Google
Food is TASTY and PRICED reasonably! I ordered the Chicken Bowl with Yellow Rice and Black Beans. It was delicious! The chicken was moist and broke apart easy, the garlic crema sauce was perfect, and all the other ingredients made the dish come together! Service was quick and easy, had no issues there. The gentleman running the register was friendly and to-the-point, which I look for in restaurant biz. Atmosphere was slightly small, but great for outdoor eating or takeout! You will pull up to La Casita knowing it'll be good food just by looking at it! Compliments to the chef! ⭐️🇵🇷

Google
La Casita has one of the best rice bowls I've ever tasted! I love their food it is always fresh and hot and great portions for the price. Will always come back here when in the area!!

Google
Stopped in for lunch. Ordered the gaucho burger with papas brabas (spicy fries). They definitely stand up to their name. Cowboy and spicy. Two of my favorite things. Had to taste the homemade chimichurri & guava bbq sauce, as well. 10 out of 10.

Google
It's very easy to access off the highway and offers great options for basic clean Cuban food. You can even turn sides into kid-friendly meals, like their amazing sweet potato fries. If you're traveling, I recommend ordering ahead and picking it up before heading to your next stop. There’s a nice rest area to eat nearby, and while the picnic tables are perfectly fine, we didn't see any bathrooms available.

Google
This food is absolutely home vibes! I love the customization of the bowls and the flavor of all the food is phenomenal

Google
We've stopped here before and it was great so we made a return trip and all I can say is WOW!!! The spicy guava chicken sandwich was PHENOMENAL! I can't forget about the yuca fries that were so delicious! Thanks for a TASTY lunch!!!

Google
Best latin food around! La Casita consistently delivers high quality food and service. Anytime I'm feeling homesick I just grab a rice bowl or sandwich and Im instantly transported back to the Caribbean. Highly recommend!

Google
We found La Casita takeout restaurant in Kittery Maine unassuming but very, very good. We had their Gaucho Burger with papas bravas. And thought it truly was bsolutely delicious! 😋 Please don't be deceived by the small place or its location, because the food they will offer you is really for an easy fast food restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Easily the best restaurant food in the area and really inexpensive. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I got the beef bowl - so delicious. The staff is great and the service is very fast! I HIGHLY recommend making this your go to lunch spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here twice. To summarize: flavors were lacking, customer service is poor, all the hot sauces are empty and the place needs a deep clean, and the food is really expensive for what you get. My crab rangoon empanadas looked great but all the filling leaked out on the cook. When I had asked the worker how big the empanadas were (I was in the middle of my only break on a 9 hour shift so I needed to know!) he rudely said, "empanada sized." Oh, ok. Thanks for clearing that up. The $6 side of slaw was a joke. It lacked acid and salt. Sandwiches are fine but for 17$, it's simply too much.

Yelp
I always struggle to recommend a place in the seacoast that I feel confident will impress the most fussy foodies. Well this is it, my #1 place for value and quality (and I've been to almost every restaurant) I've tried most of the menu and have never been disappointed. The chef and I both recommend : Pork, yellow rice, red beans, guava BBQ, add spice. $13.99 The BBQ pork is tender, juicy, and brimming with the flavors of Puerto Rico. You can spend $100 downtown Portsmouth and leave less satisfied than from La Casita.

Colleen G.

Yelp
Service, price, food quality and great customer service La Casita will not disappoint you A must try!

David A.

Yelp
This place was good. The prices have steadily risen and quality has dropped. Just ordered the pork for $17 and it is terrible. I can't believe they served it. It is charred and fatty, no good meat at all. Expensive dish of rice and cabbage!

Kirsten J.

Yelp
It was quick. That's the only plus. I did not care for the chicken bowl. The place was dirty so I was skeptical before even eating it. Many other options in the area.

Ji Woo E.

Yelp
Loved it! Very small local pick up restaurant with a couple of picnic tables. They don't play with the amount of steak in the burger, the buns are so soft and veggies I can tell it's fresh. I'd visit again to try their bowl. Perfect place for a quick bite to satisfy your empty stomach. Will def go back to try thier famous bowl menu!

Steven C.

Yelp
The best I can say is 'meh..it was just ok'. Bagged coleslaw mix, canned beans, rice, some dry chicken in a bland sauce. It wasn't horrible but it was also nothing that I couldn't put together myself in 5 minutes and certainly not worth going back to for the price. 13.99 for that was a bit much

Yelp
Great food & quick! We wanted to try La Casita for a bit and now we know that we will be back! We had the pork & chicken bowl w/yellow rice and chimchurri sauce and the ahi tuna w/white rice with spicy sesame sauce. Both were very tasty and ready in about ten minutes (max!).
google avatar

Shayne S.

