti Meat Sauce with Pork Cutlet, Salmon Shimeji Risotto and Salmon Shimeji Pasta. Everything was delicious, but the stew & the risotto really stood out! The stew had so much flavor and the potato's absorbed it all! I wish it came with white rice lol. It could totally be an entree if you just order plain rice to go with it. The risotto - salmon roes bursting in your mouth with every bite and the creaminess of it all, I can eat another bowl right now. The staffs are nice as usual, love La Casa Mia! Thanks for a wonderful evening once again!

Yelp
I mainly came here for its mentaiko dish. The mentaiko spaghetti is delicious and I love how they added fish roe to give a little popping texture. I also recommend the salad and spicy arrabiata spaghetti paired with the sausage and potato. I personally wouldn't get the beef tongue again, but my boyfriend enjoyed it. It's a little over done personally. I'm looking forward to come back next time to try the mentaiko mochi pizza :)

Yelp
Ah, I feel a little bad for leaving this rating, but I was just not too impressed by this restaurant. The idea is good - chic Japanese Italian fusion. Unfortunately, execution falls a bit short.. Prior to visiting the restaurant, I had heard good things and had seen a few photos of their food - not too much. Because of that, I was expecting a mature, trendy, and "nice" restaurant. Stepping in, it immediately felt a bit cheaper & much younger than I was expecting - sort of like college town brunch vibes? A little more cutesy than chic. In comparison though, the plates & silverware felt much more substantial and "nice", which is where I started feeling like the intention didn't quite meet execution. Service was friendly, but also felt a bit junior & fresh. It sort of felt like a group of friends who had decided on trying to open a restaurant together. In and of itself, that's not a bad thing. It just took away from the vibes I think they were intending. We ordered the mentaiko pizza, uni pasta, and salmon mushroom risotto. This is where I really felt their intention & idea: the dishes (especially the pasta dishes) were plated elegantly, and on plates that didn't feel cheap at all. And the food was good! The uni pasta took a little while to grow on me, but grow on me it did. It's less creamy than other versions I have tried, but equally as flavorful. The salmon risotto was a surprise hit - they managed impart the salmon flavor without being too fishy. And, there was a lot of salmon, yum! The mentaiko pizza wasn't as good as the pastas. It was a pretty good pizza, but I didn't really taste the mentaiko (maybe they should've put it on after baking?), and the cheese was a little bit too much compared to the thinness of the crust. Overall, I would say La Casa Mia was okay, but perhaps falls short of intention. I'm hoping maybe they will get better over time, and that the owners continue trying out their ideas & craft in this competitive industry!

Yelp
A cute restaurant that serves some unique dishes. I liked how their pasta dishes are done: noodles and sauces. Pizzas were good too. My only disappointment: dressing on salad and tuna sashimi were identical... It's been very nice if the servers could have alerted me on this fact when I ordered both. The sauce in question was too tart and lacked flavor. I strongly recommend making a reservation.

Yelp
Such a cute and beautifully decorated local gem! Saw this on IG & decided to drop by for lunch. There's a little photo nook with ring light, tripod, and cute calligraphy signs for occasions like birthdays anniversary etc, as well as fun props for the cutest photobooth! The restaurant itself was so cute too with a sage green theme accented by pale pink & yellow lemons. Perfect IG friendly spot which is rather rare in the Bay. Our food was delicious too, I got the salmon risotto which was so rich and delicious and we also got the famous mochi pizza! The mochi parts were so soft and the texture was a great contrast to the pizza. The sauce we got to pour on the pizza complemented it so well too. The other dish was a teriyaki noodle which was not as memorable. Overall, would definitely recommend coming here for the cute aesthetics and their unique & delicious mochi pizza!

Yelp
Great service and great food! 5 adults and 3 kiddos (2 infants and one 2yo). We had a great time sitting outside. Make a reservation if you have a big group as it is a small place. I would love to come back and try more food. The pizza was okay but I loved the pasta and the kids plate. The most beautiful kids plate!

Yelp
Food wise, Kind of mid lowkey, like a bit more higher prices and small portions. Service and vibe, I do like the vibe of the spot, very cozy and sit down. Service was run of the mill. Still a good spot, but idk if I would go out of my way to recommend. Still, not bad!

Yelp
My party of three came on a Saturday evening and waited around 30 minutes to be seated which wasn't too bad. Right off the bat, service was very friendly and remained friendly throughout our meal. We ordered Takoyaki, the Mentaiko Cream Tagaliatelle, Mentaiko Mayo Mochi Cheese Pizza, and Salmon and Ikura Spaghetti. First impression was that the food was plated very nicely. The Mentaiko Pizza was a little underwhelming as it kind of just tasted like any other thin crust cheese pizza. I didn't really taste the mentaiko or any of the other ingredients. It came with a lot of cheese and the portion was bigger than I was expecting. I was able to share with the rest of my party since their pasta portions were smaller. The Salmon and Ikura Spaghetti was ok, it tasted like stir fried noodles. The Mentaiko Cream Pasta was the best of the three meals. It was light and creamy. However, the portions for the pasta were smaller and I don't feel they were worth the price. Overall, nothing we ordered was really amazing, and I probably wouldn't crave any of the meals here; I guess I was expecting more unique and memorable flavors. Great service and cute atmosphere though! I liked the concept of Japanese style Italian food and am glad I tried it.

