La Cassolette

We followed Michelin’s recommendation and found this cute little restaurant in the heart of Vence old town, in a square next to the church. We sat outside and enjoyed the breeze despite the hot summer weather. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. The food was very good, and we couldn’t stop eating the fries (our waiter said they used a special kind of local potatoes and a secret recipe). The beef carpaccio was refreshing, and the fresh truffle risotto was very flavorful. We enjoyed our meal and the experience of sitting on the cute square watching all the interesting activities happening in front of the church.

Excellent experience. Food from the set menu was outstanding, service was discreet, efficient and friendly and the wine and beer we consumed was great quality. Highly recommended (we immediately booked again for three nights time)….

Exquisite food experience in the old town of Vence. You need a reservation but it's totally worth it: Fine dining for a very reasonable price - they have an evening menu for 40€ and the quality is really high. Michelin recommended place.

We had a wonderful time at the restaurant! The staff, dishes, ambience and quality were superb for what the restaurant is positioning itself as. Without going into any further details, one point I'd like to address is the comments from two prior guests, who gave the restaurant low ratings claiming falsely that the restaurant is supposedly labelling itself as Michelin-starred but that it is not. Its very clear that the restaurant is mentioned in the Michelin guide - this does not mean it is formally Michelin-starred. The restaurant is not claiming anything falsely. Its a basic knowledge that anyone who has a culinary inclination or uses that point as an argument for its Google rating should know. As such, I find the guest reviews on the Michelin aspect as highly misleading and unjustified. While I have no stake in the restaurant or even know the owner, I feel that being fair with guest ratings is very important since such bad reviews, if unjustified, can really hurt the reputation of the restaurant and impression for future guests.

Called on May 20 to book for lunch on May 29. No problem. Arrived at booked time and was told they didn’t have my booking (I have record of my phone call, and it was made in French, my mother tongue, so there was no misunderstanding), plenty of available tables but they refused to seat us and sent us to a brasserie on the main square which was not good. Ruined our day trip to the area.

Delightful restaurant in the old town of Vence. Wonderful service: we didn’t have reservation, but were greeted with the smile and seated right away. Delicious and beautifully presented food, good wine recommendation. Merci!

We stumbled upon this whilst looking for lunch on a Monday in Vence. What a tremendous find. Beef a pepper sauce with a wonderful pepper sauce washed down with red wine. Didn't take a picture until it was to late

This is elegant dining - not fast food! The new owners are ready to make a sensation with the lovely menu, warm welcome, beautiful presentation, and absolutely delicious food! We had the veal and the bass. The veal - oooh, so tender and flavorful, with roasted potatoes so so good! And the mushrooms! "Just a side bit" hiding beneath, but bursting with flavor too. Our other entree was the bass - delectable! with a creamy sauce that highlighted the fish along with zucchini noodles. Thankfully we had a bit of room for dessert, for the owner's mother's chocolate lava cake with current sauce & pistachio ice cream was just superb. Our suggestion - enjoy an evening here! You will be thrilled with your meal!

This is an excellent restaurant in a town with some stiff competition. I highly recommend the oysters, the two seafood stews, and the kidneys. The owners are lovely. Just reserve because the space is small.

We've been at La Cassolette two nights ago and had a delicious menu (3 courses). for 26 EUR/each. 1/2l white wine (18 EUR) was very tasty too. Service was friendly and quick. It's definitely a place to recommend.

Great lunch. Great location. Chef was a character, prepared great food but still had time to interact with his guests. Relaxed and memorable. A return visit is inevitable.
