Sadly tortilla chips are not fresh(old with a funky flavor) ,chips and salsa are a very small portion and not refillable , the guacamole has no flavor at all , the margarita is not their best 😧 they had a great bartender before that prepared delicious margaritas unfortunately not today , seems like they changed their bartender, staff drinking while working , not very attentive to clients. Disappointed knowing that this is the same owner of the best birria place (with great service) in the South Bay Area

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the behavior I witnessed from the owner was shockingly unprofessional, rude, and downright childish. Instead of running a welcoming business, the owner seems more interested in ego and attitude than hospitality. This is not how a restaurant should operate, and it’s clear there’s no respect for customers or basic standards of service. It may be time for serious reflection—either step away from managing the restaurant or consider closing it altogether, because as it stands, it’s doing a disservice to the community and to anyone who walks through the door expecting a decent experience. Refrain from deleting the review, as I have observed management’s tendency to remove reviews. If you are unable to accept advice or comments, it indicates the underlying issue.

Good live music and outdoor atmosphere... could be a great place. 💃However…. The food is poor quality (fake cheese etc) and not tasty. Though lots of chicken on the nachos but not enough chips. AND there was hair tangled in the food so my friend I was sharing with spit the food back immediately on the plate, with the visible hair🤮 just wanting it out of her mouth. So ruined the food. Told the waitress, she said, oh sorry and took the plate…NOTHING MORE. THEN asked for my receipt at the end and there was no paper so no receipt, got home and seems I was overcharged somewhere as well. 😔 🤷🏼‍♀️

It was date night for my wife and I on a recent Saturday and we were hungry. We wanted to try a restaurant with not only good food but a great ambiance and we found that place at La Central located in the Chula Vista Center mall. We had heard about this place but never actually tried it. We were promptly seated at a table with a nice fire place. We ordered appetizers, tacos and a couple of drinks. The food was delicious and the music that was playing was great so much that my wife was singing and eating. Food was very good, service was excellent, price was what you would expect anywhere else and ambiance was fun. We will definitely be back on one of our future date nights.

Nice ambiance and very tasty drinks. The adobada tacos are good and come with have chunks of pineapple. The adobada torta is okay. The chicharon and pulpo taco was a huge disappointment. As you can see the chicharon looks like it came from a chip bag. The drinks are real delicious but, the one that we got (pictured) came with a huge chunk of ice that no one bothered to break down. Waiters are very nice but, we had multiple of them. Not sure who was suppose to be helping us at times. I suggest calling to make a reservation on busy evenings.

Amazing tacos, good service. They need a new location, they have a chill beach vibe that I think they could pull off if they moved to one. I can tell a lot of heart goes into the food and the events this place does. The manager Aaron told us they do different food events like cabeza, paella, birria, etc on different days. They also do mariachi and karaoke on certain nights. So yeah I highly recommend this place even though it is just in the middle of a dead mall surrounded by stores. Try the pastor or the gringa tacos they were awesome.

A definite 4.25 score for ambiance. Nested behind bjs, this bar and restaurant were just popping with excitement. Instead of bjs, we literally heard the music the karaoke 🎤 the people the light's... it was a refreshing site; total fun, completely unique and utterly memorable. The food was great, the drinks were well made and tasty. The people were a mix of everything and the karaoke was thumping and bumping. 🔥 We arrived late night and yet, ended up just staying because of the great environment. Tale a shot and enjoy the night. Parking is ample and easy to get find. Only thing missing were more heaters and more comfortable seats and service was fine of not a bit slow.

I only come here for 3 reasons. Bryan, chocolate cake and ice water. This place is fun so I just get dessert and water from Bryan. Teeth!!

I seriously love this place Tacos and Rock en español is always a win the attention to detail is what matters to me and my family and they never let us down and you can't forget about the mariachi on Sundays

Located in the oh-so-"prestigious" Chula Vista Mall (aka a bunch of random stores no one visits). Parking is wide open for obvious reasons. The place itself looks cute on the outside, standalone with benches, but that's where it ends. Came at 12 PM with a party of 6. Place was empty--just one guy at the bar. Only two servers, and the service was sloooow. Drinks: Margarita flights tasted straight out of a premade bottle mix. Not fresh, not good. Food: Camarón enchilada taco: 6/10, fine but nothing special. Birria con nervia taco & consomé: 4/10. Supposedly "famous" Fernández Birria, but the birria was bland and the consomé had zero flavor. The kicker: When it's time to pay, no receipt. They just give you a total and take your card--no way to double-check the charge. Super sketchy. Bonus round: Within hours, my body went into full rejection mode. If you're looking for food poisoning and a free detox, this place delivers. Forget juice cleanses--this was a total system purge. Cute spot, terrible execution. Wouldn't come again. Save your money and go across the street to Tacos El G.