Yelp
This place is absolutely delicious! I can't recommend coming here enough. We got chicken bowls and sweet potato fries and it was out of this world. Affordable and authentic. Will definitely be back
google avatar

Anastasia M.

Yelp
Drove here for lunch with a friend and we both had the mahi mahi bowls. WOAH. The fish was super fresh, juicy and perfectly fried. The bowls were portioned well enough for two meals, but the food was so good that we couldn't stop ourselves. LOVED their selection of sauces to top off your bowl. If you're feeling real ambitious, get a side of the papas bravas. These are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and deliciously spicy.

Yelp
Fresh and delicious Cuban and Puerto Rican inspired "fast" food. Easy to pop off I95 at Kittery exit to little traffic circle. We have been stopping here for years, and the rice bowls seems to have gotten even better. Are you vegetarian or vegan? The tofu is absolutely delicious. As is the chimichurri sauce. And we often take extra Latin slaw home. Plenty for meat eaters, too. The people are friendly; one worker inside ran our order out to the car.
google avatar

Alexandra F.

Yelp
Delicious, authentic and reasonably priced. Great flavor and big portions. Worth every penny!

Kenneth D.

Yelp
I convinced my coworkers that they would enjoy the food from LA Casita. I brought 5 lunch orders to work today. My coworkers loved the food and wondered why we hadn't gotten food from LA Casita before? Delicious and plentiful!
google avatar

Heather R.

Yelp
Delicious!!! I got chicken + yellow rice + black beans + chimchurri sauce + slaw. The veggies were fresh, the meat slow cooked, and the sauces prepared with love. Will absolutely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
This brightly colored yet unassuming establishment holds the key to summer warmth on a cold Maine day. My husband and I were pleased to find that selecting and ordering vegan food was a simple process. The menu was clearly marked and the staff was able to provide ingredient information when we placed our order. Building a rice and bean bowl is a pleasure. Seasoned tofu was the available vegan protein, and the rest of the bowl was a choose your own adventure delight. I got black beans and guava barbecue sauce, and my husband chose red beans and chimichurri sauce. Both bowls were then heaped with crunchy, fresh Latin slaw and crisp potato sticks for a delightful texture contrast. It was with regret that we admitted defeat before finishing the generous portions. We also ordered sweet potato fries, served piping hot, crispy and well-salted. The selection of hot sauces available to amp up your lunch ranged from vinegary and bracing to XXXXHot, a great range for whatever palate you have. We are looking forward to our next visit to La Casita.

Yelp
First off, This is NOT Cuban Food! I'm from Miami and know what the heck am saying here, this place should not be called La Casita but instead "Bills uncle Ben bowls and sandwiches", the rice is obviously brown rice bags, the beans is strained and plain(not Cuban style), the chicken was rancid smelly abs not grilled as the menu specified but rather steamed and again rotten smelly. They top it off with the mix cabbage slaw Bjs sell for ready made slaw to make it all look pretty but the flavor is horrible. The guy at the window was absolutely rude and was not wearing any gloves for safety guidelines for CoViD... never again. Waste of money and time.

Danielle C.

Yelp
Delicious food and convenient location! I see why this place has such high reviews, it was yummy! We decided to jump off for lunch instead of crawl in traffic and we were all so glad we did! Parents, kids(2), and fur baby were happy with this stop. All of us were happy with our meals and the outside picnic tables are in the shade, which kept everyone happy on a hot summer day. Easy on easy off from the Highway.
google avatar

Camila S.

Yelp
Cozy spot with delicious food and great out door sitting. You can't miss it they are on the circle.

Emma D.

Yelp
WOW! We absolutely loved our meal. We were passing through and feeling frustrated with the lack on food options on our route. We took a chance on La Casita and it did not disappoint. Adorable little place with excellent service and extremely tasty tofu, beans, and sauce. Tofu was charred with nice seasoning and we loved the guava bbq sauce. We will be back asap!

Yelp
What a treasure. We ate here on our last day in Maine. We stumbled upon this hidden gem. My big picky family now loves cuban food. Throw a dart or just eat them in orde off the menu. The steak sandwiches are amazing, as is the Cuban, the pulled pork, the bowls The Bowls THE BOWLS. The sauces and spices are perfePlease visit so they keep growing the business. We travel north only once a year and I need this place to be around. It is now days later and we still talk about this place.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Mediocre food and expensive for what you get. Slaw is tasteless and empanadas were basically fried dough. Give me a break!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Amazing flavor, big portions, the staff was nice and the time from ordering to getting our food was quick. More of a spring/summer place because the seating is outdoors but you can definitely order your food to go or eat in your car. The food is amazing I got the steak sandwich with the papas bravas amazing!

