After 7 visits and counting, I can wholeheartedly say that this wine bar is one of Old Town best spots! I was completely in love on my 1st visit, and since then, it’s become a place I look forward to every single week! The service is one of the many reasons this place stands out: Emily, Alfredo, and Christian bring the true spirit of hospitality every time. They are warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Emily, in particular, has become a highlight of my week. She’s down to earth, intuitive, and attentive to every detail, balancing calm care with a great sense of timing and flow, even during the busiest moments. Alfredo is just as thoughtful and clearly keeps things running smoothly. His cocktails are fantastic, and his energy adds to the experience in such a great way. The menu is a thoughtful blend of California and French influences, and everything is a home run. From the quality to the creative presentations, it’s clear Chef puts care into every dish. Whether you are sharing a few appetizers, enjoying something sweet from their pastry case, or pairing it all with a glass of wine, you will be happy! The space itself is intimate and beautiful, with rich wood, soft lighting, and a design that feels both elegant and cozy. There’s also a private room near the wine section that hosts special chef’s dinners. Have not had the chance to try one yet, but hopefully one day! Everything is spotless, well cared for, and clearly run with pride and attention. I love supporting small businesses, especially when they offer something truly special. This place makes it easy to do just that. It’s more than a wine bar, it’s a community place that hosts good food, great people, and genuine hospitality.

This place is primarily a wine bar that also serves some edibles. They also have an adjacent French bakery that adds to the selection of delectable sweets that you can have with your wine. It’s a relatively new location buy a well-known Michelin chef… You’ll need to go to their website to find out who he is. Had an enjoyable evening with a bunch of friends. And, I would say it’s a worthwhile stop to taste some of their wines, edibles as well as dessert treats, while visiting Pasadena. Take a look at the pictures down below, enjoy!

La Cave is an absolute gem in Pasadena! The vibe is warm, chic, and effortlessly elegant, the perfect spot to enjoy a beautifully curated glass of French wine alongside thoughtful plant-based bites. The service is truly what sets this place apart. Every time I walk in, I’m immediately greeted with the warmest energy, especially from Emily, who always welcomes me (and everyone else!) with the most genuine smile and positive vibe. She brings such a radiant presence to the space and makes the whole experience feel personal and special. And then there’s Alfredo, the absolute artist behind the drinks! Every drink he makes is not only delicious but visually stunning! I personally love his mocktails, he always delivers magic in a glass. Being right next to their sister bakery, ID-Éclair, means you can indulge in the most exquisite vegan French pastries , it’s the perfect pairing. The location is great, conveniently situated in Old Town Pasadena, easy to get to with good parking and surrounded by walkable charm. The ambiance of the space itself is beautiful and calming, with a clean, modern aesthetic that still feels cozy and welcoming. Whether you’re here for wine, pastries, or both, La Cave is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. 🌱🍷

Wonderful food and amazing service! Really nice wine bar with great bites and non-alcoholic drinks. We ordered a bunch of items. My absolute highlight was the cheeseboard. As a vegan I NEVER get the chance to order a cheeseboard, never. This was a first, won't be my last time. But honestly, vegan or not, it is a wonderful wine bar, happy hour place, date night spot, or great for a girls night out. We will be back!!!

Yelp
I stumbled across this place with my pregnant friend and we loved our time here. Not only was the service kind and welcoming, but all the food was unique and delicious! We had the vegan cheese platter and were amazed by the distinct flavors--vegan cheese can be pretty one-note, but these were all so different. The drinks were very carefully chosen for my friend and the server was knowledgeable. She knew which non-alcoholic beverages had exactly what percentage of alcohol content, so that my friend could have exactly 0.0. After our platter we indulged in two of the desserts recommended by the servers. Honestly, they were absolutely delicious. They really know what they're doing because they visited us at our table around dessert time so we could see the treats in person. I forgot the names but we had a lemon tart and a chocolate cream eclair, I believe. They were divine and so lovely to share. I can't wait to take my boyfriend here for some quality time. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for an intimate date !