Great spot to hang out--live music kicks off at 8pm, and the food is solid. I had the Aguachile (verde) and a couple of assorted tacos, all pretty tasty. But the service... yikes. The female servers acted like doing their job was a favor to the guests--asking for basics like salt or water felt like an imposition. Borderline rude. Thankfully, the male servers were attentive and kind, and honestly saved the experience. Overall: for service--frustrating enough to overshadow everything else.

If you want good food and fast service don't go there service is slow and food is so bland. I find it funny how they deleted my previous comment that I made that was honestly a real review of when me and my friends went here couple months ago. There were a couple of tables who were sat after me and my friends and those tables got their food and drinks before we did and they also sat us right next to the speaker when they had their band playing so it was hard to hear me and my friends conversation. All the food was really bland and drinks were meh I had better. I should have just went to a fast food place instead of coming here. Also if you love having bad service and wait a long time for your food to come then do not go here. Come at your own risk if you want food poisoning and have a free detox after eating here.

They had live music which was great, service was amazing! Our server Kevin took great care of our group of 7 Thank you Kevin! Had the Margo Martini and it was delicious. Tacos also good. This is a great place to enjoy some company while listening to the live band.

Went there for the first time on Mother's Day weekend with a group of 15 family members. The food and mixed drinks were great! and although it was completely booked due the mariachi event. we had great service! The waitresses were fast, polite and attentive. thank you!

Before publishing this review , 1. I've worked in the customer service industry for 11 years , 2 food industry for 7 so seeing and experiencing this is just as a head up for anyone that's plans to come here . The entrance is a little confusing, all the associate look at you and do not greet you until you're ready to sit at a table . You don't know if you seat yourself or if they seat you. It seems like you sit yourself unless it's busy then they sit you ? We had three different servers , the manager came in and as one of the servers became a bartender mid service we were helped by two gentleman that got busy during a rush . The manager was just sitting and speculating at the end of the bar the entire time . Sorry but as a manager if you see your associates struggle , you should manage and help where needed ? We ordered the appetizer platter "La Botana la central " for 12 , it's literally smashed tomatoes, what they consider "pico de gallo" and smashed avocado what they consider "guacamole" . No flavor , no sort of sauce or even condiments were added it seems . To everyone their own I guess . The chips were stale and the chicharrones were probably the only thing we ate . At this point we were waiting and I mixed my own concoction for the guacamole , adding salt , lime and some salts the guy brought over . We ordered the 3 dollar tacos for taco Tuesday 2 Al pastor and 1 Cabeza For some reason the check was 6.00 for Al pastor and 3.50 for cabeza ? That didn't add up to me . The young lady that helped first told us the birria was 3 as well and turns out it was 3.75? ASK FOR A PRINTED OUT CHECK , their prices aren't adding up at all . The tacos had no flavor , the meat was flavorless , the sauces were flavorless . I don't recommend this place . I've lived here for three years and came across this place and it has a great ambiance and nice out door seating but the service and food definitely isn't matching the energy .

I love this place when Alicia the band plays. The only think that when they take a break the DJ doesn't know how to play anything else but bad bunny like 10 songs straight. That's like wtf bro play something else

Great Location Inside CV Mall, Drinks are Cold and Refreshing, Music/Live Bands are a Plus. Only Problem is This Tio, Dad/ Wanna be Bouncer "see Image" Is Very RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL Has a MAJOR ATTITUDE, When it come to Seating or just getting a table, He Had the nerve to tell us that how long we were going to be, because he had people waiting, didn't even care that we had drinks on the table. I had to remind him we are paying customers, Not to react like a Ceviche Tostada.

7/20/23 was my first time checking out this place. Great service and depending on what you order from the menu it's okay. The tamarindo Margarita on the rocks was good but the mix drinks are water down so I went with hazy ipa instead. The prices on the menu are pretty decent. The ceviche dish with pulpo was delicious. Just wish they hadn't done it to spicy. I wasn't sure why we were charged $25 at the entrance to watch impersonator of Luis Miguel perform when it's an open area and people walking around the mall can still watch lol. Overall I enjoyed myself and definitely recommend the place.

Great local spot for drinks after work. Live band and cool vibe, especially on Fridays. We will definitely be back.

Dynamite music food, drinks ,service fantastic atmosphere in a super cool spot in H Street Mall, behind Macy's . once you visit you want to keep coming back for a Mojito or beer and delicious menu. Unique in every way , nothing like it in area. ask for Kevin at the bar he is cool as ice.