Yelp
Who thought you could find a takeout Cuban joint on the traffic circle in Kittery Maine? This place was a wonderful surprise. The food is tasty and freshly made. They do have several sandwich offerings, but we both had bowls where you choose your protein, rice, beans and sauce. I had roast pork with yellow rice, pinto beans and chimichurri. Simply outstanding. About $10. We were lucky on this January day that it was sunny and in the 60s so we could eat at the picnic tables outside. Strictly take out.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great little restaurant in an unlikely location, an obscure corner of Kittery Circle. Fortunately, the building is a bright orange color and easy to spot. There is plenty of parking on site, as well as picnic tables if you want to eat there. My wife and I ordered rice bowls, one with Pork (absolutely delicious!) and one with Cuban Picadillo, which was also quite good. We both opted for yellow rice, she had both black and red beans, I had the black beans. All were cooked perfectly, nothing was mushy. The rice bowls are moderately priced with very generous portions of rice, beans and meat, topped with Latin Slaw. Inside there are a wide variety of spicy sauces if you wish to add some more spice to your dish. The staff are friendly and helpful in answering questions. Overall, we had a delicious and enjoyable lunch!

Yelp
Instead of doing circles around the rotary pull right and get into La Casitas. This was a great find for my small family. We ordered 3 Cubanos all different ways. It was nice they cooked to what we wanted. We also got a Mahi mahi bowl with the garlic sauce. That was off the hook, pun intentional. I will definitely be back !
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
I have tried this place twice and can only say "Go and get it!". I have not tried the bowls but considering the quality of the meat on their sandwiches I am sure they are fantastic as well. Pro: Size. These sandwiches are enormous. I got the steak and cuban sandwich and both were loaded with juicy flavorful meat. The flavor of both was unique and tasty. Con: The fries were underdone and soggy both times I have ordered them. I tried the regular and bravas (Spiced fries) and agree with others who say go for the bravas but ask for them well done. At least half of each order were so raw in the middle I couldn't eat them. Definitely recommend heading to Kittery, getting a sandwich and well done fries and you will get a five star lunch.
google avatar

Tommy E.

Yelp
Small take out on the Kittery rotary and it's fantastic Cuban food. I had a Cuban sandwich , split it with my wife and couldn't finish it. They have the best Cuban food north of Ybor city. Highly recommend the pork rice bowl and the Cubano sub!
google avatar

Xuan Y.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch. Ordered on the phone and the person who answered the phone was very nice and patient. Food was fresh and very refreshing. Would try to stop by again!
google avatar

Dan C.

Yelp
Delicious and healthy. We eat here regularly for those reasons. The food is ready quickly and we've never had a bad meal. Even the vegetables are extremely fresh and whatever protein you choose it is well prepared. There is no dining area so you have to take the food to go but hardly an issue once you taste the food. During the short summer months there is an outside picnic table but the place is small so no indoor dining. We highly recommend the food at this family business.
google avatar

Phil T.

Yelp
What a great little takeout place - right off the highway, quick and delicious! Nice little cluster of umbrella's picnic tables right outside...
google avatar

Richard W.

Yelp
We got some takeout rice and bean bowls for dinner last night on the recommendation of a friend. I know almost nothing about Cuban cuisine, and neither does Mimsy, so she just had Gabby, the owner, put 4 together for us, there are so many combinations of rice, beans, meat and sauce to choose from. They were excellent! $10 per bowl, and the portions were very generous. A must-try if you're in the area.
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
Sometimes "better late than never" works and that adage certainly applies in this case here at La Casita - quality crafted offerings that nail it in terms of bold, authentic Caribbean Spanish flavors. I rolled with the shaved steak sandwich that has what you need on a hot day like today. Also had to try the Cubano which is a proverbial knock outta the park. Authentic and fresh as all get out but don't forget the sides like mad flavorful yellow rice or the papas bravas. Definitely plan on returning here with the quickness!!
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
Sandwiches are awesome, and easy call-in and pickup ordering. Only thing I'd mention is that the bottom part of the sandwich roll on my pork sandwich was quite soggy by the time we got home. The baguette on the cubano held up much better. I could tell from the top it was a tasty roll, so maybe would make more sense to keep the roll separate for takeout orders. I still enjoyed the contents and the top roll and it was very tasty.
google avatar

Daniel R.

Yelp
On the way to Dairy Queen we noticed a small stand on the other side of the traffic circle. We decided to give it a shot! We split a chicken bowl with garlic crema sauce on the recommendation of the owner. It was excellent! Not too spicy and the meat and veggies were fresh and crisp. As a bonus, they also have tres leches cake from Miami, which we tried which was legit. This is a great new place to try something spicy and unusual, or go with a Cubano if the menu is too intimidating. 5 stars!

Anita L.

