Hidden Vegan Patio De Buena Planta Is Silver Lake’s Lush Summer Hangout | Eater LA

"Inside the building and just off the kitchen, La Casita is a small speakeasy-style cocktail spot focused on more complex cocktails and mezcal, led by bar director Lee Zaremba; it’s pitched as a place to catch an evening sip away from the fray or wind down after dinner with one last drink. La Casita opens Thursday, March 31 and will offer extended service to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights." - Farley Elliott

Marcus & Emmanuel are wonderful to have a banter with when you dine in. We ordered the Crispy Squid, Crispy Baby Squid & Seafood Paella 🥘 The squids were good but not the best neither are they bad. The seafood Paella is very flavourful. The main course menu would benefit with a more options to choose from. Overall, dinner was quite enjoyable mainly because of the staff.

We came here for dinner and were really impressed. The service is great and the staff are really friendly. We had goats cheese and honey bread, cold cuts and cheese board, ham and chicken croquettes which were amazing, white bait, pork and beef meatballs and the lemon chicken. For dessert I had biscoff cheesecake. The food was amazing one of the best tapas I’ve been to and the staff were great can’t recommend enough.

We are very lucky to get a table for three on Friday night without prior reservation. We are very impressed by the foods we ordered, everything is so delicious! I particularly love the seafood and chicken paella we ordered, the meat is generous, good amount for three people to share, so tasty! Also, the service is fairly attentive and quick, every staff is wearing a smile on their face. I haven’t enjoyed dining in a restaurant so much as today. Highly recommended!

We came for Valentine's Day, the food was all delicious, nothing was lacklustre, but special mention to the chorizo a la planta, I'd come back just for a whole plate of that stuff. Really warm, inviting atmosphere, friendly service and probably the best espresso martinis we've ever had, which is tough competition! We also thought the value was very reasonable, especially in Guildford. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a lovely evening!

The fish platter was so good- the fish was lightly seasoned - crispy outside and juicy and tender inside. The prawns were meaty and fresh. The sausages were nicely grilled and tasted right. The garlic prawn was surprisingly good. The zesty lemon was really a kick to the garlic and prawn. The desserts were nice and made the whole dinner experience unforgettable. Thanks for the nice and friendly staffs!

I’ve always really liked this restaurant - the food, service and atmosphere. One minor point, there is no cheese to sprinkle on your pasta when you ask for it! This has been the case in the last three times I’ve been, so I’ll go with my own Parmesan next time!

Yelp
We were for a short visit in Guildford and stumbled upon La Casita, a tapas restaurant in a smaller cosy street. The place is bustling, the staff is very friendly and the tapas are very tasty. Three came from the specials menu and were lovely. The other two came from the normal menu and were not bad either. A very nice place for a great dinner, be it small or bigger.

Yelp
One of my good friends from Scotland has been down south for the last year. Visiting her in Guildford has given me the excuse to try some different restaurants in a town that I don't frequent very often Chapel Street has a few independent restaurants close to each other and we chose La Casita for our latest meet. It's a Spanish restaurant serving tapas as well as more substantial dinner plates such as paella. We decided to stick with tapas. We ordered deep fried baby octopus off the specials menu and chose fabada asturiana (white bean stew with bacon, pork belly & black pudding), cordero a la plancha (grilled lamb chops on a bed of spinach) and gambas al pil pil (prawns with paprika, garlic & chilli) from the main menu. In addition, we ordered some bread, a must in tapas to soak up all those lovely juices. Slightly disappointing the bread didn't come included as in a lot of tapas places The food was lovely. Small dishes of well seasoned, well balanced Spanish classics. They didn't tune down the heat from the prawns for example and allowed us to get the real taste of Spain. Although the portion sizes did look a little small on arrival, we felt full enough by the end. Though not full enough to stop ordering crema catalana, their version of creme brulee made with some cinnamon in the custard. A nice light end to the meal La Casita is a good solid option for Spanish food. Together with Matahari and Loch Fyne on the same road, this area is a nice little dining area in Guildford

Yelp
Of my group of work colleagues, I was the only one that knows Spanish food. There are not many Spanish restaurants where I live, so I will always try to find one when I can. Since I studied in Granada, I've always been a fan of Andalusian style food. We ordered the tortilla, chorizo, lomo, manchego, croquetas de verdudas, patatas bravas, and gambas pil pil. There wasn't a single thing that I wouldn't order again. My companions were all happy with the food too, especially the chorizo and patatas bravas. I would definitely return to La Casita on my next visit to Guildford.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp one Saturday night when looking for somewhere nice to eat - and boy I'm glad I found it. Hidden away from the High Street it's got quite a nice feel to the place once you enter. We didn't book and that seemed to be OK, although I get the feeling they would have preferred a call beforehand. The menu and specials were pretty broad and covered most tapas you'd want. I can't remember what we ordered in the end but I was very impressed with the food and the service. The wine went down a treat as well!

Yelp
We were looking forward to trying this Spanish Tapas restaurant. Having been to Spain a few times and being married to someone Spanish I do know a bit about their lovely food! Tapas are a big part of their cuisine and at last they are over here! But we felt very let down when trying La Casita for the first time. (and last) As a restaurant that serves Tapas as their main menu and the staff being latin I was expecting much more. The atmosphere on a Saturday night seemed dull-despite the load latin dance music that was more fitting for a fiesta. Nothing seemed right, the decor, the lighting, the tables. It is nice to have a laid back feel (as they do in Spain) but this was too laid back to the point of being ignored. The food was expensive for the very small portions and out of five dishes ordered only two were on our tick list for authentic spanish food. We did mention that we were not happy and the staff attitude was very rude. It was a let down. For those wanting the real Spain give this place a miss!