Food We had the carne "asada" tacos -they are not asada. Meat seemed to be cooked on a griddle and it's over seasoned/condimentada - the spices over power the flavor of the meat. To add to it, it's only served with guacamole. We had a mojito and margarita- those were good. But we also had the strawberry limonada and regular limonade- you could tell that the lemons were old. It had that musty old lemon taste. The adobada taco also lacked flavor. And the camarón enchilado - the shrimp was undercooked. Food is not good. I'm sure the birria is awesome but they don't serve it after 2pm. Service Not the best experience, I usually go to la central on hollister and their service is on point , but this place lacks good service. As we got here they saw us with kids and chanclas and we didn't felt welcomed. I guess we will stick to our spot on Hollister. I know it says classy, but it's the mall.

This is what happens when you get ONE BEER and don't tip because you don't like the bartenders attitude. Management won't respond and when they he "manager" called security of course they wouldn't remove us because we just wanted to finish the beer we paid for and of course we did before they got there and left peacefully. It's really sad that people who can't control their own lives come into their job and business establishment to dictate the lives of others.

I have been coming here for the last 3 years. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Chula Vista. I come here with family, I have invited friends to try this place too. It's definitely a local favorite spot. What's unique about this place is that everyday is different, depending on the day of the week you go the type of ambiance varies. The service is always amazing since it's a small local business the owner is always welcoming and kind to greet you. The servers are very attentive, friendly and helpful. The menu is wide enough so that you find something for just every preference. I have tried a handful of items from their menu and I definitely have my favorites including the gringa taco, octopus taco, birria tacos and their seafood plates. I am their at least once a month for their hard kombucha that you can't find anywhere else. I would say my only thing is that sometimes it gets too loud it's hard to have a conversation, not only was it loud on my last visit for karaoke but it was also loud the visit prior when the mariachi played.

Food is okay. Service is very unpleasant! The gentleman with long hair in pony tail and the other guy there are so arrogant when talking to you. I had a bad experience with one of them a year ago and stop going so I decided to try again after a year and the same 2 same guys working there with same nasty attitudes. They need a customer service class. Be polite and smile . Maybe they own the place or their parents do and they don't need to be nice but they need to change the way they treat people or just keep those two in the back where they don't have to do customer service !!

The service is bad. The employees treat this place like a nightclub and have a bad attitude. You have to double check your bill because they will charge you for items you never ordered. They don't bring you a bill simply bring a credit card reader and tell you the total. Once I asked for a copy of my receipt I noticed items I never ordered. Food is ok but not enough to compensate for the poorly trained staff.

Cute little patio place behind Macy's in the CV mall. Staff was pleasant & accommodating. They use wine based alcohol for the mixed drinks, so they may taste a little different, but many people seemed to be enjoying them. There was live music the night I was there. The carne asada meat was REALLY good. It had a lot of flavor. I was pleased with both of my tacos. Looking forward to going back!

I came here for the first time on a Sunday and I was not impressed. It is a decent set up, however it is located amongst the stores next to Macy's, Vans and a game store. I feel like the beer garden vibe is hampered by the surroundings, but you can tell they tried. Since it was Sunday, they also had Mariachi for an hour or so. Honestly it was unbearable, with the sound bouncing off the walls, it was much too loud for a small area. I don't feel like the location matches the ambience they are going for. I wasn't too hungry, so I ordered my drink while I waited for my one taco and consume. The drink I ordered tasted plain except for the tajin rim; it lacked something, maybe the liquor, because it didn't taste like anything in particular. The food took about 20 minutes to come out even though the menu was only like 4 items. I am unsure if this was a specific Sunday menu or just a post Covid re-opening menu, but there was a full side of drinks and the back had a few food items. My birria taco was satisfactory and the consume was just alright. I felt the flavor was off and there was a lot more fat/oil than usual. The staff appeared busy and lacked customer service. Our server who took our initial drink and food order, did not bring out our food or help the other server to direct whose food goes where. Additionally, when refills were requested there was a long wait as if they forgot. In the end, I probably wouldn't come back on my own accord.

The ambiance was very nice, they have heat warmers outside in order to stay cool which I always appreciate. The day we went they were understaffed but once the manager got there he apologized and things started to come out faster. The Rockefeller taco was the best one out of the ones I had. The carne asada one was good too I didn't like the "Al Pastor" because it had some sweet ingredient I think it was pineapple not sure. Overall it was a nice place. The drink i had was pretty delicious and I would definitely have "El Carajo" again.

My husband and I went just to have drink of beer and the bartender Ximena she greeted us with so good customer service very good and she also recommended us a delicious keto birria taco and a oyster shot very satisfied I give this place 10 stars.

Great hospitality! I got to enjoy mimosas and birria in their outdoor beer garden. I had no idea this mall even had one! The mimosas were tasty and the birria was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back with my friends to try their other options.