Yelp
Love this little restaurant. Reliably great, and the bean bowl portion is generous. I highly recommend the pork bowl with latin slaw and guava BBQ sauce...yum!
google avatar

Miguel C.

Yelp
Went here for the first time and food was fabulous!!! Very friendly folks and will give you recommendations on sauces since they have different ones. My son had the roasted pork and it was outstanding.... I had the Cuban picadillo and it was also very good. Needless to say, I highly recommend it!
google avatar

Marissa M.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE Cuban food. Authentic flavors, good portions, great prices. We tried the Cubano, the Pork Sandwich, the Steak Sandwich, a pork bowl, and a chicken bowl. All were excellent and we agreed as a family that we would go back the next day for dinner!
google avatar

Ballard M.

Yelp
It's all in the sauces. This is an unassuming little place in kittery where the serve up amazing bowls of food. If your thinking chipotle then your doing then disservice because they don't serve any bland food. It's real simple, choose a ride, bean, protein and a sauce. Everything comes with this amazing slaw that put grandma's summer picnic to shame. The beans are a consistency I've been trying to reach for years, the meat makes my mouth water just thinking about it but the sauce are moments of perfection that you look for in Michelin star restaurants.

Serena G.

Yelp
Perfectly cooked meat. Incredible sauce. Huge portions. Super fast turnaround time. Better than any burrito in the area for sure.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
This place is the bomb! It used to be the barbecue barn. And it was a hotdog shack before that. They sell Cuban food which at first I didn't think I would like but turns out I'm a huge fan! Portion sizes are enormous so bring an appetite! There's no room inside to sit so there's outside picnic tables. Plenty of parking space. I've tried their rice and bean bowls, there Cubano sandwich with sweet potato fries And their gaucho burger which I am having today. I asked him to cut it in half because there's no way I can eat a burger that big despite my size! There is a huge selection of hot sauces to choose from but if you want catchup or mustard you have to ask for it. Bruce at the register said I didn't need to ketchup but I blame it on being a decadent overweight American. Oh, and I tried the coleslaw the other day which was really good! They put crunchy potato sticks in it which I noticed they put in a lot of things here. I guess potato sticks are a thing in Cuba. I really don't know but it's awesome! The average price of lunch ends up being around between 12 and $15 not including a drink but those prices are reasonable considering how much food to get. One meal could easily feed two people! Overall I highly recommend this place! Don't wait go there now!

Yelp
I got what seems like the standard meal: chicken bowl with yellow rice, red beans, guava BBQ Portion: Large to Very Large. It would have been a challenge to eat the entire bowl, and I would have failed. Price: Right on the money. I paid less than $15, including tip. Staff: Courteous and professional. Well-staffed to handle the demand (my food was ready in about 5 minutes) Quality: Excellent. Vegetables were fresh and there were a generous amount. Everything made from scratch, including the guava BBQ. Chicken was tender and well-seasoned, didn't seem to have been sitting in steam tables all day. Other: Convenient location with plenty of outdoor seating. The overflow parking that was recently added is a welcome addition (I suspect this is in part why no other restaurant has been very successful here). Check out process is streamlined and makes sense. I would be reaching if I had to point out a weakness, but perhaps the utensils could be a bit sturdier. Overall: Quick-service food that is wholesome and made with care. This is always a welcome addition, in fact there never seems to be enough of it. I hope this iteration is here to stay!
google avatar

Alain A.

Yelp
Certainly the best Cubano of my life. In addition, the rice and bean plates to die for
google avatar

Kathy N.

Yelp
The roasted pork rice bowl with guava guava sauce left me speechless. Delish! Get it.
google avatar

Kimberly H.

Yelp
Stopped by on our way home from camp looking for a vegetarian option. La Casita was right off the exit and had great reviews. We had a tofu/rice/black bean bowl that was delicious! Portions are generous, so we split it between the two of us and still have leftovers! We go to Maine frequently, so La Casita will become one of our regular destinations!

Chris H.

Yelp
No idea about the food; didn't make it that far. You have to call the number that is hand written on a piece of paper tacked to the front of the building. Tried the number three times, each going to the same full voicemail. Asked the guys working for help, to which they replied, "Just call the number. It works". No offer to help, or to just take our order. Our party had four visitors who like to eat. Sorry you lost that order.
google avatar

Roselinde O.

Yelp
This was a quick stop off the freeway. The food was hot and delicious. I had the Mahi Mahi rice bowl and my husband had the beef rice bowl. We will definitively be back.

Susan C.

Yelp
Such great food in an unexpected place. Everything was fresh and delicious. Portions are enormous. Picnic tables are the only seating.
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
All around great food. We got the Cuban and two rice and bean bowls (picadillo and pork). Great portions, except small amount of pork. But willing to forgive that considering everything else.
