"Formerly maître d' at Au Crocodile, the owner of this place officiates in a contemporary and elegant setting that beautifully sets off the refined cuisine made with first-rate ingredients. The surf and turf-inspired "choco-beef" tartare with Kristal caviar and quail egg may be one of his most original dishes, but that's no reason to pass over the crêpes Suzette prepared in time-honoured tradition at your table, accompanied by vanilla ice cream made to order – delicious." - Michelin Inspector

I recently had a wonderful lunch experience at La Casserole in Strasbourg, where we indulged in a delightful three-course meal. From the moment we entered, the discreetly elegant interior set the tone for a memorable dining experience. The warm ambiance, complemented by comfortable yet colorful chairs and thoughtfully arranged tables, created an intimate setting that made us feel right at home. The friendly and attentive staff were exceptional throughout our visit, ensuring that our needs were met without being intrusive. Their knowledge of the menu added to the fine dining experience, as they guided us through the various options with enthusiasm. Each course was a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality and creativity. The flavors were beautifully balanced, showcasing fresh, local ingredients that elevated our meal. The attention to detail in both the presentation and taste truly exemplified what fine dining should be. Overall, La Casserole not only delivered a fantastic culinary experience but also provided an inviting atmosphere that made our lunch truly special. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exquisite meal in Strasbourg!

Quirky little place, with tables packed in quite tightly. I had a set menu lunch. Innovative flavour combinations, everything beautifully presented, and the mushroom 'shwarma' was a particular highlight. Lots of fine wines available by the glass, from Coravin.

This restaurant does not have a Michelin star but certainly deserves it. We ate a menu with matching wines. A sensation for your tongue. Really insanely good food. We were alone all evening and the bill was definitely high but I wouldn't have missed it.

Incredible ambiance, elegant + tastful interior. Very mediocre service, perhaps because we did not speak French, noticed other patrons who all spoke French had much more attentive service. Waited nearly 30 minutes after finishing main courses for plates to be cleared. entrees decent(ouef & lobster), main courses(veal & pheasant) dry chewy & not much flavor. 3 hours for 3 courses. Wonderful selection of wine.

Indulging in a culinary journey at this fine-dining restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. The tasting menu, meticulously curated, showcased the chef's artistry with each course being a symphony of flavors. The wine pairings elevated the experience, complementing each dish seamlessly. Impeccable service and a refined atmosphere made it a memorable evening of gastronomic delight. Impressed by their thoughtful accommodation for dietary preferences, especially for my vegetarian wife.

Lovely place for a delicious meal that’s not too stuffy at all. For a one star location it has perhaps the most inviting unpretentious atmosphere, which in many cases you would want. I would say the only major ‘knock’ is that we were at a four top where I had to reach and pass everything that was for me. I’m not meaning to sound pretentious saying that but I had to stop my conversation each time even if only for a moment however sometimes longer to collect the items. While not a big problem the focus should be more on the evening shared with friends.

We were there recently for a dinner, however will not come back and will not recommend it to anyone. The food presentation is beautiful but it doesn't add much value to the taste. The food amount is tiny, even we took the menu, was far away from eating well for a dinner unless you take 2/3 of their breads😂 The service was terrible, we still have wine left after we finished the dinner, the waiter didn't bother themselves to do their work. Same as the water. In general, compared to the bill u paid, u didn't even get 20% of the value

Yelp
Let's be perfectly clear. It's a French gastronomical restaurant in France. The quality of food would demolish everything that you could find elsewhere no matter what, but you are paying for it 100-150 per person for a full dinner with wines, apéro and digestif. Hence it is graded as such. We went there with my mother for her birthday, me inviting her. The service was top-notch - we were seated at the back, in the cosy corner and for the rest of the evening the waiters were keeping a keen eye on us and making sure we had everything we needed on the table. We hit it off with a local crémant (tasted great) as well as a couple of mise-en-bouche that were based on the Alsatian smoked whiskey and sea food and crustaceans, that were absolutely amazing as well. We also got some black garlic butter with bread from the kitchen while waiting - that was amazing as well. For appetizer, I went with foie gras. It was pretty good, even by the Alsace standards, but if felt like it was missing something that would make it worth serving in a gastronomical restaurant. Main dish - magret de canard - was pretty good as well, but also a bit disappointing for a gastronomical restaurant - mainly due to the lack of outside caramelization, slight core over-cook and an unremarkable sauce. To the credit of the maître-de-vins, all the recommendations made were straight on point for the pairings and the wines in themselves were great. Now, where things got really nice again were in the deserts. Between the cake slice and a meringue-based one, they were all great and the staff was nice enough to put some candles on it for my mother and took and instant picture for us to keep the memory of the evening. Overall, I can't stress how great the service was. So, to summarize. The service was absolutely stellar, just as the decoration/mood. The food is great, but if you judge the restaurant by the standards of what it is - a gastronomic restaurant - it's more of a mixed bay. Would I recommend it? Yes! Are there better restaurants, both for quality and price/quality ration around? Absolutely!