Yelp
With so many wine bar options in Old Town, La Cave's curated wines and tasty food is so unique. What really stands out for me is their one of a kind staff. From the jolly French Chef Romy, the welcoming & knowledgeable manager Alfred, and the friendly & warm server Emily. The staff at La Cave make it a true gem that I can't get enough of! The bar is quaint yet spacious. The food menu is small, but there are often off menu surprises from the chef so you must pop in for those!

Yelp
After paying a visit to sister establishment ID-Éclair, I noticed La Cave on my way back to the car. I returned a few weeks later with a friend to check it out. La Cave is a vegan friendly wine bar that opened in February of this year. The menu features a curated selection of biodynamic wines from Europe & California in addition to vegan bites created by Chef Romy. The place is cozy & quaint and there is even a private table in the wine room where you can enjoy the special Chef's Tasting Menu. Our darling server's name was Emily. Very fitting for a Parisian style wine bar. My friend and I started with a glass of sparkling Llopart Brut Reserve rosé from Spain. It was lovely - light, crisp, & refreshing. We decided to share the Cheese Board, which came with a variety of artisan cheeses, fruit, nuts, crostini, and house made jam. We also got an additional side of Crostini that came with house made "butter" and Monini Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The cheeses were fantastic! All made in house from cashews. I appreciate that all dishes are prepared from scratch with plant-based ingredients, so you don't have to worry about chemicals or unhealthy hydrogenated oils. My friend is not vegan, and she loved the cheese! My favorite was the tomato herb. Hers was the Brie. The house made "butter" and jam were also exceptionally good. My friend and I really enjoyed our visit here and agreed that we would come back, even solo to sit at the bar and enjoy a glass of bubbly & nibbles. La Cave truly is a hidden gem that can be enjoyed by Vegans & non-Vegans. Don't forget to stop by ID-Éclair afterwards for some amazing Vegan desserts. *Metered street parking or nearby lots.

Yelp
The food was fabulous. Such care is taken with the dishes and the flavors were great. It's good to know it's all good for you while you indulge in such yummy food! Beautiful space. Great for dates. You can impressive them by taking them to a plant-based restaurant to show them that you care about the environment and the animals. Service was good, too. Would definitely come back again. Can't wait

Yelp
If it weren't for the flies in the wine, it could be a cute happy hour place. Hopefully more exposure will get this place on their feet. The food menu at the wine bar is pretty lackluster.

Yelp
Love it here! Excellent service and cozy vibes. The menu is curated to complement the selection of wine offered. I adored the orange wine. You would never know that it is entirely vegan (this is a compliment!) The cheese board tastes as wonderful as it is photo worthy! I'll be back soon!

Yelp
The best cheese plate! We were in town for just a couple days and as I was searching for plant based/vegan options this wine bar and its related pastry shop next store came up. Not a lot of vegan in the area. I was so excited to try both! The eclairs are delicious, choose any and you will be in heaven and the cheese board and Parisian sandwich were so good. The wine bar was intimate and comfortable! Please open up a shop in Portland! The staff was also wonderful, Alfredo and Emily were a delight! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Yelp
A lovely little cave to get a great wine and dessert, we tried the raspberry eclair, which was too die for (tart and sweet). The staff is very knowledgeable and the hospitality is on point, Alfred presented us with the most beautiful platter of desserts

Yelp
Amazing place!! Delicious Vegan options, from vegan charcuterie boards to sandwiches this is a must try place.

Yelp
I add this glowing review of the wine bar to my review of the vegan patisserie with which it shares a space and philosophy. (I write few reviews, primarily for places I want to see thrive.) Small, well-chosen wine list (who needs Champagne with such a tasty Cremant?) and tempting mocktails. Vegan bar snacks: my vegan companion loved the "cheese" plate, as did I, and I am not vegan. Special kudos for capturing the flavor of blue cheese so perfectly. The space is chic but also cozy and comfortable. Staff were so friendly. I'm already plotting to come back next week.