Yelp
Came here on a whim with my mom for a little lady's meal for valentines weekend. No reservation so we came right at opening and got the last couple seats at the bar for walk ins. Would highly recommend reservations as they won't seat you at a table if they have a reservation even an hour later. Parking can also be difficult around meal time surprisingly. But I guess the Plaza is popular! We were excited to try the restaurant so we got a nice variety for two people: - baguette slices ($6 with up to 3 refills): this was a plate of 5 toasted baguette slices. Nothing to write hone about but a good vessel for our pasta sauce. We made sure to get our 3 refills though. - honey mustard chicken ($12): this was nice and crunchy. The honey mustard was tasty too. They definitely gave enough sauce. Chicken was tender and juicy - carbonara ($19): our favorite dish we ordered. Came with a poached egg and was a very tasty pasta. Decent sized. Lots of oil but good for dipping our baguettes into - mentaiko mayo mochi cheese pizza ($21): this was our most disappointing one. The pizza is impressively thin and solid. But the mentaiko taste was not very spread out. Not a lot of mochi pieces either so it was not the texture bomb we were expecting. Luckily it came with ranch but I think they can tweak it so it a a true mentaiko mayo pizza is just tasting like a regular cheese pizza with some hints of mentaiko every now and then. The place itself is very cute, and service is great. Food came out in a timely manner and water was refilled often. I would probably come one more time to try the other pastas and the takoyaki, but overall, flavors were there, just not quite executed as well on some dishes.

Yelp
La Casa Mia is a Japanese-Italian fusion restaurant. I kept seeing them pop up on my TikTok feed, so I felt like it was time to finally try them. We came on a Wednesday evening around 7pm and were able to get seated pretty quickly, but each table was still full. We ordered the Sukiyaki Pasta and Mentaiko Mayo Cheese Pizza. Both dishes were just fine and not very memorable. The Sukiyaki Pasta's sauce was too sweet, and the portion was very small. The pizza just felt like an average thin-crust pizza. I've definitely had better Japanese, Italian, and Japanese-Italian fusion food elsewhere. We felt that La Casa Mia was just okay and not worth the price. The ambiance seemed cute but honestly felt kind of forced. My general thoughts are that they have really cool ideas, but the execution was lacking. From both the food to the decor, they were going in the right direction but fell short of actually hitting the target. However, the service was great, and our waiter was super kind. Overall, I think this place is overhyped and probably wouldn't come back.

Yelp
Was hoping to rate this higher, but unfortunately it just fell short. We made reservations on a Monday night but probably didn't need to since there was only one other couple seated when we arrived. The place is small and "cute" - maybe too cute as in it felt a little childish? We ordered the following: * Nikujyaga Potato Stew La Casa Mia Style - Japanese Beef & Potato Stew with Cheese ($14) * Carbonara - Egg Yolk, Parmesan, Cream, Bacon ($19) * Meat Sauce Pasta with Pork Cutlet - Meat sauce, Parmesan, Black Pepper with Fried Pork Cutlet ($28) Out of the dishes, we really enjoyed the stew appetizer - it had the right balance of sweet/savory and was very good. Unfortunately, our main pasta dishes were underwhelming. The carbonara was rich and creamy with the bacon giving it a nice smoky flavor but the noodles were more of a ramen consistency and somehow turned soggy very quickly - it just didn't taste good together. In contrast the meat pasta somehow did not have enough flavor, and the pork was very fatty, so only ate half. We were going to go ahead and try a dessert, but the only item being offered was a kitten or bear shaped cookie with two additional chocolate cookies for $10? No thanks... Service was polite and friendly, but felt the prices were a little high in comparison to the portion sizes - highly doubt there will be a return visit.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night with no reservation for a party of 3. The wait was around 40 minutes which is not the worst with no reservation. Upon entering we got seated at the bar. Which was very spacious. The only thing I wish was they closed the door because sitting at the bar became really cold due to the door being open the entire time. Food wise it was very yummy! 4/5 spicy carbonara I felt like this carbonara was very saucy, def needs to come with a peace of bread or something to soak up the sauce. The taste didn't really remind me of a carbonara but if you consider it a yummy pasta it passes. 5/5 the salmon risotto This was our favorite dish of the night. It was so comforting and homey tasting. It just felt like a hug. I am not usually a fan of risotto but this had me rethinking my ways 5/5 mentaiko pizza This was soooo yummy. The sausage pieces and the mentaiko paired so well. And I love how thin the pizza is. I want to try all the other pizza flavors Rinko cocktail - was very refreshing I got the Mikan one and it was perfect

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Amazing food. I miss this type of western food. The menu is really similar to the western food you see in Japan. My favorite is the mentaiko pizza! Worth the wait. Worth the money. Service: polite and friendly. Attentive and very organized on the timing of food. Ambiance: nice place for special occasion. Must make a reservation to avoid waiting.

Yelp
Very cute restaurant with outdoor seating. Looked cozy out and inside. You might have to wait 20-30 minutes if you do not have a reservation. We got the nikujyaga beef stew for apps, wagyu sukiyaki tagliatelle with hot sauce on the side and the mentaiko mayo mochi cheese pizza. Let me preface, currently pregnant so no raw food. But the raw options look amazing. Will be back! The 'beef stew' is not a stew but it's delicious! Sukiyaki, cheese and potatoes! 4/5 Wagyu sukiyaki tagliatelle was really good, not as watery as the photos. The hot sauce on the side went really well with it! 5/5 Mentaiko mayo mochi cheese pizza had crazy pull and the sausage went so well with it. The ranch sauce also complimented it super well. 5/5 Berry Yakult was ok. 3/5 Probably won't get it again. The alcoholic ones look good but I'll try that next time we're back!

Yelp
Nice service and the food is amazing. Their mentaiko spaghetti was to die for! I tried my friend's risotto and is was good too!