Their tacos are delicious! I have come here twice and it is great. Food is good and so is the ambiance. It's right across from Macy's but even though is at the mall, it is a good time. Fbe staff is very attentive and just great. I highly recommend coming by for a visit

Was quite surprised to see this neat little spot in the mall! My husband and I stopped in after shopping at Vans. We ordered the chamoy margarita and the strawberry margarita, both blended. Our waitress was super attentive and knowledgeable. For food, we had their ceviche tostada, the oyster shot, and their aguachiles verde. Everything tasted fresh and was delicious. A bonus was that they have a couple tables that are also fire pits!! It made it really comfortable to be sitting outside at 7pm since it was getting chilly. Their price points for what we ordered were also great, we will definitely be back. Thank you guys!!

This review is for the La Central located within Chula Vista Center Mall. My boyfriend introduced this place to me because he loved their Rockefeller tacos and 3 Meats burrito (note: 3 Meat burrito isn't available anymore due to menu changes, Please bring it back!) The tacos are on the more expensive side at an average of $5-6. And they are so gooood. My favorite is the octopus and chicharron taco. All the seatings are outdoor so you can sit down and eat. I appreciate the staff coming by and turning on the heating system so we weren't cold even though it was windy that day. Thank you!

The food is great and so is the drinks! The two stars is for the loudness of the music!!!!! It is so unbelievably loud, I was sitting right next y to my friend at the bar and we couldn't hear each other talk. Cmon!!! It's not a club? Is it??? Old man at wooden entrance literally acted like he works at a Luxury club. We came in this past Saturday at about 8pm place was not full a few spots open. Asked if we had reservations I said for what this place? I told him we have been here a few times and never asked if we had a reservation. He stuttered and tried to change his negative attitude. My Boyfriend looked at me and said let's go spend our money somewhere else. What a joke! To the owner check on the old man at wooden entrance. He needs to humble himself ()

The strawberry margaritas here are amazing and so are the tacos. You can eat the candy straw! Be sure to make reservations for big parties. It's a nice way to end a day of shopping. I had the caramelo and Rockefeller tacos. So yummy!

Ordered " a mojito" quote on quote . The mint was NOT muddled and I saw the bar tender add a bunch of different syrup flavor to achieve this meant to be refreshing drink . There is no liquor everything is agave based . I'm other words Loya of sugared alcohol and no alcohol . Not worth the money . 100 percent guaranteed headache . Save your money and go elsewhere . The place is clean and very modern . Hence the reason I even decided to give this place a star .

We had our holiday party there for about 15 people on Saturday night and it was epic! Good drinks, amazing service, tasty food, and live music what more can you ask for. They even split our bill with ease, and they took such good care of us it was the best holiday party we have had in a long time.

Warm beer sucks. So did their "clamato based" michelada. It tasted like a bad homemade concoction of watered down tomato juice with Maggy sauce, it was bad. And you only get about 4 ounces of it to go with your warm beer. For paying a premium at an old crappy mall (i was born and raised in the area) I'd really expect at least ice cold beer. The birria tacos by Mr Fernandez from Fernandez catering himself were great though. I'm not returning to this place.

Great place for outdoor dining and pet friendly. Various selection of gourmet Mexican style tacos and seafood. Food is fairly priced but drinks are on this pricy side. Fair amount of TVs with various sports channels. Recommend expansion of happy hour offerings and lowering the volume level while playing music.

Only if it gave me an option for a no start.. I had a terrible experience first off let me start with capacity who ever is running this place need to work on that, it's to packed and small. We had reservations for 9 people and they sat us in a table that only could fit six people and on top of that they put us right next to the speaker where you can't even hear yourself breath. The staff walks around looking mad they took an hour just to serve us a cup of beer. On top of that it took another hour to serve is tacos the simplest thing on the menu. Me and one of my friends went to the bathroom and when we came back the staff took one of our chair, I noticed it was in the corner so when I went to go grab it the short bold man used his big body to push me out of the way, so when I said excuse me he told me you can't use that Chair that it was in they way. And he claims I pushed him and he had it on cameras and he asked me to relax or I'll kick you out! Then he was yelling at me saying he is an owner. First off if you were an owner of a company you have the worst customer service ever! The way he handled things was not okay pushing the customer taking our chair away and not finding us another table to accommodate us. Serving under age people. I will definitely report this place for that. I will never ever go here again.. nor me or my friends and family. And to the owner that told me to leave you should go back to school and get a degree in customer service because you need to work on that! WHO GAVE YOU YOUR BUSINESS LICENSE .

This place is really really good and Delicious these tacos are Sonora style flower tortilla and they Are the bomb delicious i highly Recommend it.
